Under new management, and theyve done a great job! Sutter smoke bbq is prepared fresh every day and the kitchen is open past 8 pm (unlike 90% of restaurants on Sutter St). The bar staff is friendly and quick, especially Bridget, Mikayla, and Titus on the weekdays. Im not into country music very much, but I dont mind when Im here because of the great atmosphere. They also have country dancing late nights on the weekends 👍

Open daily from 11am-2am. Great food, awesome staff. Drinks made to perfection and a good selection of craft beers. If you like BBQ this is a great place for a bite.

On Saturday I arrived to the Folsom Saloon at 11:00 a.m., which is the time they open. When I approached the door, the bartender was placing tables and chairs outside on the sidewalk and she informed me they were not open yet and it would be awhile. I told her no worries, I would wait and that I wasnt in a hurry. I asked if the website hours were wrong, she replied Im the only one here to open . While I sat outside to wait, she locked the doors. Eventually a young man opened the doors and directed me inside; however, the bartender again informed me she was not ready. I asked if I could sit on the patio outback, she said yes. I sat outside waiting for my friend to join me. When my friend arrived, the bartender tried to make her wait out front. My friend eventually made her way to the back patio. After 30 minutes of waiting outside, the bartender came outside and gave us permission to enter the bar. Once inside, the bartender informed us that the bar/restaurant is under new ownership, the place is now Folsom Saloon, she is new to the area as well as to the bar, and proceeded to inform us that the place is much better and more fun then before. But when we looked around, there were no other customers and there were no tables and chairs...just the bare hardwood floors.When we asked about food, she handed us a 5x7 piece of paper with a few BBQ items listed and informedus they no longer serve brunch. However, the bartender said the BBQ was not up and running. My friend and I were looking for brunch, so we explained that to the bartender, who was happy to see us leave. As we were leaving, she said at least you guys look good (hu?). I want to add that the bartenders tone during our entire interaction was not a good one and her final comment was even worse.Since I live in Folsom, Ive visited this place under the previous ownership and I can say that when I walked into the place, I was greeted with a smile, made to feel welcome, and I had a great time every visit. This most recent experience left me bewildered. Im hoping it was just a bad day....

Great old-timey ambience, eclectic crowd, good grub and Chad Bushnell entertained with lively acoustic country.

After ordering a hellaciously expensive meal off of nonexistent menus (a new kind of price gouging), I was charged twice. The phone at this establishment is apparently never monitored, or this wouldnt have made it to the review page. Adding to this, the integrity of the building has been ruined inside with non-period-accurate and mismatched fittings and turquoise wallpaper. Will not be going in the future.

I was really looking forward to trying the brunch menu but quickly found that the hotel is under new ownership. I’ll start with they weren’t opened at 11 since the bartender was quick to tell me she wasn’t ready to open. I decided to wait on the patio in the back because my friend and I were not in a hurry so we excused the initial rudeness from the bartender and thought we would wait it out. After about 15 minutes the bartender came out to the patio and said I’m ready for you to come in now. So at the this point it was close to 11:30. We asked for a menu and she told us nothing would be ready for a while but we insisted on still looking at the menu. The menu no longer offers breakfast options and is a few items for bbq options. When we asked about it she said everything is under new management and that the hotel is now “fun” and a country bar. We continued to attempt to have small talk with the bartender but at this point the rudeness, lack of food, and overall attitude was just not worth it. We ended up walking across the street and had a delicious French toast across the street at a local Mexican restaurant. I’m sad I didn’t get to experience this place pre Covid because I heard nothing but amazing things! I hope the new owners read the room on what the locals like. Good friendly customer service goes a long way. If you’re not ready to serve food then I don’t think it should be offered as an option until later in the day. The bartender doesn’t need to be so condescending and rude to anyone who walks in. Also a hello or greeting is often a good way to greet a customer rather than saying I’m not ready.

Midtown Hos in Folsom. What more can you ask for?? Only a $5 cover (unlike the ghetto Scarlets/Powerhouse across the street thats $20)

I must give much-deserved praise to the Folsom Hotel for their excellence response to the latest social distancing guidelines! Not only did they space their tables, inside and out, six feet apart, but also there were no barstools at the self-serve bar or waitresses outside (even during the two-piece acoustic show on the outside patio (beneath the rear deck of the establishment)). Everything seemed clean and people were apparently inspired to remain six feet apart, including the musicians.

A great gastropub. The food is awesome, the drinks are very good and reasonably priced. The bartenders here are the best. A must see when on Sutter street.

We come here often because its close to home. The service for drinks is 4 star but the drinks are tasty and the burgers and fries are absolutely amazing!! Crispy hot fries - never soggy or even slightly cool. I dont know who the weirdo was who said eat elsewhere but Im here to say, Eat Here! You wont regret it. Best bar food Ive had since I moved to California last July. Try the Beer Cheese burger! And those fries. . .

I got an almond milk mocha, garlic fries, homemade chips and the blackened chicken sandwich for lunch while perusing shops in historic Folsom. It was all so good! They even brought out a side that looked like ranch, but it was something pickle and it was also very good. Everyone at the bar and the the chef were all great and very friendly. It was a great stop. :-D

Completely re-invented! They made it safe and more comfortable. It is now very family friendly!

Great time here! Our bartender Robin made great recommendations and the other bar patrons made the experience even more welcoming! Come in for Sunday brunch, the breakfast burrito is delicious and the bellini is the perfect addition.

I did not stay but hung out around that area and there views are amazing. I would definitely try to stay here one day. I cant wait to see how it looks at night but the time that I did go it was good.

Old Folsom is incredibly beautiful. I had never been. The hotel is historic and cute. The food was really good and reasonably priced. Vanessa the bartender is great. Experience, personality, and she can pour a great drink.

We really tried to like the food here. I sadly cannot recommend anything but the candied bacon. Our group tried burgers, tacos and a variety of other orders but it all was about as good as you might expect from the food car on Amtrak (no disrespect to Amtrak, its just how it is). Sadly, the food at the hotel is priced alot more like an upscale bar, instead of the Amtrak car. There are a ton of great places to eat on Sutter Street, this is not one of them. Come for the drinks and live music. Eat elsewhere.

The place doesnt look like much but its great here. Staff super friendly and I get my drinks very quick, even on New years. They have a spot for live bands so check when theyre playing, most are really good and energetic.

The Hotel is an old-fashioned, old-school bar, almost dive-y. Nothing fancy inside - dark wood, a few tables and old couches. Its always very laid-back and utterly unpretentious, which is nice.

Dueling pianos: super fun. That alone is 4 stars. The food was good as well for the place and price. Ribs are juicy and tender. Drinks are fairly priced according to my friends who drink cocktails.There are specials everyday and if you make it before 7 its free. Great time, great music, great ambiance. You have to come!

Just moved to Folsom. Always on the lookout for a dive bar. This place was a great surprise. Not only a happy hour menu that goes all day until 6pm but the food was incredible. Matthew did a fantastic job with the house made potato chips (my weakness) and the onion rings were great as well. But the $2 tacos will bring us back. Give the food a try next time you stop in.

Folsom Hotel is a great venue, friendly bartenders. This place is packed Friday and Saturday nights for the live music. Good food on the side! Its in the historic old Town Folsom area, and just a touch divy, but a lot of fun!

Have always loved the Hotel for stiff drinks in the heart of downtown Folsom but the new 703 Grill they have inside is SO YUMMY! I know they have tried having food from the kitchen before at the Hotel, but this is new and worth trying. The whole place has new floors, new bathrooms, the old office by the bathrooms is GONE and everything is updated. Bottomless mimosas during brunch... Sold!!!

The food is delicious and the bartender, Lisa, is awesome. As of May 6th, theyve added a weekly comedy show on Monday nights that books really funny comedians! They also have a really cool patio that will be cool (no pun intended) in the summer. All in all, it seems like a cool spot to be!!
