Ive been going to Pep Boys for years. As a woman I feel extremely comfortable taking my car there. Theyve always been fair, rarely any unexpected charges and communication is great, they let you know whats going on every step of the way.
Worst service ever. The guy name Garry seems way too busy for interacting with new customers. After waiting for a while, his comments were we too busy and wait time would be more than 2hours. Pretty much not interested in new customers. Wasted my time for the wait. Never go if you have never been there. Save yourself the headache of waiting and wasting time.
They say they accept used motor oil, but they dont...went in there 3 times in the last few months only to hear their tanks are full and itll be a week or more before they get emptied. Seems like they dont care about accepting your used oil so they can keep performing their oil changes to fill their tanks.This last time they suggested I go across the street to OReilly Auto Parts, so I did, and the process is 100% better than at Pep Boys. Pep Boys would tell you to ask a mechanic for an oil pan bucket and you pour your own oil into it (if that is, you can get a mechanics attention). At OReilly Auto Parts, you hand your used oil container to their employee, they take it back and dump it for you and wipe off any oil that may be dripping from your container, then they hand it back empty.Thanks for the suggestion, Pep Boys, Ill be taking my used oil and my business to OReilly Auto Parts from here on out!
I took in my car for inspection and they were very quick within 10-15 minutes I was out of their shop.
Not cool Pep boys.. Ive been going to pep boys since I could drive. A long time. I made an appointment for my elderly mom to get an oil change. The night before, I made an appointment at 4PM. I went on the website and made it. I printed out the confirmation and gave it to her to take. The next day, when she went in, she was told they were too busy and turned her away. Gary said he reached out 2X but my mom;s cell was not setup. This is true but why bump her. It is not her fault. Who ever manages the website should know better. Not the customer service I am use to at my pepboys in Fontana. An oil change takes a few minutes. You couldnt offer a later time on the same day. Unfortunately, it was urgent and my mom didnt say anything until last minute but still. I get it, you were busy but not happy about the situation.
Very bad customer service very arrogant employees they claim to be extremely busy and Ive been to stores that are much more busy and they still get the job done and dont treat people like they did my person never again. They have so much difficulty by the quantity of customers maybe they should realize that customers are what keep them alive and maybe customers should stop going there since they are so busy and cannot treat the customers properly.
They always do a great job working on my truck. They never pressure me into doing anything, just suggest.
Made an appointment for 10AM for a simple oil change/tire rotation, by 12PM my car still wasn’t even pulled back. Why have an appointment system if you can’t accommodate the appointments correctly? I can understand this if I just walked in on a Saturday for service, but I scheduled an available appointment.I was unable to wait any longer, so I asked for my keys so I could leave. The staff was understanding but provided no apology for their unreasonable wait time.Moral of the story, if you’d like an oil change, based on other reviews as well, set aside 3 hours of your day for it to come here.
I just had to get my front turn signal replaced. They told me it would cost $21 when I made my appointment. When I came in and after waiting over an hour, they told me it would cost $384 because they had to take off my bumper (which is usually the case with most cars). I do not recommend coming here if you plan on not getting your time wasted.
It has always been easy to shop at Pep Boys. The store is well organized and neat. The employees are friendly as well as helpful.

I scheduled an appointment at 11:00 a.m. for an alignment. Got there 30mins early dropped off my car. First gentleman I talked with was nice and friendly and asked why I was there, told him and thought all was good. Came back at 12:30 plenty of time for an alignment and was then told that my car needed an alignment and would I like to proceed with this. This confused me sense literally made an appointment for that reason and shared that info. Was then quoted 30 more minutes which I patiently waited only to be told it would be an additional 20mins. Well got my car back after a three hour wait for a 20 minute service. Thanks for the speedy and quick fix guys.

I have an appointment today in 1 pm for oil change and I dropped off early 30 minutes. They said it takes 1 hour and I have to wait for 2 hours. When I come to ask is it done. They hadn’t even touched my car and then tell me that i have to wait 1 more car to be my turn. It’s just change oil but you guys wasted my time to much

I went in on the forth of July after finding that a rival shop had rounded my oil drain plug bolt. These guys quickly helped me to get the old plug out and a new plug in while finishing the oil change. Great service! These guys deserve a raise!

I needed special windshield wipers, My 2016 Acura MDX takes 3 different sizes 26 and 20 for the front and 14 for the rear window. They had everything I needed. Even went to the stall around the corner. They installed everything in about 2 minutes. These people are fantastic. I was in and out paid for and installed in less than 15 minutes!
Had a 12:00 pm appt. Was quickly checked in by Zachary. My vehicle was attended to and I was out in a reasonable time Thanks Zachary
Made appointment for oil change. Service department called me, very busy, can you please reschedule. Set appointment for next day, told them I need to wait for my car. Went in for new appt; they told me Id have to leave the car for at least 3 hrs. I left. Not happy.

Very disappointed in the service I recently got at this location. I went back in May to get an oil change and a tire patched. Upon inspection I was informed that the nail was too close to the edge of the tire. I decided to leave it the way it was and just get the oil change. On Sept. 30th (the day before yesterday) I go to get my oil changed. As im sitting out front in 104 degree weather waiting, the guy comes out and says hey do you know you have a nail in your tire? I explained what happened before and he assured me they could actually fix it! I said go for it. I was excited because I didnt have to put air in my tire every morning again lol. Yesterday I get in my car, tire sensor goes off again. Today I call and speak with Sal (the person who scheduled my appointment for the 30th) I explain the situation in hopes to get my car looked at today and nothing, no options other than booking ANOTHER reservation or going to a different location to get the tire looked at smh. Thank you pep boys for the great customer service. Ill never step foot in one of your locations ever again. Back to Firestone I go. Shame on me for being lazy and going to the place on the corner of my street. Lesson learned!!
!!!CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!! this place is a scam. Tell you one thing is wrong with your car and you pay them to fix it then Three days later it does the same thing that it did before they fixed it and they say it’s something else wrong. Unbelievable, who’s running the show around there, a monkey? Because there is funny business definitely going on there for sure. Save yourself the headache and get multiple opinions before you settle with these guys. I wish I would have. Might be making a phone call to the BAR.
Great place to get car parts and an exceptional amount of accessories and tools. Autozone and Oriley dont stock the accessories that I was in search of like seat covers floor mats and organizers.

Ive been happy with Pep Boys repairs. Did an excellent job replacing a cat converter for me, kept the o2 sensors, no problems, good price. Also did my ball joints so well they didnt need alignment (checked alignment elsewhere tho) good job technician Harry Klaus. Also been happy with Jorge Ramirez over the years, hes a good one to get on the other end of the phone.
Lack of respect for the customer, scam attempts, and breach of contract. Battery had to be ordered into the store, even though website say available in the store. Installation appointment was arranged for next day. Arrived at store to complete purchase and installation. First cashier attempted to charge $159.99 for battery. Actual sale price to be charged in the store was $106.49. I was then told that the website prices dont apply at this store, even though the stores address is plainly visible. Next, a second person said they would honor the price, and began to ring it up for $159.99 minus 25%. However, the website plainly says the retail price of the battery is $141.99. When I objected again, they corrected the price to finally match their own website. I left the car and was told installation would be completed in an hour. I returned almost 2 hours later. The car had not moved and the battery was not installed. I asked for a refund and then my keys. They refunded me without a word and handed me my keys without a word. I left. I do not know why a business treats people so poorly, tries to overcharge them, then breaks their agreed to appointment and doesnt do the job. The emotion distress and waste of my time almost makes me want to put their antics in front of a judge.
Im 200 miles from my personal mechanic. Was grateful Pep was open on Sunday. Two other Pep stores were too busy to help.All three of these stores have horrible reviews, but I didnt have the option of waiting. Called this store and explained to Mark (acting service manager) that I was in need of emergency service and that Id read nothing but bad reviews of the local Pep stores. He was reassuring and was more than willing to handle my case personally.They recommended about $600 worth of services, only about 400 of which was absolutely necessary to prevent further damage to my vehicle. Mark kept me in the loop and was upfront and honest. He has excellent customer service and people skills.He earned my five star rating of this store.
Had an appointment for an oil change, was still taken in and was told “well we’ll see if we can fit you guys in we had a lot of walk ins today” I HAD AN APPOINTMENT. So I left my car there and didn’t receive any CALL OR TEXT ALL DAY and I check my email and got an email at 7:52, which is 8 minutes before closing, telling me my car is ready. So I head over there even though I live 10 minutes away just for the clerk to tell me I can’t get MY CAR. I have work in the morning. I did not pay for my car to be serviced overnight. Now I have to miss work just to get my car that should not have been there overnight in the first place. Never coming back.

Been to this store many / many times.Yesterday was the last.Randee waited on me and had a real attitude, as if she knew everyting but ended up the opposite.She was rude and talked down to me as a customer.She needs to be spoken to before the store looses more business.
Great service here. Guy helped me find what I needed. Also found out that if you purchase items on line and pick up in store, you could get 25% off. Snow cables were $68 in store, only $52 on the website and I took them home with me. Totally worth looking up the item in store on your phone to see if it is cheaper.
They wouldnt even price match their own web price. Drove down for nothing.Ill just stick with Carquest/Advanced Auto Parts. The regular pricing is already $3 cheaper for the item I wanted but can be $5 cheaper with discounts.

I took my car in October to get an oil change and my tires rotated. I usually do my own oil change or take it to Honda but I didn’t have time to do it myself at the time so I took it to Pepboys. When I took it in it took almost 3 hours which is way too long. As I was paying the worker said he gave me Penzoil (because it was cheaper) but I told him twice that I wanted Mobil 1 oil which was frustrating.Recently I was due for an oil change so I did it myself, as I usually do. When I tried taking off my oil filter it was completely stuck. I used a variety of methods: oil filter wrenches, hammering a screwdriver through, etc. and it wouldn’t come out. Called Honda and they said they’d pick it up and try to take it off. Honda wasn’t able to take it off either. After a day they discovered Pepboys had installed the wrong oil filter in my car and Honda had to take out the oil filter housing and install a new one because the oil filter Pepboys installed would not come out. The filter Pepboys installed stripped my oil filter housing and one of the employees at Honda said the same thing happened to them. DONT GET YOUR CAR SERVICED HERE

I came for a Lyft inspection (3 minute process) and had a 1PM appointment. I was there and checked in on time but waited in the parking lot until around 1:40 when they came out to see me. They need to prioritize appointments, or not take them if they cannot honor the time. The people were great and respectful, but it is ridiculous to have to wait 40 minutes for a 3 minute process. People have busy lives and waiting so long for such a short process is inconvenient to the customer.
The clerk went out of his way to get me the right wipers and installed them as well very pleased with the customer service
I use there repair center. Ask for a master mechanic for your more difficult repairs, I use Henry.

Stopped here by because my tire light came on. It’s 10:15 am. The guy at he counter told me to basically go to another Pep Boys because they are too busy. One car in the bay... one person in the store... I asked if he could air up ONE tire and he said No, Do you need directions to our other location? Seriously just go back to leaning on the counter, lazy employee of the month.
Over 4 hrs to replace tires after having scheduled appointment. Very slow!Update 8-2-2018:Updating from 1 to 5 stars. After my negative feedback manager called me back in the next few days and was very disappointed in my experience. He promised to gave him a second chance if I go there again. Which I did few months later. They remember me and provided fantastic service with my oil change this time. I hope every time someone goes there will have the same great experience! Thank you!

When I first brought my van in here about a year ago, I felt like I got screwed and would never return. However, two days ago, the expensive battery that they replaced mine with was under warranty. So I took my battery to Pep Boys and sure enough they gave me a new one at no charge. I was dealt with in a professional and courteous manner, so Im willing to bet there under new management because the manager did everything great and left me in good shape.
Terrible experience...Went in for a simple oil change and diagnostic and left with the Engine light on. after leaving my car there the whole..They ran another diagnostic the next day and said if was the knock sensor..Remember the engine light was not on when I turned the car in..so after an entire day with the car they gave me that read out and again never called to update me on car..then at third appt told me its prob not the knock sensor but the power computer module, again a whole day at their shop and no phone call...Terrible customer service and only go there for the basics..oil change. lube. radiator flush etc....a total disaster!
I was extremely pleased with the Pep Boys on Mission in Escondido. I was able to schedule an appointment online with ease for an early Sunday morning appointment. My brake service was just a terrific experience. I paid just over $130 for rear brakes including a rotor resurfacing. This also has a $30 rebate. This same service would have been $400 at the dealership. Mark was a fantastic advisor with no pressure or upsell. I was provided the options and the choice on the service was mine. Our family will be back for service on our cars in the future.

Good selection of parts over competitors but prices are higher then most other stores. There is another Auto parts store across the street with better prices but fewer part options in store.
Busy place on a Sunday....probably since theyre the only place open! I recommend that you get there early! I had an appt. and still had to wait an extra hour. But George in service was cool, and my inspection went quickly and smoothly.

Poorly run ship, with regards to communication and management. I called to schedule an appointment for a quick vehicle inspection, and I was clearly informed that next availability is in the evening or if I come in and get in line I would be looking at an hour wait, which I was fine with. So I drove an hour to get there, ready to wait the hour, and the floor salesman said that hes all booked today and cant take any more customers. I explained I was told otherwise and I drove an hour through traffic based upon the info they gave me, and he said, Ive been here all day and havent heard anyone say those words. So now Im a liar?!? Sorry, but thats not only poor customer service but also just rude. I know to not judge a book by its cover, but I wont support Pepboys if they wont treat every customer with proper business ethics.

I sat there for over a hour waiting for an oil change and tire rotation. When I inquired how much longer do I wait I was told it was lunch time. I had no problem with folks eating I was hungry myself. It would have been professional just to tell me and I could have come but instead I was left waiting and did not get the work done. Thanks Zack for wasting my time.

Dont freaking bother with them! Made an appointment and over five hours later they still have yet to look at our vehicle. This is absolutely ridiculous! What was the point of the appointment? Other cars are being pulled in before ours. I do not recommend them at all! Take your vehicle elsewhere!
Took 35 minutes just to try to talk to someone about fixing my ac. Despite online saying that they were open until 8 I was there at 6 and after waiting 35 min was told it couldnt be done that day and the price was stupidly overpriced. They had a chance to get a new customer because they were open late. I also saw three people there that all got the same treatment as I did with the same reaction. Told me it would be 300 plus freon which could be another 300 way more than the 9.99 plus freon at Firestone. I saw him charge 200 for a single tire and then tell him that if he doesnt get 4 it will void out the warranty. I wouldnt want to pay that for all four tires and a warranty. It was like the guy was purposely try to piss off people that he should not ignore and help them fix there car while making it feel like they are important and cared for
Made an appointment for a oil change, tire rotation, and alignment. I was called an hour later saying they wouldn’t have time for he alignment. Waited until almost 8 on Saturday (closing time) to see if my vehicle was finished and if I hadn’t, they would have kept the truck all night. After I checked out with the desk I checked my tires and they hadn’t been rotated and they wouldn’t have told me if I didn’t check. Overall it took them 4 hours to make an oil change... awful experience. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Will never give my business to them again.

Customer service is lacking. It took 2 hours to do a simple oil change. The mechanic looks confused and dont seem to know what to do.

Unfortunatly the kids working here have no experience interacting with people. Please define customer service to them so they understand that this is the real world. Would be nice if someone said hi, or offered help, or helped you find something. Any of those are good options.
Made a 4pm appointment to do an inspection for Lyft. Website says they do them until 5pm. Got a voicemail saying that if I don’t bring my car in that I would have to wait two hours because they are busy.... busy with what? I made an appointment. I showed up at 3:58 to the counter only for them to tell me they don’t do Lyft inspections after 3pm because the Lyft system doesn’t allow them to. The guy then says that Lyft isn’t really driver friendly. I just talked to my friend who works at Lyft and he said they are about to no longer do business with pep boys because they keep having problems with pep boys. Instead of leaving me a voicemail threatening that if I don’t bring the car in early they are too busy to fulfill my appointment in a timely manner they should have saved me the trip all the way from the border of Mexico and told me that even when I do show up on time for a scheduled appointment, they won’t be able to do the inspection anyway. Terrible service.

Went in for a car battery and tire balancing. From my old invoices it was unclear if I had lifetime warranty on balancing my tires. Daniel, the service manager, stayed late in an attempt to reach the Tri City store for confirmation. As it was going to be difficult to verify this information by phone, Daniel decided to give me the benefit of the doubt and had all four wheels balanced at no charge. Both he and his assistant Chris were quite courteous and professional, making my whole experience at Pep Boys very pleasant. Thanks again Daniel. Ill see you when I need tires soon.D. Ross

They put about time when your car will be done. I waited 2 hours to find out that they even did not start working on my car and that it will take another 15 min to take it in and another hour and a half to work on it. So total of 4 hours for an oil change even though I have been told I will be taken in at the scheduled time. It happens previous time that I waited for 2 hours here and I thought it was a misshapening but obviously not, it’s their normal. They lay to keep business. Sad. Bad business and total disrespect of people’s time.

Ill keep it simple - Not one employee bothered to ask me if I needed help but as soon as it was time to close 3 of them informed me it was closing time and helped me out the door. One was a manager/supervisor. I was there for over an hour trying to find something really simple. The employees spent the last hour chatting and letting the phone ring off the hook. The days of any kind of customers service are gone no matter where you go but this was just irritating. Being blown off but Oh its closing time GET OUT OKAY THANKS BYE!!! This place is worse than Frys. But Frys they hide from you and hope you find the door. Sorry to take up your time pep boys. I guess Ill go across the street to Oreillys Auto Parts. At least they know more than how to use the cash register. (But they still ignored me too)UPDATED: 4/10/17This place has improved in the last 6 months. You will get acknowledged, provided their faces arent buried in the POS or their cell phones. I found myself going there more often since they sell a TON OF spray paint. I have to change my rating from 1 to 4.
I got a good deal on tires here. Staff was helpful. For the future Ill probably make sure to negotiate like I did and make an apointment. The wait was a bit long.

I like this store a lot more than some of the other auto parts stores. The staff are knowledgeable and have a good selection. At Christmas they also have toys like go-cart
They couldve had a really good rating from me. They got the parts I needed, they got it right, and their prices were good. So. Why did I blast them?Because when I got their discount card I gave them my email address and soon after, my email was overflowing with spam. They CANNOT be trusted with information, it seems. AVOID IF POSSIBLE. If you MUST use them, PAY CASH AND DO NOT GET THE DISCOUNT CARD.
