Have always used car x, been faithful customers for as long as weve been driving. Had to take our car to Tire Discounters this week because it broke down by my husbands work and he dropped it off there because it was walking distance. TD quoted us around 2000 to fix 2 things, the more critical part being around 1100. So we called car x because we trusted them for a second opinion, I made the unfortunate mistake of telling them the price that TD quoted. However I was smart enough to catch my mistake and leave out the fact that the price quoted was for 2 issues, to make sure they were honest with us. Car x then looked at it and said to my husband itll be 1700 (JUST for the critical part that I mentioned) my husband said wow.. thats more than we expected. The guy answered your wife said you guys were quoted 2000 somewhere else. Found it very interesting that they even remembered me briefly mentioning that.. and that they wanted to charge us 600 more than the 1100 TD quoted us.. because they thought they were saving us money? All sorts of red flags there. Will never go back. Then after all that they even charged us 80 for a diagnostic test. They care a lot more about money than their customers thats obvious. TD didnt even charge us for a diagnostic when we took our car from them for a second opinion and openly told them that even. Theyre definitely more honest and trustworthy. Im sure Car X realized we were not coming back after they tried to squeeze so much more money out of us and just wanted a few last bucks. That 80 dollar diagnostic on top of what was just the cherry on top and what made me come on here to write a detailed review.
Went in today for a 1pm appointment sat there for 45 minutes and they still didnt have my car on a lift. Just needed oil change should have been in and out I had to leave for work so I have to reschedule somewhere else. Last time I went they didnt accept my coupon. And said it was a misprint... the time before that went there to put tires on and they tightened them so tight I had to have them broke off. Good thing I didnt get a flat on the road or Id have never gotten them loose. Bent my tire iron and everything.

Had an 8 AM appt for an oil change. I got there a little earlier around 740. I drove off the lot at 802. That’s Top tier service! Manager was knowledgeable on my vehicle and also let me know of the fuel injector service deal which was relevant to my vehicle. I will be returning to this location more often for my car maintenance services.

I went there to fix a noise from the brakes. They couldnt find anything but charged me $38. I still have the noise. The manager Steve called about the review and set an appointment for the next morning. I got there and he did not even show. Employee said he took the day off. Just another example of the service quality at Car-X. The employees looked at it, without even removing a wheel and stated they could not find anything. Offered to sell me a $130 upgrade but couldnt assure it would solve problem. A joke, right? Buyer beware!!!

I went to get a basic oil change and nothing else. After leaving and going to the grocery store car wouldn’t start back up. Just got a new battery and brakes a week ago from my mechanic. Called and made an appointment and they expressed it would take about 45min. I get there drop off my car at the scheduled time and then told it’ll take about an hour an fifteen min. Two hours later I come back and my car wasn’t even looked at. A follow up on the delay would of been nice, but no communication at all or updates on what was going on is poor customer service. Wasted my time when I could’ve taken it somewhere else for it to actually be worked on.

I have a 2007 Chevy Impala I have got front and back brakes due there also a wheel Alignment a set of 4 tires and I must say the quality of work and price was amazing.. Last time I went there they did all my brakes and stuff for $800 just for them to stop working a week later. They tried to charge me $50 when I took it back there for them to fix it since they messed it up. So then I took it to another shop and they said that they didn’t put the brake pads on. Tore my rotors up. I bought another car and called yesterday ( which I shouldn’t have) and after being on hold for almost an hour they tell me that to replace just my brake pads it’ll be $200. No way in hell would I pay that much. My dog can do a better job than them. Steve is disrespectful and I’m never coming here again. Would rate zero stars but they don’t want it to be an option 🤷♂️
EVERYONE WAS GREAT, THEY WORKED WITH ME ON THE COST. CALLED AND UPDATED ME EVERYDAY. THE MANAGER WAS VERY NICE AND VERY HELPFUL.
Went to have headlights/lense and tail light lenses installed which I was overcharged for, but thats not the main complaint. They call me 2 hours later informing me that my blinker and parking lights werent working and it could possibly be an electrical issue before offering to Diagnose it for $94. I tell them that I know for a fact they were fully functional before I dropped it off. They then put me on hold, came back to tell me that theyll diagnose it for free and call back. Get a call an hour later letting me know my car is good to go. I pick it up and of course my blinkers are operational with no issues. They tried to get over on me after already overcharging me for labor. One of the tail light covers they installed were slightly chipped too. These people are dishonest and will try to get over on you any chance they get. Im still in shock at how blatant they were about it. Buyer beware.
Really good customer service. The manager Steve was very professional with me when I thought they messed up my car. He brought my car back and did a thorough check and found the real issue which was not the fault of Car X. I greatly appreciated his integrity and as a result will continue doing business with the Fairfield location.

I began having issues with my Kia Sorentos transmission slipping as I tried to accelerate. I took it into Car X on Dixie Highway and the staff, especially the Store Manager, were extremely knowledgeable. I can tell that I wasnt just another customer. They truly cared about me, my cars issue, and finding a resolution to get me safely back on the road. This was my first time going to Car X, and was recommended by my mom and Grandpa. I will definitely be back and will be recommending my friends and family! What a great experience this was! They truly helped me out when I was expecting to have to jump through a bunch of hoops to try to get my car fixed. I cant thank the staff there enough.
Horrible experience, paid them to balance my tires but my car shakes more than when I took it to them, they marked everything good on my inspection when I know its not, they put that I needed my next oil change at 164000 miles but I have 175000 miles on my car. I called corporate with no response. My experience was the worst.

Took my car in to get fixed back in the fall, first they charged me for but never actually did an alignment. Tried to get it done following the repair but they kept pushing it off and saying they couldn’t get it done because the camera on the machine didn’t work, and it still hasn’t been done. Now I go to replace a tire, and find out they never replaced my locking lugnut key. So I’m not only out the $100 for the alignment, but also have to pay to get the locking lugnuts cut off.

I had to get new brake pads and front rotors put in a few weeks ago at Car-X and, one week after having this work done, I had a rear brake pad fall out, ruining one of my back rotors. This was on a Sunday (Mothers Day) so Car-X wasnt open and I needed to have a different dealership fix the problem immediately.The following day, I went to Car-X to ask the manager to reimburse me for the rework. While I understand mistakes happen, there was no sympathy from the manager for the fact that I had to spend my Mothers Day at an auto shop due to the fact that one of his employees made a mistake. I did get reimbursed by Car-X, which is why this rating is a 2 instead of 1 star. I probably wouldnt have written a review if the manager had simply apologized and shown some empathy.
The worst car-x in the state of ohio con artists they try to rip u off over charge you and dont give or tell u what is what when you purchase something Steve is the worst manager I have ever came in contact with but thats ok I will be calling Greg back and if he dont return my call call I have a trick for them like Steve the manager said everybody has a Lawyer but the funny thing is I do my Brother is a Lawyer in the state of ohio dont want to give them 1 star

I ordered Tires from tire rack and had them shipped here. The tires and install are fine as I can see, but my wheels are not. I have a Plasti Dip Coating on my wheels that is now torn in multiple places. I will have to peel off the coating and start the process over. They suggested that it is just the machine and they have no control over it. They could have put a towel or something over to protect them. I spent 80 dollars for them to screw up my custom job that took me about two weeks to complete.Dont take your car here. They were careless and rushed to complete the job. I have taken my car to other shops and they havent damaged my wheels in the slightest.I talked to the manager and he was supposed to talk to a higher manager who was suppose to call me about the incident yesterday. I have not heard from anyone yet and it just seems like they dont care.
STEVE THE MANAGER is horrible and he likes to create parts instead of taking the time to order what’s needed and put on vehicles. Don’t trust anything he says he’s a big liar when it comes to what your car needs

I had been going to this place for about a year. My wife had bought a 06 Chevy trailblazer and we took it in for the first oil change. Well they left the cap off so the oil went all over the car. They promised they de-greased the engine and offered to re add the oil. Well low and behold not 3 days later we start having rough idle issues and stalling when coming to stops. I did the research myself and told them it sounds like there is still oil causing issues with the car they offered no help. So after doing the work myself. Replacing crank shaft sensors, cam shaft sensors and vvt valve. The issue was the oil had gotten into the throttle body causing the rough idle and stall. I told the shop this and they told me there is no way the oil could have gotten into the trottle body which is just plain wrong also found it by the sparkk plugs which they also told me is impossible. And the final thing which is why i will no longer go to another place for an oil change that car takes 7 quarts of oil and after they refilled it after their mistake left it 3 quarts low. Change your oil yourself before trusting these people.
They dont honor your appointments. I made an appointment for 3:45 on a Friday, got held up at work and sat through an accident delaying me another 5 minutes. Called them to say I would still be coming in but I was delayed. Got there exactly 30 minutes after my appointment and they gave my spot to someone else. The least they could have done was tell me they couldnt hold my spot and asked if I wanted to come in and wait or reschedule.
Crooked as all get out. Tried to overcharge me on an oil change claimed it took 6 quarts in a car that maximum capacity is 5.
Do not take your vehicle to Car X.. They overtighten my lug nuts and broke them. I drove with broken lug nuts for two months. Which is extremely dangerous. I found out they were broken from a certified mechanic replacing my brake pads. I tried to get reimbursed for the cost to have them fixed but they keep giving me a run around, telling me the area supervisor Greg would call me. I have been waiting 2 months to hear something. The manager is never there....always on vacation or off.... Maybe they should have a manager there to supervisor the young kid who broke my lug nuts . I will never go back for anything. Terrible customer service.

Please do not visit this place, if you seem like a person who doesnt know cars at all. Disgustingly dishonest people. The person tried to charge me $900 for something that another place charged me only $300 to fix. it was my back brakes which they were grinding. He pulled out an estimate that totaled 895 saying that all is computer generated thats why the price is so high, to have me agree to fix it right away he told me that he would give me a $100 discount with lifetime warranty. I said i needed to think about it then he started rambling over and over about how it works and what parts i need to purchase to be replaced. Even when i said i wanted to leave then he pulled me over to my car in the shop to show me how bad it was. i pretended to agree and i drove back home. Went to Jeff Pohlman, the place that i will always go from now on.
Steve and Christian were very honest and only did the service that was needed, saving me about $250 . The guys at Fairfield were great!! I will only go to them from now on, and will tell my family and friends.

I needed new front brakes. They didnt push me for other things.Two weeks later my brakes started squeeking and I have tried since then to get in. Ive stopped twice personally and told they couldnt get me in. Due to my schedule it is now its 2 months later, Im still squeeking and I have an appointment scheduled for today. I know they are busy and so am I but just to check my breaks shouldnt have taken 2 months to get in.
Had oil changed. Ended up needing break fluid flushed and they gave us a discount. Way to get repeat customers!
