I used to love Uptown Cheapskate..I could find something ever time.. I visited the Evens location today and it appears to have become an over priced donation center..I found nothing in fashion, worn and damaged clothing. I will never waste my time there again and I absolutely do not recommend Uptown Cheapskate to anyone. So sad. Stars in the negative.. In order to post this genuine review I must give it a star, so I reiterate this location deserves no stars and I urge you not to waste your time.

I drove into the Augusta area for a night and decided that since I love the uptown cheapskates in Atlanta, that i would check this one out. I was NOT disappointed. The service was great and myfinds were awesome ° Ill be back!!

Super poor expectation of wait time! Staff is friendly but only one person can process clothing pretty ridiculous. Don’t waste tour time. Clothes is overpriced. Your better off selling on other markets online.

I am so annoyed, I shopped here for the first time a few weeks ago, and bought a few items, when the cashier asked for my number I said “no thanks” (because normally that’s just stores trying to send sales/spam to me), then I clarified with the cashier that I’d be able to exchange these items within 30 days if I didn’t like them. The cashier confirmed that as long as I had the receipt/tags on it would be fine.I tried to exchange them today for other items and they told me if you don’t give our your phone number when you first purchase items you can’t return/exchange the items at all.I told them that policy was NEVER even mentioned to me and I’d clarified with the cashier I’d be able to, and they said there was nothing they could do.So essentially they just stole $30 from me, will never shop there again

I recently had a dilemma. I was invited to a party and I couldnt find anything to wear.😔 I browsed the mall and a few other local stores. No luck. Then, I thought about Uptown Cheapskate. JACKPOT! I found a smoking hot lavender strapless jumpsuit and a pair of gold sequined pants that I paired with a buttercream silk top.🔥Also, Uptown was having Dollar Days sale. I walked out with my bag stuffed with 2 outfits to choose from for the party and SEVERAL new pieces for work and leisure AND 2 pairs of shoes! If you havent checked this place out, you MUST add it as a stop on your errand list!! ❤

They have really nice items for very low prices! This location is bigger and more organized than the Augusta location. And employees seemed more friendly as well 🤷🏽‍♀️

Great for buying, but terrible for selling. They don’t let you leave the store anymore, so I waited over an hour (when they told me 45 mins) for literally pennies. They took my old raggedy striped t-shirts but not great condition Patagonia, Southern Marsh, etc apparel. Really disappointed, sell by yourself online.Either get there first thing in the morning or drop it off, don’t waste time.

Tediously long process with rude staff. I understand going through so many items while people wait is no fun. No reason to be rude to people especially when they do not understand your process.

I always find what Im looking for here. I dont come in often, but when I do its usually just for 1 particular type of item. I enjoy their selection. Ive been coming to this store since 2011 and I appreciate they dont hand out plastic bags for your items.

This location Uptown Cheapskate is great! I have been here about 8 times or so over the last 2 years, as I live out of state, but when visiting the Augusta area for family I’m always looking forward to stopping by to see what I can pick up. Well organized store and clothing is actually fairly priced compared to some other ones I have been to. Employees are always greeting, friendly, and helpful every time I have been here. Cynthia was my cashier today and she was very friendly and gave top notch service. The welcoming service and the special deals and promotions they often have always make it worth the trip here.

When I tell you that the staff in this place are super amazing I mean it! Each employee was down to earth and very quick to make you feel great about yourself when you are having a conversation. None of the employees never pushed products on me or asked me if I needed help more than Necessary, they all advertised the clothing and sales items perfectly. ALSO all of items are always perfectly placed in the racks and easy to find thanks to the staff. The team at Uptown has to be the best crew at any retail store ever!-Real review from a very happy customer!!

I love it this store is well kept with everything you could ask for. The mange is awesome and always ready to answer any questions about the merchandise.

Great place to find deals on name brands. I don’t like how when I go to sell many of my things that are worth good money are offered low amounts. I stopped selling to y’all, but I still love shopping there.

Love 💕 I’m able to trade clothes I don’t wear anymore and for clothes that are cute and slightly used. Win-Win! The store is clean, staff is nice and they even have fitting rooms!

I went for uptown cheapskates and dollar day deals and I found three outfits and two pairs of shoes and ended up spending around $40. Amazing value and there was a lot of cute stuff.You do have to look so make sure you have plenty of time to look through all the racks but if youre willing to take the time you can find really cute stuff.

The people are friendly and the prices are reasonable. My daughter got 3 nice pairs of jeans and one pair of leggings a shirt and sweater all for $34.00. Two items still had the original tags on them. If you need like new clothes, on a budget, you cant go wrong with this place!!!

I have been a customer with this store both purchasing and selling items for over five years. I will no longer be doing business with the evans store, or the Uptown Cheapskate anymore due to the sorry mistakes of your customers. I donated items less than two weeks ago, over five bags worth of clothes, high end dresses, shoes, etc. per the new policy, they all had to be brought in reusable bags or totes. I made sure that the employee knew that I wanted the bags back since they were very nice bags, and some that had sentimental value to them. I never received a phone call letting me know my items were ready to be picked up, and due to COVID, I was not going to be a pesky customer that called every hour wanting to know a status. I thought I was doing the right thing by being patient. I called today and Amanda notified me that my items and bags were all donated since they didn’t hear from me. I never had a missed call or notification from them. Amanda was incredibly rude and unprofessional, and simply ready to quit dealing with me. After I told her that I was not happy with the situation, she proceeded to throw items as she walked away from me. I am extremely disappointed in how the situation was handled, and how I was treated.

Always a clean, professional and friendly setting to walk into. The clothes are current and trendy and they only take clothes in top condition. Never had a bad shopping experience, never dealt with unprofessionalism or unkindness in any form. The clothes are affordable and the accessories such as the jewelry and purses can be very alluring to those who may have a fetish in either regard. Hope you visit them and find the experience as enjoyable as I have these past 2 years.

Always a great experience at this Uptown location. I definitely prefer this one over the other one in town. The employees are always cheerful, polite & willing to help if & when needed. 😊

My favorite store. I am a Grad student and I needed some teaching clothes. I got everything I needed and more for the price of one high end top at a different retail store.

Rude workers!! I do not wear a face mask because I cant. I have a doctors order stating why I cant. They kicked me out of the store today! There were other people in the store with a mask on, but not covering their nose or mouth. I pointed that out and they said that was okay! I asked so wearing a mask the improper way was okay? They said yes! I will be contacting my lawyers. I have it all on video. I was harassed and mistreated. Your store will never get my business and I will be posting the video all over social media!!!!

Trendy clothes great value

Havent been in a while, decided to go by and see what they had. To be a second hand store, they dont have second hand prices. I understand that some things are name brand second hand, but its still second hand. They havent always been pricey🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

They will give you 10 cents on the dollar for your stuff. I walked in with a bag full of Ralph Lauren and Levis 501 Jeans and they offered me 29 dollars for 6 pairs of 501s and 1 belt. Thats yard sale rate. Just be warned. Dont expect to get decent prices for your stuff if youre selling. Pretty much pawn shop rate.

My experience is always pleasant at Uptowncheapskate now let me go on to mention how thankful I was to find a store approximately three years ago I never go anywhere else I don’t have to go anywhere else for my small size the quality of clothes is amazingThe prices are amazing how much I get to save I just feel the storeis a huge blessing I just don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have the store to go to honestly

Great place to shop. Bargains galore

I had to take my kids school shopping, and i asked a friend about the malls, and was told about uptown cheapskate. my girls wanted to check it out, we ended up getting most of there school clothes at cheapskate,s it was great to see both of my girls have so much fun going through all the top brands of clothing, trying them on .we ended going back the next day to get a few other things to finish up school shopping, i even grabed a few clothes in the mens section for my self, this is a great store my girls really enjoyed it

Very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. I rated it only 4 stars because I prefer the old location vs this much larger store. Its almost overwhelming if you dont know what youre looking for since they have such a huge selection. With that comes variety though which is why I love it. Dressing room wait time was very short and they do a great job keeping up with it. Some of the isles had too many clothes for my liking where everything fit too tightly together making it difficult to look at each piece (womens sleeveless tops section for example).However, very well organized by size, style, even color for the most part. Prices seem to be marked very fair and I like that the return policy is now 14 days where it used to be only 7. If youre looking for trendy clothes/shoes/bags/jewelry and more for a fraction of the average retail price, this is the place for you! For both men and women. You must have patience though...Its a lot to go through if youre just looking!:)

Uptown RIP off is a better name. Long wait times. Super slow staff. This place gives you pennies for your nice designer clothes and goods. Its great if you want money for a happy meal, or if you are just not nice enough to give your stuff to goodwill. On top of that they sell stuff for close to retail price. The joker that came up with this place must be filthy rich. I cant say he or she aint smart. Im going to continue to buy my name brand goodies on sale. When Im sick of them Ill donate them to poor and God will bless me. AMEN!!!P.S. I sold some shoes today for a measly $5. They were just too tight and I was too pooped to drive to Goodwill. So many great deals! Clothes and shoes are in great condition! Only place in town you can get that much for your money!

Way overpriced and don’t even think they’re going to give you a fair market value for your clothes. You might as well dump them off in a green bin somewhere but don’t take them to Goodwill. Goodwill turned into a higher price place too. They’re turning into a retail market. For example I found a pair of shoes in uptown cheapskate that was marked from Goodwill on the bottom of the soul for $9.99 and uptown cheapskate was now selling that same pair for 39.99! How about that for a freaking mark up, and the shoes were from Goodwill! Also...If you do take your clothes here or shoes here to sell, whatever you do do not leave behind I repeat do not leave behind the clothes they don’t buy from you. I heard from a good source (somebody who used to work there), Thry bank on majority of people not wanting to deal with taking the clothes home again so when you leave them behind they keep them and sell them anyway and they didn’t have to give you jack for it. And throw them in the dumpster before I let them.

Unreasonable prices for selling clothes

This is one of my favorite places to shop. I drive to augusta from columbia to visit this store. Its getting a bit more expensive lately but i still enjoy the experience

My experience was fantastic. Firstly, hand sanitizer was provided as you entered and left the store.The store was clean, in order with appropriate limits set re number of clients allowed in store. The clothes and shoes are in primo condition.During my visit I watched the manager pull up her sleeves and find a pair of exercise pants for a customer she knew would like them. Best yet, when I needed help, the manager treated/assisted me no differently. She’s friendly, decisive and doesn’t mind getting into the fray. Now that’s service!Thanks for reopening. Dev and Madison were really sweet. Dev showed me all the really smelly good candles that they didnt have up front and I love them! He was also happy to show myself and my friends where we needed to go and was happy to help us with anything we asked. Madison was so sweet while ringing me up. Very nice smiling faces. These people look happy to be there!

Went to both of the UC in Augusta Georgia. I found everything I needed and more. Excellent customer service and they practice all the safety precautions for COVID-19

The clothing items are a good quality they look brand-new and you pay less than 20% of the original cost if I had bought it straight from the store. I love the Evans location because the clothes are awesome! I I was able to do school shopping for my daughter and she got at least 20 outfits for less than a hundred bucks. Now tell me that is not a great deal! And items look brand new

Great resale place with exceptional quality.

Each time i have gone has been a very pleasant experience. The store helpers are eager to help, will answer questions, will make suggestions if asked, never underfoot and ready to cash you out when you are ready. The store appearance is very neat and clean. Tho there are lots of clothing, it is not crowded. The price point is good and in most cases it is fair . Overall, I enjoy shopping here

I love coming here for my clothes for two reasons. First reason I am allergic to a lot of dyes and most of the clothes here are second hand. Secondly I love shopping here because everyone is so nice and very helpful. I even had a lady go back and forth and get my different sizes in different dresses and find me matching shoes. She is so sweet and no one ever gets upset with you. I would highly recommend shopping here!

The clothes are over priced to me although in well condition. They do not give you alot of money for clothes that you sell to them nor do they take a good amount of them even if they are new Ive tried both ways but when they put them out on the floor they are triple the amount they gave you.

Pretty cool concept. Bring old clothes here instead of good will to get some extra spending bucks. Theyll give 20% extra if you choose store credit instead of cash. Have a lot of trendy clothes and nice shirts for men and women.

Staff not friendly and the store has become so cluttered with stuff. My experience just wasnt the same, I use to love shopping in there but I can find better deals at the regular stores...especially places like Marshalls, TJMaxx, etc.

If you like getting offered $3 for a BNWT The North Face sweater, this is definitely the place to go sell your clothes at. I understand making your money, but come on? Im not going to sit here and believe yall were actually going to sell that sweater at $9 [3 times the amount offered]Oh, and the cherry on top, is the rude staff they have hired in. Not one person seemed welcoming what so ever.I will just save my stuff for Platos closet whenever I visit home.
