I am very happy that I went with Metro Garage. I appreciate that they were honest with the time it could take to get my car in but they were able to get it in a lot sooner. The customer service was excellent! Everyone I spoke to was so nice and great at communicating so I knew what to expect. I will trust them in the future to take care of my car!

Metro was awesome, despite being super busy during the tire change out season. They even got an oil change done for me when I asked if they could do it last minute. Super helpful staff willing to talk through inspection details, and they got my vehicle done a little earlier in the work day so I wouldn’t have to be without a car. Very friendly service. Kept me informed of progress on my vehicle at all times and sends a link detailing inspection findings, recommendations, actions taken, service provided, etc.. VERY fast turnaround and surprisingly reasonable cost given the level of service I received. Highly recommended, although plan ahead as they are scheduled out pretty far. That is to be expected for a shop of this quality though.

Fantastic service center. I needed a last minute repair after finding a small transmission leak and they we were able to work my car in next day. The service tech was able to make repairs so I would be able to make my scheduled drive. They even offered to try to work me in the following day to make sure the repair held. Grateful for an honest shop that can be trusted.

I definitely recommend them. This last time, I spoke with Forrest after they worked on my car and diagnosed the numerous problems. There was no hesitation when I asked if some of the problems could be fixed by myself. He even recommended a couple auto parts stores that would probably have the parts and tools I might need.The first time I dropped my car off here in an emergency they accidentally went overtime on their diagnostics. Usually, they check-in with the owners before throwing too much time and therefore money into diagnostics, but they lost track of time. Rather than charge me for the whole time, they only charged me for the amount of time they usually spend before checking-in and asked if Id be willing to pay for a fraction of the over-time. With that kind of honesty I didnt mind covering some more of their time.

The car engine warning light was on in our Nissan Altima. Also, some noises and burning smell were on tire, so we went to this place to check the problems. We are foreigners and worried about excessive maintenance because we were not good at English, but the staffs were really really kind and seemd to repair only the essential parts. The price was really reasonable, too. If there is a problem with the car again next time, I will definitely visit here!!

What a place! I feel so lucky to be able to bring my car to such a professional and trusted shop. On top of their more than sufficient communication, theyre on the look-out for things that really need to be serviced. I have had my car serviced a number of times over the years, but apparently my cabin air filter was an atrocity, a downright health hazard of dust and mold they found. They were able to replace this for me as well as a headlight that had gone out just the day before my brake pad/oil change appointment. The service was efficient and competitively priced. Would recommend!!NEW UPDATE:Had my vehicle towed here recently. The first time I’ve had troubles with more than the battery so I was extra concerned. Metro got me in and got me tuned up all before the weekend. They are conservative with their scheduling and managed so tune up every little thing I needed in no time at all. Love this place!!

Had a slight communication gap due to a previous cancelled appointment still being in the system, so it took a bit longer than of that issue had been cleared.. but things like that happen and I will most definitely be back. Felt trustworthy, in price and work done. Information given on the inspection was super helpful and straight forward. Adjusted a squeaky belt for me. Kind and easy to work with.

Referenced by coworker to work on my Toyota. Dropped vehicle off for 120k mile inspection and within hours I was contacted with condition and recommended repairs. I agreed with their recommendation and by end of week I had my car back. I must say I was very pleased with entire experience. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing vehicle serviced.

Great service, great communication. They actually turn down work on your vehicle (meaning they are honest). They have installed a rebuilt transmission and fixed a cylinder misfiring on my truck. Only complaint is that my vehicle wasn’t plugged in when I went to pick it up after hours, so it didn’t start. Hopefully it’ll fire up when I go back today.

I have never been happier than since i switched from the other Subaru/Toyota specialist to the real one Metro Garage. If you dont need work done, they will never tell you you do and never invent repairs or oil changes that dont exist.I have been in Fairbanks 40 years and honesty is wearing thin in our little town, but Metro you can trust 100 percent, every time, all the time.I also like their levels from 1 to 5 of concern for repairs needed if any, thus you know where you stand and what to expect in the future, unlike others who tell you to bring your car right away (the other shopss favorite leitmotive) and that repairs need attention right away, while in reality your car is glued to their lot for days and later you discover at Metro that repairs dont exist or that you should not dump any more big money into a car that will keep eating you alive, which is hard to accept once you find yourself already upside down!And repairs are always timely at Metro and perfect, even though mechanical problems are often not black and white and shops can be so busy.I dont hear Metro bombard the public with advertisements, probably they dont need to, word of mouth is still the best business builder, but once again, being able to have total trust in my garage is crucial for me because I really have no clue about mechanical stuff and they could feed me any BS and i would have to buy it.And thanks Abbie for your patience and explaining things so well to me, a neophyte.Never close your doors Metro i would not know where to go.Endlessly Thank You.Anneline J Rochet.

Metro kept their staff and their customers safety in mind by providing a completely social distance experience. Keys dropped in an envelope, bill paid over the phone, keys and receipt left in the car for you. An extremely detailed report was provided with pictures included and recommended future repairs. They answered all of my questions and provided a full oil change and filter, including a top off of fluids and a complete inspection for a very reasonable price. WILL DO BUSINESS WITH AGAIN! 🙂

I took my car here for the first time in February of 2020 for something that needed to be fixed right away, and my dad couldnt do it (I dont remember what was fixed now). They were very easy to work with and i was able to get in soon and it took just a day. I was able to pick up my car after hours and pay on the phone. They worked around my schedule perfectly! After that experience I took my car in for a full diagnostic at Metropolitan Garage before selling it to my sister. They worked up a full report with all the information I needed to know. Including pictures! For someone who knows extremely little about cars, this was a god send. I was able to look at it myself and see what things needed to be prioritized and what could wait a bit. I called with any questions I had and Abby was nice and thorough. I was able to make another appointment to get things fixed and also within my time frame!I have a 2005 Subaru, and theyve treated her perfectly through the whole process. Not once did I feel like they were pressuring me to get anything fixed.I honestly cannot recommend Metropolitan Garage enough! Thank you!

Was calling around to see who could get my bone stock 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee in to replace a blown high pressure power steering line. Told me flat out on the phone they wont work on Jeeps? Never had a shop refuse work before. The Chevron on Illinois was able to take care of me.

On their detailed print out they had the audacity to ask me if the oil has ever been changed since the last time they did the head gaskets and claimed the seals were blown out due to abuse. Clearly a tactic to cover the work they did previously. Metropolitan garage conveniently works on cheaply constructed Subaru’s in the northern most city in the USA. With an average year round temperature of 34°. So they have found themselves a nice lucrative business. I doubt they’ve ever covered anything on the labor they do. They knew that Subaru was not driven by A West Valley school teacher so they could pretty much get away with anything. I suggest Sunshine motors.

We are always greeted professionally & made to feel welcome. Staff always works with us to help us drop off early or pick up vehicles dung their closed hours since we are from out of town. The jobs we’ve had done are always done well & with conscious thought of cost to us as customers. I’m always made to feel that getting the jobs done safely, correctly & cost-consciously is forefront in their goals.

Probably the best shopIn Fairbanks, but the hardest to get in for repair.I have used them several occasions and it’s seems to be a month wait to get a vehicle in for service. My last service was almost a 2 month wait to get it and unfortunately I had to cancel.But if you have the time this company does good work.

Wow - I am so impressed with Metro Garage. Owning a 2014 Subaru Outback, I have had my fair share of visits to automotive shops. I will continue to drive from the MatSu Valley to visit them for work. I love the key drop off and pick up service - they truly work around your schedule. They are quick, reasonably priced and so professional. After being burned at another local shop they took care of me right away - I will continue to recommend Metro to anyone who needs their car/truck serviced.

Somehow, that very day, they were able to assess the issues with my vehicle and offer me several options for repairs. This is the only place in town I will take my vehicles. Believe the hype, these guys truly are professional, honest, and reasonable. They are the first mechanic shop I’ve had tell me all the problems my old vehicles have that aren’t worth fixing! They also take very good care fixing the things that are important. They also worked me into their crazy busy fall schedule when my vehicle started making a weird noise. I really just can’t say enough good things about this shop.

I ran into some mechanical problems and needed to find a shop I could bring my vehicle into as soon as possible to be checked out and fixed as I work two jobs and have a very demanding schedule. I called 9 different garages and this is the only one that really worked with me and found a way to squeeze me in the schedule to get my vehicle checked out and taken care of. They diagnosed and fixed the problems over the course of two days. They also were entirely honest about everything on my vehicle, informing me of not just what I needed fixed, but future things to look into maintenancing and consider. I highly appreciated that extra input cause a previous shop I went to a few weeks ago neglected to tell me these things when I paid them for a full inspection. The quality of work here is amazing. I was satisfied with the pricing as well, it was what was expected and not outrageous.I also have to say the two women at the front desk were the friendliest! They made going into the mechanics shop a lot less stressful. It was nice to be greeted with such positive energy from kind people. Im very satisfied with my experience here.Ive had a considerable amount of bad experiences with mechanic shops so usually the thought of dealing with one makes me anxious, this was a refreshing experience. If you ever feel like a shop you go to doesnt really care at all about the quality of work or well being of your vehicle, I highly recommend trying this place.

After unexpected car trouble on what was supposed to be a day trip from Denali to Fairbanks, Metropolitan Garage did everything in their power to diagnose and get to work on my vehicle right away. An unexpected full engine repair isnt something anyone wants to deal with or pay for, but these folks went above and beyond to find all the issues, let me know what was essential in regards to repair, and complete the extensive work SO quickly. Both Abby and Samantha were incredibly friendly and helpful over the phone and really took the time to explain all the issues to me and always returned my calls/inquiries in a timely manner despite this being a crazy busy time of the year for them!Thank you to everyone at Metro for your help, I will be recommending you to everyone I know! :)

I had a great experience with Metro, who I use exclusively for work on my aging Subaru. They did my seasonal tire change, and also replaced the CV joint cover. This wasnt anything that needed to happen immediately, but they had noted it as something to be aware of when they did an overall inspection during a recent oil change. I decided to get it done sooner rather than later, and they were able to do it when I brought the car in for my scheduled appt. I appreciate them letting me know about potential issues, and as always, the great work they do on my car.

Fantastic shop! I really like texts they send telling you the progress of your vehicle. The final bill contains not only a detailed explanation but also images of the repairs made. My appointment on July 16, 2020, was scheduled on-line. When the 60k Mile service was completed for my 2011 Subaru Outback I received a call from Samantha, who summarized the notes by the mechanic, and transacted my credit card payment. I picked up my car later that day without ever doing a face-to-face with anyone at the shop. Under the circumstances of Covid-19, that was a plus, though I always prefer to chat with the friendly and competent staff in person.

Metro fixed a 5 months long wheel balance issue that was entirely created and unfixed by a well known new car dealer in town. Metro is my go-to auto repair from now on.

We took our car in to have what they call an annual assessment. The report was detailed and spelled out areas to watch to areas of immediate action. We had a discussion with the staff and determined what we could have done now. Based on this conversation we had several items addressed and repaired. We are very pleased with this business and will definitely go back to them again and again. They earned our trust.

Since we live out of town, we rely on our Suby, and we rely on Metro to keep it in tiptop shape for us. They are nice to work with, they do great work, and they have been our first choice for years. In these days of COVID, they allow you to drop off the car, pay for repairs, and pick it up without ever going into the office. Metro Garage staff once again took great care of my Subaru Forester while minimizing any COVID-19 transfer dangers. My car was wiped cleaner than it was when I left it. Also, Abby made sure I could access my car even with my broken wrist that was casted after I dropped off my car. The Metro staff made my day (again). I had no trouble removing my winter tires and rims from my car because they had securely bagged them.

This was the most pleasant car repair experience Ive ever had! In the past Ive taken my car to the Ford dealer for service, but when I called this week about a problem that I felt was urgent, they said it would be a month for the next available appointment. Metro got me in the very next day and within just a couple hours I was back on the road, feeling confident about driving my car again. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and I especially appreciate Abby sitting down with me and explaining everything so clearly.
