My husband and I were recently looking to sell our current lease and switch to a new one. We were interested in the Corolla and went to Toyota Carlsbad to check them out. After pricing in Carlsbad we were not happy with the numbers, selection or the customer service.So, we started to look online at other dealerships including Toyota of Escondido. After pricing online, we received an email and text from Shawn Skinner asking what we were looking for. After a back and forth via text, Shawn assured us that he would be able to make our price range work and show us all of our options.He did just that! Shawn was knowledgeable, attentive, honest, and not pushy in the least. It really seemed like he had our best interest at heart and wanted us to leave happy with our choice. He matched our desired sell price on our lease and we left with a better car than we expected at a price comfortably within our range.My husband and I agreed that car shopping with Shawn was our best and most efficient car shopping experience to date.Thanks Shawn for making the process so easy for us!

My oil change and tire rotation took 2 hours. I had a free cup of coffee bought a couple greeting cards, created a document, and my car was ready!! My service adviser John was the best! So very kind, patient and helpful. He walked me to my car and took the extra protective paper off the floor and seat. Only complaint is the cost, $120 for an oil change and tire rotation seems excessive.

Love Toyota, hate their service center. I have a new CH-R that is ready for its first maintenance service, called to setup an appointment and made an appointment for a week later at 9:40am. Showed up to the service center at exactly 9:40 and rolled in to a line of cars and waited 15 minutes for someone to come up to my window and ask why I was there. Told them I had an appointment at 9:40, and they asked if I wanted them to text me when it was ready... given over the phone I was told it would just be a tire rotation, fluid top off, and multi point inspection, I asked him how long it would be since this should be a quick service. He then told me it would be 3-4 hours before my car would even be taken back... then when I asked what the point of me having an appointment was for I was told Well this is the busiest Toyota service center. Still does not give any reason why someone with an appointment at 9:40, wouldnt have their car taken back until 1pm... I told him that I couldnt wait as I work full time and he told me all wed be doing is a tire rotation so Id go somewhere else. Stupid of me to believe that, but then went and paid for a tire rotation elsewhere that was supposed to be FREE, and was told that I needed an oil change... something else that was supposed to be covered in this appointment. So now Im out the money for a tire rotation, and have yet to get my oil change done as I do not have the time to sit and wait 4 hours, but am not happy with the idea of paying out of pocket for something thats covered by Toyota.So Toyota, do you make appointments just for the hell of it or should I expect any appointment I make to really be started 4 hours after?

Kyle K. helped me out today. Super cool guy. I had a request to make a change to my service while it was being worked on and the dude made it happen. I live an hour away and pass 2 Toyota dealerships on the way here. The customer service makes the drive totally worth it.I also want to state that I purchased my car here in June from Alex G. This guy was amazing as well. I had my carpool drop me off on my way home from work so that I could purchase the car. My girlfriend was going to co-sign and they let her do everything over the phone. When it came to the wet signature, Alex drove ALL THE WAY home with me (an hour long drive in his own vehicle) and collected her signature in our living room. This was amazing. The people here truly go above and beyond for their customers. I’ll come here for every Toyota I purchase going forward.

Service Advisor Jose Anguiano did an awesome job! When I showed up I was a bit frustrated and he helped make everything better. My truck was handled with care, and the issue I showed up with was taken care of promptly and professionally. He did an amazing job! I recommend everyone to go see him if you want to have great service and to be taken care of when dealing with car trouble. He did a great job and he definitely deserves credit for a job well done!

Guy Nguyen was professional and nice. But, Toyota misleading with free services. Went in for oil change and was informed that first service is only tire rotation and oil change is only once a year or 10k miles. Was not informed on these details when I recently bought my vehicle and the lady that looked up my info didnt inform me as well. It was a waste of time going there. Also, Toyota Financial payment app does not work the way it does. Highly thinking of trading it for something else. Toyota let me down for the last time. Very misleading.

Mixed review. It depends on who I am reviewing. For my experience checking in for service, and the extremely brutish man whom I dealt with I rate the service check-in person and NO STARS ☹️.There were 3 lanes, all of which were marked with signage for cars to enter into for service.I had made my appointment for a service ahead of time, yet had the feeling that it didnt matter what time my appointment was since no one seemed to notice that I had arrived. No acknowledgement, or even a signal, eye contact, gesture, or anything to show that I was seen and acknowledged.I have worked over 20 yrs working in customer service and if anything, I learned you treat others as you would a Guest in your house. In this case, I arrived, yet no greeting, no acknowledgement. I had to call the Toyota service number on my cellphone to see if I was in the right place, because everything felt wrong and off. When I was assured by the lady on the phone to stay there and get out of my car, only then did a man approach me to check in my car for my appointment.The service check-in person,whom only later I was told his name, was extremely forceful in his communication with me when I voiced that I was not comfortable with the pricing of certain things. Instead of understanding or even empathizing with me, he got up too close for comfort (my personal space felt violated) and tried to intimidate me with his words. The tone and manner he used was unwelcomed and I immediately felt an urgent need to get away from this person. He was not kind nor friendly nor anyone whom I would desire to receive help from in any way.I was not going to be told how to feel by this man,who obviously was lacking in emotional intelligence. He told me to stop complaining and tried to force his opinions on me.I reminded him, I AM the customer, I have the right to disapprove of anything, anytime and he had NO right to force his opinion on me or intimidate me into paying for overpriced service.His actions alone made me NEVER want to get any services at this location again.However, there was a silver lining. I had to get a part, and for the employee that I encountered in the parts department I rate 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐stars. I regret that I do not recall his name, but he was an exceptional employee and he knows who he is. He did a very good thing.This employee not only understood how I felt, but was so accommodating, sharing his knowledge and making me feel valued as a guest/customer. I received outstanding help from the parts sales/employee, and am regretful I did not know the employees name--but he changed my whole experience around. He truly went above and beyond, treating me as a special valued guest and left me feeling grateful and thankful for good honest people desiring to really help others.

The service done itself was great! I was told it would take no more than 2 hours it took over 3. Then I was sent a message that my paperwork would be done in 10 minutes and it took 30 minutes. By the time I was finally called to come pay and sign paperwork my car was no where to be seen. It was said that they would bring it right out. I stood there for 20 minutes waiting before I finally had to ask 2 different employees to find my car. It was 10 more minutes before I finally saw someone walk with my keys to the garage. It took them top 1 minute to get my car. Service wise it was great but don’t go unless you have your whole day open.

People were friendly. Quality is most likely very good. But wait was long. I was in for routine oil change and periodic maintenance. I was among the first there at 6:45am. Did get new air filters and wheel lug nuts. Didn’t get out till 11:30 am. Seems like a long time for what wasn’t a lot of work.

Toyota of Escondido is amazing. Every time I come in for maintenance or anything they are always highly accommodating and quick. Today when I arrived they had to have 15 plus cars there for appointments and warned me it could be a couple of hours before my car was ready but they said they would try their best to get me out as quickly as possible seeing as I had my two month old with me. I was pleasantly surprised when my car was ready in a little over an hour. Even with how busy they were every single person was friendly and smiling it truly made my day.

Got a car less than 2 weeks ago and already having to come in with car trouble. Seems like they are changing the battery since its already due for a replacement BUT my thought is why didnt they do that even before they would sell it since its already due for a replacement 🤔. Customer service is great! Ignacio has been very helpful, very prompt and professional just sucks to be here within a couple weeks of buying. Only reason why I changed my 1 star for 2 is because of Ignacio. BUT NO ONE should have to come for service just weeks after buying. Its a no star for me

I didn’t have a great experience this morning. When I arrived and spoke to the first technician, I told him I was here for an oil change and the basic inspection. He understood and returned with my paperwork, I asked if I still had any free oil changes left and he replied with “yes that’s what we’re using today”. He also asked if I wanted a complimentary car wash, which of course I agreed to.While waiting I received a call that a tire rotation wasn’t necessary because my drive tires already had the most tread on them, which was fine and I was told it would be ready shortly.After another hour, (2 hour total wait) I went to pick up my car… unwashed. And upon reviewing the paperwork, only received the multi point inspection. I brought this up with my service writer who explained that the RAV4 only gets oil changed every 10,000 miles and that every 5,000 it gets a tire rotation. This was not mentioned to me at the beginning, plus I received no answer as to why I didn’t not get a wash.Oh and of course they tried to price gouge me on a cabin air filter replacement. $70. Stating it was very dirty. Well a quick trip down to Autozone and $40 later I now have a washable/reusable cabin air filter. Which by the way, the old one wasn’t even that dirty to begin with.

Although there was a long line of cars waiting to check in for service when I arrived for my 9 am appointment, once I was checked in and the car was taken into the service area things went smoothly. My car was done sooner than they originally indicated and they give you free Lyft rides back and forth. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

Had a horrible experience trying to lease from this location. I’ve leased from Toyota before (another location) and had a way better experience. Dylan, the sales guy was great. Everything was going smoothly until managers got involved because of the rate and payment I was looking for.I understand that Toyota sales guys like to bring in managers to play good cop bad cop, but the manager, Gonzalo was just blatantly rude and disrespectful. If you’re a young woman looking to lease on your own, I urge you to go elsewhere. When I asked Gonzalo to repeat himself because I wanted to make sure I had the #s correct, he spoke so slowly as if I had a hearing problem.My credit score is also pretty decent and they had the audacity to try to “get me” with a loan I was a co-signer on. My brother missed one payment over a year ago which is the one and only remark on my credit report, and they tried to use that to try to get me to pay $377 a month on a lease with over 2k down for a Corolla with an MSRP of 23k…. Just wacky behavior honestly. And I was transparent about what kind of a deal I was looking for from the get go.Anyway, I ended up leasing from Honda Escondido and had a great experience with Alberto Padilla and his manager.

Good customer service. Was well taken care of, the car ended up being in for two weeks. Got a complimentary loaner car when it was taking longer than originally expected. Glad we had bought the extended warranty since we otherwise would have been 6 months past factory warranty and out thousands of dollars.

The service department is good and always completes the repairs or maintenance as requested. However, the service advisor asked if I would like my vehicle washed and I replied that I would. It didn’t get washed and after waiting for over three hours for my repairs to get completed, I didn’t have time to hang around to get it washed. This is the second time this has happened! If they don’t intend to wash a vehicle, why do they ask? Minor issue but irritating.

Bought a brand new Camry Hybrid. Was told it has automatic starting and other features through the app. That was a lie. Brought car in for service at 15k miles and was told I needed 2 new tires already and that there was no warranty on them. Having break issues and was told its $160 to diagnose despite warranty. Hold button doesnt work properly but they dont care about that either. On top of all that it takes them 4 hours to change the oil and rotate tires with an appointment. BUYER BEWARE!

Disappointing first Toyota Care service experience today with my new Toyota Venza. 3 stars for the tech who didnt rotate the tires and over filled the oil (which is stressed in the owners manual to NOT do with this engine).5 stars for my service advisor John who quickly and graciously corrected both issues for me. On dropping off my 2021 4Runner TRD Pro today for its 10,000 mile service I complained about a transmission problem I’m been experiencing since I purchased it 9 months ago. I was told I’d have to prepay a $165 inspection fee for the mechanic to verify the problem. I have bought many new cars and never had such an experience. I can’t see myself purchasing another Toyota here or recommending this dealership to my friends or relatives. I deplore this way of doing business.

“You don’t get a second chance for a first impression”. That old saying held true due to Mozie, assistant service manager, my initial contact with the dealership. Family traveling U.S. for two months. Of course, car issues 2 days before driving back to East Coast. Mozie and dealership were top notch. As the family spent the day at resort pool I assumed I would spend my time in the dealership lobby waiting for car. Not so. Mozie and staff set me up with complimentary shuttle to resort. Kept me in the loop on mechanical issues via text and had set me up for shuttle at the end of the day for car pick up. I’ve only used Toyota dealership for car service and I thought my Toyota FL dealer was good but Toyota Escondido was just as good. Good to have dealers assurance on car’s ability to make our trip home. Good job all.

I was told everything looked great after a recall repair and regular maintenance. Everything was checked off to be 100%, perfect tread, and said psi 38 on paper, however my tire pressure warning sign came on when I left. First drive onto the freeway, my back right tire exploded. Less than 24 hrs of leaving service. My car has barely 17k miles on it and there was nothing in the road, nothing impaling my tire. This is the 3rd and final time having major issues with Escondido Toyota and I will not be returning. I have called the manager with no return call. The BAR has been notified.

After several pitiful experiences shopping for a car at other dealerships we had our expectations turned upside down buying a 2022 Toyota Corolla SE from Will Wundrach. Hes a true gentleman and we ended up reaching a deal that made everyone happy. The finance manager who we did paperwork with straight forward, professional and did not waste any of our time. For that, we plan to do business with Toyota Escondido next time around too. What a suave bunch. You dont see that every day in the car business.

Horrible experience with the service department. I purchased prepaid maintenance for the vehicle after my two years complimentary service was up. When I tried to schedule my final prepaid oil change I was told my contract expired. Considering the service was paid for I thought this was strange and asked to speak with a manager to see about a “grace period”. The manager told me you only get three months grace period and I was at five months. I was told by her I need to call corporate to get the oil change approved. I called the supplied number and was told by corporate it’s up to the dealership. I asked to speak to her manager, was put on hold and advised they would call me back. The line disconnected as she was giving me an incident number and to date no call back from them.I e-mail customer service and was told I need to call Toyota financial. Toyota financial tells me they have nothing to do with service but gives me a couple numbers to try. Finally, I get ahold of the correct department who tells me it’s standard one year “grace” period. This was a four day process of calls and emails.I call Toyota of Escondido again and speak to Jose who was knowledgeable and knew these contracts come with a one year grace period.I get the oil change completed and am told my cabin filter needs to be replaced; I pass on their $70 service and opt to do it myself for $7. I get home and notice oil leaking from the bottom of my vehicle the next morning. I look in the engine bay and it looks like a quart of oil was just dumped down the side of my motor, wheel well and shocks. It looked like there was zero effort to clean anything and that they were looking at a different vehicle when pouring the oil. I replaced my cabin filter only to discover a rodent had made a nest out of it and there were feces on top of what was left of the filter. It’s absolutely mind boggling that someone would look at that and slide it back into place like it’s not a health hazard with out mentioning to the customer that there are rodent droppings being blown into your face when running the air.I call Jose back to have Toyota check and make sure the mechanics didn’t strip my drain plug. I took the vehicle back, they say everything is to torqued to spec and they power washed the oil off my motor. Jose was very knowledgeable, helpful and offered to have his guys clean the oil off my driveway; given the experience I was having I declined.Overall, when your paying dealer prices for service you expect a good experience not the lowest quality service you have ever experienced. The original service member could have asked someone more knowledgeable than herself and the manager should have been more knowledgeable about their products; or could have made a phone call for me versus sending me on a wild goose chase that lasted four days.

Extremely Disappointed due to Breach of Contract.I received an offer from my request for Out the Door price to dealerships for 2021 Rav4XLE Hybrid. An offer came from Steve of Toyota in Escondido, for $32,348. I confirmed my request and sent acceptance, as well as, provided in-person $500 deposit and notice that ETA mid Jun. After numerous text, phone msg and email on status, by Jul, I decided to request Sales Manager for understanding with the lack of response and communication. When I called in early Aug, Steve finally talked to me and stated its due in early Sept. I texted on first week of Sept and was told 15-20Sept. With no call back from Steve, I texted him on 22Sept. Steve stated the car is in but we cannot honor our contract. He stated that the car is marked up $2500 plus we need to pay addl $1200 (?) for security system. When my wife and I arrived 5:30pm on 22Sept, I showed him a hard copy of his email and the receipt for my deposit. He said the dealership will not honor our contract. This is a Breach of Contract, which I told him was legally binding and grounds for further actions.My wife and I were deeply sadden by their lack of respect, integrity and profressionallism. I am a 24yr USAF Veteran and my wife and I are retired with limited income. We have had 7 Toyotas in the family. And we have never experienced such Greediness and Poor Customer relations before.We vow never to enter this dealership again nor buy another Toyota.

Went in to get service on my sisters vehicle and the fact that they take non appointments before appointments kinda sucks a bit. We had an appointment at 930 but didnt get helped until 945. As we were waiting for a representative they took in 5 non appointment vehicles. I understand that you guys want the more customers in but I believe that customers with appointments should always be taken car if first. But overall awesome service Heidi did awesome

Run as fast as you can. Don’t buy from Toyota of Escondido.If you purchased a car from May 27 - present and was told I’d you didn’t buy the extra agreements your rate will be higher, you can sue them for that.I will have the finance people lose there license.

Dealer isn’t transparent with vehicle pricing and marks up vehicles. I bought a new vehicle from them in 2019 and thought maybe the process would be as straight forward as it was last time. It wasn’t and I probably won’t be back to buy a car or have my wife’s 4Runner serviced.

Oil change 3 hrs but regardless the circumstances we have to understand they are understaffed. The customer service was superb from the greeter when you arrive to the guy who verified your info Christian and the guy that returns your car Mck is all I recall of his last name 😬 but they were all very professional.Thank you

My car’s check engine light came on passing through Escondido. I got it towed and checked out here. Mozie and all the others were so helpful and friendly!! They tested everything and couldn’t find the culprit but it didn’t cost me anything. This is a great place.

Not completely Happy how my purchase is going..I wasnt given full $total amount$ nor was I told who financed me till after my mom signed paperwork 🔥😠I have to wait a full week to get vehicle detailed and stench out of car.I asked how many days do I have if I decide to not buy. He said none. Im pist off. I like Jeep but Im not happy with Toyota service.Its completely unprofessional n I feel like he got over on me ..TazBy the way....Yes Im getting detailing..but yet.. Nothing taken off for all these found on Jeep...Dam..oh and my research indicated that 3 yrs warranty comes with it.. If I could go lower than a one star I would. If this dealership wanted to be Matilda they should have stuck to Broadway. They not only screwed us over on our trade in but sold us a vehicle that had not been inspected and the AC went out a week later costing thousands in repairs and we literally just made our FIRST payment. When trying to confront the dealership for poor practices, we were met with gaslighting and condescending attitudes. Chase and Tracy should be ashamed. Avoid this dealership and save yourself the trouble.

I have had a speaker/sound issue with my Prius Prime since I bought it. And have left messages for our sales person multiple times regarding the issue. So with my 5,000 maintenance appointment I asked for them to look at it. I got so much run around from Toyota of Escondido with so many things. The customer service at this location is satisfactory at best. There were so many issues with staff. Starting with trying to get a rental or courtesy car (since they didnt know how long they needed my car), or just an idea of how they help with transportation. The receptionist had very little to say or explain, her customer service skills were lacking to say the least. I honestly think she did not have the knowledge about the company to assist but that is not my problem. As I asked questions, she did not freely offer information, it was as though I was prying. The associate manager then told me that in order to fix the sound problem, they needed to duplicate the problem. If anyone reading this has ever had a similar issue, you know darn well the car will be “just fine” for the mechanics and they won’t hear anything. Of course that was the case for me. And to make matters worse when I went and picked it up, a sweaty stinky guy was driving it and did not use a plastic cover for my seat and it now smells like a gym. and no coverings or anything on my floor mats etc. (didnt they used to do that and put paper mats on the floor). I will not be returning to Toyota of Escondido and I will do my beat to tell my family and friends to avoid it too.
