I have planned out my dream bookstore many times in my mind. Today, I walked right into it! It was the perfect balance of new and timeless books and books I never knew existed; it is full of treasures. Literarity is perfectly organized and allows for endless comfortable browsing. The owner let me browse for as long as I wanted in peace, which I always appreciate, but when I engaged him in conversation he was lovely to talk to and made me love the shop even more. I live 10 hours from El Paso, but I will make sure I stop in EVERY time I am back in town. I wish my town had a bookstore experience like Literarity.

I heard of Literarity a few years ago and always wanted to visit. Fortunately, I was able to visit on my last day in town before moving out of El Paso. I had recently graduated, and was looking for a gift for myself and a friend who also graduated. I had some ideas in mind and Bill, the store owner, was able to help me track down exactly what I was looking for. My friend and I love his book recommendations!Even though it was near closing time, he took the time to chat with me and did not rush me. We talked a bit about our journeys to where we are today and where we are going. He was very kind, offered me his contact info in case I needed help to where I was moving, and even gifted me the book that I had chose for myself.Literary is a hidden gem within the hidden gem that is El Paso. I am so glad I was able to visit before I moved away and regret not having made more visits prior to moving. Given all that El Paso has been through in the last several years, these books are nostalgic reminders of my wonderful time living and studying in El Paso.Thank you so much, Bill, for such a fond way to leave El Paso.

I browsed the extensive variety of books (I felt like a kid in a candy shop) and some of the books were even signed by the author! I left the store with books to last me at least a month and I will be coming back very very soon. Please note that google maps will take you to the wrong place behind the actual shopping center (Pepper Tree Square) where the book shop is located. A total gem! I visited a couple of months ago, and while the store was technically closed, Bill let us in to browse. My boyfriend and I pretty much have non-overlapping reading interests, and we both left with multiple books. He was also able to make some great recommendations as I was looking for a good gift for a book-loving friends kid. It was a beautiful hardcover that I thought would be 2 or 3 times more than it actually cost!Bill offered to ship the books as we didnt have space to bring it back with us to NY. The books arrived, carefully wrapped and in perfect condition. He even emailed to make sure he had the address correct.Highly recommended if you are in El Paso, whether you are a book lover or just literate. There are beautiful collections of classics to enjoy visually, and Id bet Bill and his wife (and co-shop owner) could find something for you. Enjoy!!

Literarity offers the experience only a locally owned store can offer. Bill, the owner of the store, puts his time and effort into the selecting his books, caring for his customers to the best of his ability, and trying to establish a sense of community at the store. The main thing that sets Literarity apart from all the other places you might be able to buy books today is an honest care for giving the best experience to anyone coming into the store. If he doesnt have what you are looking for, he can usually suggest something that you may not have otherwise read. I lived in El Paso for 3 years and Bill widened my reading, always brightened my day, and sold me a lot of my favorites in my collection. I encourage visitors to talk to Bill and ask him about specific books, as he owns more books than are on display due to the limited square footage. If you ask for it chances are he will have it or be able to get it. He is extremely versatile in the amount of genres he can speak articulately and eloquently about. Bill himself is as great a resource as his wonderful bookstore. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and adds a lot to the community feel of El Paso.
