I went to college with a Chinese roommate in the bay area. He prided himself on knowing the best Chinese restaurants. I tagged along many times to the best he could offer. New Chinese Cuisine in Forest Grove matches or exceeds anything we ate over those years. If he ever visits this would be the only restaurant I would bring him to.People always mention supporting small businesses as if there is a downside or you are doing extra to avoid a chain. Well here is a small business that can be supported with no downsides. Their food is fresh, excellent, and abundant. Family owned with excellent service. Feng, the wonderful lady running the place, has an amazing memory. By my third visit she knew my name even on phone orders. By now I have been ordering weekly and as of this review I am over 25 out of 25 visits all deserving a 5 star rating. It felt wrong to not to add a well deserved glowing review of this hidden gem. This family run Chinese restaurant deserves to be found. Forest Grove, and Pacific University need to understand that New Chinese Cuisine is not just good food for Forest Grove, or good food for Portland. It is good food. Period.As of writing, due to Covid they are take-out only.Prices are borderline ridiculous. 75% the price of fast food meals for 10x the quality and 2x the food. They should charge more. Yes I said it.

The food is always great. This is one of those family small businesses I love to support because the owners are simply awesome. I have moved away from Forest Grove years before, but when our old group of friends get together, we will make the drive. And Feng remembers us by name. Even if its been 2 years. She knows our regular order and the substitutions we used to ask for. She is super friendly and attentive and will treat you like an old friend. She is the epitome of what customer service can be. We love her and we love the food.

She is absolutely awesome!!!OMG!! good chinese finally came back to FG. hallelujah! favorites: bbq pork fried rice, some of the best tasting garlic chicken ive ever had and the cashew chicken. theyre awesome about ixnaying items (like the onions im allergic to & despise) and offer substitutions (to replace those nasty onions). the woman (sorry i dont recall your name) is an absolute doll and always friendly & helpful, even seeming to enjoy my sisters & my comedy act as we tried to give her our order the other night.

The food was SO fresh! There were a variety of vegetables in my meal that all were fresh, not frozen. The portion sizes are huge for the price. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Im from San Francisco and eaten at A LOT of different Chinese restaurants. Was worried I wouldnt find a good place up here when I moved.But I gotta say, this is the best one Ive been to yet. Definitely beats out all of the ones back in the Bay Area!I honestly cant say a single bad thing about them and if I ever have a concern the staff is absolutely amazingly friendly and supportive.They show everyone that they genuinely care and that alone is worth the 5 stars.

Consistency is key! We have eaten at this restaurant many times and they nail it. The portions are generous and the prices are affordable. You won’t regret it.

The VERY BEST Chinese food!! Haven’t found a single place better than them! I was nervous to try the vegetarian menu since I used to get the dinner combo before going vegetarian but it is just as good, and comes with PLENTY of food! The family that runs this place genuinely cares about each and every customer they are the most wonderful human beings!! Excited to come back ASAP!!

I’ll keep this simple. Great food, great portions, really great price and extremely friendly staff. You may have to wait a bit as they are busy sometimes but it’s well worth it. We will definitely be making this a regular spot. Cheers!

I love this place. Came into town for a visit with my sister and rode our bike to the coffee shop. The customer service was great. I ordered the wrong drink and they happily made another one. They warmed up my blueberry muffin. I love it all.

Hot, fresh and great presentation. One of my favorites is the sizzling beef, when they bring it out they transfer from a hot plate, hence the sizzling. I also like the beef with black bean sauce, Mandarin chicken and chicken lo mein. Really though you cant choose just those four. Its all good.

The staff are very friendly and respectful. This was only our second time here but they made us feel like regulars. The food is excellent and the portions are very generous- I can get 2 meals out of the dinner portion. They also give a discount to Pacific students which is a nice bonus. Seriously, my go-to chinese food from now on.

I have looked far and wide in the entire Portland area for the best Egg Foo Yung.Parts of Vancouver, Longview, all the little hole in the wall spots traveling to the coast and all around the valley for work.I have gone out of my way, trying to find my “go-to”, weeding through them all.Trust me when I say:This is, hands down, the best recipe I have ever tasted.$8.25,(I get mine with pork, and pork fried rice instead of white. )The most wonderful, HUGE portion. Ain’t a tiny, soggy “disc”.When you imagine of what it should be in your head, this is it.My only suggestion: EAT IT WHILE IT’S HOT!!

The chicken pieces in the sweet and sour chicken were whole pieces of what seemed to be fresh white meat chicken. Large pieces of chicken.> The shrimp was excellent.> The green beans tasted fresh and werent limp and sad.> We also got general tso chicken. It was very good with large chunks of white meat chicken.> We ordered two additional appetizers, crab puffs and pot stickers. The dinner specials came with one spring roll each. Each item was a good size with large portions.> Prices were good.> I only had two issues:-- the breading on the fried food was pretty thick, but this is just due to my preferences.-- And, one of the staff members wasnt very friendly, but the rest of them were incredibly helpful and kind.

The food here is great, and the customer service is amazing. The people who run this establishment take the time to remember their customers. To me that is something that makes a huge difference when I choose somewhere to eat.

You can tell the food is fresh and made to order. I got the beef green beans and the sauce was so flavorful!! It was savory and garlicky with a little bit of heat. The green beans were crisp and bright green yet still tender.I suggest calling in your order if going for take out. I dont know if we chose a busy night but the wait time was above average.

They were already on top of it, as far as recommendations off the menu, refills, napkins, more tea, and to go boxes.This was a perfect dining experience and the prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of food and service you receive at this establishment.

I have eaten at every chinese restaurant within 10 miles of Forest Grove, this is the best by far. I order takeout from New Chinese Cuisine weekly. The food is always fresh and the owners are more than happy to customize any dish to your liking. The prices are extremely affordable and you are provided with a hefty amount of food. This restaurant doesnt skimp on portion size. If youre looking for an affordable tasty meal, you will not be disappointed. The mandarin beef and mandarin chicken are two of my favorite dishes.

Wow! Really great place! I heard of how good this restaurant was before but I tried it for myself and it was delicious. I had the Mongolian beef and it was spicy and delicious. My wife had the broccoli chicken and it was super tasty. The chefs really know their stuff when it comes to this. The staff are SUPER friendly and kind. Love this place.

I have eaten here several times. The food is always fresh, not made ahead of time. It has great flavor. The family is very friendly and easy to speak with. They will accommodate your food needs.Since food is made fresh you may have to wait and it may not come to serve the table all at the same time, but that is minor when the food tastes so great. Best Chinese food I have ever eaten.

Absolutely amazing food and very reasonably priced. We have been looking for a good chinese restaurant. We have eaten in so many all around the Portland metro and random places around Oregon and Washington, and New Chinese Cuisine is the best we have had in the Pacific Northwest. We will be returning frequently not only for the great food but for the phenomenal customer service from all of the staff.

We moved out of the area and I cant find any chinese food place as good. 10/10 always stop here when Im in the area.

Service was good. Servers were very friendly, but food was meh. Ordered a meat dish, but there wasnt much meat. Food seasoning was not very good. Sauce tasted very basic. Very large portion sizes though.

Great food at a good price. There was way more food than we could eat and it was a tight fit to get the leftovers into a take home box. They appear to do a large amount of takeout orders which is good since it is a pretty small space for a restaurant. I highly recommend this eating establishment.

That reason alone almost prompted me to give it five stars. Food is mostly to be expected, standard Chinese fair, but its good.The selection on the menu is also a bit better than some places.Staff is friendly, its out of my way, but I will return again when Im in the area.

I have been to this place twice now and both times very consistent, fresh and hot food. Crazy big portions so would rather see them charge more and serve less from a business standpoint. Definitely American Style Chinese food done well, way better than panda and half of the price.

The best Chinese food anywhere hands down. All made to order, fresh, and amazing. They were closed for almost a year and it was hard times. So glad theyre back! The new location is not as cozy/spacious as the old, so wait times are much higher - but still worth the wait. Hot tea and awesome soup come with each meal, giant portions of heaven with a tiny price tag. The service is unmatched as well, owners run the place and remember your go-to order (including all substitutions!)

One of my favorite Chinese places! Staff are all extremely kind and food is amazing. Sometimes theres a long wait but everything is freshly made, definitely worth it.

It it my hope that they look at these reviews because I think this place has the potential to be top notch; just needs a few changes. The hot and sour soup is very bland and a little too gelatinous; but if you put a tiny about of the hot oil in it, it is much better. The General Tso chicken was good, but it was a bit soggy. I like it very crispy. The way to solve this maybe would be to have less sauce and dont have it submerged? Or perhaps just make the breading crispier. My girlfriends Broccoli Beef was pretty good as well. Proportions were great and the server was super nice. The atmosphere was pretty good but maybe some light music could have improved it a little. The furniture could use some improvements. The booth seats are a bit rough as they had more of an aged 50s diner feel.
