I brought two vehicles in for chip repairs. They cracked both windshields during the repair process. My insurance did not cover any of the replacement cost based on my deductible, so I had to pay for both replacements out of pocket. I brought one of those vehicles back again due to a whistling sound from the new windshield, which they replaced under warranty. I still have yet to get my safety cameras aligned after that replacement, which will cost me $75 and my car has no crash prevention features in the meantime. All for a couple easy chip repairs.

In early May of this year I was referred to safelite by my insurance company to have my windshield repaired on my FJ cruiser. Upon picking my truck up after the replacement, my husband inspected the windshield and noticed that the panels surrounding my windshield were loose, the paint on the panels sounding my windshield were scratched, and there were 6 dents on my roof surrounding the panels that hold my windshield in. My husband brought it to the managers attention and he told my husband that the paint was like that when we bought it to him, the dents were not done by him, and the panels were broken due to the installation being difficult. The manager told my husband he would order parts from Toyota to have the panels replaced. Months went by with no contact so my husband went back to the store and the manager then told my husband that the panels were broken from his “ shirt getting caught on them during removal “. I ended up taking my truck to a collision repair shop to get a second opinion, they told me that the type of damage that was done to my truck was indeed done during the replacement, including the scratches on my paint, and quoted to damage at over $3,000. ( my roof will have to be replaced due to dents, my panels will have to be repainted, clips will have to be replaced, as well as other repairs )I contacted the safelite store again today, ( august 9, 2021 ) and he told me that he was “Just about to give me a call today “ which I knew was a lie because it’s been over 3 months since the incident happened. I proceeded to ask for a corporate phone number and an email to his head boss… he gave me a nonexistent email address and I am unable to get in contact with anyone via the corporate phone number that I’ve been trying to reach out to. I’m BEYOND frustrated with the service I have received from them and I honestly think they shouldn’t be working on people’s cars if they’re going to damage them and then lie about it.

Easy peasy check in, drop off and picked up the next day as I requested and they had no problem with it.

Today I had Safelite Auto come out to my house to fix a chip in my windshield. When I left to run errands I asked if I needed to stay, the tech stated no and she would leave the receipt on my seat. When I returned home I went to go look at my windshield. There was now a 2 inch crack and the chip was still there, not fixed. I never received from the tech stating they damaged my windshield. I called Safelite auto and spoke with a gentleman there, when I was explaining what had happened, the guy I was speaking with cut me off before I could finish and said Didnt you sign a waiver I told him well no, my husband did. He said Well this sometimes happens, and thats the risk you run doing this service. There was no apology, no offer of solution, nothing. When I brought up the fact my husband signed the waiver for my car I did not so the waiver should be voided he said Well, I will have to have someone call you back. I then a few hours later called Safelite back after not getting a call and spoke with the Manager. The manager wasnt very much help either. She was not offering ANY solutions, other then they could refund my insurance company and then they could create a new claim to have my windshield completely replaced, and that would only happen after I pay my $500 deductible. I then told her that the crack they created was 2 inches and I read they can fix cracks up to 6inches. Only then she offered to have the same tech who has previously cracked my windshield come out and try to fix my windshield again. BUT she could crack it more and then it would have to be replaced. I declined further service from Safelite and called my insurance company and will be going through a different glass company to fix what Safelite did. SO not only did Safelite make my window shield worse, they were completely rude and seemed ONLY concerned about the waiver, they then only offered a solution after I prompted them to do so. So my ADVICE would be to not go through Safelite, they do not stand by there work, but if you do go through Safelite do not sign the waiver. UPDATE: the owner of the store below that commented didn’t address AGAIN the costumer service. Just essentially said we can try to fix it. Go through a company who can do better then a “maybe”, check out this companies Facebook reviews also before choosing this company

They were so quick to have the glass and they had my truck done sooner than they said! They vacuumed out all the broken glass and everyone was so friendly!

I had such a pleasant experience having my windshield replaced. You cant beat the price for the amount of labor needed to replace it. The technician even vacuumed out my driver and passenger side of the car and cleaned all my windows, leaving it cleaner then it was when I brought it in. Believe it or not Im looking forward to the next time my windshield is damaged and look forward to seeing you all again.

The techs were very friendly and patient as they helped me sort out my insurance for the work order. The work was done quickly and well. They had my windshield replaced in about 35 minutes. I appreciated how kind the techs were and the way they updated me about the time it was going to take. Overall a very positive experience.

Very helpful staff. Worked with insurance company even though my insurance wasnt being helpful even after setting up the appointment through them. Replaced 2 windshield glass on 2 different cars. Did a great job on both. Unfortunately living in Alaska they were cracked within 3 months.

When I was younger i was naive and I didn’t know anything about body work,Make sure that when you’re glass is replaced you look around the edges of the glass, and that they did a good job.Now that I’m into the body work industry I realized they didn’t on my car.I haven’t replaced the glass since safe glass did it.And there’s scratches all around of the glass due to the tools used to cut it out.And I also had rust witch could potentially lead to holes or more rust underneath the paint.

Really quick and fast service. They keep you ipdated in the progress if you have to have a windshield replaced. They have great customer service. However I keep my car in mint condition the interior of my car is like new. I got my car back very dirty. I went to clean my seats and there was this black greasy substance I cleaned up from my seats. The floor mats were dirty and the car had to be vacuumed and detailed. Great service however a not so clean outcome. I would use this company again only because I had a crystal fusion windshield warranty and it was free. I wish they could be cleaner.

I came in with a messed up hood that wasn’t shut all the way and hit the windshield and of course they had to bring a tech in to make sure they can installed the windshield. They did there job efficiently and apologized to me about taking so long. I was only there for 45 minutes. They vacuumed my truck out.. They had a better price than any other place I called and they gave me a great warranty. Can’t thank them enough!

Needed to get cracks in my windshield replaced.My first time into Safelite and the employees are sitting in their chairs feet up on the counter, vaping stuff on the counter, first impressions were not good seemed very grungy.Dropped my vehicle off and did not hear from them till I called hours later and was told thay my vehicle had been done 3 hours prior to my call.They didnt update me or attempt to let me know my vehicle was done which made what I thought would be a short while without my vehicle turn into a few cab trips to get errands done.My rating is based on service quality and the poor impression upon walking in.2 stars for at least doing the bare minimum with nothing notable service wise.

Great service! Got an appointment two days from when I called. Took the vehicle in. Management was very polite and receptive. Waited 15 minutes and my truck was taken back. An hour and a half later I had a brand new windshield and was on my way. Noticed some damage to my weather stripping. Turns out my last windshield was installed incorrectly leading or covering up the damage. Asked the manager and he was more than willing to help me understand this.

I had an unusual request the day I went into my local Safelite store (store ID #6598). The day before, I got a chip in my custom Jeep Renegade windshield. Its winter time in Fairbanks, Alaska right now and if you wait a day or 2 to get your chips fix, 9 times out of 10, it cracks throughout the windshield from the cold. I learned this the hard way. I have a brand new Jeep and paid for the extra windshield warranty through Crystal Fusion. I filed a claim with them over the phone the morning of 3/2/2018. They said Safelite would be calling me in 24-48 hours. It was a Friday and I knew my chip would probably crack by the following week. So since I live 40 miles away and was in the area of my local Safelite shop at the time, I just stopped by to see if they could fit me in. Of course they didnt have my info from Crystal Fusion yet and since I didnt want to pay out of pocket ($124!!!), they said I could call Crystal Fusion to see if they could push the claim through. So I went out to my jeep and decided to call the main Safelite number to see if they had my info and could help me. I talked to a gentleman named Noble. He was so nice and kept trying to find my info so he could schedule an appointment for me. After all his work, he was unable to help me. I sure appreciated everything he tried to do. It was very refreshing the level of customer service he gave over the phone, even though he couldnt help me. He recommended I call Crystal Fusion back and see if they could help. So I did. After finding out my local Safelite store ID number, the agent with Crystal Fusion was able to push my claim through and said someone at Safelite would be calling me within in 5 minutes. To my surprise, a lady from Safelite called me and said my info would be sent to my local store within a few minutes. She scheduled my appointment to take place within 30 minutes. Since I live so far away, I was super happy. Within 15 minutes, a technician came out to my jeep and said they could work on my jeep now. I was so happy! 20 minutes later, my windshield chip was fixed and you couldnt even see it. It was right in my drivers side view. The technician was super nice and friendly. He left window cleaning spray and a box of paper towels in my jeep to thank me for coming in. I shook his hand and thanked him. I was blown away by his friendliness. (Technician number 06591-857) Overall, I was completely pleased how both companies worked together to get my chip fixed. When you have a new vehicle, you want to do everything to keep it looking nice and Im glad Safelite was able to help me out. Thank you!

They accept usaa insurance, windshield chips are free, and i can make an appt same or next day if i wanted. Theyre friendly, they vacuum the floor mats and clean all the windows. Nothing to complain about, only nice things to say!
