My kids love this place they have every type of book you need you get to get 6 used books and one new book of your choice. It is wonder for your book worm at home. They even have a story time on Saturdays!

Books are Gems is one of the best places in El Paso for kids. All kids receive one brand new book and 5 used books. Plus they have story time online. My kids love it and its a great way to keep kids reading and recycle books!

As of Friday, July 2, 2021, currently closed. They said they were opening back up in two-three weeks. I advise calling first! Owners were very nice and have my baby a free board book.

So many emotions to express my love for this place. Staff is always a delight. Even the books I cant find in regular bookstores I find it there. My kids enjoy it as well. So much teaching material where you can boost a childs education. The book store is awesome and addicting!!!

What an amazing place to find books. Most childrens books are free (up to five?) My kids LOVED choosing their books. Restrooms are clean. The building is clean, and renovations are impressive. I cant say enough good things about this place. I recommend everyone at least a visit to check it out.

Excellent place for the kids to get their books each month. Kids must be present to receive their free books (5 used and 1 new) each month. The teacher resource center is full of a variety of free items. Story time on Saturday’s are a blast

This place is great. It is a hidden gem. My kids really enjoyed being able to get some free books. I was able to purchase others for a great deal. The people there are really nice. If you have kids you have to check this place out. You can also help them out by donating some of your books too.

This place is an amazing non-profit organization. Every kid 18 and under gets 5 free NEW books a month from the childrens section. Teachers get ten free NEW books a month from the childrens section a month as well. They do have teen and adult books for great prices. Those books might be a little beat up but are in good condition most of the time. They take monetary donations that go to getting new books to give away. Donated books end up for sale as well. Great volunteers! I would recommend this place with a passion!

Very helpful to visit if you have children that need to read books for Book it program and school. Used books are in great condition and theres a very good selection. The place is very organized.

I gotta say I’ve been a client of this store for a while now, but I must say that on 03/09/20 was the worst experience I’ve ever had with this place! A lady there who is cleaning and fixing up the books was rude to me by “assuming” without any proof! She starting accusing me, but she has no proofs against me I got yelled at and she made me feel like I wasn’t welcome anymore after I’ve been one of the best customers they have ever had!!! Don’t know I will If I will be coming back

Great place to find all kinds of new and used books! This non-profit organization gives children and teachers free books on a monthly basis. They also accept book donations from the community and in turn sell books for $1 hardcover/.50¢ paperback. You really cant beat that!

Good place to take the Lil book worms in the family. They get a cho6of 1 new book and 5 used good condition books. They can spend all the time reading. Nice quite Lil place. Parents can purchase books for pennies!! 🖒

Amazing place! My kids and I have been going for a couple of years now. They are a non-profit organization for kids. Every kid who enters this facility gets to choose 5 used books and 1 brand new book.. each month! Parents can choose up to 25 used books per 6 months period. Teachers/home educators can choose unlimited amounts of teaching resources from the teachers lounge. They also have books for adults for an extremely low price. Im talking books like Shakespeare, Stephen King, etc., for $.50 each! Doesnt get any better than that.

My kids love coming from here. Its a great place to get book that your kids get excited for. The best part is that kids pick them out and can take them home. The staff are great they answer any questions the kids have about any book.

I came here looking for just a book but I ended up making out like a bandit. I found a 3 piece Faulkner set, a John Steinbeck classic, and a couple of J.D. Salinger classics. All for under 3 dollars. I couldnt believe it when they told me the price.If youre looking for a book for your child or for yourself, you best look here first. They also take donations.

This place is a must dtop for avid readers, they have great books, and some are free, or reslly super low cost.

A simple way to have books even if they are used and once a month you can grab a totally new book

I went to this store in the middle of the day on a Wednesday. The sign said they closed at 5 but when I arrived around 2pm the sign said closed and the door was locked and the lights were off. Not going to be trying again.
