Absolutely delicious cake. Everything from the service to the attention to detail made my day perfect. This cake not only looked fabulous but tasted divine. The next day I was getting request for leftovers. I am extremely grateful for the team at Deerfields Bakery. I was a nervous bride. Debbi was knowledgeable, patient and professional. She understood what was needed and executed an exquisite cake that demonstrated our love and appreciation for our guests. Huge thank you. Highly recommend and will be using again.

Poor Experience. I placed an order for a turtle cheesecake and they completely messed it up. I even called or email customer service and talked to them about my concern but they didn’t even offer to resolve my issue. Didn’t refund or replace my cake order.

Wow!Fresh, all made in the bakery.Fresh whipped cream, not too sweet.The Bismarck was a tasty mess. Crazily thought I would pick it up and take a bite. Luscious ooze that I ate with a fork.The Caramel Pecan Sweet Roll. This quintessential breakfast pastry is flavored with cinnamon, and generously topped with a delicious caramel glaze and wholesome pecans. I found it a little dry.

Amazing cakes for every occasion. It’s the only place we go now for cakes. The designs are just so so so much fun. We’ve been doing it for the past year now and we will never turn back.

Deerfield is right down the street from us AND works hand in hand with our wedding venue. We cannot say enough things on how delicious the cake was! We even changed our flavors after the tasting and booking and they were happy to accommodate. We didnt do anything fancy for the decoration, we were more concerned about flavor. We got so many compliments on the cake - DELICIOUS!

Excellent first time buy with the bakery. I called to place an order not sure how the process works (which I found out later you can contact them via email). The attendant over the phone was very patient, thorough, friendly and helpful. Been hearing about this place over the years from family and friends and finally decided to drop by because I was in the area. I was surprised how big the bakery is and how much variety they have. Make sure to bring cash they charge more for credit card, 2.5%. The staff wasnt the friendliest and we were not greeted when we walked in. There is a parking lot in the back.One thing I didnt like about the bakery was that everything was out in the open. What if someone touches something or sneezes on it accidentally? Most bakeries Ive been to would have the food covered up or behind a counter. We opted for the cheese strudel. It tastes decent but nothing crazy to write about. I think they are also known for their cookie trays. The first time I had Deerfields was at my familys house eating it from a cookie tray. The place is great for the area but dont make a special trip if you are 30 minutes or further out.

Ordered a specialty birthday cake this morning at the Deerfield Location. The manager, Samantha, took the order and found a way to make the cake my grandsons wanted much more affordable. She was wonderful to work with! Kudos to Deerfield Bakery for their tasty cakes and exemplary employees!

We ordered a cake last March for my daughter’s birthday and everything closed because of Corona. We were guaranteed a credit and a cake for my daughter’s birthday. We called last week for my daughters 3 year old birthday for a cake that we paid for last March and never received. We have emails and proof but they stated the last manager who promised us quick. We supported this company for years and this is how they treat a 10 year customer.

I heard so much about the Deerfield bakery so last Saturday afternoon I got to the bakery got the cheese coffee cake at the price of $12.99 I was so disappointed that it not even real cream cheese in the filling more like 40% cream cheese and 60%cornstarch or flour mixture.( I can get 8 regular size of danish with real 100% of cream cheese for $9.99 at COSTCO WHOLESALE store) also I got some butter cookies it was delicious and fresh but for 14 pieces of cookies at a price of $19.97 ? Wow !!! Maybe in that neighborhood is ok but too much for me also the girl was helping to pick out the cookies at the counter SHE WASN’T FRIENDLY AT ALL. NOT EVEN SMILE OR HELPFUL! KINDA SERVICE WITH A HIGH SCHOOL GIRL ATTITUDE. NOW I WISH I LOOKED AT HER NAME TAG...It was my first time traveling from north side of CHICAGO to get there and it would be my last time . Good thing that I didn’t order or get a birthday cake for my daughter it would be a big disappointment . How much I miss the Swedish bakery in Andersonville since they closed and sold the building.

My favorite Bakery for danish and pastries when I go to the northern suburbs of Chicago. There pastries are so fresh & flavorful. Your first bite will tell the story; be sure to be Mindful and not miss the moment! Try the caramel bear claws. This may be followed by an exclamation like, wow, these are the best bear claws Ive ever eaten! Their muffins are large, buttery-moist and filled with plump fruit. My niece loves the chocolate muffins! The Boston cream donuts are stuffed full of silky, but not too sugary, cream with a spread of yummy chocolate on top. The dont miss their turnovers. They are chalked full of filling, flaky and delicious. If you want to impress your guests, family or just pamper yourself with a special treat, be sure to make a stop at Deerfields Bakery for a box full of mouth-watering pastries.

Excellent bakery! The cinnamon roll was delicious. Fernando even offered to warm it up. Gary was very hospitable and Mikaela made a very impressive Americano. Highly recommend this place!

It’s the best breakfast I’ve had in Buffalo Grove, the coffee is adequate but the pastries, breakfast burritos, beef hash and omelettes are phenomenal. The American fries are really good as well. Getting hungry, time for breakfast!

The new bakery does not disappoint. I loved the old one too, but they have reopened and are somehow better than ever. The danishes are really the star so far, even though that is usually the last pastry I would pick. Here they are flaky and flavorful and something I wake up craving. highly recommend you try them

Hello I am deeply sad with your staff service. My sister just picked up a cake from the Deerfield location today, and the girl who she gave her information was rude and said a race slur. My sister gave her last name and the worker responded by telling her not in a joking manner “ I figured because that’s the only Hispanic name I got”. What is that suppose to mean? That comment was not needed. She could of just received the information and brought my sister her cake. The service was not ok and it’s not the first time. When I first went in your bakery same location I was not received welcoming. the attitude and the ugly stare was not necessary. I bought a cake from there only because my coworker loves your cakes. But that was the last time I bought anything from your bakery. I would of given 0 stars but it doesn’t let me.

My wife and I were very upset about the bakerys cafe closing. But now being reopened with the new ownership has brought it back to another level and we couldnt be happier. They have really picked up their game sense changing ownership the food is better and the pastries are amazing! They brought back the chef Fernando who is incredible. Its great to see them giving the place a fresh makeover. We will be visiting often once again.

Beware: Deerfield Bakery has changed ownership, and it is not the same place many of us grew up loving. They lost my daughters birthday cake order, which we placed in person and paid for over a month in advance. They were apologetic, but their attempts to make up for it were meager. I have since spoken to several others who have recently had issues with their orders or who feel the quality and taste have changed. I cant speak to the taste myself since they didnt even make my cake. So, so disappointed.

Purchased a Ginger Bread House 12/07/19 for my kids to decorate. Expected a freshly baked gingerbread. Received an item that looked like bird house. The Gingerbread was like holding plywood, extremely difficult to break apart to eat. Not really edible, could easily break a tooth. Very pricey $35 for a poor quality product. Save your money and get a gingerbread house from your local retailer which is about $9.00.

I ordered from here for my daughters first birthday. I had paid in full and when we went to pick up the order the day of they made a mistake and did not have the complete order ready to go. I understand mistakes happen but not one person apologized for the inconvenience or for the fact that we didnt have enough cake for the kids at the party. They made it seem like I was inconvieniencing them by asking about my complete order.

All in all, not a terrible place to get a cake, but it has its flaws.The baked goods can be hit or miss. The pastries and donuts in particular tend to be pretty dry. The last time I was here, in late summer, I saw some kind of fly sitting on a turnover, which was kind of a turn-off when Id planned on getting breakfast there. The cakes are usually good quality, though (or at least, I assume they are, since the cakes Ive tried were from the location in Buffalo Grove). Baked goods tend to be overpriced here, as well, in my opinion.The coffee is not very good. Theres a Starbucks within throwing distance that Id recommend if coffee is your main draw.The customer service seems good-natured, but not the most professional or experienced.Theres not a lot of space to sit and enjoy your purchase inside. Three little tables, crammed so close together I could hear the conversation of the people next to me. So not really a place to sit and linger for a while.The main draw here, in my mind, is the variety. Theres a wider assortment to choose from here than any other bakery I know of in downtown Deerfield. But you also have to stomach the negatives, which might or might not be worth it. For myself, I dont plan on returning any time soon, and Id certainly never choose this location over the one in Buffalo Grove.

I left 3 voicemails. 4 days later they called back, and told me that its TOO LATE to change my order. HEY, I WONDER IF THAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF THEY ACTUALLY WOULD HAVE JUST CALLED ME BACK, OH I DONT KNOW, THE FIRST DAY THAT I LEFT A MESSAGE, NOW OF COURSE ITS TOO LATE. if someone asked me for a recommendation, I would never recommend Deerfields Bakery.

I ordered a Biscoff cake and Yule Log for Christmas and they did not disappoint! Both cakes were beautifully decorated and extremely delicious I will definitely be ordering all of our special occasion cakes from Deerfields from now on.

The quality of the bakery is fine (comparable to Costco), but unfortunately despite spending 20 minutes on the phone and receiving the correct confirmation, Deerfields provided a sheet cake in place of a two layer one filling cake (yes, half of the order) For an expensive bakery this was disappointing, but on top of that the customer service was unsympathetic and inauthentic to the impact not having the cake promised had on our special day. I might be the fool for thinking a smaller private business was in it for the passion of delivering beautiful desserts to enhance special moments. Save your money and order from Costco.

I just went to pick up my sons birthday cake for his party this afternoon and his name was spelled incorrectly. I had placed the order in the bakery a week ago and paid for it in full. The staff was very apologetic but unable to fix it as they didnt have the same color frosting and it would ruin the top of the cake. I was give customer service phone number and told they would refund at least half the cost of the cake.When I called customer service I was told they could only refund me $5 on a $40 cake because 1) the spelling was CLOSE ENOUGH - tell my son that! 2) I should have been charged more for the cake since their prices increased - not my fault as I paid what I was told. After much discussion Im now getting refunded $10. Ill be sure to tell my guests what happened and not to use Deerfield Bakery - they should have just honored what their staff promised and not minimized the importance of the error.

This was our first time here despite growing up in the area and boy have we been missing out. Chef Fernando was very friendly and helpful! We ordered the Mexican omelette and Deerfield skillet, both were delicious, came out fast, hot and well served. The cinammon raisin toastwas the best Ive ever had!! Prices are fair. Overall a hidden gem well be back to soon!

My family has been loyal to Deerfield’s ever since I can remember. Every birthday my mom, dad, sister, and I have had since living in the area has been celebrated with a Deerfield’s buttercream cake. Their frosting is phenomenal, however their new owners are grossly up charging subpar service. Their cake quality has been on the decline as well, our most recent birthday cake having the thinnest crumb coat of frosting inside and out. They even forgot decorations on the top. When we asked about it in store at the Deerfield location, there’s nothing they could do because they no longer make the cakes there!! Sad to see and we will never get another cake here again. Complete waste of money.

This has been a favorite bakery of mine for many years but was extremely disappointed in the quality of a few of the items I purchased today. I purchased a variety of butter cookies, cup cakes, and smiley face cookies to bring back to the office. The smiley face cookies which are normally fresh were worse than hockey pucks, completely inedible! I had 8 of them to bring back overall and had to throw them away. The butter cookies were fresh and we served those instead.

Our family loves Deerfield Bakery and has ordered desserts and cakes for all important events in our family life. However, in the last couple of years the customer service has not been good. Staff needs more training. One can stand at the bakery case and not be acknowledged al all. They do not smile and sometimes do not say thank you. Some even have an expression that says why are you here. Having said this the customer service when one calls in an order is very good. We travel a distance to the bakery and would like it to remain a quality place for bakery goods. It is so surprising we cannot seem to have a high quality place on the North Shore.

This is a good bakery. I never had to order a cake, so I cant judge, but the various other items I got were fine. I also like the cheerful decor and service.

I ordered a cake for my husbands birthday, one which I had ordered before and was delicious. This time, however, an essential ingredient had been omitted rendering half the cake inedible.I left a message with customer service and hadnt received a call after 48 hours, so I called again. The person who answered the call was very friendly and apologetic. She told me that Sheila, the customer service manager, would call me back. When Sheila finally called me back, she told me the best she could do was give me $10 back. I said that half the cake was ruined and I would like $13 back which was half the price of the cake. She told me to take the $10 or leave it.I was really stunned by her response and lack of customer service. I am not going back to Deerfields and you should think twice about going there.

Cupcakes frosting and cupcake was a few days old .Update. 11-21-2018Went back one more time to give it a shot . I ordered 2 cupcakes. The frosting harder then rock candy. When I told the cashier my issue she began to argue with me like if I was trying to get a free cupcake. After explaining it that I don’t care about the refund I just wanted them to know the cupcakes seem to been out for a few days. I just left the cupcakes on the counter and walked away. Thank god a new bakery is coming to town.

Deerfileds does have a nice assortment of breads and desserts...however if I were you I would steer clear, certainly not the caliber you would expect for such a busy bakery.On 12/20 & 12/21/2019 I went online to order a Buche Du Noel and breads for my Christmas dinner I would be hosting on 12/25. I had ordered from them on previous holidays hence understanding the quality. I spent most of 12/20 not being able to successfully place an order on my cellphone, then on my computer and lastly my husbands computer. ...many many times we received a 509 Error.. By 12/22 I had invested more than a couple hours trying to order and decided to try to call to learn the only way you can place an order is to call their customer service line which of course was closed on 12/22-Sunday. I opted to connect to one of their stores directly which should have been open however the phone rang and rang without an answer.This type of service deserves less than a star and the repeat business should reconsider their commitment to such a business. Any company who will despite this experience continue to produce very mediocre items and continue to rake in a boat load of sales all while they are failing at providing a reasonable/reliable solution for families to count on them for holiday meals should not be thriving. This year I will be driving past Deerfileds in Schaumburg at 6:30am on 12/24 to buy my breads and desserts at Jarosche in Elk Grove Village since this nonsense with Deerfileds made me miss Jarosches ordering window as well.....hows that for my solution to your broken website and phone answering system.I win since Jarosche produces tastier baked goods anyway.

Their fresh breakfast pastries are second to none. The other desserts are hit or miss. The specialty cakes look incredible, but they are way overpriced and taste only OK.

Need to agree with other posters. Its not bad...but its so expensive vs other better options. I find the fresh baked breads at Whole Foods or even Jewel way better. Cookies are pretty good, but again, not remotely worth it. Was disappointed when I moved to town and realized this is what we were getting. And just not a friendly place compared to the rest of the town.

They made the cake for my daughters first birthday and it turned out fantastic! They also did a small smash cake and it was super messy and perfect for pictures.

I have been getting cakes/cupcakes from here for close to 13 years. Ialways have a good experience. The quality of the baked goods is excellent and I dont mind that the price is a little higher than other places because your paying for the best tasting, most delectable cakes around.And as for the staff, I have never had any issues with anyone being rude or anything of the like.

Ive had many cakes from Deerfields over the years. Theyve all been fantastic and very well received by all. Several have been custom designs that have turned out wonderfully.All about the buttercream, baby!

Your call center/customer service phone prompt is an EPIC FAILURE to your business. Ive called 5 times. Left several voicemails and havent been called back. After a 6th call and waiting 17 minutes Im told there isnt a direct phone number to the Deerfield location and I could only be transferred. Then the phone was disconnected during the transfer. Its taken me 2 hours to give you payment for a cake. You still dont have the money and youre producing a cake. I cannot imagine this system is working for you or any of your customers at the level you describe your level of service. Think about it.

Had a bad experience with customer service. My cake unfortunately collapsed I was able to get a refund which is great but its been a month and half and I have not received my refund. Everytime I call they tell they will have their supervisor call me back. They never do! very dispointing! My family has been odering cakes from deerfield for a long time and its just so dispointing that their cakes are good but customer service horrible

Overpriced baked goods and a very unprofessional and rude staff.I walked in and immediately saw an employee arguing with a customer and another customer simply asked if the cafe had Wi-Fi and an employee responded line the customer was an idiot with, No. Why would we have Wi-Fi?The baked goods are way overpriced for what is available.I walked in, experienced all of this, and walked out.
