Humor me for a second: is there ever a place, whether restaurant, store or whatever that you don’t want to like, and it’s not really for any good reason other than because it’s really popular and “mainstream”? Anyone follow? Well, that was Silver Lining Creamery for me. But the more I’ve visited the more I’ve come to begrudgingly really enjoy it. It grew on me.Silver Lining is just too adorable and uplifting. It’s such a dainty ice cream shop and you can feel it’s sincerity in the setup and workers. What I love even better is that it’s locally owned and run- there’s only 2 locations: this one in Fargo, and one in Rapid City, SD. Dakota owned, as it says in the shop. And coincidentally, I was born in Rapid and graduated high school in Fargo, so both those cities are very important to my upbringing and have a special place in my heart, and that only increased my appreciation for Silver Lining too.And, their ice cream is actually good! The Oreo Lovers is an accidental discovery that’s fantastic- this is how all cookies and cream ice creams should taste, wowza! Even their sorbet is pretty darn tasty and tart. They switch up the flavors each day to keep it interesting too. Silver Lining has earned my respect!

My favorite ice cream stop in all of Fargo Moorhead. Delicious selections. Clean and spacious. Can enjoy your ice cream inside or outside with plenty of sitting areas near by. Overall great atmosphere and delicious ice cream every time. I honestly like all the flavors offered. A must try!

Seats about a dozen inside but plenty of seating outside w the downtown amphitheater nextdoor. Some fresh and adventurous flavors and a reasonable price, esp. if you order three scoops in a cup. Waffle cup and cone options are also available!

Visiting from out of town and managed to find this place only 5 minutes before close. While I’m sure everyone was ready to go home, staff was still amazingly polite and helpful and the ice cream was so tasty.

The sorbet was wonderful. I had a scoop of strawberry lemonade & blueberry pomegranate. They were both so good. Their sorbet is non dairy & doesnt have a coconut base which Im allergic to. The ladies were very sweet, and informative when I asked questions. I really enjoyed my visit & will come back. Also super cute shop that doesnt scream corporate America.

First visit here was on Fathers Day when we drove up from MN to visit our son. The homemade salted caramel, cinnamon toast crunch, cheesecake and cookie dough ice creams were delicious! The shop is filled with the wonderful smell of homemade waffle cones, which were also scrumptious! This place is a real little gem, and well definitely be back when we come to Fargo again.

This place was great! I loved that they have a medley option to choose multiple flavors. I recommend the oreo and salted caramel!

Amazing ice cream parlor that has an incredibly friendly staff! Definitely a must have while just visiting Fargo or, if you live close by, when youre out and about on a hot day!

I tried this place twice now and maybe I just chose bad flavors or something because each time the ice cream flavor was nowhere close to the description.. I just had strawberry ice cream that tasted like cream cheese lol. Maybe my tongue is too used to processed ice cream. The consistency is good and the service is great though!

The line out the door makes sense now. The creative flavors are a great reason to stop by, and they offer a medley where you can get a very small scoop of 4 or 6 flavors so you can have a bit of several.

The Silver Lining Creamery is a wonderful craft made ice cream shop in historic Downtown Fargo, ND. They have a wide variety of flavors and add ins to make your sundae or come extra special. They also have varieties in the freezer if its not on the line. The prices are good for what you get, and I was pleasantly surprised with how much the serve you. This is a great stop when wandering around downtown. Also check out the photo OP just outside the front door, around the corner!

All ice creams were creamy, but flavors were not strong. Tried the Hot Mango (which did have a kick at the end, but lacked mango flavor), Rosewater, and Coffee Chip. Portions were generous!

I actually did not eat here. I only went for the mural on the side of the building. Youll have to look it up...or just stop and check it out. It was not a disappointment

This is the best ice cream we have ever had. My kids never finish their ice cream ever. Qe get a small and they eat half and I finish it (evidenced by my mom jeans) or we toss it. 18 years of throwing away ice cream until now. Everyone finished their ice cream and got more. It was that good. And we try a lot of ice cream. I got to sample 8 flavors and they were all great. We are going back so we can try the shakes. We got to see them make the ice cream too.

Found this place the summer of 2019. Finally going back in a week. Best treat ever. Nothing else is as satisfying anymore. A must stop when in the area.

Fathers Day visit to try it for the first time. Long line indicated popularity. Good sign. Servers were pleasant. Good sign. Flavors which I had (sage + hot mango) were creamy, but bland. Little hint of mango with a couple hits of spice. Sage was mellow almost to the point of nondescript. While not displeased I wasnt anxious to come back for more.

The atmosphere as soon as you walk in is very warm and welcoming. The smell when I walked in reminded me of the ice cream shops I remember growing up. The staff is ready to offer samples so that you can be happy with what you choose. They have a great selection, especially with some unusual flavors (like sage) which was very good. Highly recommended.

Loved the place! It was a perfect stop on a perfect weather day. I had a two scoop mix of the strawberry and cookies & cream. Both were amazing! My husband had a mix of the chocolate fudge brownie and salted carmel. He loved both as well. We even had to go back in and get an ice cream sandwich to bring home for later😊 We had friendly service, that was patient and explained everything to us since it was our first time in. Then we sat outside and enjoyed the ice cream. We will be back.

My favorite ice cream in town. Sorbet is delicious! I do wish there were more sorbet options but it’s delicious with the waffle cone.

I asked for 2 scoops I got 1. I was to afraid to ask for another one. But good ICECREAM at least.

It was great if I wasnt sure on a flavor I could take a sample to taste it to see if it was the taste I was looking for and if it was then it was scoop me up. And the staff that works there are the best they will help you and always smiling. I would definitely be coming back to the place for more ice cream 😁😋

Even on a rainy day, a stop for ice cream is always in order.

I walked several blocks in negative windchill temps to pick up one of their special holiday flavors. When I arrived at 8:30 pm, I found the door locked, but the full staff on-premises. They pointed to the hours on the door which showed the closing at 9pm, as did Google, along with their website. The staff could have served me or offered an explanation. They did neither.

Very good ice cream and sorbet. A walk in the door and the aroma of freshly made waffle cones. Heavenly! Great way to end our dining.

The ‘Medleys’ option is perfect! Four golf ball scoops of all different flavors of your choice. The flavors are made every Sunday so they are constantly changing. Very clean shop with a warm welcome that adds to the great experience! Benches outside to enjoy the downtown, I highly recommend!

3 stars off for the lack of eye contact and not even acknowledging my presence as a human being. My white boyfriend was attended to and addressed even though I was looking at the lady and waiting for her to address me. I definitely will not recommend or come back here.

I go to this place frequently. Their ice cream is my absolute favorite in town! However. I went to go there tonight and their store hours are wrong online. It says online they’re open until 10 but we got there and they close at 9. Sure would be nice if they could update their hours considering I have to drive downtown for it.

Great downtown ice cream shop! Fresh flavors made in the shop by hand. Tons of choices for toppings also. I had a waffle cone with cookies and cream ice cream. The waffle cone was made fresh just before. It was still slightly warm. I am so happy to see a ice cream shop downtown fargo.

Great place for homemade ice cream. Always changing flavors. Only fault is the spoons are weird, maybe plywood? So if you leave them in ice cream your gonna freeze they snap.

Went for the first time tonight. Flavors are good and different. First girl who greeted us was super nice and bubbly but the next girl who helped us and was our cashier was almost rude. She seemed like she hated that she was there and had to serve me. Customer service is a big thing to me since I’m in that business and that made me not want to tell my friends to go there, but maybe you’ll have a better experience than I did.

Ice cream is very good. Some classic flavors and some different. I wish they had more options and a smaller options for kids.

Been here a few times and thought it was fine. Ice cream is good but it’s like any other ice cream place I’ve been to. I will have to venture more into what they offer but the few times I went it it didn’t wow me.

This place is ultra original!!! The Dill Pickle, Rosewater, and Peach Mango were nothing like store brands I have had recently. This location used to be a drug store that my father, Michael Schumacher, would take me for ice cream back in 2002🍦🍧🍨 Every grey cloud has a silver lining as long as the light is shining!!!
