Mike, David, and Kevin from Hilldrup loaded up my 2-bedroom apartment for a cross-country move and I was very pleased with my experience. They arrived EARLY (which never happens) and were very understanding when I was still at the hotel and needed a little time to get to my apartment. They were professional, sociable, and skilled at protecting my furniture, including making a custom box crate for a hand carved desk from Indonesia. It was impressive to walk out to the truck and see their Tetris packing skills, where all of my stuff took less than half of their 28-foot truck. They were done in under 4 hours, and kept conversation light during what can be a very stressful time. I would recommend this team to others!

Our driver had great communication and went over and above to make delivery of our military non-temporary storage items. Wish that the local company who provided his hard-working helper had given him the *two* helpers he requested to move the heavier items like our piano.

I dreaded moving again. We had just moved a year earlier but the landlord who was never going to sell the house sold the house. Hilldrup was outstanding from beginning to end. Chris gave an estimate which I thought was very accurate so we decided to go with Hilldrup. The crew showed up on time and worked safely, carefully and efficiently to load our furniture. It took less time than expected because they really knew what they were doing and had obviously worked together many times. It was the same story at the other end. The entire move took less time than expected and I was very pleased with the way that Elias and his crew handled everything. The shorter time meant a lower cost which was a thrill for me as I was afraid that it was going to be very expensive. We received excellent communication from Debbie throughout the process which eased the stress of the move. I have moved over 20 times in my career and this was by far the best moving crew and best moving experience ever.  I was in good hands all the way. I highly recommend!!!

Fairly good job in moving with relatively few broken items (we had broken items) but boxes were not labeled correctly and ended up all over our new home. We had to get them to load the majority of our boxes to a temporary location because we did not know which room they were to go into.

They were on time. Took care of our furniture and stuff from one destination to the next destination. Smooth transition. No problems. They were excellent.

Very happy with overall experience. Cross country move is never easy but this went about as well as we could have asked for. Having a move coordinator was a huge plus.

Hilldrup did a short haul move for us; including a third party hired for art crating and piano moving. The whole process went very smoothly. The pickup was on one day [and filled their truck to the brim!] and delivery the next day. There were no damage issues. The crew was professional and friendly and worked their butts off [the move was late July]. They even came in under the estimate!!

I am impressed with this moving company. They were recommended by my realtors company which is why we chose them. The move from our big house to our downsized house went off without a hitch and the lead man and his workers were so careful with my things.all my furniture got wrapped in blankets and they packed my wall pictures and art in separate boxes. The movers were incredibly strong. They had a moving consultant that worked with me by email to coordinate the days and times of the move out and the move in. A real bonus was that the price to move me calculated after the move was significantly less than they quoted. Celebrate!

We hired Hilldrup for a cross-country move - everything worked perfectly and was very professional from first contact to the final delivery. We had never moved with a moving company before and I have to admit that I was hesitant at first because of the rather not-so stellar reputation oft the mother company United Van Lines (at least according to some online resources). However, my initial concerns basically evaporated with Chriss initial in-house consultation. We had a couple more quotes from other companies but it was an easy decision to go with Hilldrup. Communication with the office was quick and painless (Debbie was super responsive and answered my questions via email within minutes). The two people (Daniel and Mike) packing our stuff in boxes were careful and did a great job. Loading and unloading was done by driver Dean and his crew (shame on me, cant remember their names...). Delivery happened in the estimated time window. As far as we can tell at the moment, not a single item got damaged during the move.Overall a very pleasant experience. I highly recommend Hilldrup!

They work you like a dog but pay good money. They look for people during the summer and dont want nothing to do with you during the winter. Do not work here long-term. You this job to keep money in your pocket and find another job asap.

I moved about two hours south in the same state (FL) and my experience was positive. The movers were able to pack, load, and unload in the same day. The crew was efficient and professional.

The Hilldrup crew that performed our move from Charlotte, NC to Christiansburg, VA was courteous, professional, on time, and treated our property as if it was their own. I would especially like to thank this crew for the respect and cooperativeness they extended my wife during the move. Due to circumstances she was the sole party present during pickup and delivery. I can not speak highly enough about the team of gentlemen who worked at our home yesterday. Upon arrival, Juan, Leon, Dwayne, and Larry all politely introduced themselves and set off to work immediatley. Throughout the day, they were all kind and courteous. I dont think we ever saw any of them take a break. (Did they even have lunch for goodness sake?) I was very impressed at their efficiency and work ethic. Not a single complaint (or even a grunt) was heard. There were some challenging pieces, Im sure. Mr. Larry could light up a room with his positivity. I truly enjoyed his company.I would give that team a glowing recommendation any time. Looking forward to working with them again...I loved them so much, I requested the same team to deliver my goods next week! Ms. Debbie did an amazing job as coordinator. She sent many emails to make the process run as smooth as possible, she called to check on the progress throughout the day, and has done an amazing job accomodating a shift in our schedule. Well done, team! Its been a true pleasure.

We had to do two moves in the last month and use Hilldrup for both of them. They were amazing! They were also one of the only ones who would do a binding not to exceed quote. The others offered a quote, but wouldnt stand behind it. Hilldrups quote was less, as was their final bill.Out of both moves I only had two items with any damage. That damage was minimal. I would use them again. Only I dont want to move again anytime soon

For the second time in 4 years we used Hilldrup Movers. They certainly did not disappoint! We even had some of the same crew members that originally moved us into our house. They were on time, respectful of all of our belongings - especially the very fragile ones, overprotective of our floors, walls and staircases and overall a great moving team!!! Each crew member was personable, friendly and willing to help in any way they could. We even shared a few laughs - never an easy task when you move the week of Christmas.... If we ever move again, we will always call Hilldrup - dudos to Chris Thurman, Debbie Brant, Walter, Elias and Juan and their crews. I recommend them very highly!!!!

Used Hilldrup and United Van Lines for a move out of the Triangle area. Estimate actually came in a bit higher than the real weight and had no trouble changing around a few large items a couple of weeks prior to the move. Was offered an earlier move date with guaranteed 3 day delivery (I declined). Van showed up on time and the crew was great. Once our stuff was on the truck contact was a bit more difficult. No real updates about when we might expect out stuff until we got a call the morning of the delivery (still about half a week earlier than we expected). Contact was also a bit difficult after the delivery, but despite the slow process things worked out nicely.None of our possessions were damaged and nothing was missing. Despite the difficulty in communication once our stuff was on the truck, I would definitely use Hilldrup/United again. The major concerns (damaged/missing items, long delivery time) were not a problem at all and this was a very stress free experience.

The worst experience I’ve ever had out of 16 moves I’ve done. Incompetence all around with a disrespectful team leader who had a bad attitude after 2.5 hours (it was projected for 6.5 and took them 13.5 due to miscalls by the leader and a garbage filled truck requiring two trips back and forth), came with no tools (borrowed some from my neighbor and measured things using his feet) and a dirty, garbage-filled truck and a clerical staff who hassles me for my credit card info, on paper, starting 7 days in advance of the move. Ola ed direct call to owner, John Diamond, to inform him of all the problems, but he never returned my call. Charged me full price with a briefly mentioned apology from the clerical staff. Never, ever again!

My experience with moving crews has been varied from not so good to excellent.My first interaction with Hilldrup was with Christy Ferreira my moving coordinator. Christy made sure to keep me informed every step of the way. She also made sure I knew she was available if I had any questions or needed anything.The crew sent to pack and deliver were absolutely incredible. James Morgan and his crew were professional and paid attention to every little detail. When we arrived at my new home I realized I had no hot water. The guys went above and beyond when they took a few minutes to find the fuse box and flip the breaker to the hot water heater. I know that does not sound like a big deal, but when you are stressed out, in a new place and do not know anyone having someone help u out is a really big deal.I cannot say enough about how wonderful my experience with Hilldrup has been thanks to Christy and James and his crew. You know it has been a great experience when after it is over with you feel like you have an extended family.Thank you so much!!!

One of the loaders working a local move stole two handguns. It was obvious who did it. The management told us it was not their problem. and to get lost Recently received a call that the guns had been recovered in an arrest. Very poor treatment by Hildrup.
