So 1st time ever buying a vehicle online, but I just wasnt finding what I was looking for anywhere near me. I did a search and my ride showed up on the Jim McKay Chevy website. Well, followed through and initially worked with Mike Pena in Sales. He was just awesome from the 1st convo! Professional and conversational simultaneously! Theres no doubt in my heart he did all he could to ensure this car would be mine. Thank you Mike for all your help. Ill always remember you my friend!! And then to finalize and lend in the extra and very appreciated hand was Xavier Siri. All smooth and efficient with his particular method in driving the entire process to its end, culminating in the best purchase experience of my life! The staff is extremely knowledgeable and are very quick. I’ve had an alignment an oil change at a different dealership and it took over 5 hours to complete. At Jim McKay’s I got the same services done in less than an hour and a half. The service was also over $120 less in total! I’m definitely coming back for all my servicing needs.

After getting turned down by 1 place and only offered a USED car from another, I was beginning to lose hope. Took my truck in for a safety recall. Mike was great working with me to schedule an appointment and to get the issue resolved quickly when I came in. They also did a detailed inspection that found a problem I didnt find out about in my state inspection and gave me a quote to fix it. Mike also personally showed me the problem. I am very pleased and highly recommend them.

Daniel’s service was disappointing to say the least. He assured me that a part on my car only needed to be repaired, so that my check engine light would cut off, but not even 10 minutes after I left the dealership it noticed that it cut back on. I called him and he acted as if he didn’t assure me that it only needed to be repaired and not replaced. Fortunately, I was able to get a refund and will get it replaced at a better establishment.

The service at Jim McKay was the best I’ve had in awhile! Mike Ramey was amazing. He was quick to respond and was great at communicating with me. He let me know every step of the way what was needed and made it understandable. The shop staff finished my job quickly and even helped identify a few other issues that needed to be dealt with. I thought the price was fair and that they were completely honest with me in what needed to be done. A great experience overall!

I went to pick up my vehicle and the key could not be found. My ride had already left and I was basically left to figure out how I was going to get home. I had to ask if a loaner was available and of course there wasn’t one. I found my way home but no thanks to your staff. My car key was found the next morning and when I called and spoke with Dennis, I asked for some sort of discount for the inconvenience I encountered. He said he would ask the manager. Very warm and friendly staff. Definitely not your typical car salespeople. My wife and I are having twins and they did everything they could to take care of us and put us in the right car. We had several salesmen at different dealerships who 100% shut off once we told them we were not buying that day but at jim mckay the staff continued to joyfully work with us and make us feel at home. Theres not a lot I recommend about the DC area but I definitely recommend this dealership.

I dealt with Alex Vasquez. We took the car I was asking about for a test drive and then came inside to talk numbers and whatever else the car needed. Everything went very smoothly. The price was finally decided upon after meeting with Darreus Mascall. I had an appointment with another dealership in the afternoon and decided McKays was the better deal. I returned the next day and made the purchase. Everyone at McKays were very professional and polite and helpful and easy to deal with.

I have to say it was demoralizing to leave with unmet expectations. My sales person was being talked down to by the manager and it was very unprofessional. I really felt bad for him and really regret purchasing a car with a blind spot warning. I would have nvr known about if my insurance had not told me the following business day. I also dont appreciate being lied to twice during the process about the car by two managers just to hurry up and get the sale completed The first lie was the gas tank cover would have a lock installed. The second lie could of been a mistake but she should not have lied and given detailed description of the features she didnt honestly know about. For example new cars automatically lock on the gas tank cover when the car is locked, and automatically unlocking when the car is unlocked.

Kudos to Chris Wilson, Tamika and Elia (and McKay Chevrolet) for stepping up and resolving a General Motors tire rebate issue. In short, I mailed to GM a $100 rebate form and various documentation after buying 4 Goodyear Eagles from McKay on Nov. 3, 20....mailed rebate form and documents on Nov. 16, and was asked to wait 6 - 8 weeks before checking on status. I called for status on 12/28 and was told by GM in Bartlett, TN, they hadnt recd my info and was instructed to re-send. Yeah....right! Offer expires on Dec. 31. That office offered no other assistance....asked them to check with McKay to confirm my purchase. They declined. Contacted McKay on 12/28, explained the situation to the 3 people named above and the issue was resolved today (29th). Kudos to the McKay team for having my back.

There were only two people who actively wore their masks properly. Everyone else either had their mask below their nose, chin, or didnt have a mask anywhere on their person. Some employees wore gaiters, which are not useful in fighting the pandemic whatsoever. The man who I signed up with for my service was named David and when I saw him, he had his mask below his chin. By the time I was in the process of driving my car into the dealership, I didnt want to leave my car with anyone who worked there. However, Mike and Wayne were wonderful and I completely recommend them because they were friendly, helpful, and wore their masks properly the entire time. I mean my car is fixed but I didnt feel safe in the vicinity or leaving my car with those who could be carrying COVID.

Our car (2017 Chevy Volt) was towed to the dealership January 13th, 2021 with an electronic brake control problem. Today, March 16th, 8 weeks later, we finally got the car back. Most of the issues were beyond the dealership control (waiting for parts, wrong parts) but it was difficult to reach anyone to get updates on the situation as it dragged on.My recommendations to you: 1) Have a service manager review a daily list of cars that have been at the dealership more than 10 business days, and provide an update to the customer every day or every second day, even if no status change. Please do not make the customer chase down information after that length of time.2) Require a service manager look over the car prior to returning it to ensure car is still in good working condition, (if car has been sitting for weeks like ours), items have been returned to their proper place and surfaces have been wiped down/vacuumed.I know these are challenging times, but we were patient with all the hiccups and understand many were beyond the dealerships control. However, it would be hard to recommend McKay for someone who has other options as our car was essentially warehoused for weeks without proactive updates and then not checked to confirm original service issue was still resolved before being returned.Rough timeline:Jan 13 - car towed to Jim McKay after indicators that it was not safe to driveJan 15 - problem diagnosed, part orderedJan 27 - part replaced, problem resolved, but windshield was accidentally brokenJan 27-March 12 : wrong windshield was sent to dealership, discovered that Volt windshields were all mislabeled at the warehouse and Chevy had to resolve that issue before sending a replacement. Six weeks passed and we were only given updates if we initiated contact and left several messages first.March 12 : original date to pick up car. One block from dealership, the dash lights up again indicating car was not safe to drive. Taken back to dealership where service tech apologized and sent us home again with a loaner.March 16: Car is ready for pickup and test drive confirms all is well. Discovered that protective battery cover and screws, etc were left loose in trunk. Tools that lived in the wheel well and came with the car are missing. Interior of the car is dirty from work performed. After 8 weeks it was disappointing to get the car back in that condition.
