If you have never tried Mediterranean cuisine, this option is a must! You can taste a variety of savory flavors in one dining experience. My wife and I thoroughly enjoy the lunch buffet at least twice a month.I highly recommend eating here as the staff is also very attentive and welcoming throughout your visit!
If you want authentic middle eastern (or Eurasia) food then don’t come here. The food was incredibly bland and disgusting, it would have been nice if the salt shaker wasn’t clumped (due to it being old) to add to the food. Aside from that, everything was dirty. I’m talking table, silverware, cups, plates, bathroom, and every baby high chair we touched was sticky. We came because it was so highly rated but I have never been so disappointed. Don’t waste your money, time, or hygiene with this place.
Love the Greek Chicken Slovaki (or however you spell it) salad. People that work there are nice and friendly. Gyros are great as well and they are huge.
Drove to the Northside to visit Al Basha, as I was searching for a particular type of Greek cheese. We shopped in the grocery area, saw some yummy looking food that Id love to eventually try. I did buy some Halloumi cheese. We were going to leave but we decided to have lunch at the restaurant. We ordered the Spanakopita and two Gyro sandwiches. Both were very good but the gyros were delicious!! The meat, the sauce, the pita bread! Definitely enough meat for two sandwiches! I would absolutely visit again to try something else, or even for another Gyro! And the better half loved their pita bread - so much so, we went back to the store and he bought a package to take home! Service was great, people were friendly. If you like gyros, theyre a must try!!
Good attentive Friendly Service.Impeccably Clean.Great food. Overly Spiced, flavor is spice driven.World Class Falafel Sandwich!-Wet Juicy Tender Chicken Shawarma & Souvlaki. Chicken Shawarma Sandwich is smothered in a Garlic Sauce that tastes great. Its more like a wrap, and actually the best Garlic Chicken Wrap Ive had to date (better than the highly rated Byblos of Glendale California Garlic Chicken Sandwich).-Large Meaty Saucy Gyro, little veggies.-Great Homemade Hummus, not too garlicy, good Garbanzo flavor.-Good Tasty Sides & Rice.-Tasty Fries.-Fresh Homemade Pita was Tasteless.I would Recommend & I would bring friends and Family here.
I moved outof state a couple of years ago & knew I would miss Al Basha! There is no place like it in Seattle! I was able to visit last month & get the lunch buffet. Everything on the buffet is amazing. Baba Ganoush tasted as great as ever, the cauliflower...I dont even really like cauliflower but they transform it & it is so tasty! Gyro meat, the fish, the salad, lentil soup, were all great! I really love their coconut cake also! I really wanted some falafel also, so I ordered some off the menu (dont judge, I was hungry!). I literally ate everything. I think this restaurant is really a hidden jewel in Fishers. Try their lunch buffet, it is incredible!
Wish I could give 0 stars at this point. Have enjoyed this place in the past but done with them. Ordered GrubHub for them. Ordered stuffed grape leaves, Greek salad with gyro meat and a gyro. Did not receive stuffed grape leaves and was not informed that they were out of grape leaves. Got a Greek salad with no gyro meat. Called in they said they would void grape leaves on the order. They then informed there was nothing they could do for the gyro meat. Really? Ill probably have to go through the run around with Grub Hub to get money back. So much for ordering local and ever ordering from here again. Would be a different story if the person on the other side of the phone offered an actual solution.
The food was pretty plain. I would give it a three star or less, but I know every restaurant has to improve.
Very rude staff, if you are black or not talking their language they can uses bad words from their own country environment. Exaggeration in prices, bad service, no safety, not clean.
Great Mediterranean food! The chicken shawarma wrap is great. The hummus and pita is great as well. They do have a grocery story inside the restaurant, which is very convenient if you need to grab something quick. Definitely would visit again.
This was out first visit and well be back soon!Great Google find! The food was top notch but the service is what blew us away! Our daughter, whos 7, decided to try something out of her comfort zone. When our server saw she wasnt really enjoying her meal, he brought her out something new with out even asking. He made sure everyone left there happy and full. We couldnt have found a better place to stop for dinner!Make sure to try the combo appetizer!
I love Al Basha and keep coming back. The lunch buffet is always fun (unsure if it is still happening with covid). I love the fresh pita and I always get some kafta (meatloaf). My mouth is watering thinking about it. Dont forget to check out the store side. You can buy the pita bread and you should or you can find lots of spices, dishware, and everything you need hookah wise. I bought my ibrik (turkish coffee maker) and the turkish coffee I make at home there.
My girlfriend and I just came in here after a very stressful day. Our server Gaston was great and the food was delicious. I ordered the spicy chicken ragin with fries. The food came out very hot and fresh. The sandwich was packed very full of ingredients making it very tasty. We will definitely be back!
Service was top notch and the food delicious. The best place to go for gyros and stuffed grape leaves.
Amazing restaurant. Very authentic Mediterranean food, cooked by Lebanese guys. Everyone is super friendly and interesting. I dont know his name but the Tunisian guy behind the counter was super funny. They always leave me with a full belly and a full smile. 5 stars
One of my favorite places to eat lamd kabob dinner extra yellow rice and pita. Never doubted it. This place is a must try
This place is sooo delicious. My favorite is the humas and chicken plate with extra pita bread. My wife loves the tabouli and we both like the starter options. If you have a larger group, get one of the larger plates to share and everyone will get a variety of food to enjoy. I hope this place never goes away
Great food, but buffet price is the same for kids and adult.
Very rude customer service. They blamed Grubhub for no gyro meat on my gyro meat salad. Yet my husband received his gyro meat sandwich. And we paid for and ordered grape leaves... werent delivered. When I called they blamed Grubhub and told me I have to deal with them. When my husband called, they told him they were out of grape leaves and, again, we need to get our reimbursement through Grubhub. Rude, inconsiderate customer service.
Sooo good! This hidden gem has great food with great prices, you wont be disappointed.
Amazing food, always delicious! Must try it out
I love the gyros! Fresh pita bread, zesty tzatziki sauce, onions & tomato, and freshly carved meat makes a delicious gyro every time!
They have a good food
Lentil soup was terrible and sauce for falafel was bland. But the salad was good.
You can find almost everything you are looking for in Arab world
I truly enjoyed the cuisine and the service. My first time and definitely not my last.
The food is delicious. So glad to have found this little place.
Amazing Turkish food with a small grocery store attached. Love their homemade tahini (their version of Tzakiki) sauce...would often come in just to purchase it.
I love their buffet and the grocery variety that you dont find anywhere else around the area.
Really Good food and service!
I normally only get carry out; however, the wait staff is always cheerful and eager to please. Their food is always authentic and delicious.
Best Gyro, Greek Salad & Hummus in town. Ive been several times & the food has always been delish & great service as well!
Great spot for Middle Eastern groceries and restaurant. Try the buffet for a good selection on weekends. Hard working staff and great prices. Never disappoints. Amazing Pita bread baked fresh daily!
This place was awesome!! I had the gyro and fries. I couldnt finish it all it was so much food. The fries were so crispy and seasoned lightly with paprika. My wife had the Mazza combo plate, with falafel and a side of rice. So many great flavors. And the leftovers were a welcome snack later while watching Community on Netflix. We will be going back!
So bad nasty expr staff n grocery
Great Gyros. Store was awesome too!
Good variety! Friendly staff. Thank you!
Its been a while since Ive tried mediterranean food with this much flavor and freshness to it. I already know where Im gonna go next time im craving good Falafel and Tabouli.
Fantastic Middle Eastern food. Hubby gets the chicken kebab dinner and I get the chicken shawarma dinner. They come with salad, rice, and veggies. The food is flavorful and the service is great (pre-COVID when we could actually sit down). We have been going here for years since moving to the area and love it so much!
Absolutely delicious food...lamb gyro was huge and the Al Basha combination was flavorful. Definitely be back here.
Excellent customer service. Fresh pita bread
Love this place !!!I have been here on the Northeast side of Indy for many weeks now.....Ive been at albasha multiple times ❤😋
Amazing customer service. Great food!
They were usually pretty good; however, the quality has diminished. Therefore, I won’t spend anymore money there. I wish them well.
I placed an order to take home to serve my family for dinner. The staff was amazingly helpful, and the food - even reheated - was amazing. Will definitely go here again.
We went in for bread. That was it. Everything changed when the smell of the food hit. All 3 of us agreed and took home a feast. All highlights. Well be back soon. ...and yes, we grabbed some bread.
I have never felt more discriminated! The worst service I have ever received. The food was not worth the wait. They promised 15 minutes of wait and I was the only customer present, I waited 45 minutes then left. There are many other places with similar food to eat that are great and have a grocery store along with it. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND!
Always enjoy the gyros dinner. So large hubby & I share. The baba ganoush is the best Ive had anywhere and the lentil soup is delicious. Cant wait to go back.
Always delicious. Very friendly staff. The gyro dinner is otherworldly.
Our first time trying the buffet. Excellent! Our second visit with plans on visiting soon! Thank you!
This is one of my favorite restaurants. Try their gyro with fries or chicken shawarma plate. Its an unforgettable culinary experience.Stop by their store and pick up a freshly made bag of pita bread. Also, check out their spices because for the price it cant be beat. Never again will I pay full price at Kroger. By comparison its fresher and far less expensive.
This place is incredible! In regard to the food, this is the real deal. Absolutely delicious, and the only restaurant with baklava as good as the stuff made by my wife using my mothers old world recipe. The ambiance is very groovy and the people are extremely friendly and kind. This is one of my favorite places to eat in all of Central Indiana. Forget the corporate owned places that litter this area, go here and get some food made with love.
I love middleasten food, Albasha estaurant its ok, my only problem is that when I order fir take out like today. I waited forv40 minutes and the 3 falafel sandwiches were not ready, I started to look for other middleasten restaurant. I found Jerusalem bakery and grill at 141 st and sr 37. That is soooooo delicious and great service. Thanks Albasha to push look for another place to eat...🤗
Nice restaurant and grocery store.
Food was pretty basic. Not terrible, not great. Server was nice and friendly. The market is not bad...
Good food. Good service. Buffet is pretty stoked with high end meats and dishes
Loved this place! Food was terrific. Staff friendly and helpful. Every table in the main dinning room was filled. Music and decor added to the ambiance. This was my first time here, and if I wasnt leaving the state, it would not be my last.
I lived in Montreal for a long time. It is a city with a staggering array of culinary delights from around the world. That being said, the chicken Shawarma sandwich at Al Basha is an international contender. Just fantastic and a rare gem to find in the mid-west! Great food, always friendly staff. What more could you ask for?
Everything was delicious especially the coffee! rich and explosive flavor! im going back again and again!
Zero stars nasty food
The service could be better. The food was ok.
Good spot for Mediterranean food. Looking forward to a return visit.
We spent months searching for a good Mediterranean/Greek carry out spot and finally found it here! Favorites are the hummus and chicken schwarma wrap (my husband even orders that over the gyro meat, which is rare!) - although everything has been good. Service is so friendly and orders are always ready as promised. Would like to try the buffet sometime too.
I have attempted to get food here twice during Covid. Both times the service staff has not been wearing masks. At this time, masks are a requirement in Indiana for anyone in public, especially service staff. If Al basha doesn’t comply with the most obvious thing required by our state, do you think they are washing their hands, using proper time and temperature controls and deploying a rigorous food safety protocol in the back of the house? It makes Al basha hard to trust. This negligence is extremely tone deaf, given our times. Al basha may think that Covid is a hoax, or they may simply be ignorant.Unfortunately, it doesn’t matter. Some customers may not care. The problem is that some customers do care and they will vote with their dollars. I voted with mine yesterday when I saw their service staff not wearing masks...I went somewhere else.
Great food! The gyro is big and tasty. The chicken shwarma is nicely spiced. The buffet is a good deal, and the staff is always friendly. Plus there is an Arab grocery next door if you want to recreate something in your kitchen at home.
This place is a pure gem. Their restaurant has friendly staff, their food is fresh, well made, and authentic. Its one of my absolute favorite places to eat.The attached store is my go to place for spices of every type. Theres candy, desserts, canned and jared goods, tea, etc. But please dont leave without trying their freshly made pita bread. Its special. Theres nothing quite like it.
Excellent tabouleh! Polite and friendly service!
Best pita bread in the area, baked fresh daily. We stock up at the market when we visit and freeze it to enjoy at home. The market has a lot of Middle Eastern ingredients and treats that cant be found in regular grocery stores and the prices are fair. The restaurant food and atmosphere are fantastic, too, but on the pricey side. We would only be able to go out to dinner here once in a while, for a special occasion.
I love this place the food they cook is great and when Im feeling adventurous I can buy lamb and cook it myself is perfect.
The food at this place is fantastic! Plenty of different types of dishes to try and all of them are great! Staff is very friendly. The owner is a great guy and its shows in the quality of his food and service. They can cater large events as well. So if you are looking to do something different for a party, office lunch, etc this is a great option!
Guys be careful when you buy dairy or grocery, they sell expired items . Just look at dates
Spicy gyro for the win. Try it, you wont be disappointed!
Great catering and great food!!
Just had dinner at Al Basha for the first time and Im so glad we did!!! We all had the gyro which were the best gyros weve ever had! Service was great! The restaurant was very clean, quaint and comfortable. We will definitely return to this hidden gem very soon!
My girlfriend and I love this place. I always get a gyro but she gets all sorts of different food and loves it.
Halva was yummy. lots of memories of Israel and Egypt from the grocery store shelves... olives, tahini, felafel...dates. Ordered take out and it was good shawarma. Nice to see a locally owned grocery store, I shop at big chain stores too much.
Very friendly and great selection of items
Excellent food. Good service. Nice choice, wide variety of Mediterranean and middle eastern food. Pokemon gym AND stop! Nice place to take some time and relax.
First time to eat and shop. Well be back for sure. Delicious lamb and eggplant. Food on the buffet was delicious. Cant wait to try the things we bought at the grocery too! New favorite!
Went looking for halal food on our trip and found this place. Bit of a wait for the food to be ready but absolutely worth it! Incredibly delicious and great portion sizes.
I have been here a few times and every time the food has been top notch. The service is also great. Their pita bread really sets them apart that and their humus plate. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area.
Great buffet! Try the cauliflower- it’s so good! Will definitely be back
Best Arabic food in town. Love the kafta plate, gyros are money, and the Turkish coffee is spot on. And theres a market attached with amazing spices and other ingredients. Great place
This is both a restaurant and grocery store. I get take out here occasionally and it is always fantastic. The dinner meals cone with a ton of food and are delicious. The grocery store side has a lot of unique food and their spice selection is fantastic for the price. Finally, the staff is friendly and nice to talk to. I had my kids and we were picking up a treat for them and one list if because he accidentally crushed it. Staff was more than generous in replacing it and calming him down.I highly recommend you check this place out.
This is one of my wife and Is favorite places to eat. Amazing food, great staff and the prices could easily be double what they are. Our favorites are the gyro sandwich, stuffed grape leaves and falafels.
I thought this was a very reasonably priced place to eat. The food is extremely authentic to the Mediterranean. If you are an adventurist eater this is a place you must try. The atmosphere is a little weird and appears the dining was somewhat of an afterthought to the grocery store, but I really enjoyed the food. For those that saw the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding, I saw the waitress cleaning the table with Windex. I about fell out of my chair, dont know if it was staged that way or what.
The buffet here is great! Its a home made middle eastern/Mediterranean food, which you cannot easily find every where, with a very reasonable price!
Right now, this is my absolute favorite med-cuisine spot! The food is wonderfully delicious. Pleasant greeting upon my arrival, very charming atmosphere and decor, and we had the most wonderful, attentive, and thoughtful waiter. I chose the falafel dinner, lentil soup, and hummus with raspberry tea....YUM-MY! Definitely see lunch/dinner in the near future here again (like, in a few days or less!) Can hardly wait to explore the grocery side!
Grocery store was nice. Nice selection.
Wonderful place ... really enjoyed the lamb kabobs.. I was so full and had so much left over..I had to take box home .. the service was excellent! Very friendly And helpful.. everything was clean... Even the unisex restroom...inshallah I will make this place a favorite!
Liked it! Delicious buffet at a very reasonable cost. They have limited items in the menu but items they served were good enough. Will try it again for sure.
Me and my girlfriend just tried this place and we both loved it
Wonderful owner, great employees & incredible food !! Just the BEST, & u cant find a better gyro anywhere. Chicken kabob dinner is my favorite meal ever !!
