Like most Shell gas stations,I find the fuel, the service and the facilities to be very clean and well-maintained. The gas station is one that I frequent quite a bit because its not too busy during the times I visit. In addition, the gas station has a decent car wash providing a cleaning service done gas stations dont provide. This Shell station is located inside a very popular shopping center, so you get the best of both worlds because a customer can shop and eat here then fill-up as needed. Keep in mind that this Shells gas prices are comparable to most within the area. I recommend anyone living in the vicinity to frequent this gasoline station whenever possible for accessibility and reliability.
Awesome people and very helpful they will help you any way they can we were stranded in fairfax due to our car completely broke and we were 6 hours away from home and they made sure we made it home they worked very hard to make sure we made it back home i totally recommend them the owner and his employees are amazing people
I got a late night flat, night before a holiday. Had the car towed there after hours. The entire team was courteous and even gave me a loaner as I had to get to work. My tire was replaced timely and at a fair price! Top notch and trustworthy service provided by the entire team!!!
Jeff Gould is honest and extremely helpful . I trust them with my vehicle and feel their prices are fair. Staff is professional & courteous. I drive 30 miles to bring my car to Fairfax for any repairs.
Really thankful I found this place. I called around several places to get my car inspected, and not only did this place actually answer the phone, but they were also helpful with my questions. The process for state inspection was very easy and fast. My car failed for a broken part and cloudy headlights (rightly so.) After I got everything fixed, I brought it back for re- inspection and it was just as quick and easy as the first time. I really appreciate the extended hours here, and the customer service is great.
Went in for Emission Inspection on a Tuesday morning. Waited an hour with only 1 car in front of me. Customer service can be better too.
This place is fantastic. Jeff Gould (the manager) has gone above and beyond to ensure my new (used) car is safe and trouble free after a major failure (timing chain). This is one of few auto service centers left in the area that (A) has the technical expertise and equipment to fix complex problems - AND (B) is affordable, fair and honest. This is the ONLY place I take my vehicles and have done so for years. If your warranty has expired on your car, I strongly advise skipping the dealership and taking it here.
Hands down the most friendly customer service. These guys are trustworthy, have excellent communication skills, and do a good job! When coming in for a VA state inspection, this place is always busy. Dropping your car off is the best way to get it done. The wait can be an hour or more if there are 3 cars in front of you in line. This place is great so people want to get their car inspected here. Call ahead to see how long the wait is, it will save you a trip.
Tried this place out with both my cars, each instant they failed inspection, 1 for led light instead of yellow and the other for wipers since I chose not to buy them there. I went to the Vienna shell with a $12 off coupon and they passed both vehicles stating there is no issue with the wipers and the led lights are not a safety issue since they work. Never go to these thieves!!!
Had a great experience with the VA Tire and Auto service center. Had multiple repairs needed for my car, never felt pressured into getting something done that wasnt necessary at the time. They were very efficient and quick with my repairs, very upfront and easy to get in touch with to answer any questions.Very professional and great customer service. Will definitely go back for any car issues I have in the future!
Best customer service. Good price. Quality work. And, they dont try to sell you stuff that you dont need. I am return customer because of their integrity. Jasper will treat you like family.
The guys at Main Street Shell are top notch. They make routine or complex service visits easy. They offer quality repairs at reasonable prices. They are always focused on the customer. We use Main Street Shell to take care of multiple vehicles for work and home and know we are in good hands.
BEST place for honest car service. Family owned for over 30 years. Took our car their for a service that was not required and they checked it out for free!
This is my favorite place to get my car inspected. They have a nice, clean sitting area inside where you can purchase snacks. The bathroom in the area is always clean as well. The staff members are courteous however, Im currently here listening to two employees argue. This is pretty unprofessional. If a disciplinary conversation about time and attendance is required, that should happen when customers are not around or in a private space. Other than that, I will always stop by for my inspections.
Just wanted to say a big thank you to Jasper for helping us out!We had the engine management light come on in my daughter in laws car and after visiting a garage prior to this who wanted to charge $145.00 just to plug in the computer to her car to tell her what the problem is, even though she had spent $800 before, so we decided to go to Virginia Tire and Auto affiliated with main street shell who had also done repairs for her in the past. After speaking to Jasper and being a previous customer he helped us out for free!Thats what I call service!!!
I wouldnt go anywhere else! Every workman and manager are so polite and knowledgeable. The manager when I was there (around 5:00 pm on Friday 1/24) even put gas in my car because it was so cold outside and Im 82. Keep doing what youre doing and thanks!
Not only are the service staff very knowledgeable and affordable but theyre willing to work with you. This place has been a staple for my family in this area for the past 12 years. The shop even fix the problem that the Toyota dealership couldnt take care of.... WOW. Thank you Jeff Ryan and Dave
This is my go-to car inspection place since they have a convenient inspection lane system (makes it easy to see how many people are in front of you) and theyre open til 8pm on weekdays so I can get it done after work. I went yesterday for my routine VA State Inspection and got a call saying my car didnt pass because my tag lights were both out. Jeff said replacing them (parts and labor) would be about $25.I have to say I was skeptical. What are the chances both went out since my last inspection? Did they really need replacing or was this a chance to rip me off? I was on a time crunch to get this done because I needed my car legal to drive ASAP. I said go ahead. I went to pick it up and Jeff updated me to say they tried new bulbs, but they didnt work. They put the old ones back and offered $119 to look into the actual issue. I said no thanks, just give me the rejection sticker and Ill look into it myself.Steven, one of the mechanics, then stuck his head around the corner and asked to try one more thing and he wont charge me for it. He discovered a wire that had been severed, resulting in the lights not working. He patched the wire up, my car was reinspected, and I was on my way within the hour. I cant thank Steven enough for going above and beyond when he sensed the issue wasnt actually a big deal. Thats a type of honesty, integrity, and helpfulness you dont often see in gas station mechanics. Jeff was also easy to work with and communicative about the status of my car. Thanks to Virginia Tire & Auto for saving the day!EDIT: They also have one of the best free air stations in the city. You can put in the recommended PSI for your tires and itll automatically cut off when you hit it.
Having oil change, safety check, emission check, and most of my car-related things done here. Haven’t found any reason to visit other places yet.
This place is the best. If Main Street Shell cant fix your car, it cant be fixed. I take 3 cars there of varying ages. Most impressively, theyve kept my 20 year old car running good with repairs over the years. Ive had some pretty complicated things done, and the work is always done right. They may not be the rock bottom cheapest -- but you get what you pay for!!!
My son needed an inspection while attending GMU. This place is right around the corner from him and we were very pleased with their customer service. Very friendly and helpful on the phone all the way through picking up the vehicle. Gave my son a ride to school. We had to do some repairs, always pricey, but felt they were fair and reasonable. Wish this place was closer to our home.
This place is always honest with me. They will never try to cheat you and will always explain what needs to be done. Great customer service too!
Brought in my car with a nail in the front-left tire. Two mechanics looked at it and said the entire wheel had to be changed out. They said I was looking at about $200. Even though I hardly know anything about cars, there seemed something off in the way they spoke. So I brought the car over to another mechanic on Lee Highway (Nutley Street Service Center). The boss came out, took a quick look, took out the nail, and patched the tire all for $20.
Super nice guys! I had a burned out bulb on my car. When I took it in for inspection, they swapped it in (it only took 30 seconds todo) :) Definitely a nice place to get your work done. Also, inspection hours are A+ :)
I had a mixed experience (My car was having quite a few issues at the time, repairs ended up being more expensive than expected) but the mechanics here are fundamentally honest and do good work. Repairs are a little expensive, but its Northern Virginia- you are going to pay more for everything here, and that includes your mechanics time.
Went to get an oil change and some things looked at on my car. The people who worked on my car do not pay attention. It was nice of them to put a reminder sticker on my car for my next oil change but it would have been nice if they would have used the correct info. Instead of using my mileage on my car, they used my Trip miles. Then they do the inspection of everything, if they are not going to do it correctly then they shouldnt do it at all. About a year ago I was told I needed my cabin filter changed and it was shown to me. I said I would do it myself (which I have not), well Shell marked on their sheet the green circle that it was checked and OK. So they obviously didnt look at it. I have a broken wiper that if it was picked up would fall right off, yet again it was marked checked and OK. If the Vehicle Condition Report is not going to be done correctly then whats the point of doing it?
If i could give 0 stars i would. I go in for an emissions test and oil change and the guy says it will be about an hour. No problem. 2 hours later i go to pay and they only did the emissions test. I said i asked for an oil change as well. He looks dumb founded and says oh.. not even an hey let me get you right in or anything. Worst service ever. I will never be returning there again.
Great staff - knowledgeable and friendly. Wait time is always very reasonable. A pleasure doing business with you! Thanks.
The mechanics are friendly and charge a fair price. They also have free air!
Came in Aug 14 2018 for safety and emission inspection. Failed at the safety one because my right side headlight is dimmer than it should be. They called me next day morning saying I’ll need to replace the whole headlight assembly and it’s going to cost me 450. I drove to another place asking for an estimate and they said it’s unnecessary to replace the whole thing and helped install two side lights for $40 and passed the safety inspection. Will not come back again. Also they told me the wait is about 1.5hr but turned out to be about 3.
On my way to work yesterday morning I started to hear a clunk around my front right tire. I suspected a damaged CV joint. I drove straight to Main Street Shell, explained the problem. I had to run to the bank that morning, so one of the guys drove me to the bank while a mechanic road tested my car. By the time we got back from the bank, the mechanic had already discovered it was not a CV joint but a screw lodged in my tire. They fixed it in 15 minutes and I was back on my way to work. These are just the best mechanics and people to deal with.
Customer beware! I brought car (good running condition and no specific issue) in only for routine oil and filter change. After service was done and car ready for pick up, manager informed me that clutch was not working properly. There was no clutch problem when car was brought in, and then after service was performed, the clutch started sounding and acting weird. The car is practically undrivable after taking it home from the main street shell shop. BTW, I was told to bring the car back if the clutch continued to be a problem. Of course, the main street shell shop must have done something on the clutch to get me to bring the car back for repairs. Unethical business practice and should be reported.
I have been bringing my vehicles here for over 10 years. They have always listened to my concerns, dealt with me in a great manner and their work is great!
Outstanding service, and one of the few remaining service stations that offers free air.
Super nice guys, got my inspection done there. I had a bulb burned out and they swapped in a new one at no charge. :)
Fast, honest, reasonable pricing. Highest recommendation.
The Main Street Shell team is always a pleasure to deal with and they do great work the first time.
Quick, easy, and courteous. I came in for a state inspection and an oil change, got what I wanted within the hour, and was on my way.
Everyone was very friendly and professional. Im always wary of going to shops alone as a female because I feel they tend to try to take advantage of my lack of knowledge, but they were absolutely wonderful! They were patient, listened to and answered all my questions. They did everything they could to keep the cost of my repairs low. They shuttled me around and even have a loaner car available. They were able to get my emissions to pass without much hassle for a lot less than other mechanics had quoted me. I will definitely return here for all my future repairs and have recommended them to my friends and family as well! Thank you!
It was my first time to use this station for car inspection. Nice service deserve five stars.
The Main Street Shell is great. They are always very helpful.
Very friendly guys. Took time to explain everything to me, a new out of towner who didnt know how all of this inspection stuff works. My only complaint is how much they charged in labor costs to put on some new windshield wipers. I swear they charged me double what the wipers cost to put them on.
Took my car in for an inspection. They told me I needed a bunch of repairs to pass. I went to my own personal garage afterwards and my guy told me I didnt need any of the repairs done and that everything is fine. Avoid.
They literally spend 2 minutes actually inspecting your vehicle, then the next 25 minutes typing into a computer, sticking the safety tag to your windshield, and printing you a receipt. Never expect to be out of there within 10 minutes even if youre the only customer.
I went in to get an oil change. Sat with my car parked for several minutes and then went inside store to be cut off and told to come back at 7:00AM with a rude tone. Glad to see lack of customer service before I gave money. Will not be coming back.
I dont like the layout of the snack aisle. Coffee is instant.
Was told I needed windshield wipers replaced during inspection.I asked them how much and they responded with $15.When it came to pay for everything the windshield wipers ended up being $32Come here if you want surprises on your auto bill, enough said.
Excellent service!
I finally found an auto shop I can trust!
There is a phenomenon of arbitrary charges, do not come here, the manager is too bad, the work is not serious!
Free air machines as well
Do not go to this place for inspection!! Be aware stay AWAY!!!!!!!!! DO NOT I repeat DO NOT..
