Thought it was time to finally leave a review! Ive been shopping at Olivas Music for YEARS! Each time Im greeted with excellent customer service and provided with the supplies my child needs. Recently my husband and I went and had to wait a little long, but what can we expect when its their busiest time of the year and, not to mention, everyone in America is short staffed! I have never been here before today, but it was an overall great experience. There was a line due to kids going back to school and needing instruments, but the man in charge informed everyone of the wait and answered any questions that I asked in the meantime. The young lady at the front Poula was amazing and explained everything in detail and answered all my questions confidently. Granted there was a wait, but it was well worth it🙌🏼 Awesome job guys 👌🏼

I want to give a huge shout out to the gentleman who helped me rent 2 clarinets today. Employee ID-AXZARUR. I was in a time crunch and he helped me make it back on time to pick up my kids. He was very knowledgeable and courteous. It was my first time going to the store so I was not aware of the whole process on renting or the accessories I needed. Thank you so much for all your help.

Website clearly stated masks optional. Nope. Got yelled at in the middle of the store as soon as I walked in. When I said I was there to BUY a keyboard TODAY, only then were they willing to serve me. Left and spent my $600 at Guitar center. If they’re going to bow down to the dictator El Paso judge they should at least update their website.

The wait was long, BUT the staff was very helpful and patient. They treated every customer with the time and attention every customer should get while at any business. Kudos. Great Job!

I needed to rent an instrument for my middle schooler. They made it easy. If youre military with an out of state ID please make sure you bring a copy of your utility bill showing your el paso address.

Im giving it two stars only because the employees were extremely slow . I understand that there was only two people cashiering but still the time it took was ridiculously long I was there for an hour and a half . Other than prices are ok.

Service is really slow.Was standing in line for 1 hour.

I have gone to olives before however this time I was going to buy marching shoes and they did not have the shoe sizes I needed to get fitted and they told me I would just have to take a risk and buy them and if they didn’t fit I would not be able to get a refund nor and exchange. I personally think that is not fair.

I went in and asked to get my alto saxophone repaired and the next day they had it ready. The service was excellent. I greatly appreciated the technician Julio Moralez hands on attitude. He made sure to ask me how the damage happened and he explained to me how he was going to fix my the instrument. He also let me play my instrument after it was ready to see what I thought. If anything ever happens to my instrument again I know who to go to.

Been in business with them for over 3 years now. Every time we go, its a pleasant experience. Wont change them for any other store.

When speaking to instrument repair individual, he tried to make it seem like the service and products were unique but I learned it was standard for flute repair/maintenance. On top of that, the price was 2-3 times what I was use to, being I’m from the East Coast. I don’t believe I’ve gotten what I’ve paid for, but have overpaid each time.

Second time I’ve been there and they take too long to ring me up. They greet me, get what I want, and then 20 minutes to figure out how to use the register. However, never had any issues with the merchandise

Military families - beware! This store is not considerate of military families in transition. Short story: They would not rent us an instrument while we were waiting for housing on Fort Bliss. I highly recommend Berties Music instead.Heres the full story:We were waiting on housing after our move to El Paso, and needed to rent an instrument for my son to continue his practice and lessons. I went to the store, and was told that they needed a utility bill showing a permanent El Paso address. I offered multiple forms of ID, including military ID. I offered to leave a deposit for the instrument. I offered my information for them to run a credit check. They said a supervisor wasnt available, but would run my credit later and call me. They did not call back, so I called again. The manager would not speak to me directly, but told his staff member on the phone with me that they would not run our credit or rent to us until we had permanent housing.Berties Music, on the other hand. rented us a beautiful, brand new instrument based on my military ID. They were very understanding of the challenges of military moves.

I just went to rent a flute for a utep student but they just told me they’re only renting for middle school, so what’s the point if this business?

Very good prices on instruments. You can lease, buy, or lease to own. They will work with you and have different pay plans available. You do have the choice of either getting a new instrument or a slightly used one.

I went there to just buy some violin accessories for my boyfriend as a gift since hes starting to learn and the customer service was great! I loved looking at their display of violins and other instruments, which brought great memories of the time I used to play. I also liked how neat, simple, and organized their shop was.

We come here for all of my sons instrument needs. Though I was disappointed that I could not rent a tuba as I was able to in Florida. I do understand why they do not allow it. The staff has always been helpful and Mr. Olivas is a very nice person.

I had to get repairs on my clarinet, for s crack and a messed up pad. The pad and crack fixing was a very good price compared to what I expected. They did a superb job sealing up the crack, and cleanly replaced the pad. I strongly recommend this place for business.

Customer service above and beyond, Mr. Moralez took time yesterday evening to fix my daughters Cello fine tuners. He didnt have to, since it was after hours, but he did not hesitate to help her, so she can continue her journey as a Cellist this weekend . Thank you for such awesome customer service.Yet again great Customer service from Mr. Moralez, helped my daughter out in no time with her Cello . I dont recoment this place because I tried to rent a violin and the store manager denied the service because I am under unemployment.I think this is discrimination because a lot of people are under unemployment due to the pandemic

Staff doesnt seem too knowledgeable about the instruments. I dont really trust their repair staff because the flute still had air leaks after getting adjusted. it probably needed more new pads and reseating which they didnt consider necessary, had to take it back a second time to confirm whether there was still something wrong or not. when cashier tried to assemble and disassemble my clarinet he handled it roughly, gripping it on all the keys and twisting, which could have done damage, Im just glad it was only a student model. I only go here cause its one of the only options in town.

Really bad experience. They told me my instrument was going to be ready with in a week they took almost a month and they returned it the same way plus a crack in my instrument.

They made my son look stupid, when it came to taking care of his Trombone. He has been playing it for 6 years, and knows how to clean it and stuff!!
