Evan did a great job finding us the perfect car, going in we did not know exactly what we wanted but he was able to find the right car that fit out budget. He was very patient with us even after multiple visits to explore which car was best to trade in. Not sure I have ever given someone so many scenarios and he kept up with it all and was able to give honest input. The level of honesty between the two of us was something I have not experienced with car buying and was very refreshing. At no point did he pressure us even showing us other cars that could work at a lower payment and where all wonderful values cars. That level of trust lead us back to the original deal we had talked about a week earlier in the month. It’s great having no buyers remorse even when the payment was more than the original goal because the value was clearly there . I can not stress enough the level of no pressure sales from Evan or his manager. Other times the manager will come over just to make sure the deal was closed. That didn’t happen they because they whole Derby Don Hatten team wanted to make sure we got a great value and we sure did. The whole goal was to make my wife’s life easier getting kids in and out of the car and he came through with flying colors. Matt Holmes was great to work with. It was very busy on a Wednesday night and he was bouncing around to several different customers. We were very specific on what we wanted and didnt want in a vehicle. Matt took that to heart and was very excited to show us what he found. The vehicle was traded in with some damage and he let us know that the damage was already in the works to be fixed. He was not pushy at all and explained how the process worked with the sale. We had some bad experiences elsewhere, so it was nice to have someone talk to us instead of at us. It came down to money and how much payments would be. He worked with Gary Shockey and was able to get us to where we were more comfortable with payment wise. We ended up coming back the next day to purchase our vehicle. The process for both nights took longer than expected due to the busy nature of the place and short staff. Purchased our vehicle less than 30 days from this review. Deal went smoothly no issues there. 2 weeks after purchasing the vehicle we went on our first road trip. Noticed some issues that we did not catch during the test drive such as the tires(found to be out of balance), blueray player not working and blown door speaker. I believe they blamed the Park City location were they brought the car in from for not catching the issues on their inspection. They gladly took a look at my concerns and was able to somewhat correct the tire issue (still a shaky ride. ) Regarding the blueray player and speaker was promised twice and looked dead in the eye by a sales manager that they would fix it, but needed to get with a 3rd party audio/video company . A week has gone by and crickets. Due to trust being broken, I decided to look over our contract again. I no longer wanted the over priced warranty that was added to the price of the vehicle. I submitted a cancellation form to the warranty company as stated to do in the contract. Was informed by the warranty company that my paperwork had not arrived and to contact the dealership to have them submit it. When I contacted the dealership to inform them I no longer wanted the warranty, and the warranty company needed my paperwork. I was given the run around and many excuses of what I needed to do in order to cancel ( such as coming back in to sign a form and other delay tactics). A week later and my contract is still not canceled or sent in to the warranty company. (Thank god the warranty company said they will honor my date on the cancellation form whenever the paperwork arrives. ) I choose to buy a car from Don Haten as I was under the impression they were a reputable dealership. After this experience I’m left feeling like I might of been better off buying a car from a “North Broadway “ dealer. Maybe other have had a better experience, but definitely not my case.

Beware of liars and never buy used!I will never purchase from the Don Hatton again. I usually buy a new vehicle every two years, and it was by far the worst experience Ive had.1. Was lied to about the following:-Leaving with full tank of gas-Full inspected car (apparently it was inspected 5 months prior andthey counted that)-Fully detailed car- When I test drove it the car was trashed. Theyassured me it would be detailed. After purchasing it was clear itwasnt detailed.-I expressed concern with condition of the tires. They assured me ingreat shape. One blew out about a week after I bought it.-Remember that so called inspection? Well I discovered as I wasdriving away that the volume button and apple car play didnt workproperly. The manager told me that should have been inspectedwhen I later talked to him. Well, it wasnt.-They promised me what I owed on trade in and then I tried to pull afast one and offer less at closing with the finance guy.2. The wait time was much longer than I was led to believe. I stated several times I could come back later in the week. I was in the office 2 hours after committing to buying the vehicle. Either be transparent about the wait time or be faster.3. The way you acted when I requested you give me what I owed on the vehicle was unprofessional and immature. The manager threw a fit and stormed off. He then used this as the reason that he wouldnt feel my gas tank as promised.4. I was told that any Don Hatton could handle my services needs. When my tire blew out on the interstate, as we went through that process to get it fixed, etc., we got a huge, frustrating run around from the sales and service department at the Derby location and the service department at the Park City location. This needs to be addressed from within before you share things with customers. It seemed to be an issue on the Derby side as the sales manager in Park City has been great. His name is David.6. After all of this happened I requested the Regional Managers contact from the Sales Manager at Derby and he wouldnt respond.7. Its now going to be a week before my new car is fixed and the rental they gave me broke down on my way to work today. I know David at Park City will take care of me but the rest of this situation is embarrassing for Don Hatton. I would suggest never buying there and if you do, make them sign in writing everything they tell you. Everything!

After losing my car in an accident and being at a loss at what to do, Chris Miller at Don Hattan went above and beyond to help me get a new car. He was very friendly, polite, and most of all professional. Came to Don Hattan Derby for the outstanding prices and was not disappointed! I pulled into the parking lot and was immediately greeted by a salesman Chris. It was so worth the 1,370 miles to Don Hattan Derby and the 23 hours in the car. We traded in our 2017 Chevy Cruze and got top dollar for it so it was a win win for us. After a long day of running around central Kansas down 135, we ended up at Don Hattan Derby at 5:30, 30 min before they closed. We talked to Matt Hensley about a couple of cars on the lot. We test drove a 2015 Mazda 3 i Touring and absolutely were sold on it. With them closing at 6, the financing crew stuck it out and got us a great deal within the payment we were looking for, 3 hours later. They went above and beyond to make sure we got a great deal and left with what we wanted. Would buy a vehicle here again.

EDIT: I wish there was a NO star option! Everything I said below was how I felt when I drove off the lot with my new car.. But when my bank released my loan amount I couldn’t believe it! My loan was over $22,000 for a $15,500 car! The finance guy (Fernando) made it sound like everything was included in my GAP policy, when in fact he had added on another $4,000 for coverages I didn’t even ask for! I guess I can thank Don Hattan for the learning experience on what I should look for next time I deal with a dealership..! Needless to say, my husband and I will NOT be returning in the future!Skyler is amazing!! I avoid dealerships like the plague, so going in I was expecting the worst! Skyler was the complete opposite of any car salesmen I’ve ever dealt with before! He was honest and I never felt like he was trying to take me for every penny I’m worth! Called service ahead of time to advise I would be dropping my vehicle off due to the check engine light being on and stated what I thought the problem ( fuel sending unit) was, but i still wanted it professional diagnosis of the issue. I was advised of and agreed to diagnostic fees. They called me and told me they cant fix it due to having an aftermarket led light bar aka extra wires under my dashboard that had absolutely nothing to due with check engine code or my fuel gauge not working. Definitely worst experience ever at a repair shop my business will go elsewhere.

After a year of looking for a vehicle, I finally found one I was interested in, so I made the trip to Derby to check it out. After realizing it wasnt the vehicle for me, Matt was quick to help us find something that worked for us, in our price, our payment range, and exactly what we wanted. UPDATE QUESTION..... What reviewer won the free TV giveaway???Don Hattan employees went out of their way to help us. We were needing work done on my car, unsure if the warranty or extended warranty would cover the needed repairs. Not only did we contact the warranty company,, but Don Hattan Service manager did too. They were very good at explaining what they did and the costs covered by warranty and our costs. If work is needed in the future this will be our go to place.

Mike in the service department was amazing! Really made me felt valued as a customer and helped me pick the best service for my car.

The sales man Mike did an outstanding job and provided a great deal of patience with my car buying experience. I’m a little late posting this but in April I purchased a new vehicle. Purchasing a vehicle is a “big purchase/deal” and I am very slow in making correct decisions. He provided guidance, was never pushy and very understanding that I had to think of every step along the way. This is my first purchase from the Derby location but third interaction with Don Hattan Dealers. I helped my sister and a good friend purchase vehicles from the Augusta Don Hattan location. Each time the staff was great. My only “issue” was the back end sale each time. If a customer says “no” three times to an extended warranty, it doesn’t matter which way you sell it or the story you provide, no means no. Other than that, very professional!
