Although from a quality parts supplier, the first replacement power steering pump failed to generate sufficient pressure at low RPMs (it was out of spec). I was driving with my son to Massachusetts when one of our tires suddenly deflated. I discovered this establishment by chance when I pulled off of I-95 in search of a service station. After becoming increasingly dissatisfied with dealership errors and really high service charges, I took my car to Fairfield Automotive Service. This shop was recommended by one of my neighbors. I brought my car to Fairfield Automotive Service for a second opinion. The dealership wanted an astronomical fee for a soldering repair job on the exhaust system. Fairfield Automotive did the repair work for a fair and reasonable charge. In addition, the mechanic took a video of the exhaust system so that I could fully understand what needed to be done. More recently I feared that I could be facing a major repair because the engine was shaking when the AC was on and the car was idling. David explained to me that nothing more than a resetting of the dashboard controls was needed. When I mentioned that the brake peddle seemed to go down a bit more than before he gave the car a test drive, then put my car up on the lift. He checked the brakes and told me that they were fine, but noted that the brake fluid was down a bit and added a little more brake fluid.David even adjusted the drivers seat so that I could drive more comfortably. He did not want to charge me for his time and effort which behooves me to write well deserved Kudos for him. I have found the customer service and mechanical ability at Fairfield Automotive Service to be excellent. This senior citizen feels safer driving my much loved 2004 sedan because Fairfield Automotive Service has taken good care of it.

These guys are the best. I came in with a lemon I had just purchased from another dealer and they told me not to put a cent into repairs. After I got a refund, they sold me a better car for significantly less than my previous one. When I had a slight issue, they inspected the car and made repairs with new parts at no charge. I took my Hyundai Tucson to Fairfield Automotive Service for a 2nd opinion, AND Im glad I did! The service department at Hyundai said that i had a leaking engine oil pan that needed to be resealed, and that I need to change the front strut mount because of leakage, that my cooling system needed to be serviced, and my cabin filter should be changed.... Total cost $1,600 plus tax. Well, the guys at Fairfield Automotive Service checked my car to see what really needed to be done. NOTHING! There was no leakage anywhere! There was nothing wrong with my car. I cant speak highly enough about Fairfield Automotive Service. They are honest, competent people that treat you with respect, and dont try to steal your money. If I could give more stars I WOULD! John and Dave went above and beyond recently when my brake light went on. They fixed the issue, which they discovered was covered under a warranty (I would have never known this), then noticing I was down 2 quarts of oil, John replaced it, all without charging me. I am a out of town contractor.My vehicles radiator hose decided to blow out today on the way to picking up supplies. The good news is that it broke in front of Fairfield Automotive. I have never stopped there prior and was a stranger to them. Upon my arrival I noticed all the mechanic bays where full of cars and all the mechanics where busy. I asked them if they might be able to assist me in anyway. Stopped in Fairfield, CT briefly while traveling on the East Coast and noticed scraping with my cars brakes. We went to Fairfield Automotive Service and had an incredible customer service experience with John, Johns son, and Germain. They were extremely friendly, helpful and communicative, explaining everything that was wrong with the car, along with what they could do to fix it. They stayed open an extra hour late in order to help us with the car despite it being a holiday weekend. They made additional phone calls to find parts, and managed to fix the car in under two hours. All in all, a wonderful experience even though we needed to replace the brakes. Charged fair and reasonable prices and gave us an exact estimate of when the car would be ready. Terrific guys. I was driving to Fairfield from Boston for a meeting when my engine light came on. Uh oh - the guide said it could be minor, or it could be stop driving now!. So one of the people that I would be meeting with suggested that I take my car to Fairfield Automotive. They hooked it up to the machine, found that it was just a loose gas cap (it didnt look loose), they fixed it -- no charge. Thanks, guys!

I just bought my car because of a break issue that I had for the first time. They looked everywhere, drove the car around and didn’t find anything. We have been customers at Fairfield Automotive for 15+ years. They are the most honest and fair people in the business. Just yesterday, my battery died. I had AAA come out and check it out. They said I needed a new alternator. I brought the car to Fairfield Automotive, mentioning what AAA said. They said leave it with them and theyd check it out. It turned out to be a very minor problem with the battery connection. A shady mechanic would have charged me for a new alternator, since thats what I thought it was. Instead, they fix just the battery connection and I had the car back within the hour. Excellent service, totally honest, and always fair with their pricing. What more can you ask for. Went to Fairfield automotive services two days ago . I came in not knowing what was wrong with my car after visiting firestone . Firestone did front end work, rotations, alignments, claiming that my car needed knew brake pads and tires to solve the problem. My Tire Pressure light went off, so I drove into Fairfield Automotive to see if they could help. John and David came over right away to lend a hand. They checked my tire pressure in each tire and found the problem tire. Upon further investigation, they found that tire had a nail in it. They were able to remove and patch my tire within minutes. The guys at Fairfield automotive are great people and true professionals with a vast knowledge about cars. I brought in my 2014 Mazda 3, they saw me immediately and fixed my problem within 5-10 minutes, explaining everything to me in detail as well as offering valuable advice about the maintenence of my car. They were really honest guys who charged me a very low price. I highly recommend this shop.

Weve been going to Fairfield Automotive for 30 years. They are attentive, fair, honest and caring. We have purchased cars from them, sold cars through them and take our cars there for servicing. They do excellent work, take pride in what theyve done and stand behind it. We have found John, Dave and all of the staff to be a top-notch crew.

Had an emergency issue today. As always, Dave and John had me right in and took care of it immediately. Have been doing business there for probably close to 30 years and I am proud to call them my friends. It doesnt get any more small town that!!!! I trust them explicitly and today John stood by the part that should not have had to be replaced yet. It doesnt get better than that.

Friendly reliable service. Im not from the area and I brought my truck here to get my temperature gauge fixed before a drive back to the west. These guys went above and beyond to help me out. Very good people. I dropped my car off for them to take a look at it because my engine was making high-pitched whining noises. It turns out there were no issues, but they inspected it for free, and one of their technicians eddie, also a very friendly guy, drove me to and from my house. They said if any issues ever come up feel free to drop it off again and they will take a look at it for me. I will definitely come back if my car needs fixing!!

I went to a gas station mechanic and pepboys to fix an issue that was preventing me from passing emissions. Both failed. I was referred to Fairfield automotive and am now a client for life. Extra credit for getting my car washed! Really an excellent surprise.

Above and beyond doesn’t even begin to cover these guys. The amount of detail they put into making sure everything we needed was taken care of was astounding, while making sure they did not do anything that we didn’t really need, which in the end saved us a ton of money. They were kind, courteous, prompt, and incredibly thorough. I cannot believe i have taken my car anywhere else.
