Just before leaving on an extended nomadic venture, we had our Subaru looked at in Denver for some suspension issues. $2500 later, thought we had the problem solved. Once on the road, however, we discovered there were still some disconcerting sounds coming from beneath the car. As we were often traveling some iffy roads in UT, AZ and CO, we had concerns. I found Mountain Auto Care, and wow, are we ever so grateful! They quickly discovered the problem and had our repair done before the time estimated, putting us back on the road -literally- without a delay. Don, Ed and their crew are as honest as they come, and their work quality is exceptional. Wished they could have done all the work, but at least we can now drive with confidence on our future journeys. Thanks, Mountain Auto! Glad we found ya!
Professional and trustworthy. They get my car diagnosed quickly and always call with details before working. They work quickly, too! Don and Ed are great.
I had to have my engine replaced at another shop traveling across country. Supposedly the work was guaranteed and under warranty. When I got home my vehicle broke down. I took it to Mountain Auto. Long story short, my engine was put in by a bunch of dummies at the other shop and Mountain Auto went to bat for me and had to jump through a million hoops. They are the best and stand by their work no matter what. Ed and his crew are top notch. Honest, helpful, caring, and friendly. These guys know their stuff and always have the customer’s best interest in mind. They’ve acquired a life long customer in me for sure!Thank you Mountain Auto!
Awesome service and price. They go the extra mile with everything. Trustable and dependable. I would recommend them to anyone.
I am so grateful Ed and his team went the extra mile for me! We were about to travel 1700 miles and needed to have two cars services and checked over. Everything went well, great communication and reporting as well as getting the job done in a timely manner. I cant say enough great things about this business! Thank you!!
Took my 07 dodge charger here about 4 or 5 years ago and they were extremely polite, professional and ended up saving me lots of time and money on an issue that ended up being very small. Moved back to town recently and they were very honest in saying that my brakes were in good shape on my newer subaru despite others trying to sell me on the lie that I needed new brakes ASAP. Go to place for me in town from here on out. Highly recommend!
Radiator problem caused unscheduled visit for repair. They were able to get the job done and a few extra things needed . Very pleased with service.
Dropped off my pickup on a Saturday morning after it stalled out and would not start. these guys made time in an already busy schedule to diagnose and fix the problems - turned out to be a shorted mass airflow sensor and dirty air filter - on Tuesday, for a reasonable cost.
I had to have the thermostat replaced on my car. Ed who helped me at the front desk was super nice and helpful and they took great care of my car. 10/10 would recommend.
Good communication, timely and professional service. Thank you!
I trust these guys to do a good job and charge a fair price. Plus, they are friendly and accommodating.
Polite, speedy, clean shop.
I spoke with Ed & Don this latest time I visited Mountain Auto Care, and as always they were both extremely professional and thorough. I really appreciate that they take the time to explain to me the problem my car is having, and answer my questions patiently and thoroughly. These guys are true professionals. Thanks!
They provide honest and good service. Enjoy that they keep you in the loop. As always, glad I use their service.
Ed Smith keeps my antique on the road with skill and kindness .CD
Good service and communication. Will go back again.
Very attentive to my needs and concerns regarding a big expensive job to my Subaru. I like how they checked and double-checked many times along each step of the way. They also kept me informed about progress on this job. I have faith in their mechanical ability, and I was treated with courtesy.
Took care of my Fiat quickly. They kept me updated with the progress. Were very accommodating.
Mtn Auto Care has expert mechanics that provide accurate service and honest recommendations. In addition, they go out of their way to give excellent customer service. I am grateful they’re here in Durango.
Mountain Auto Care are friendly, punctual and professional. I just got my van back from them for the second time and will definitely be back for my future needs; they kept me informed through the whole process and my final price came in under what I expected. Such a relie to have that Check Engine light off!
These guys are great! Honorable, Hard working, and knowledgeable Veterans who do great work. Take your vehicle here. Im a travelen man and these guys got me back on the road.-Lcpl. Marine Corps. OooRah!
Great service and got me in on short notice. Would highly recommend this shop.
The folks at Mountain Auto Care have always been super responsive to my questions and concerns. They are diligent in their work on my truck, and they seek out the best outcome for their customers. My latest experience is a shining example of what you would like your mechanic to do for you as a customer. I was faced with a fairly expensive repair bill (replacement of the whole driveshaft) unless a hard to find part (a yoke) could be located and just that failed part replaced. They spent all day seeking out this part in order to save me a third of that initial estimated repair bill. The effort shows that they care about the positive outcome for me (saving me money while still performing the service and making my truck road worthy again) and I am fully aware that not all shops will take this time to produce that outcome. In the end, I am learning to trust that Mountain Auto Care is going to provide me with the best advice and fair pricing to fix my problems and theyve secured me as a customer. I think youd do well to give them your business as well.
They were very personable and kind over the phone and equally in person. They were very kind walking me through what I thought the problem might be and later explaining what the problem was and how they diagnosed it. Overall it was a great experience and I will be recommending them to all my friends.
Had to have an inspection done on my failing outback, was done quickly, and for a very affordable price. Good stuff great dealing with both ed and don.
Great customer service
I have had several cars worked on over the years. I have always had a good experience. The mechanics do a good job and charge a fair price for the work.
Honest, hard working mechanics at this little gem of an auto shop! Ed and Don do spectacular, prompt work. My mother and I have been bringing our vehicles here for years, as they give genuine advice on what can wait if you dont have the funds. They have always given an accurate price estimate. I brought my jeep here for a new fuel tank, and they used their connections to find a used one in good shape, saving me hundreds. They go above and beyond. The best part is the honesty and kindness! These guys have been able to fix everything my cars have thrown at them! In a great location for students, locals, and those traveling through.
Mountain Auto Care always takes care of our vehicles and makes sure that they are safe. Amazing customer service, friendly staff, and great work/maintenance. Highly recommend.
Nice work, Don, Ed and crew! from Gary
Ed-Master mechanic will fix anything with speed, precision, and attention to detail. Perfect customer service. All the guys in theshop are certified and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.
Nothing is not important than honesty, and Don and Ed are integrity guys. I take all my vehicles to Mountain Auto and they get the job done with transparent communication and commitment to quality work. I cant say enough positive about them.
Ed was amazing and worked with me on my 05 Jeep Grand Cherokee. We just moved to town and I can’t tell you what it means to find a honest wrench in the area. First, my CV axel was damaged after the trip from the east coast, fixed quick and painlessly; second a few weeks later... My tensioner on the serpentine belt snapped and damaged my AC core. Very informative and professional. I’m no mechanic, but I understand a few things. Ed’s description and analysis was great for any layman. Will be going back.
Mountain Auto Care has always been high on recommendations in this town but I never had reason to use them. When my Subaru went a little crazy (the weekend prior to my birthday) I called around around to see who could get it in the fastest. Nobody could see it in time for my holiday but the good folks at Mountain offered to at least tell me what was wrong. They gave me a complimentary diagnostic, knowing that I already had an appointment at the dealership the following Monday. On the way home, I cancelled the other appointment and brought it back to Mountain. During the repair they discovered it needed a little more time than they had originally told me because of an unforeseen issue. However, the cost was the same as the quote regardless of the extra hours for the mechanic. I cant recommend these guys enough!!!
Normally I would have given this company 4 maybe even 5 stars. They had the best all around diognostic pricing in town, even offered to shuttle me home which I greatly appreciated. I took a 2005 Subaru Forester here in rough shape. While they fixed some things I also payed a hefty down payment of about $1350. All was well for the work done until I got hit with an unexpected $500 extra dollar charge. My car was there for almost a month and while time may not have been an issue due to having another vehicle, I still expected the work to be done sooner. If anything a call would have been nice throughout the month but I ended up calling them first extremely worried. Over the phone I was told there cheap basically great value part wasnt coming in and they had to order the real part (should have been doing that from the beginning with part of the 1350) and that it would be 100 extra bucks MAYBE! AT MOST! When they hit me with the extra 500 it was for mistakes they had made that they wanted me to cover. They helped us out getting it down to 450 with coupons but the final extra price jumped around and finally landed on 167. It didnt feel real, the numbers kept changing and it felt like robbery. They had lost my trust at this point for sure but I decided to pay the 167. The worst part is my car accelerates half as fast now and has an additional 3-4 new problems it never had before. Engine light came on a day and a half out of the shop. Would not take my car back even if the work was free.
They KNOW their stuff and get it done BOTTOMLINE.I will be coming back if i have any more issues on my truck. And i recommend my friends to this place.
Mountain Auto again did an excellent job of fitting me in and working on my vehicle in the time allotted.I had some noises that I couldnt figure out. Mountain Auto checked these noises and figured out what they were. The best part was they listened to me and addressed my concernsI get great value and satisfaction when dealing with Mountain Auto in that they are honest, concisely explain what is going on and do an excellent job. Everything, Ive gotten fixed has stayed fixed.Highly recommendedTom Staatz
Had to have a small part under the gas tank and it took forever but they did it and it all seems to be good. It was crazy expensive but a seven hour job always is. Thank you guys. Don and Ed the good guys.
I would have given it No Stars. Just be prepared to listen to them blame the other mechanics and “How they will do it right”. First time A/C worked 3 times. After they “Did it right” it worked 2 times. According to them “they ran a test” because they did it right. So now that it’s not working Again. The test didn’t show a leak in a hose. If you’re told, No Leaks and then go back and bring up the test “Suddenly he wants a Mechanic in Tennessee that never worked on the A/C to blame. He didn’t like being told No mechanic in Tennessee had touched it. I would suggest looking elsewhere for reliable and trustworthy mechanics. If as a woman, you want to listen to stories about how many certificates he has and all about Girl Bikes, you found your place. If you’re looking to be treated with respect, look elsewhere.
I always take my truck here for work. I trust this shop.
I went here because my daughter is going to Ft Lewis and her Jeep broke down. I called, they took a look and told me about the mechanical issues and what needed to be done to get it up and running. Very fast work, very friendly and very professional. The price was very reasonable also. The repair had failed but that was beyond their control. No worries though because they took it back in, tested it and replaced it without any extra cost. They even went an extra step on a part that wasn’t part of their job and had it replaced for us. Thank you guys and I highly recommend Mountain Auto Care. You guys are awesome.
I have been going to Mountain Auto Care for years! I bring them both my personal autos as well as my company autos and they are always on it faster than I could ask, they are honest and work hard for us to stay on the road. Thank you Mountain Auto, you guys rock!
Quick, fair, and HONEST! I am new to town and was in the market for a mechanic and there is no doubt that Mountain is my choice. They got me in quickly, explained everything and what I thought would be a very expensive rear differential repair ended up being a five dollar part.
I took my 99’ Subaru Forester in for a pre trip check, and they caught something serious the previous place I took it to did not. A bearing was broken in one of my tires, and I was leaving on a trip in two days. They gave me best case scenario pricing, and worst case scenario pricing depending on the damage to other parts once they got in there. The next day they got the parts and replaced the bearing, it was best case scenario pricing. They were very kind, informative, and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend them. Thanks guys!
While on our wonderful vacation at Vallecito Lake our Ford Explorer starting overheating so badly we had to stop. Thankfully we called Mountain Auto Care and talked to Don, the owner. He said he could work us in tomorrow. This was great knowing most car repair shops have appointments, especially in the summer. We dropped the car off right when they opened. Ed, the office manager and master mechanic, called and explained what needed to be replaced and the cost, but said they needed to do a pressure test to be sure they were no other leaks. My husband and I were impressed with Ed calling back before he said they would be done and explaining that there was another leak and they would need to have the Explorer till tomorrow. Ed also went the extra mile and helped us with a car rental and a getting a ride to the rental car company. As we waited, Mike M the technician that worked on our car, even asked if we would like to see the parts he replaced. Ed shared that Mike had worked for the Ford dealership for 4 years before coming to Mountian Auto Care. How wonderful to know we had such an expert working on our vehicle. Needless to say, we picked up our car the next day, we paid exactly the price we were quoted and they even finished it early! Thank you, Mountain Auto Care for your excellent service and going above and beyond for us. We made it home, 450 miles across the hot desert with our SUV running beautifully!
Great Customer service and Customer care being new to the area its always tough to pick a new local mechanic but these guys are great.. A big Thank you to Ed and his team..Ill be back..
I wish all of our peers in the automotive repair industry performed at the level of Mountain Auto Care! Im the second generation owner of a nearly 50 year old auto repair business in the north Denver metro area. Recently, a technician performed some services on a customers vehicle, and the customer had some concerns after the repair. The customer was on a road trip, and we contacted Mountain Auto Care to see if they could help re-check our work and take great care of our customer. It turns out -- our technician made some mistakes. Im not sure how it happened, but were human, and it happens. Ed didnt rub our nose in it -- he told us what he found, gave us a price to correct the error, and made things easy for our customer! We paid over the phone and my customer was back on the road and happy. Thank you so much guys, if we can ever return a favor, we would be honored.
Very efficient and knowledgeable. Good communicators, keeping me informed. Excellent customer service will keep me coming back.
This store lost my trust. After a few well done jobs, they totally dropped the ball last time I took my truck there. My truck was left unlocked on the street while overnight at the shop, and several things were stolen out of my truck. Furthermore they will try to charge you for storage after a few days, which is normal, except they store the vehicles on public streets. This shop was also not understanding of my work schedule. Save yourself some hassle and go elsewhere.
Highly recommend this place for anyone needing a repair or service on their vehicle. Also 10% discount if you have AAA!! I had a major exhaust leak in my minivan and they took me right in first thing in the morning and had it completely fixed and ready to go in 2 hours. Super fair prices and very nice mechanics. 10 outta 10!
I always take my vehicles to Mountain Auto Care. They are fast, reliable, and take extreme care of you. As a business owner in Durango we need our vans and buses on the road to make our business go round and they provide all the excellence we need to keep going. Thank all of you at Mountain Auto Care.
MAC does a great job with communication; letting you know what they have discovered about your vehicle and what your options are.
Mountain Auto Care is my preferred mechanic. Their work is AAA certified, excellent service, the staff friendly and knowledgeable and are the best priced in Durango. I wont take my car to anyone else and Ive had my car serviced by various mechanics in town. They handle both newer models and older cars like mine and keep them running smoothly. Don and Ed are great to work with, I really cant say enough great things about them other than to recommend their service.
Prompt and accommodating service. Don and Ed were able to squeeze in my last minute appointment and they did a great job. The prices were also reasonable, AAA discount!
I brought my 1989 Dodge Ram Van to Mountain Auto Care for a complicated head gasket replacement. I was given an accurate timeline, an honest cost estimate, and received an overhauled engine that had been machined and reconstructed so that it ran almost good as new. I am not an auto buff, and the staff here knows that, but I am always treated like a valued customer and a human being, never spoken to condescendingly. For their genuine kindness and professional efficiency, this is the only shop in town Ill bring my vehicle to.
Ed was great. I have a return appointment next week but so far the AC is working perfectly and the full service oil change was superb. Thanks!
The only surprise here is how forthright Ed and his crew are, we got a call at every juncture letting us now what they found and what the cost would be to move ahead, with straight forward explanations. I have been doing my own auto repair for 10 years after a bad mechanic experience and these guys have restored my faith!
My brother-in-law recommend MAC when my car wouldnt start. They offered an AAA discount which I really appreciated and were very informative thru the whole process.
When I brought my car in, mentioned that the sun roof wasnt working and if they could take a look at it. Was told it might be difficult to look at since it would involve removing the ceiling panel. When I picked the car up was told a gear was stripped and recommended I go to a body shop to have it fixed. Was charged $64.95 for the diagnoses. Was not given an estimate ahead of time how much it might cost. If I had known up front about the cost, I would have said forget it. Suprised that Mountain Auto Care wasnt more forthcoming as they are supposed to have a good reputation. Wont be coming back.
They did a great, thorough job! Very honest and great customer service!
My vehicle was a challenge and took 3 days to complete, but the folks here made sure it got done. They even pulled in extra help from their other shop so I could drive home that day. Thanks!
They care about the service they provide. Always friendly and get work done in a timely manner.
Thank you Don and team for getting us back on the road so quickly! We broke down and had to be towed to MAC late at night and we were back on the road the next afternoon. They even let us stay warm and get phones charged back up in their office :) Great customer service and communication throughout the entire process!
Mountain Mechanical has always taken care of me and my vehicles fairly and in a timely manor. I own a Landscaping company and when my trucks break these guys get me up and running as fast as possible. They are honest, trustworthy and knowledgeable. I will be a customer for a long time.
If youre looking for old-fashioned, no-bull auto maintenance, this is the place to come! I appreciate their accomodation of my schedule. They will fit you in and do just what you want -- not 28 other things in addition.
They are always so accommodating and friendly and know how to get the job done well!
As usual, the troops at Mountain Auto Care were ready to take on the rather unusual problems with two of my vehicles (Jeep Cherokee and Isuzu NPR). I received sound advice, reasonable price estimate, and they did the job in a timely manner, AND solved some extra issues along the way that will save me grief down the road. I like the way they keep customers informed of progress and are able to deal with such diverse vehicles and issues. Although I had used Mountain Auto Care previously, they were recommended to me by Morehart Murphy (to whom I had gone for diagnostics) on this last adventure.
I love this place. i’m a young college girl who knows nothing about cars and i always feel like the staff here takes care of me and my car. Ed is especially very helpful and kind and i would recommend this place to any female who is nervous about going to a mechanic because they don’t know if they will be treated fairly or feel like they won’t know what is going on. i was scared to go to a mechanic without my dad because i felt like i would be scammed or talked down to condescendingly but i’ve never once felt that way. this place is awesome
Excellent service. Good communication. Will be a repeat customer
I love that this place will tell you if your car does not actually need work done. As a women bringing her car in, I do worry that repair shops will try to get every cent out of me that they can. I have not experienced that this here, and I am so glad.
These folks are great! They provide a good estimate prior to work and communicate during the process so there are no surprises. Have had major and minor repairs done in their shop and recommend them for both.
Things went very well - you were a great assistance in helping me through the no help available moment - you were professionally competent in finding and correcting pending disasters, and I enjoyed meeting the ex-Mercedes Benz expert.
Dealership tried to charge me TWO THOUSAND dollars, Ed got it done for $250! Trust your local businesses!
These guys were great! They fit me right in and fixed my car problem. Thank you Ed and David you guys are awesome!
Don and and staff couldnt have been more accommodating. This is a real old time garage with certified mechanics who actually diagnose and repair vehicles, not just change parts. In every instance, their experience and expertise has saved me money. I even take my truck there for oil changes about every other change, just to get a good once over. Yes, it is more expensive, but its the difference between having a good, long term relationship with a doctor who knows you and looks for subtle changes before they become big problems and using the emergency room as your primary care physician.
I live in Albuquerque and Don and his team were nice enough to help out my Freshman daughter is at Fort Lewis College. Her car wouldnt start....Single mom...nightmare. How do you help your daughter from ABQ? These guys were amazing and so nice to help us! THANK YOU FROM NEW MEXICO!
Great and honest people! Wouldnt go anywhere else..
Not sure what to think. I was told that the $140 diagnostic would not go over that amount, and if it did I would get a call with explanation. But my invoice says $194. I had installed a new fuel filter, but you said the fitting didnt go on correctly, then you replaced it and charged $50 part and labor. I found a new fuel pump, which was the problem all along and I knew it was, for $159 (Duralast), but got charged $266 for a fuel pump. I would like to know more details about what manufacture of parts, but nothing of the sort is included in the invoice or discussed with me before installation. I know my vehicle is old and will need work more often, but Im retired with no retirement savings, but sometimes I feel like Im being treated like a little old lady with a lot of money who doesnt know anything about cars and justs wants it fixed..
For many years Ive compared auto repair and mechanics to a medical practice and doctors. The comparison being that in some cases, even many cases, a doctor or a mechanic can immediately diagnose and treat the obvious condition, other times, there is a significant amount of trial and error. Such was my case. I had no problems at all with my truck. One day I parked it, ran in to a doctors office, 10 minutes later my truck would not start. I had to get it towed. It was tough to diagnose because it started for the mechanic. They determined it was likely no fuel to the engine but why. They scoped the fuel pump, readings were all over the place. I decided to have them change the pump. Expensive yes but I have no desire to be stranded somewhere. There were subsequent stalls while driving. More research by MAC. It turned out another problem, a design of the electrical system and fuse box had caused the same issue in other vehicles. Causing electrical shorts to occur. Because of that the fuel pump could be damaged. They repaired that with a kit and it works like new again. Thanks for looking deeper. While my truck was pre or post repair, someone attempted to get into the tonneau cover and tore the securing bare from the cover. No questions asked, Ed had a technician jump on it at my convenience, took it apart, secured everything better than factory and got me back on the road in 30 minutes. To me that is above and beyond. That was not there doing but, they took care of it anyway. Don & Ed at MAC are very customer friendly. Focused on what the customer wants and needs. In all cases they explained what it was or what it could be. I decided to repair or not. Thanks, Mel
Was in Durango for 5 days for vacation. Having air conditioner issues. They were able to diagnose, overnight part, and have it repaired in a day. Great service, and I was only charged 1 hour labor. Thank you.
Trustworthy and thorough. I will always bring my car to Mountain Auto Care
Was going to charge me ~$290 for a transmission mount that I ordered for $49.23 shipped. Glad I did my due diligence. Waited to write this review until I installed the part to make sure it was the correct one.
Don and his staff are exceptional professionals. Over the years, they have worked on my Passat and Hyundai - always with great care and consideration. You are in good hands at Mountain Auto Care.
I was having problems with my battery. Went to another place to have it replaced and they tried to convince me that my alternator was bad. When they finally decided that it was the battery, they could not figure out how to replace it. I called Don at Mountain Auto Care and they got me taken care of. Fast, friendly service by true professionals. I will come back the next time I have a need.
Ed is a helpful guy, he actually took the time to ride around with me in my car to listen for the noise it was making.
Awful customer service. Didn’t get acknowledged for the first 10 minutes I was in there. How can’t you even say hi in such a small front desk area?! Told me it was going to be over $500 for new spark plugs. Never going back to this place.
Over the Memorial Weekend my cars fuel pump went out and I was stuck in Durango(not an awful place to get stuck but stuck all the same). I started calling Mechanics early Tuesday trying to stay optimistic that I would be able to get home(Flagstaff-5 hrs away) that evening in time for a big work day Wednesday. The first couple shops informed me that they were booked and wouldnt have time to even look at my vehicle till closer to the end of the week. One of these last shops referred me to Mountain Auto Care where with my first call I was a bit more relaxed. They were sympathetic to my situation, were able to get me in that day and get me on the road at a reasonable cost(it was right in line with my at home mechanic). The owner was personal & friendly as were the staff that I met. I would recommend this mechanic shop to anyone and am so thankful I was referred to him.
I got stranded in Durango CO with a coolant leak about half way through a 3300 mile road trip with the family. I have AAA basic coverage and they recommended Mountain Mechanical. These guys were nice enough to fit me in on a late Monday morning. The longest part of the fix was waiting on a part from the Chrysler dealer ship (took over 3 hours to get to Mountain). Dont know why chrysler could not get the part there quicker, but Mountain fixed my vehicle within ~1 hour after receiving the part and I was on my way. Great service and friendly.
My engine was smoking and leaking oil. When I took it to Mountain Mechanical to have it fixed, they told me that the leak was coming from the head gasket, which needed replacing. They quoted me $3,000 or so, including having other parts replaced once the engine was pulled out, and said it would take a week and a half. I searched on the internet, and found that the average cost of replacing a head gasket is about $1,000 nationwide, and so decided to have it done somewhere else. They took all day to have everything put back together, and then charged me $300 for doing nothing to it. I then took it to the dealer in town, and was told that it was not the head gasket, but just an oil cylinder that was leaking. They repaired it for me for $250 in less than a day.Moral of the story: although the guys at Mountain Mechanical were very friendly, they were clearly trying to take advantage of me, perhaps because of my young age. I would not recommend the shop to anyone.
Great place. Honest and very reasonable on price.
Dealing with Don and Mountain Auto Care was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with any business. While traveling through Durango on a Thursday morning, my car broke down. Don assured me he could order the part and have it the next morning to get me on my way. The next morning comes and goes with no part arriving. Friday afternoon, Don informs me that he ordered the part from Memphis, TN and it was stuck on a truck somewhere. Where it was stuck, Don did not know. (For those of you wondering, Memphis is 1,218 miles away from Durango). Don also informed me that it was a very slight outside chance anyone would do work on the weekend if the part was ever located. Showing absolutely zero empathy or consideration for the predicament Dons poor decision making put me in, Mountain Auto Care proceeded to charge me $87 for the 5 minutes it took his mechanic to plug a computer into my car to diagnose the problem. Keep in mind, that is a service any AutoZone will do for free.Realizing Don was completely incompetent, I located the part myself at several shops within 200 miles of Durango. I rented a car, obtained the part, and fixed the car myself. I also learned that several shops within those 200 miles have daily weekday shuttles to Durango for auto parts. Mountain Auto Care should be incredibly embarrassed and ashamed that a 31 year old female with no mechanical training and no contacts in the area was able to get the job done before these self touted highly skilled mechanics as their website claims.Unless you have unlimited time to wait for Don to order parts from the far reaches of the earth, there are several other dealerships and shops in Durango that deserve your money over this pathetic excuse for a business.Response to owner:Don, let me break it down for you. I own a Mazda. Mazda dealerships within a few hours drive of your shop keep the part in stock with daily shuttles to Durango. You mishandled the situation. You couldnt admit it then, and you clearly cant now. When you provide poor service, you should expect bad reviews. Get over yourself.
I was visiting Durango for a few days recently when my 77 VW bus was experiencing starting issues. Don not only got me into his shop within hours of my call, but solved the problem with the install of a starter relay. On the ride home to Tularosa NM, there were no starting issues......problem solved! Thanks for the help, highly recommended service!
Don and his crew have been exceptional with small problems and bigger problems on all our vehicles. They even researched tackled an electrical issue with my hard-top convertible!
These guys were great! We were traveling through Durango on a Friday night and had break troubles they got us in first thing Saturday morning and got us back on the road that afternoon. Thanks guys!
I was worried about finding a mechanic when I moved to Durango, but the staff here is very knowledgeable and kind. I would recommend this place to anyone that has any car needs.
I was greeted with extreme patience and a new transmission with no complications.
Easy to schedule, great communication about what was discovered, all my options were explained to me, and the price was fair. Take your car to Don!
I continue to appreciate the fast and reliable service.
Fixed my jeep Cherokee for $150 less than other shops in town. Also, the customer service was genuine and gave me the feeling of honesty.
Very disappointed. Had my AC charged from some type of obvious leak, said they could not find a leak, almost $200. A month later the AC is not working and has to be recharged again, I get another $127 bill. I am up in Utah a week later and the normal shops charge $49.95 for a full AC service. Wont do that again.
