RECOMMEND!Short history: My wife’s parents are both deceased and her brother now owns the house they grew up in. They were cleaning out the attic and basement and found a large coin collection, both foreign and domestic. They didn’t want to keep it and my wife’s dad would be the first one to tell us to get what we could for it.So I found Robert via Google and made an appointment. Came in with my 3 year old as my wife was busy and couldn’t watch him. Robert was very open to him being there and offered us both a bottle of water.We made pleasant small talk throughout Robert’s evaluation of my collection. Immediately he recognized everything for what it was: a collection for novelty, not value. We knew that going in. Still he took the time to look through everything to see if there were any gems. There were a few individual pieces that had significant value, but 98% of it was common. He was very honest and anything he wasn’t sure if he researched.In the end we negotiated a very fair price and he paid me on the spot. If I come across more coins at my wife’s brothers house I’ll definitely go back to him.

I’ve known of Robert and RSR for years through his print ads. I happened to be driving in Fairfield and noticed his sign on Black Rock Tpke. Couldn’t have been more timely. We had recently found a bunch of silver coins in with family belongings. He explained what was collectible and what was only worth face value. The result of sorting was a handful of silver coins that Robert purchased for a very fair price. His knowledge and patient assistance was awesome. I will not hesitate to contact him again if we find anything else !

Decided to sell inherited coins. Called five CT dealers at random, telling each about the contents of one specific group of pennies. Two barely gave me the time of day (just spend them) and two quoted low prices. Robert spoke with me for 10 to 20 minutes, mentioned some potential values, and invited me to bring everything in. I had a great experience when coming to Robert S. Riemer RSR Collectibles. The shop was a little hard to find, due to it being on a lower level of the Shopping Plaza. So you can barely see the sign if you’re just driving by.
