Coffee is decent just don’t come during peak hours. Have been waiting 30 minutes for one cappuccino!
Extremely friendly staff. They were very helpful in helping me choose what donuts I should get and also were very patient with me as I was taking a long time to choose. Also the donuts are some of the best donuts I’ve had in my life. Highly recommend this store if you want delicious fresh donuts.
Super friendly staff. The yogurt definitely is not my style though lol
Thought Id give this small local shop since I enjoy supporting local. Big mistake here! Snotty staff was rude. On top of that the food was terrible and tasted freezer burned and microwaved. Good riddance!
Lavender tea was delicious. The donuts were just okay. My breakfast took over 30 minutes to come out. I had to call several times to get the refund.
Delicious food and coffees, great customer service, i just hate that there is never a place to sit, its always packed with people on their laptops. I just wish i could sit and enjoy my food and coffee freshly made. I am also not too happy with the limited menu. Over all everything is very delicious and the staff is friendly.
The coffee and espresso here are wonderful! The store is a bit small for dining in, but the atmosphere has an inviting diner-type draw to it. The staff are always friendly and helpful, as well.
Staff member helped me find a drink that I liked and place was very clean with a good atmosphere
I ordered a cup of their light roast; it was old cold coffee. A server should know better. Bad experience! We wont be going back.
This place was awesome! They have a wide variety of donuts such as, Peanut Butter and Jelly to cookies and creme. They also have those specialty coffees that you see all over Instagram. The atmosphere was inviting and cozy and the staff was very friendly. Parked on a Hillside (Hints the name) on Zaragoza in El Paso. I definately recommend stopping by.
I would like to start of by saying I only came here because of the Mesa location and their standards of excellence. However the east side location falls short of the west side reputation. While the front desk girl was extremely friendly and attentive I was my coffee to stay in a paper cup and had to ask for a ceramic mug. These things are tiny!!! WTH?? Then I ordered the classic bacon egg sandwich.( expecting the delicious Siracusa drenched egg white to yellow differential egg patty and soft cloud like bun) I was given this half Starbucks half McDonald’s looking sad fellow of a sandwich with cold yellow (what I am willing to bet can be sourced to Walmart) cheese like square in the middle. In a paper box, not a plate. . . I am extremely sad after my meal. And I feel like somebody tricked me out of 15 bucks. Maybe if I had never gone to the west side hillside I might think this place is ok, however this is not the case and I really hope this doesn’t happen to anybody else. Please source your ingredients responsibly or something needs to change cause I am not very likely to come back or recommend this place any time soon! Coffee was good! Thus the 2 stars, pastry was almost as good as the counter part. A little undercooked!
I’ve visited this place twice and the second time the customer engagement was better :) the coffee was good, a little burnt on the first visit but perfect on the second. :) the donuts I had on both visits were real good. :) the large cups they use for ice tea is a bit small for the price :/ but my mom enjoyed the tea nonetheless. :) My mom did really enjoy the Cubano sandwich :) Music was a bit too loud for my taste and it made it a bit hard to hear my mom talk. However the joint is a good place to visit.
Well my wife and I went in for a selection of donuts but we were a little disappointed with the small selection. You cant compare them to Dunkin, Krispy Kreme, or most of the local donut shops. Seems most of the selection is on the coffee side, the donuts we got were soft but just didnt satisfy enough in taste for another return.
This coffee & donut shop is not Krispy Kreme or Dunkin, and thats the whole point! If you want to grab a ton of cheaply made donuts, dont go here. But if you want bomb coffee, amazing donuts, and a great atmosphere, this is your spot.I always go for the chocolate glazed & blueberry glazed. I had the Abuelita Mocha this morning, and it was great.Cut the staff some slack! They were very friendly.
The morning staff is always courteous, super friendly and always quick to get your order out quickly. Plus they always wear their mask, a definite must for me. Hazelnut, Carmel, Vanilla Latte is delicious and all the pastries! You need to try it, trust me!
Ive had berry shakes and coffee. The wifi and service are perfect.
Much better than that other place with the fraps and stuff
Great coffee! Got there too late for donuts. My son loved the smoothie. We intend to go back for breakfast or lunch. Menu looks good. Nice and helpful young lady that works there.
Yoooooooooooooo dont go to sleep on their cookies. I dont even like chocolate chip. And im on a diet. Id definitely have those again. I dont drink coffee either. So happen, a cars & coffee event was there. I enjoyed it
I went through the drive-thru today and it was a really nice experience. The building is very nicely decorated and not easy to miss. It is in a populated area. I went at rush hour for traffic but there wasnt a lot of wait in the line and service was very rapid. I ordered an abuelita chocolate latte and the chocolate abuelita dozen donuts. The latte was delicious, especially if you dont like strong coffee but still want a bit of a kick. The medium size was a good size for about 5 dollars. I paid around ten dollars for a dozen of donuts. Their donuts taste homemade and get this... The donuts were SQUARE! I was super impressed by the box the donuts came in and the amazing taste of the donuts. My only complain was that the donuts were cold when we ate them but it was easy to just pop into the microwave for about 30 seconds. I truly enjoyed this place, I will come back whenever Im in town again
We were a little nervous after ready the variety of reviews but visited this morning and the 5 stars are WELL EARNEDMy husband had the Cortado, I had an iced Abuelita Mocha with almond milk, and we shared a chorizo, egg, and cheese sandwich. The coffees came out quickly and were delicious! The wait for the sandwich was worth it. We have been to come brunch/cafes and its obvious the sandwiches are premade and reheated but that was not the case with Hillside. The sandwich was awesome!Cant wait to come back and try more :)
Took almost an hour between drive thru and waiting in the parking spot to receive my order when I was told it would take 20 minutes. Even from the time I got my receipt till I received my order was approximately 45 min.
How do you call yourself a coffee and donut company with only 3 options for donuts.Let me be clearer, its not that they run out of donuts thats the problem. Its the fact that their donut show case is only big enough to display 3-4 types of donuts. This place does not have enough space dedicated to donuts to be called a donuts shop.
As Ive been to the west side location several times, I am really happy they opened up an east side location . The staff here are a lot friendlier and loved the atmosphere and decor . Inside is a bit smaller but a lot of seating outside, great for patio conversations over coffee. Also big plus, theres a drive thru!!!
Is just an okay place, doughnuts were out of stock by 11 am
I go twice a week and special order my coffee with no issues, but today I was told by a young lady that they don’t do that. We asked why her reply is that she doesn’t do that, and she didn’t have time!
One of my fav coffee shops in town! You must try the abuelita donut!!!! My favorite drink would also be the the abuelita latte!
Great tasting, smooth espresso. Quick service. Barista was very friendly. Gave our dog some whipped cream for the road too.
Very nice atmosphere love the aesthetic of the place and the coffee is really good
My wife loved the Green Chile Scramble. In her words, “It was unexpected, it was a well-balanced nutritious meal for the price of a calorie packed value meal at fast food chains.” It had your eggs topped with green chile, not too spicy, three strips of bacon, broccoli, and tomatoes. The Abuelita Mocha was awesome. The drink reminds me when I visited my family in Mexico. You wake up early to have that smell fill the house; you know it’s going to be a good morning. The Chorizo and Egg Sandwich tasted homemade. It was some good chorizo! My daughter likes pink sprinkled donuts and the Doh-nut hit the spot while I opted for the Cowgirl, a fluffy, cream topped, strawberry jam stuffed pastry that my wife polished off. The staff was on their game. So if you want an awesome start to your day on the Far East or Westside, I recommend to start your day here.
Can employees not take the extra 5 sec to mention a dozen donuts is $4 cheaper than half dozen? thats how you turn 1st time customers into last time customers.plus they were hard.
Highly disappointed in this place. I waited 2 months to come here because I wanted to bring my step son to have their delicious doughnuts and let’s just say my expectations weren’t met, AT ALL. We walk into this place and there’s nobody at the counter. When the girl finally came up to the counter, I asked her if the doughnuts on the display counter were the only ones available and she said yes, in a way like I should of known that answer. (Mind you I’ve never been here) She pretty much was rushing me to figure out what I wanted (on my first visit) with 3 other people to order for. These doughnuts looked (and tasted) like they were leftover doughnuts from the previous day. Terrible first time experience, way overpriced for what I got, won’t be going back.
Expensive. Slow. Not great. Paid $27 for soggy food and two iced teas that were served 15 minutes apart. I expected sophisticated but felt more like an over-priced college dive. First time visitor and not likely to return. When you try some place new, you roll the dice I guess.
Love this place! Moved to El Paso back in the Spring and just found this place a month ago. SO GLAD I FNALLY CAME HERE! Food is always fresh and perfect and the donuts are to die for! Cant wait to bring my family here when they have a chance to visit.
Nice little place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning.
Visiting from Illinois. Found this donut place randomly and OMG!!! These are the best donuts i have ever tasted. So naturally done with fresh ingredients. Do yourself a favor and have it!
Without customer service we were waiting about 10 minutes ready to order and the person never showed up to take our order 🙄 we had to leave without our coffees and a donuts
Love their Cold Brew honey and milk! I just wish it opened earlier so I could have it on my way to work! Seasonal donuts are always good too!
Great tasting donuts and recently had the breakfast sandwiches which are stacked with egg!! Very delicious turkey and egg also the egg and bacon sandwich as well. The iced latte hazelnut caramel is on point. Will frequent more often for them breakfast sandwiches definitely worth the $6
I got hot Macha tea once and I loved it. Yesterday tried it again and it was cold, but flavor was not mixed good, towards the end it was extremely sweet. I would still try it again since first time I loved it
Great Coffee and relaxed atmosphere.1st time customer and would highly recommend. Will be returning. Great service! =)
Had a couple rude encounters with the employees. They also don’t have the “deals” they say they do. Their donuts are good but NEVER ready early & they make about 10 since they are sold out within a few minutes. Could be better
Ive been here a couple of times and coffee is great. This last time I visited I have to say I wasnt pleased. I ordered a cappuccino and what I got wasnt one. I got a large cup of milk with a splash of coffee. I think I will be sticking with Starbucks.
1st bad experience ever but it was bad. Other than waiting 25 min. for 1 Americano, i get to the window and he wants to charge me for the $50 tab in someone behind me. Confused, he asks what I ordered and asked if I talked with anyone. Well yes, I did. He takes my order and I get it another 10 min. later. Drive off because now I’m late for my appt. take a sip and it’s not even my Americano w/ heavy cream. It’s a light freaking coffee with milk! 35 min later, $5 and it’s the worst start to my Saturday!
Hillside opens at 7 am. I went through the drive through at 8 am to order a dozen donuts only to be told their donuts werent ready yet! Ive never heard of a coffee, donut and breakfast item business be open an hour and not have their main products to sell. Unreal! Will not be returning to their business.
I absolutely love their coffee and the service is incredible, never met nicer staff at a coffee joint
Great service!!! Always friendly costumer service the coffee is awesome Im a very satisfied costumer love getting my coffee here its better than Starbucks I love that when I moved here I found this coffee spot, they dont have Dutch coffee here like in Colorado so this was a great find in El Paso I now love Hillside Coffee
Great taste and selection. The service can sometimes be really great, while other times it can be kind of bland.
I absolutely love this company. The coffee is always delicious, food is excellent, and now they serve beer and wine?! So perfect. I do wish they had more tables but I love the vibe. And I always appreciate the monthly social event calendar.
This place has a great cup of coffee .....when they get it right. Coffee usually has to be reheated when you get home but honestly it is really good... I would rather come here despite a few challenges
Food is good, the family had sandwiches. Drive thru is convenient, West location does not have one. Ordered a few donuts, which were okay. Will have to come back to try breakfast and coffee sometime.
First time getting coffee here, even though I only live down the street. Great coffee!
I wanted to love it but, the donut was not good. Tasted like it was fried in old oil. Coffee was decent but nothing to rave about.
Ive only tasted the coffee so far, but it is delicious! Every time Ive been there the coffee has always tasted delicious. It is turning into my favorite place to get coffee.
Terrible customer service. Painstakingly slow. West side location is much better
I love the lattes but service is painstakingly slow! I sat in the drive thru for 5 minutes before anybody took my order. I was able to get my coffee but not my food because the cook wasn’t in. How are you going to put items on the menu but not schedule, what seems to be, the ONLY employee that knows how to make sandwiches??
Good donuts and good coffee. Service was good too!
Their abuelita mocha is delicious, I cant wait to taste it iced. Their sandwiches are very good too but the wait is pretty long
This is a great place for a hearty American Breakfast.
First time I visited, they had ran out of donuts. I dont see how a coffee and donut shop could run out of donuts. The following morning I arrived right after they opened, and donuts are not yet ready. Im told to wait another half hour! Employees do not seem to care. This shop is out of my way, but i visited trying to support local businesses. Not coming back.
They have a unique tasting coffee bean blend with square donuts that are filling but not too sweet. I particularly enjoyed their blueberry iced green tea. They have lovely outdoor seating that is really nice when the weather allows.
Good quality donuts and amazing coffee!!!☕️🍩⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Love their cold brew! Donuts are unfortunately a hit or miss, but overall still a great place to hang out and study. They have breakfast options like sandwiches which are definitely worth trying! Staff is always friendly and accommodating!
Everything tastes amazing, when they have it. Which is almost never. Even before covid, you might only be able to get a quinoa bowl for breakfast, because none of their breakfast items were in stock. While they can only serve two flavors of donuts during this time, they don’t stock drink ingredients consistentlyEdit: Thank you, management, for reaching out, but I dont have any plans to return to this location. Thanks, again, though. Be well!
Horrible owner, management is great but there are too many instances of dealing with terrible people who owns a great business. what a shame
I’ve visited this location several times hoping for each time to be just a tiny bit better.. why is it so bad when the west location is so good.
I love the Abuelita Mocha hot coffee!!! It taste like chocolate abuelita, They also have it in donuts but I havent tried them yet.
Very disappointed, worker came out with his phone looked at us and decided to not serve us and lWent to the kitchen and there was not even a single customer waiting. He didnt even bother to greet. 09/13/20 at 7:50 pm
I like the place, nice service and the coffee is pretty good!!!
Customer service was not good. The doughnuts tasted 3 days old (the edges were stale) and the only available options were powdered or chocolate glazed. Absolutely would not recommend and will not return. 2 stars because the coffee was just okay.I understand there are restrictions on small businesses due to covid so the limited options is forgivable. Serving stale doughnuts is not okay. We threw them away after 3 bites.
Nice environment however I didnt get to try anything from the menu. Only 1 young lady and she acknowledged me then kept on doing what she was for about 7 minutes ..I just left
I will stick to the West side location. There are some inconsistencies in how drinks are made. Cortados I ordered were made very differently from one day to the next.
The donuts are not anything special. They have a weird texture. I took a bite of the pink one, fully expecting it to be strawberry flavor and it was bubblegum flavor, it grossed me out. The coffee was alright and the prices were reasonable. The restaurant is very small but clean
So good! I tried their iced vanilla latte and it was delicious. They have many different/fun donuts to try. I suggest going in the morning though so your donuts are nice and fresh. Cool atmosphere inside too, very modern/hipster.
Very nice environment, great place to study or get work done. Also great coffee and donuts!
I set 5 stars on my first visit to this location but now on my second visit I notice the same thing, all tables are taken with people studyingng or working on their laptop. One table with one person and her or his table, with an empty cup of coffee. I know, I was a student too. But what happen when all tables are taken and the clients come and want to enjoy the place? They leave to a place were there are room for students and for coffee drinkers. My recommendation for you is that ask the people with computer to use ONLY the 2 big tables leaving the other tables to regular clients.
Had been wanting to try this place. My coffee was a bit cold. I wanted to sit but there was not anywhere to sit only outside. Honestly it was cold. Kinda a turn off. Dont think Im going to return.
Hazelnut Vanilla iced latte is seriously the best 🙈 also the egg chorizo sandwich 🙌🏼 and service is always amazing 😉
The donuts and cookies n cream frappe lacked any kind of sweet flavor, probably just a minor experience mistake- BUT the customer service was so great, my church group and I had a great experience there.. No dirty looks or anything when we prayed, other tables were enjoying themselves as well. And Surprisingly customers just kept on coming in for such a small space😀 I will keep going back. Thanks again.❤
No customer service. Girls are rude and very impatient. Took them 35 min to make 1 simple sandwich. Egg and chorizo sandwich horrible by the way.
Warm, relaxing atmosphere. The baked goods are homemade and the lattes are always hot (thats how I like them). Give them a try; you will not be disappointed.
There was a mixup with the ordersBut despite the trouble the food outshined every thing elseThe breakfast of really good
We always make a point to try all the local coffee shops when we move somewhere new. Hillside did not disappoint. The coffee was quite good and had one of the best glazed donuts Ive ever had.
Always a pleasure coming in to relax!
👍
