The rates were raised one month into the contract with no warning. Come to find out it’s in the fine print, which of course nobody tells you about..Took two trips to the office, three phone calls, and a trip to a different building just to get my unit closed out due to lazy employees. Would not recommend.

What I liked: Ease of renting on line, contactless move-in, staff friendliness/helpfulness/responsiveness, and 24 hr. accessibility. The only reason I didnt give a 10 in the survey is pricing--the prices are much higher here in northern NJ than other parts of the country. For example, my parents have a storage unit in Seattle, and pay HALF of what I pay here in NJ at the units I have in Morris and Warren Counties, and theirs is a newer climate controlled facility. The average housing cost in Seattle is $788,000, and Morris County is $495,000, so how NJ storage rates are double those in the Seattle area is very frustrating!A general comment about storage at Cube Smart facilities is that I wish all units had overhead lighting, and the option of renting some shelving.

I met Nicole and Danielle in September of 2018. I had fell on hard times, had a recent breakup, and was just down on my luck. I had to move out of my apartment and needed a storage for my son and my things. I was heartbroken, hurt, and depressed. Nicole and Danielle are more than just manager and assistant manager at this specific CubeSmart. They listen to me, they comforted me, and they took care of my needs. I NEVER had any experience like this in a very long time. They made me feel special and gave me the encouragement to keep moving on with my life. I finally found a new place and had to close out my storage today. I cant lie, it was bitter sweet. These ladies were strangers the day I walked in, in 9/2018 and as I close out my account on 1/29/2020, they are my sisters. I will NEVER forget them. I booked a 10x10 space in East Hanover NJ 07936. I could not be happier. The young woman who helped me set it up was Nicole and she could not have been more helpful. She obviously knows her business. She walked me thru every step from what plan to take, how to open the door, how to use the key pad and how to remember my code if I forget.I have been self employed most of my life. I hire people to work for me. Nicole is a good employee. She understands customer service. I would hireher to work for me. I have been storing my classic cars with this same Cube Smart location in East Hanover, NJ for the past 20 years. They always have space for me, with a reservation of course, and have taken great care of my cars for all these years. Special attention this year goes to Nicole and Kiara, as this was by far my most pleasant and easy experience in storing my car. They went out of their way to make sure I got a great storage garage unit and treated me like a very prized customer.

The process was easy with no weird hidden charges. Everything was very clear. I didnt have a single issue. The lighting for the hallway units needs some work, but wouldnt deter me from renting again. Excellent service and super easy to use.I had to store some belongings for a year while I was out of the area. Ray, the General Manager at the East Hanover location, provided comprehensive, personable, and efficient service from start to finish. He guided me through the whole process, answered all of my questions, and helped me decide which size storage unit would best meet my needs. I submitted an online request for information the night before visiting the facility, and my call was returned the next morning. The location is very easy to navigate, clean, and I really like that I am able to pull up to the unit that I rented. Plus, I am able to drive there in under 5 minutes from my house. Overall, this was a great experience, and Ray really went above and beyond. If there were an option to give him 10 stars, I would! I will definitely be recommending CubeSmart to my family and friends.

Convenience and price were very good

Management was very helpful in getting me a storage unit. It only took about 20 minutes to purchase the unit, go through the rental agreement and insurance, sign the rental agreement, get shown the unit to make sure it was proper size, and discuss payment information. You can even reserve the unit for a set date and if they are available they will hold the unit for you until set date. Plus they are less than half the price of most of the local competition. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

I have been with Cube Smart for many years. I am continually impressed by staff members. However, I have never had such a quality experience as when dealing with Danielle. I rented the truck from the facility and she took me through the whole process-offering me whatever I needed. This wasnt fake customer service-she really cared if I was OK. Im only 24 years old never done any moving of my own or rent a unit.I went in to get a unit and I was very unsure of what unit to get the lady there took me to see some unit even went back to to units 2 times till I picked the right one. Everyone there is so nice every time is go in. And one thing the was a big plus for for me was that I was able to rent a truck for free!!!!

We cant say enough positive things about Cube Smart in East Hanover. Ray Baum and Bob LaValley, Senior Manager and Manager at this location, are very sincere about their jobs and it shows. We used this location for three years, and during that time, we never had a problem with the physical unit, billing, or anything. Check around, call for rates, and also check on service and safety. Using this location will be the best thing you could do. NEVER, during the past three years were we ever concerned about our storage unit. During heavy rains, or snow, it never leaked. The only reason we emptied our unit is because we are moving out of state.
