Be very careful with the Mileage out when picking up and Mileage in when returning the vehicle from this location!!! Since they charge by the mile, they seem to massage these numbers in their favor and you may be overcharged. In addition, they had my credit card on file and somehow they attempted to charge me for nothing out of the blue which appeared as fraud on my account. Just be careful here!

Spoiled my birthday gift. My company ordered a Reefer box truck days in advance. A day before pickup, we noticed that our reservation wasnt working online. Our company called them on the day of pick up, we were told they given away our reefer. This was totally unfair. They offered a 24 ft dry van instead so we said well take it because we can use it. We I arrived, the Hino truck had a squeaking noise coming from the engine and the lighter port wasnt working. Even if I used the truck in that condition, the lighter port is important to run my cameras and gps. I had to cancelled. Thanks Penske, youre bogus.

Told the guy my headlight was out... He sighed a bit then proceeded to tell me they both were working. I was in the fuel island so i took his word for it. Yup soon as i got back to base, the headlight was out just as i told him. Then i remembered how he shrugged when i asked him to replace it initially. I figure he lied. Older Caucasian man with big brownish beard. So i had to RETURN the very next day when i was pretty busy to go back to get it fixed🤬 this time a younger Hispanic guy fixed it with no problem

RYAN SCOTT was so rude to me on the phone I will never do business again with Penske!And neither will any of my large influencers online or my large influence in business. I do business with a large number of corporations and I will be letting them know renting with Penske is a no go! I’m so shocked at the business ethics this company is suppose to be upholding and as a Consumer Development Manager at that. He could give no proof of the termination/no rent list that was in the original contract, refused to provide any paper work showing the termination, and lied about the degree of the truck after the drive.He was unwilling to answer questions on the phone, he was super aggressive in tone. Sad that Penske has someone like that representing such a large corporation and pushing customers away from your business.I hope in the next hiring process u dig deeper into your employees backgrounds and character!

My company leases from Penske and we go to this particular one in Elk Grove for service on our trucks. We usually leave it there over night and we get “subs” for our truck... a loaner.Rental has young lady working at the desk. I want to say her name is Arianna. She definitely goes above and beyond. She looks out for the clients that she deals with. Very polite. Service with a smile. The whole nine yards! She set me up in a newer truck than I had requested. Great service!

Paul is an amazing coordinator! He was very responsive and made the experience perfect. He had a great attitude and was very helpful. The Penske truck was impeccably clean, drove smoothly, and had no issues with returning the vehicle/keys. I drive over the road and dropped off truck to get serviced. Now this is my house and whoever serviced it was really nasty i have grease on my bed,floor,rugs,seat and steering wheel. Very uncalled for. Not sure why they had to go in sleeper area. SmhCant complain about the work performed or the facility itself.

I am currently setting up to come and do a lease purchase from these guys here soon, very soon. On an 18 wheeler for this new contract that I am about to start, so far all of the messages have been more or less 60/40, as to cons and pros, so now it makes me wonder if I should even consider the option or love around. I know nothings is perfect no matter where you go, how ever this is business and I am now a bit concerned as to how I should continue about this business. I mean a truck is truly needed. Horrible customer service in the service department. Anybody that goes there for service should be respected as a customer. And treat any customer with respect. I was humiliated on my friday 1/31/20 i hope no one has to deal with this.

Paul and Kellie go out of their way to make sure your time and money is put to work. They will work with your business’s needs to supply you with the proper and reliable transportation. Wouldn’t go anywhere else and get such great customer service.

The customer service at this rental facility is far and few one of the best, we have used them a few times and every time we do it has been nothing but a great experience, from all employees, to book the appointment to dropping the truck off, we use them every time we need to rent a truck and would not even think of anywhere else. Made an appointment 2 weeks in advance. Called them a day prior to make sure the vehicle is there. Drove to the location. Guess what? No vehicle. After reading all the reviews it looks like this is a regular problem at this location. We had to wait 4+ hours till we were able to get the vehicle. They did offer a discount at a certain % then we came back to the location and they said they cant do the discount. still this problem should not occur pretty much ever period And like I said prior it looks like its a regular thing.

Worse then Zero. Worst service ever. Truck goes for service, no inspection is given. You will only get the sticker on the door. DOT requires actual document. Try asking... BS. Overcharging. They replaced windshield, they charged $450. You call for any service around Chicago, you will be charged $200-$250. You will not see new tires on trucks, and recaps will blow up, you get charged for it. Looking for any excuse just to rip you off. Replacement truck was billed as additional rental because that was outside job. I wonder what it means??? Try to get a refund for anything. It is a joke. I think those people who give them high rates are paid by PENSKE... from our money. STAY AWAY STAY AWAY

Grade A. For as much complaining as I read about Uhaul and Budget, Ive used a Penske 3 times and this place the last time. Always professional and reliable. Equipment was well maintained, service was as one would expect and everything was ready on time for the price I signed up for. In and out. One thing, they forgot to the add the pads I ordered and verified when arriving. When I returned the truck, I mentioned this and was offered a refund for the pads and an additional 10% discount for the trouble. That is service! Chuck was the man, very helpful. Go here!

Penske called to confirm my appointment 3 times, including the day before. When I showed up at the correct time they did not have my truck. In fact, they didnt have the right size of truck available at all, and had to call in a larger truck from the south side of Chicago. I waited 2 hours and paid much more in gas due to the mixup. Unacceptable. Do not rent from here--there are better options with better customer service.

Tony my mechanic for the minor repairs was phenomenal, I will definitely use this location in the future.

Recently rented a 15 footer and moved over Christmas. Very friendly service and very accommodating. The trucks were in very good condition and furthermore they did offer me a very reasonable price.

Place is consistently crowded and many times they wont have my truck that I put in a reservation for. They wont call you before your estimated pickup time and let you know they dont have a truck for you, they wait until you get there to give you the terrible news that they dont have a truck for you but should be receiving one back within the next 1 to 3 hours. Doesnt really help if your running on a schedule with customers that day.

If I could give them zero stars, I would. Had a reservation for a specific type of vehicle, made several weeks in advance. Even called about a week before to make sure the dimensions of the vehicle would work for me. When I arrived to pick it up I was told, with a straight face, that it had been rented out that morning, a couple hours before my scheduled reservation, and there weren’t any more cargo vans available. So you only had one of these in stock, knew I had reserved it for that morning and STILL rented it out from underneath me?! Do you not understand what a RESERVATION is?! Seriously felt like I was in a Seinfeld episode. Completely unacceptable. Had to drive 10 miles in another direction to a UHaul place that had one readily available.

During my stop for fuel, I overheard the fuelers and mechanics are not allowed to take a break! Poor guys that do all the work are not allowed to get off there feet! I feel for them during the winter and summer months. I hope the management had there chairs taken away too!!!!

Worst experience i ever had, paul or whatever his name was didnt want to take the truck to change the transmission oil filter, he said its not a big deal when i asked him if he is so sure why he doesnt take truck and fix it, he was continue saying that i need to make an appointment,when i told him that my life worth more then his appointment and its dangerous to drive the truck with check engine light and with trans oil filter light his answer was,, Oh i know you want to leave truck here for a weekend cause you cant find a parking i wanted to talk to his menager but he said he is the one so i decided to find another penske, so unprofessional,and so stupid

Just remember its Penskes truck. They just allow you the privilege of living in it. They can take the brand new polished wheel off of it and replace it with an old dinged machined wheel if they want. Recently rented a tractor and trailer from this location for a trip from Elk Grove Village, Il. to Miami, Florida.The truck was fully loaded and the gross weight came in just above 77.000 Lbs. Within 150 miles of leaving E.G.V. the trailer had the front right outside tire separate at the sidewall, upon examination, I saw that the TUBELESS tire had a tube installed, indicating that the tire had suffered a previous puncture. On the way back from Miami, within 500 miles of leaving Miami, the rear right outside tire blew out! Penske should not be renting out trailers where the TIRED tires cannot handle a full legal load.Also, regarding the tractor, I was getting a message on the dash that the washer fluid was low (and it must have not been filled at the rental facility because I never used the windshield washers), so when I checked the fluid level I also checked the oil level where I was shocked to see that the oil was so low that it didnt even register on the dipstick!I had to add 6 gallons of oil to bring the level up to an acceptable level (and it would have taken another 2 gallons to register full).On a prior rental as I was leaving the location, I slowed before exiting the facility onto Busse Hwy. and the hood of the tractor rolled open as it had not been latched. Come on, when you close the hood, LATCH IT!

Penske is the absolute worst place you could ever possibly want to waste your money on a rental truck they have the absolute worst customer service on the planet look on Yelp look on pissed off consumer they have the worst rating they have a 1.5 star out of 5 I did not know this before I had my own experience there the young punk that was helping me had an issue with his eyes they kept rolling around in his head I was tempted to ask him if he needed me to fix them the manager did not do anything to help his employee with his sarcasm to the customers nor did the manager help solve any of the issues that were there we rented our truck that was absolutely filthy disgusting and they called us one hour and 15 minutes into our rental wanting to know when we were going to return the truck as there are other customers that need to rent it I told the guy that we will have it back when we are done with it he then responded well thats not good enough I need to know when you will have the truck here so I can rent it out to other people horrible horrible horrible horrible horrible horrible horrible experience do not rent from Penske there are other places to rent from such as Ryder and Enterprise that actually care about their customers and will always make sure you are happy stay away from Penske

Waited for 20mn and walked out! there was 2 employees, and 2 customers but on of the employee kept telling me to hold on while she was mopping the floor. Then I got a question, did you make a reservation, I said no, then again we will be with you shortly and she continued to mop away. After 20mn of waiting and frustrating, went to Penske Elk Grove where I was greeted and welcomed for my business. I wish I had it make like that at my job, if U-Haul cannot hire someone that wants to work and treat customers like customers, well they will keep loosing customers.

Avoid this company at all costs. My company made a reservation for a truck on Monday for a Saturday pick up to complete a project for a client. When I called on Friday evening to confirm the pick up they informed me that they did not in fact have the truck I needed. When I questioned why I wasnt informed earlier about the lack of a truck and when I pressed to speak to a manager, some man who says his name is Tony told me his boss was not there and he didnt have the number to reach him to resolve the manner. After repeatedly asking how Tony was going to solve the manner, I was called unprofessional when Tony was the one who kept saying I dont know to every question I asked. Then when trying to complain to corporate, I was given even more unhelpful service and told that they would take it up with my boss as his name was the one on the reservation, this of course coming after I asked repeatedly for the name of Tonys supervisor and then asking for a direct line to corporate.So basically avoid this company at all costs because they will lie to you about having your rental and leave you in the lurch looking for a replacement.

The truck I had has a bad pull in it I had complained this was a NIGHTMARE I was so sore from driving this truck and fighting the front end from swerving into the second lane and this truck was not right for open road again and I blame this on there fleet mechanics and lack of knowledge or lack of caring and this was not adjusted for I am sorry have used in pass but I will have second thoughts when renting my truck in a couple months to complete my move to Florida this was absolutely a problem.
