I search a few places to see where I can get the best price for new breaks. One would often associate higher price = better quality and service, but not in this case. Not only does American lube provide the best prices in the area, but their service is excellent! Just by observing, you can see that each of their employees are hard working. Also, the owner is very friendly! They go the extra mile to establish long lasting relationships. I didn’t feel like a customer but a guest at this place. I will be sure to come again!

David provides substantial employment and training opportunities for the local young men (and maybe women). The place is fully staffed and work quickly. David offered a good price to me!

Took my car in on a last minute appt and got the job done. However, my car is not a conventional car, and it never fails that attention to detail is missed in one form or another. The power steering reservoir needs to be removed in order to get to the top filter for replacement, and it wasnt put back. I knew it was going to happen so as soon as i got to my car, i popped the hood and sure enough, it was hanging instead of being placed back in its holding bracket. No biggie, but something to learn from. A well informed customer is a better customer, and will make the service provider aware. ;o) I work in healthcare and am here temporarily for work. If i were to miss a step in the process of patient care, it could have negative consequences. Double and triple check the work before closing the hood is all i ask. Otherwise, this place was busy and accommodating. Thank You

The owner and team go the extra mile to not only service customers vehicles, but also to connect with customers to create a long-term business relationship. Its more than just about the in-and-out service one gets from the plethora cookie cutter garages in the area. At American Lube, youll find a shop you can count on time and time again.

This place was great! My initial phone call - the owner answered and was courteous and informative; told me I could come in for an oil change and be seen within 15 min. On arrival I was greeted by Diesel, a super laid-back puppers, chillin in the sun coming through the front door. Theres indoor seating, but also a set-up outside with an overhead tent (presumably put in place for COVID social distancing). The man at the front desk was also very friendly and informative (and apparently we like similar music!). I came in for an oil change but also mentioned that my back seat was jammed - the owner came out and fixed it for me with some elbow grease, free of charge! Afterwards, the same front desk person went over with me what was done for my car, again very informative and helpful. Also affordable! I also really appreciated that they didnt pressure me for a bunch of extra purchases unlike some places I have been for oil changes. I will DEFINITELY recommend this place, what a great/pleasant experience!

Service is always professional. I just left not long ago. I called before going and the guy I spoke with assured me there was not a long wait. I was there less than 30 min. literally in and out. I wish I knew the guy name i spoke with on the phone and I dealt with... but I left my receipt in the car. All of the guys there extends exceptional service.

This place is fantastic. Great, honest mechanics. Quick service. A friendly owner who will often greet the customers. And a nice old dog who likes to hang out in the lobby!Just beware, this place is good enough that they may get a bit backed up. So you may end up having to wait a little while for your service, if its a busy day.

If you are on a tight budget and have more time available than money, it might be worth it to drive farther of deal with the inconvenience. When picking two out of good, cheap or fast, this place seems to offer good and fast but not cheap. Of course everything in NOVA is crazy expensive compared to the rest of the world.

I have an assigned mechanic. As I do not have an assigned barber, banker or dog groomer. These guys are pros they talk to the customer to the level of detail that makes them feel comfortable. Quality that is on the same level of dealerships at discount prices.

Friendly, honest, quality response time, excellent customer service with continued follow up during your service visit, great work, and lots of good, old fashion courtesy is what you will find here! Unicorn. A oil change and minor repair shop you can trust. It was my first time there and even the waiting experience was awesome. People in the waiting room sing their praises. The crew is very personable. They even set my sticker to the actual factory recommendation rather than the money-grab version of most places. They even offered up a beer to enjoy while I waited... I never thought taking your car in could be a pleasurable experience till I went here. I typically go to the big name shops because of the convenience of quick service, but this place got me in and out faster, at a better or equal price, with excellent customer service. Not going anywhere else.

Not just for Lubes! This place is a full service garage, under new ownership. I brought my truck in for a small repair. Wow, this place is clean and well organized. The staff was friendly and were easily able to fix my truck. The price was very reasonable and much, much less than the dealer would ave charged. First time experience was not good.On Sunday 7/22/18.Ending up taking my talents to Jiffy Lube down Wilson Blvd where they applied discounts on my service which i didn’t ask for and was offered a free wash. I tipped them well for being very professional & this was among ‘all’ employees. I know they didn’t want to take me due to it being Sunday & almost time to go home because by the time I arrived after departing ALSC they were 16 minutes from closing. Granted I would not have gone anywhere if my vehicle didn’t sudden have a issue. I Time Manage well and seen no problem going for service after work which ended at 4:00pm. However Jiffy Lube didn’t have a sudden case of ‘system’ issues or seem annoyed that a customer arrived for service.(Updated)Granted American Lube didn’t service my vehicle that day.Owner D. Hays however reached out to me after, to attempted to resolve the mishap.For his professionalism, character, consideration, and determination.I strictly change and apply this review to you and hope to stop in another time for service through you or a veteran worker with a much better experience on a second go around.

I have taken my cars here for a few years now and have nothing but positive things to say. These guys know what they are doing, are great about explaining what services need to be done and why, and are honest and fair to their customers. This is one of the few automotive repair places I have been to where I never feel like I am being taken advantage of and the expertise and quality of work have, in my experience, been even better than the local dealerships.

I went in after an accident. They told me what I needed and also gave me a discount since I work in the area. Then called me and said they found the real issue and the cost is cheaper. They did the work and called me up. Best customer service. Other shops would have just said there is more and charged me more and not what the work was worth. The owner is sharp and on top of his game. I would most definitely recommend this to everyone. An actual HONEST shop. If you know shops, 70% are dishonest.

Worth the drive out to Falls Church. I had tried to get my oil changed and car serviced at a string of other places in DC the previous weekend with no luck. Came here and was in and out in no time. Priced reasonably, have seen no problems with the car since then. I absolutely will be back.

My husband has been coming here for years as he lived nearby, and even though we now live in DC, we still drive out here for our oil changes! Theyre reasonably priced, and honest. Theyll tell you if something else is wrong with your car but arent trying to upsell you! Definitely 5 stars!

Have been coming here since I was a kid when my dad would take his car in to get serviced. Theyre quick, upfront and knowledgeable. They do minor tire repairs but unfortunately dont do replacements.

Like some other reviewers, I have had an excellent experience at American Lube over the past 5 years or so since I first decided to try it out. I too have taken my car there after being in other shops that told me I needed this and needed that, only to be assured by Am Lube that I did not need those things. I have also gone there when experiencing a problem to find out I did need some work done that was a little beyond my budget, and Carlos has always worked with me in these situations to prioritize what I should get taken care of first, second and third--has let me know what is urgent and what can wait. This is a highly valuable service to people who have to stretch their income and who drive a 13-year-old car that they cant afford to replace. I have been consistently pleased at the detail of their explanations about whats wrong and their patience when dealing with someone who doesnt know much about cars or how they work or whats related to what. Ive found everybody who works there to be very considerate--offering to make more coffee, bringing out a chair for me to sit on, volunteering to drive me home if the car needs to stay in the shop longer than anticipated. Im really going to miss Carlos, though, whom I just found out doesnt work there anymore, because I always felt my Buick was in the very best hands when he was looking after it; it was like he knew my Buick intimately and was determined to keep it running forever. Good luck, Carlos, wherever you are, and I hope the great service (and customer service) continues even without him. At least as long as Carlos was there, I felt this place was as honest as the day is long and I trusted them completely. Sure hope that doesnt change.

Took my VW in for service due to an unknown engine issue. Great diagnostic work by the technician who quickly located and repaired the problem. Very professional staff and comfortable waiting area. Highly recommend for car repairs in addition to oil changes.

Clean and organized facility with respectful team members. Went in for an oil change and they efficiently explained the options and proceeded, not trying to sell other services or products. The line backed up almost immediately and the team seemed a little under staffed (Sunday morning) so arrive early and expect a wait, but your time will be well worth it.

They were of great help at a time of need. I had a torn tire, because of a pothole, and they helped change it very quickly, so I could get to my granddaughters birthday party. Excellent service, very kind and helpful. Thanks

A business that stands behind their work! Honesty and integrity are a rarity these days, especially in business. Too often customer service is just a term thrown around and rarely followed through with. The previous owner of my vehicle had a clutch replacement done by American Lube about a year before I bought the vehicle. A few weeks after I bought it, I noticed clutch noise and took it in to the dealer for repair. They discovered that the clutch had been installed incorrectly and had to be replaced in its entirety due to resulting damage which cost me a substantial amount. I sent a letter to the owner of American Lube with detailed documentation and without even a protest he refunded the cost of the original repair as a credit. Cannot say enough how refreshing it is to know a business shares my values and takes ownership of their mistakes. This is a business you can trust with your car repair needs!

A oil change that should have taken 20 minutes took 2 hours of my day. I came expecting a quick oil change but I had to cancel other plans because of the delay. Unusual from the American Lube team

First time coming here and I had a great experience. The owner of the shop introduced himself, asked if Id like a coffee or water. He was very friendly and DID NOT come off as the classic upseller autoshop owner. Id come back again.

American Lube is very convenient to my work place, I appreciate that the mechanics are friendly and quick also love that they vacuum my car. American Lube is priced very reasonable and the waiting area is clean, with a TV, Wifi, vending machine and free coffee. I will be back!

Took a Jeep Cherokee in for a routine oil change/checkup, that seemed to go over well enough. Forward couple weeks later- the coolant exploded out onto the side of my jeep on 495.The technicians did not sufficiently tighten the coolant cap. Luckily I noticed the issue when it stopped blowing hot air and filled it with tap water at the earliest opportunity. Judging by these peoples gross incompetence I would be careful and WATCH what theyre doing. As far as I know they may have put in too little oil or something else silly..

The professionals here have done a fine job over the years. Today, after successfully repairing my leaky window washer container, they noticed one of my break lights was out. They removed it casing and showed my the burned socket. They always go out of their way to let me know about issues but they are not pushy as far as getting it fixed immediately. Last fall they got my stuck gas door open and then identified exactly what was causing the problem. I have been recommending American to my friends.
