Today was the delivery of my 4th appliance from Derby. Each visit, the sales team has been honest, straight forward, and fair. They have always beat every competitors price so far. This morning I got a call from the delivery crew with a delivery window between 10-12. They arrived at 10:30. I personally could not be there, a family member was able to stay for the delivery instead. They were nice, polite, kind, and in and out quickly. My only regret was I was not there to tip them. I have recommended them, and will continue to, as long as the level of service stays the same. Shop around, then stop in and see if they can beat the price. What can it hurt?

If you think you are saving money by buying your appliances at a big box store, think again. When I bought my house 30 years ago, I bought my washer and dryer from Derby--they are still in operation! However, when my builder dishwasher went, out of convenience, I replaced it at HD twice, before I got smart and went back to Derby, who directed me to a dishwasher that actually WORKED, and was in the same price range as the ones being sold at the big box stores. At Derby, they know what works and what doesnt, and they can save you from a lot of headaches!!!More recently, we bought a townhouse that we re-did, and bought all our appliances from Derby. Again, their entire sales staff is sooo knowledgeable. When there was a freak problem with our Bosch refrigerator, Derby intervened with Bosch to get the problem resolved. I highly recommend them to everyone!

The best place.Customer service was excellent!Delivery was next day, I was shocked.The prices were better than anywhere else & I did my homework.The whole team at Derby deserves a lot of credit.

I went to this place and the guys that work there were super nice and professional. I didnt get what I needed because they didnt have what I needed. But I definitely would recommend them to friends and family.

Great family owned business that treats you like family.

My property manager ordered an appliance from them and the delivery guy was nasty. I maneuver things around for ease of getting the product in the door and I smiled telling him I made things easy for placing products in my unit.He said, you want to make things easier for me; you should live on the first floor. To top it off, after their deliver and installer man connect the appliance, I cooked on it only for my toxic air detector went off.The appliance gives off high levels of PM10 and PM2.5 toxins. Both these toxins causes heart damage and lung damage along with a whole lot of other serious health damage.So, its good to invest in an air monitor because what you dont smell can kill you.

Clarence is awesome, the 2 stars are for him.Everyone else was nice to close the deal, but then rude and deceitful afterwards.Lots of promises that they later tell you no one ever said.Make sure you get everything in writing clearly before giving them any money.

I have been a 30 year customer of this business and I arrived there 5 mins after closing the door was open and the man inside was too busy to sell me a dryer I was paying cash and taking myself needless if you are too busy to help me I will no longer spend my hard earned money here

Walken into store, spoke to salesman was told they will email me quote by the end of the day. NEVER HAPPENED. Called the next day to confirm email NEVER HAPPENED. called the 3 time. Same thing NEVER HAPPENED. Will they get my business? WILL NEVER HAPPEN.

I have been shopping at Derby for over 25 years because of their quality service. I have gotten a dishwasher, window air conditioner, dryer and washing machine from them. Regardless of how often I call with a question, every salesperson takes their time to answer each question and always points me in the right direction based on my needs. They match prices with all the mega stores, plus Derby offers personal service, patience and years and years of expertise. I have recommended Derby to my family and friends and they were all extremely satisfied. Derby is the best! I highly recommend them - its the only place Ill shop for appliances!

The sign on the front of the store says it all! The little store with the biggest discounts. Everyone who works there is a pleasure. Most notably, the main salesman, Clarence is just an absolute joy. It is definitely worth your time to stop in and talk to them about anything you need. They will do their best to beat any price you can find and give top notch service on top of it. We are certain to be long time customers and I would refer anyone and everyone here.

My dad, who manages a 48 unit apartment complex in Fords, has been getting appliances from Derby forever, so when my husband and I purchased our first investment property they were our first stop. I absolutely understand why my dads trusted them with his business for so long - everyone who works there is friendly, knowledgable, attentive, and customer-service oriented...and their prices are great! Unfortunately my renovation project took way longer than expected, so I ended up ordering my appliances months early, and they were incredibly understanding and patient - always following up to make sure I still needed them, but never pressured me to pick them up or have them delivered before I was ready. My dads always worked with Mark, and he speaks incredibly highly of him, but my point of contact for this project was Scott, whos funny demeanor made me smile every time I spoke with him. Thank you so much for your great service and great prices! I will absolutely buy my appliances from Derby in the future, and recommend them to anyone who needs to do the same :)

They told me go find what I wanted and then come back for the best price. And thats what they did. Clarence and Scott were great. The installers were on time, courteous and professional. We had a few questions in the process and the service was great. Well done.

I went in to look at a washer and dryer and was IMMEDIATELY attended to by Mark. Super AWESOME conversation we had about front and top load washer and dryers. Im in the process of purchasing a home and will probably try to make it it back to Derby. I wasnt PRESSURED into buying anything like other places. There was a kind of comfort to just looking around and not feeling like you need to be forced to buy something.You dont get that kind of knowledgeable conversation nowadays. I went in looking for a kitchen set and I spoke to a gentleman name Clarence I must say out of all the places the customer service here has been amazing he really went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and reassured about questions I had. If you want honest customer service and someone who is not trying to pressure you this is the place and I highly recommend speaking to Clarence he will go above and beyond to help you with your needs. This is a great little store. When you go in, you will see the retail prices listed. Don’t worry, they discount everything. They are great. I’m sure all the other sales people are fine but I’ve bought multiple appliances from Clarence over the years and he is awesome. He is patient, knowledgeable, and a nice guy.

Updated review.I had called the store several times to ask about a second model, if they could get it, and how much. I talked to Clarence once on the phone and he was going to find out and call back. Never did. I called a couple more times but never heard back. Took my business elsewhere._________________I really liked this place. I have been shopping for a range and dishwasher for a couple weeks and have gone to several stores. This was the most comfortable experience that Ive had so far.I worked with Clarence and found him personable and helpful. I didnt purchase my appliances today, but expect to go back and finish the process with him.

They are very polite but dont know what they are doing. They pressured for me but measured all wrong. Fridge and stove did not fit without major alterations. Had to cancel order

Derby is a great local appliance store. Their delivery guys are great and go the extra mile, always appreciated when putting new appliances in old homes with small doors- getting the new fridge in required taking the doors off it, and they handled it with ease. The in-store selection is not huge but they can order anything you want and give you a good deal as well. We buy all our appliances there, its worth it just for the delivery and installation services.

Clarence was an extremely nice guy. He made us feel at ease and not at all pressured. Will definitely be going back for other appliances

I am giving three stars based on my current and past experiences, which were mixed. Positive: Last year I bought a washer from Derby in New Brunswick in the enterprise zone with 3.5% sales tax, experience was great, price same as big box stores - but Derby included in that price the delivery, installation, all parts required AND hauled away old machine. The installation was great. Negative: This past week our dryer gave up the ghost, so I was looking Saturday night at dryer prices. If you’re not familiar with Derby, they don’t post prices, you need to get with them or online you could click and ask for a quote. So I did. That’s Saturday evening, they’re closed Sunday, which is fine, but I heard nothing Monday, Tuesday, or this morning. Actually, they did send me an email full of blanks where the numbers should have been. So I figure I’ll go to the New Brunswick location. Looked at Derby’s site and got the address - when I got there their storefront was now empty. Could have called I guess, but why would you leave that information on your site? Okay, so then I go to Highland Park store and I walk in, salesperson says I’ll be right with you. He’s working with a couple, so no problem, I look at all the appliances in the store - start to think maybe we can do our kitchen soon! Then I’ve looked at every appliance in the store. But when he’s done with this couple, he’s not “right with me.” Without a word, he turns to some [delivery?] guy there and starts talking to him as though I wasn’t even there! Doesn’t even look at me. At that point I walked out. If it hadn’t been for the other screw-ups, I might have made more of an effort to engage him, if he wasn’t going to engage with me. I’m all for shopping local, but when you throw a bunch of stumbling blocks in the way - jeez! It’s a waste of my time. May try them again another time though.

Very easy purchase of a new washing machine. I decided to buy an extended warranty, and they registered the machine for me and sent me the paperwork, which meant the amount of work I had to do was zero. They picked up my old machine and installed the new one for me. Everything went great! The delivery people were very careful with getting my old machine down two flights of stairs and getting the new one up to my place. I was very impressed with the whole experience and already recommended them to some friends.

Whenever I need a new appliance, Derby is my go-to store. I recently purchased a new washing machine and Clarence McLendon was the best of the best! He explained the features, worked with me on the price and had it delivered in a timely fashion. KUDOS and Bravo Clarence! I also need to acknowledge Matt and Rashad the delivery men. They were spectacular in working with me to make sure they didnt damage anything getting the new washer down my very narrow basement stairs. Not only are they the little store with the biggest discounts, at Derby Appliance they make the whole experience of purchasing a new appliance pleasurable and memorable! I highly recommend them.

Bought a commercial washer/dryer combo. The guys took the time to look up the specs and answer questions. I can in on Saturday night and hour before closing and they have arranged the delivery for Monday morning. There was a small leak discovered a couple days after the install. The store reacted promptly and repaired the leak.

Best place for appliance. Dont go to Pcxxxx, just come here

We thought the local appliance store would have a better customer service. Unfortunately, we were treated rudely over the phone. We were promised that someone is going to return a call to schedule for a measurement. We waited 2 days, no one return the call. When I called again, the person said they forgot to call and asked us to wait again.Poor management and poor customer service. Can you imagine what would they do if there is a problem with their product after installation? Probably they will hang up the phone on you and you will never hear them again.Going back to Homedepot!
