I love this place! Every time I visited I had extra friendly helpful service. I am not the best at DIY but they send me away feeling like I can tackle anything. Ive been in 7 times in 3 months, maybe I can DIY!

Just when it seemed like everybody in town was out of canning jars Kroegers Ace Hardware came through like a champ. Ill definitely be going back.

Horrible experience with the paint department. Koegers had a sale on close out paint (professional grade) which we took advantage of and purchased 7 gallons. We came back to have the paint tinted and the clerk was very upset he had to be in the paint mixing department and was not very competent. Instead of getting assistance he ruined the color of our paint requested. Instead of correcting the issue we were told we would have to pay for ANOTHER gallon of paint. We did not think this was fair as it was not our mistake so he got his manager whom told us why should I have to eat cost of this? We asked for his manager and he said I am the manager. After telling him to keep the paint we were leaving he said I dont want you to leave without paint and gave us the cheapest paint on the shelf for replacement which was okay, but it gets worse. They had mixed two other gallons of paint and when we checked the spot on the top of the can, they did not match the chip at all. Including the one they switched out! I went back into the store the same manager was there in front of the key blanks and I said I hate to tell you this but these mixes are not correct either. He completely ignored me, turned his back and kept looking at the key blanks without saying a word. All three gallons were useless to us so we went to Home Depot where they helped us get things fixed up and had to throw the Kroeger paint away. Fred Kroeger would be ashamed of the customer service his store is giving! I have lived in this community all my life and believe in supporting small businesses but when you get treated like this, not going back any more.

Extra star for good selection of nuts & bolts. Otherwise, poor experience. Couldnt get help getting a simple socket from the locked case despite three employees standing in clear view socializing with one another. After bothering someone to unlock the cabinet for a $5 part, I wasnt allowed to hold it. I was told I had to be escorted to the cash register. I asked the employee if he was afraid I was going to steal it and he said yes.Home Depot is a couple of miles south. Far better selection, prices and far fewer locked cabinets.

I had three people ask me if I needed help while in the store. I had a wonderful chat with one about shovels. This store has everything except groceries. They have a great greeting card section with gift wrap and bows. The employees are always friendly and helpful. I have shopped here for 15 years.

I Love this place!! It is walking distance from my house and is staffed by people who ACTUALLY know what is in the store! (Home Depot...take note!!) The staff goes our of their way to make sure that service is excellent. I had a 15 minute conversation with a gentleman in the paint department who convinced me that Darling was the PERFECT hot pink paint color to replace boring old white on my outdoor furniture! And...dont you know it...it WAS!!! Nice folks...great service...support YOUR local hardware store!

Was so disappointed about your cedar bark mulch supply issues and for a second there i thought my mulch that i already invested alot of money in wasnt going to match subsequent mulches since Kroegers recently became alot less dependable for garden supplies and plants. I was rejoiced when i discovered that Durango nursery and supply carries undyed mulch and has no supply chain issues what so ever!!!

This place has just about everything that you could be possibly searching for. Even if you arent looking for a specific item, you should walk through the store just to familiarize yourself with the vast assortment of things that they have. I highly recommend shopping here

Always reliable for the more hard to find

The best hardware store in Durango and anywhere nearby. Though smaller than Home Depot, they seem to have about everything the big orange has but it’s way easier to find. When it comes to plumbing and electrical, they often have more connections, switches, etc. And the customer service is phenomenal. A trip to Kroegers is always a fast one. You’ll usually be asked right upon entering the door if you need any help. Gary, in particular, is my go to for getting help finding the right items—especially plumbing—quickly. He knows what’s up and gets you everything you need. Support the local guys!

This is the closest stihl dealer to my house so I have to use them when i need parts for my saw. The other people in the store might be helpful but the guys in the chainsaw department are extremely unhelpful. I asked them if they had a part that i needed and the guy seemed disgruntled that I was asking and went in the back to look for it, I waited for 20 minutes and eventually i looked around and saw that he was back at the parts desk chatting with the other employees. he didnt bother to tell me whether they had the part or not and Im not even sure if he bothered to check. every time i call to ask about parts I get put on hold for at least 15 minutes and when somebody finally does answer they saw oh hi, i think youre in the wrong department im going to transfer you and I wait on hold for another 15 minutes until i eventually give up. Also they sold me the wrong size chain for my saw

Just took delivery of a beautiful Weber Gas Grill. So glad I ordered from Kroegers and didnt buy online. Hard to beat free delivery and assembly! A young man named Dean assembled my grill and made the delivery. When I asked him how many Webers he had put together, he replied, ... probably around 200 over eight years. Happy to keep my business local. All in all, a five-star experience.

Great staff. Everyone is knowledgeable and helpful, and are usually willing to go above and beyond. Easygoing atmosphere. If they dont have what you need, they can usually order it for you! If not, theyre never shy about letting you know where you can find it. Huge selection of goods; Everything from Housewares, cleaning supplies, and furniture to toys, RC and rocket supplies, outdoor gear, power equipment, and home repair supplies. You name it, they have it!

Can always find what Im looking for here. Large selection of items, just a little bit more expensive than the competition, but theyll have it.

Purchased a stihl saw. Stihl “offers” a 7 day satisfaction guarantee. Ace kroeger does not honor that manufacture’s guarantee IF you operate the equipment. This is not what Stihl advertises nor does Ace staff inform customers at the time of purchase. Buyer beware!! When this low quality, overpriced piece of plastic dies in a year I will be buying a Husquarevana or other saw which is supported by the dealer. I try to support local hardware stores, even though the prices are higher than box stores however with the poor shopping and service experience I will be taking my thousand dollar per month purchasing power to Home Depot.

An amazing store. If this store does not have what you want -- you probably dont need it. They seemed to have everything from tools to greeting cards. If you cant find it, ask! I would bet they have it. Simply amazing describes it best. I love a good hardware store.

Avoid buying low maintenance grass seed from them. Ive done everything I am supposed to and half of my seed is growing perfectly and the other half is not so Im pretty sure they sold me a bad bag of seed but they will do nothing to help me out.

I work for a local restaurant and we have a corporate account here for a reason. Keep the dollars local. Downtown convenience. I cant remember the gentlemans name with the suspenders, but he will find you whatever you are looking for, or tell you where to get it. The staff is friendly and helpful, and you never just wander around looking for anything.

Super helpful and friendly staff help to take away some of the awkwardness of asking for help with projects and the cashiers are always upbeat and everyone seems to enjoy being there. The prices are a bit more than the orange box, but at Kroegers, you can actually get help and from someone who knows what theyre talking about.

Employees very helpful. Best place to find Krylon spray paint in different colors! I had to return an item (15 roll of Velcro) I bought bc, Walmart had the same item for almost $10 cheaper. So I feel this place better for paint or hardware needs.

This is a hidden gem in Durango! They have lots inside for anyone to look at. They have a pretty established supply of Melissa & Doug toys for children as well as a small hallmark franchise set up & the usual assortment of tools & etc. This location also has a great chainsaw shop and sells a lot of chains and blades that may prove hard to get anywhere else.

I felt very unwelcome here. When I asked for help the girl seemed too busy flirting with her male coworker and just standing there to answer my question. At the register I was met with what seemed annoyance by the cashier. Despite the fact they sell a few quality brands I’ve had better service at the farm co op stores, Home Depot or Lowe’s. Do yourself a favor and take the extra minutes to drive to a different store or even an hour to Farmington for Lowe’s.

Stock is always low. Never have more then a few of each item. Good for around the house type stuff. As long as your project isnt to big.

I just spent $90 at Kroegers and will not be returning.In the middle of the pandemic and with clear advisories about face coverings, almost none of the cashiers were bothering to wear face masks. We asked the cashier and was told “the owner is not requiring it.”Really! I won’t be back.We’re all in this together.

Ive always found the folks at Kroegers to be friendly and helpful. They have a good number of staff there and its easy to find one to get your question answered if they havent asked you first. Decent prices and lots of selection. Im glad they are in town.
