I give it two starts not because of quality of work that is but because of customer service. I was talked to like I knew nothing about cars but how to start it. And that just simply isnt the case. However quality of work would get like 4 stars. Guys who just start there seem to be under the impression that only techs are knowledgeable...
Another place in town was not able identify the problem after holding it for a week, and Jeep dealer couldn’t get us in for a month on our 2004 Wrangler. The folks at this Aamco were clearly busy too, and still responsive and professional. They fixed the issue (new transmission) in a timely manner and the pricing was fair. Very customer oriented — even the dude who went to fetch our Jeep from the parking spot across the street.
Hello my name is Christian and wanted to thank everyone at AAMCO for helping me with great service and for their amazing work. They are very punctual and have the best prices in town. Thanks again Todd for communicating with me and making me feel at ease. Had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend anyone to this company, if you want a great experience and great prices I wouldn’t think twice and always use AAMCO, thank you again.
AAMCO is amazing! I took my car to our dealership for regular maintenance and the dealership said they couldn’t rotate my tires due to not having the correct lug nut wrench(which was supposed to be with the car when I bought it.)When I called AAMCO they immediately told me they could get it in right after my oil change was done and had a universal tool to rotate the tires. I am so grateful for good business right here in Fort Collins. Thank you Lance Pickett and your team for fixing us up and always being someone we can count on!
I admit Ive never been to this Business but I never will go there. I go to a business that is right next-door and they are constantly blocking the driveway, the fire lane and the other parking lot. They are rude they do not care about safety and theyve been called numerous times by the fire department due to the safety violations. They obviously do not care about other businesses and are not good neighbors I would never go there and if I could give them zero stars I would.
Google says that they are open on Saturdays, however we are in front of one now and it is locked. I called the number and the on-call staff answered and said that they have been closed on Saturdays for over a year now. My friend needed to get something from her car while it was there to be worked on, and we relied on Google saying it was open until one. I think you should update your hours for Saturday to say closed so no one else wastes their time driving here on a day you are closed.I also want to add that we had to call a locksmith to get into my friends car, as the on call staff member didn’t even offer to come out to hand us the keys to get what we needed out of the car and then give them back.
After just 85k miles our 2014 Ford Escapes transmission failed and locked up all 4 wheels without warning. We are very happy that our local AAMCO service center was able to rebuild the transmission for us at a great savings over Fords estimate. When more damage than expected was found-including a front wheel bearing possibly damaged when towed-AAMCO completed the repairs and stuck to their initial estimate. Thank you!
Lance I can’t thank you enough for being so patient and kind explaining the issues with my car. You gave me options and ideas on the steps that needed to come next. My dad told me to come there and he was right. Usually shops have to call him to explain things and he tells me what that means. You spoke to me like a real person and didn’t use the big words like doctors do. Dad was surprised that I was calling him to explain it. You are amazing at your job. I listened as you spoke to your guys while waiting and saw your calm confidence in explaining what you needed done next. They are lucky to have you there to help them. My car runs great now and I know it’s not all you. They were great at what they do obviously. But a good employee mirrors the leadership. Thank you for helping me.
Extremely helpful and prompt. Got our vehicle back on the road promptly.Thank you!
I came in questioning if I had transmission repairs needing done. I came-out knowing I did not. What I like about AAMCO is that they are trustworthy beyond measure. Thank you so much, all!
AAMCO is my go-to place for almost anything related to my vehicles. I have used them for years and have referred them to family and friends. They have always treated my wife and me honestly and fairly, always going above and beyond. They diagnose most issues at no cost, and the repairs are always fairly priced. Sometimes they have done quick repairs and not charged us, which I always find hard to believe. I trust their judgement and suggestions. The manager, Lance, is a friendly and upright guy with superb knowledge of the industry. He has even taught at the local community college. The name is misleading as they do much more than just transmissions. They are a total car care facility.
I had my Ford 4R100 automatic transmission from a 1999 F-250 Diesel with 197,000 miles rebuilt at this shop in spring 2017, after the rebuild I tried to resolve issues with the torque converter hunting for lockup, hard shifting and a bit of slip into fourth gear. The rebuilder rode with me and told me the shifting wasn’t too hard or slippery, but was normal, but he offered to change the shift kit out and I declined. They tried to find the reason why it was hunting for lockup but couldn’t. I later found that the ABS wiring was causing the problems with hunting for lockup, but the slip into fourth gear kept getting worse. At 238,000 miles I had the transmission fluid and filter exchanged and it was slightly burnt and had excessive metal flakes in it. The shop recommended I rebuild or replace it then, but I drove another 11,000 miles and now the transmission has totally failed and will be replaced. I am not happy with the ~52,000 lifespan on the rebuild, which they told me should last close to 200,000 miles. I would not let this shop rebuild my pickup transmission again, maybe they’re better at smaller cars that don’t tow? also I wouldn’t completely trust their diagnosis, but they’re not bad, I would let them do a transmission swap I suppose. I rate them 2.5 stars, I’m not impressed with the work but my 1999 Ford Diesel with 4R100 has been known to have transmission problems when towing. I would not bring my 4R100 to them again, I am using a shop that is more specialized in trucks that tow and paying more for a Jasper remanufactured transmission now.
I think they deserve 10 stars.I am posting a few stories on here as I thought posting each one separately might appear to be shilling. Which this is absolutely not, but rather an appreciation to have someone you can trust and who is honest as the day is long.Having someone that you can trust, a company that has your back and yes while they have to make money, they do it the right way. By creating long term customers through integrity and honesty. The latest was we had to take my daughters car in. They accidentally damaged the power steering and replaced it. Then the new one wasnt working and they replaced it as well. Because they said it was their fault, they did not charge for it. Wow, how many companies own it and then do something to make their customer feel even better. Here is another story. We had an oil leak in one of our cars and thought that we should give it a look to see how the whole car is doing as it was a very high milage car. They came back with some information, but more importantly suggestions. They recommended fixing one item, but the oil leak would cost more than it was worth, so they suggested just watching it. Another item on the vehicle was a maybe, but they said lets just watch it and see if it gets worse. In the end replaced the boot, but again going back to the integrity piece, they gave recommendations not just to generate business, but that made sense for the customer. We absolutely will never take any of our vehicles anywhere else unless they cannot do it, as they have earned trust and permanent business but how they run the shop.Hats off to Don and Lance as they run a quality outfit.
Didnt fix anything, wasted my time. Told me to come back in a month after it sat in shop for 4 hrs no one touched it.
Always seems to take care of Mon. Kind of got rid of me. All good..
Theyre always nice and very friendly, thank you to all of them, especially Lance and Todd.
As I am sure other reviews have shown, this is a very reliable and trust worthy repair shop. Lance talked me through the diagnostics process and was able to get me in the next day for a transmission rebuild. 2 days later we were out the door. If you are looking for trustworthy, quick, and reliable service look no further.
All other shops charge for diagnostic (110$ and up ) I’ll just leave it at that
Great shop! They fixed my clutch that was improperly installed by a competitor and gave me a great price on differential work. They even did an awesome job spraying rust proofing on the axle without being asked. Clean, polite, timely, and quality work!
Absolutely amazing service. I had my transmission done by these guys a few years ago and after some engine trouble took my truck somewhere else and had them screw it up even more. Towed it to Ammco and they got me up and running no problem.
This place went above and beyond. The receptionist, Patrick was really nice and willing to explain the stuff I didnt understand. Our warranty coverage under carvana of course found a reason to not cover things that shouldve been. AAMCO not only bugged them until they actually gave us an answer, but was willing to work with us on prices when it wasnt covered. They also hurried on our stuff knowing it was our only means of transportation.Safe to say we are upand running again!Thank you!!!
They did an amazing job with my car. Super fast and friendly. Will definitely be going back 🥰
Amazing people, customer service was 1st class. They communicated consistently with me through the process and backed up the work when it had a glitch shortly after getting the car back. It is running great now with no problems. I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone
CHOOSE AAMCO! They are professional, kind, honest, and very generous. After visiting 6 other mechanics in the area with no luck, the team at AAMCO actually took the time to really look at my car and quickly found a solution. There are so many car repair options in the Fort Collins area, make your life easier and just go to AAMCO first! They’re the best!
If you’re having transmission issuesAll you need is AAMCOSpecially the one on MasonReally good service and quality workEnjoy your repairs 😎
Chase and the boys at AAMCO are awesome. Honest, fair, great service levels!
Yea..... not impressed with their lack of communication and respect for others valuable time.
Trustworthy, resourceful, & fairly priced. They go above & beyond & have shown time and time again that they really care about their customers best interest. Theyre honest with you, but dont oversell or act pushy. They do a good job trying to explain the work that needs to be done, without coming across as patronizing. Ive gone to them for wheel bearings, starter, bumper maintenance, front center engine mount, & a new used transmission (my Honda Accord has over 275,000 miles - yes, really!). Im very thankful to have been referred to them from another one of their customers.
Chance needs to be kept forever and needs a raise. Great customer service.
From start to finish the company did an excellent job their customer service was bar Nunn the best I’ve ever had they did an excellent job fixing the transmission and working on other things on my truck I will definitely go back to the shop again in the future. If you want someone you can trust to fix your car right the first time, this is the company you choose thank you AAMCO Fort Collins
I’ve had my fair share of car troubles, but AAMCO is hands down the best place that has ever serviced my car. The whole team was so nice and truly cared about my needs. I am a young girl who knows little to nothing on how cars work, which some places see me as an opportunity to up sell and blah blah, but not this place! Lance walked me through every thing they were going to do on my car using pictures on google, communicated with me about everything they were doing/ planned to do, and was straight forward about every single thing. They paid attention to the small details and made sure this problem would not reoccur anytime soon. (If ever) I will be recommending this place to all my friends and family in the area!!On top of the great customer service, the guys in the back really know what they are doing. I drive a Fiat and most places won’t even touch my car or don’t have experience with cars like this, but AAMCO confidently handled it all and I was able to drive home with a car in better shape than when I dropped it off.As much as it was a pain in my butt to have my car break down, I had an exceptional experience with this place and if I had to do it all over again I would go back to this company in a heart beat.
You can count on the guys at Aamco for all your needs. Excellent service and support.
Lance, Patrick, and Todd and whoever else there at Fort Collins Aamco have always done their best to keep this single moms wheels moving. And affordable! I feel safe knowing I dont have to question if they did a good job because they have done a great job! Above & Beyond!Much thanks 08 Aspen Mom
Brought both our Jetta’s in for transmission service. Both cars run great with no complaints. We appreciate the timely manner in which both cars were repaired and back on the road. Dealership quoted us thousands and wanted to replace the transmissions, you guys replaced the solenoids for a few hundred bucks. Thanks again.
Nothing but good things to say about our experiences with AAMCO. We have had our vehicles serviced here on many occasions and have always been very happy with the service we have gotten. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for car repairs at an affordable price, and never being sold more than what was necessary. They have always gotten our cars done quickly and great communication along the way letting us know what is going on. I always know I will get consistent and reliable service when coming here.
AMMCO has been hands down the best auto repair shop I have ever worked with. From the customer service to the quality of work. They always do thorough and honest diagnostic testing, they are definitely not a shop to just throw parts at your car or “suggest” what should be fixed. They get to the bottom of the issue and fix things the right way! Very patient and smart people who know what they are doing, it doesn’t matter who I spoke to, I could get answers about my vehicle. Special shout out to Lance and Todd for making sure my family and I had a safe reliable vehicle on the road ❤️
Great place took my car to two different shops of theres and they both did excellent jobs
My cars brakes wore through while I was out of town. My family took it in and AAMCO did an incredible job - spent time doing a full complimentary check and then immediately doing affordable repairs when I gave the go-ahead. Fast, super friendly, inexpensive, and not at all condescending when explaining the issue.UPDATE: when I had an additional issue, they fixed it very quickly and for free. They also answered an unrelated question about my internal computer and had a technician help me out for free. Really really good folks here
Great service, friendly staff, and the work was done in the timetable they said it would be.
Best mechanics in town. We took the car to another mechanic who wanted $5000 for a long list of maintenance items. The guys at AAMCO explained which were actually necessary now and a good timeline for the others and then did the urgent repairs for half the price.
This review is long overdue! We have been taking a number of our vehicles over the years to AAMCO and highly recommend them. They are honest, professional, and go above and beyond in customer service. We have used them for minor repairs to complete transmission rebuild and have always been completely satisfied with their work. They stand behind every job they have ever done for us.
The staff was friendly. My car is running so great! Thanks to the team at Ft. Collins AAMCO for a job well done!!
Aamco was the cheapest out of the three choices I had. They offered the best warranty on a rebuilt transmission at the lowest cost. I can not give a full report on quality because I have only been driving the car with the rebuilt transmission for about 2 weeks, but so far so good. The only issue I had was the car took a week to fix. It was told to me between two and three days. If they would have called me and kept me up to date I would have been fine with it. But I had to initiate the communication.
Professional and curtious, best service around.
Service was great, very friendly personnel, did everything they promised, would recommend highly, will use them again, if I need more work done, in the future.
I had a wonderful experience! Extremely friendly, honest, efficient workers. Being a young college student I didn’t know much about what was wrong with my car and they were very informative and honest with what needed to be done. Reasonably priced and very quick with service. I will alley be going back for the service and personal experience I received. I loved AAMCO Fort Collins!!
I have used these fine folks for two different vehicles needing a complete transmission rebuild. They did a fantastic job both times and have always been informative, patient and honor their warranty. Strongly recommend them!!!Updated: They still ROCK! Older vehicles are needful things and these guys keep things working, clearly inform me of what is happening and getting me back on the road:)
Lance in the team at aamco are the best we have been going to aamco for years now thats the only place we take our car no matter whats wrong with it they can always fix it theyre not just for transmissions thank you so much for all your hard work youre honesty
AAMCO is my new favorite auto service company. Very honest and helpful. I had some issues with my truck that could have been very difficult to find. They found and fixed them quickly without trying to sell me anything I didnt need.Thank you AAMCO.
Honest repairs at a great rate with a fast turnaround time.Thank you for keeping us Safe.
Fair price and phenomenal service. Will definitely return.
Great staff, did the transmission in our RV quickly and were very easy to work with. We liked them enough we just sent our Suburban to them to get the trans replaced instead of doing it ourselves. Great guys
Excellent shop to do business with. Everyone was courteous, professional and knowledgeable. They quickly took care of the transmission problem I was having. I will definitely take all of my vehicles to them for any issues I need help with.
These guys are just simply the BEST. Lance and Todd and crew are upfront with the issues and always have the time in their busy day to answer questions. They got years and years of experience between them. AND they stand behind their work and provide free problem diagnostic that others charge for.
Excellent experience at AAMCO. The staff was great and did an amazing job replacing a clutch on our 2006 Mustang. They provided a quote and only charged for what was needed. . We plan to go back.
The guy are great but couldnt figure out my transmission problem.. still have the same problem I took it in for unfortunately 😕
Just a pleasure to do business with every time I would not recommend any other Transmission shop in northern Colorado. Lance and David are always the expert minds in this area and just good people to talk to.
Good.
Todd a mechanic at AAMCO is beyond belief. He is honest and truly knows his stuff. I have worked on cars in the past and so I am very critical when it comes to someone working on my vehicles and it is important that I trust someone. And Todd has earned my trust many times over. And Lance the owner is a awesome guy also.
Terrible place. The owner is greedy the workers are unbelievably daft. As a lifetime mechanic I am ashamed to have such a con artist in my community.
Fast, clean, friendly and detailed information on whats going on
The guys at Aamco are great! Lance goes out of his way to make sure his customers are happy and and does everything he can to earn lifetime customers. I had a transmission rebuilt not long ago and then had another issue recently. Lance helped me with financing and did what he could to help me out of an tough situation. I wont take my vehicles anywhere else. These guys are honest and put the customer first. I highly recommend them for any car trouble!
My name is Mike and I have to tell you the story about my friend Emmett.Emmett is a single dad with a low income. He has been without his car for over nine months. Bumming rides for him and his son gets old. The car had serious transmission problem and he could not afford to have it repaired. I wanted to help him out and get his car repaired and pay for it. So I talk to my friends at Fort Collins AAMCO about Emmett and his situation and if they could repair it and what it would cost. They asked me to bring the car in and they would look it over and let me know. A couple weeks after dropping the car off they contacted me and said the car was repaired and ready to be picked up. I told Emmett the news, he was so happy and thankful for what was done for him and Daniel his son. When Emmett picked his car up he was informed of all the repairs to the car. The crew AAMCO not only fixed the transmission they did a brakes job and an alignment. When Emmett got back home he came to me and couldn’t thank me enough. I got to inform Emmett at that my friends at AAMCO deserves the thanks, they took care of all the repairs at no cost. God bless and thank you so much to our friends at Fort Collins AAMCOMikeEmmett and Daniel
The staff at Aamco has been very helpful and courteous. They do what they say they will do, and in a timely manner. I recommend them.
I took my 88 Grand Marquis over there for a transmission service. It was slipping pretty bad from stop to accel and really had me worried because I had just bought it. I took it over to AAMCO and I was really impressed with their service. Not only did they not try to sell me things that I didnt need, like a lot places try to do, but they were honest and straight forward with everything and since I got it serviced my car shifts so smooth. Ill definitely be back over there the next time I need a service.
These guys are always helpful, knowledgeable and honest. They always help me and go out of their way to provide excellent customer service. This shop shows integrity and values that not many places have these days.
I have been here multiple times to get my ‘72 pickup truck looked at. Each time I have been here, they have been honest and given me the exact service I needed. I would not go anywhere else in Fort Collins, the mechanics and employees have been extremely understanding, nice, and efficient. If you’re looking for a mechanic, I highly recommend this place, you will not be disappointed!
I can not say enough about the wonderful service I received at Aamco. I came in with a long list of recommended repairs from the dodge dealership’s service department. Lance performed a thorough maintenance check in my car and found not a single thing wrong with it. In fact, my brakes were at 6mm not the 1 mm that was reported to me. I am so grateful for the honesty of Lance. I highly recommend this company!
These guys are amazing and honest. They take the time to look the entire vehicle if needed for any issues. I took a 97 taurus in to have the transmission looked at for sluggusjness, hard shifting and hanging up during certain gear changes. I had a diagnosis and a reasonable price quote for rebuild the same day. Issues were fully explained so that even someone who knows nothing about cars can understand. I really wish I had known that they do more than transmissions and wish I had known about them sooner.
Got clutch fox a few years ago and broke down with less than 20000 miles said ow well to me about it. Never go back there again got it fixed for less and feels way better than when they ripped me off.
I took my car in because it was making a whirring sound somewhere around the front left. I thought it might be my transmission which is in that general vicinity, but the mechanics said that the left front wheel bearing needed to be replaced so I asked them to go ahead and do it. That weekend, I went on a little trip, and my brake lights went on while I had to cross over two mountain passes. I was kind of mad about it, and brought it back into AAMCO. I told them I was pretty sure that it had something to do with the job they had just completed. They checked out my car, and said that my back right wheel bearing was going bad and needed to be replaced. I was highly suspicious, and told them so. They told me that they wanted to keep my business and that they would replace the second wheel bearing for FREE just to prove that their work on the first one was good, which they did. I never had any more problems with my brake lights coming on, and I basically got new wheel bearings on two tires for the price of one, and they did it just to prove to me that they were reliable and trustworthy. I was pretty amazed, and I apologized for doubting them.
I took my vehicle to have the ignition taken care of when I took it my amplifier for my subwoofer was working and when I got it back my amplifier for my subwoofer did not work and have to be replaced I contacted the passivity and they will not do anything about it do not take your car here for any type of service these people do not honor anything that they do
Five weeks into my third rebuild and corporate AAMCO keeps telling me, “they are all independently owned and operated shops.” Don’t go to the one in Ft. Collins. They were still waiting for parts...four weeks after getting the car. Towing back to the shop is not covered under warranty. Time in the shop for additional repairs is not counted against warranty. They have had it for over two of the last five months.
Great friendly service! They care about their customers and make sure your vehicle is safe before getting you back on the road. If things go wrong they make it right. Thank you AAMCO Fort Collins!
Once again AAMCO has come through with a warranty repair. Always appreciate their quick service and no issues when it comes to warranty coverage.Update 7/17/20- went in to Oil Can Henrys for an oil change, and learned my air hose was completely disconnected! Called Lance at Aamco, and he had the part ordered and ready for me same day. Stopped in and 25 minutes later the tech had it all repaired for me. Definitely appreciate this place!
Lance and the ALL the fellas will always take care of you! And HONESTLY at that!
Just great service from these guys. They have the best technicians who know how to diagnose and repair your vehicle properly. Donald and Lance were about as nice as anyone can be and really will do whatever it takes to make sure things are done right and that your vehicle gets the services it needs. These guys here at Aamco will make you life long customers if you give them a try, I can guarantee it.
Highly recommend the professionals at the Fort Collins AAMCO. Lance demonstrated his expertise and experience while being polite and patient to source the performance parts needed for my car. Jimmy performed the repairs and reviewed the work with me to ensure the repairs meet or exceed the original equipment. The guys gained my complete confidence and I will be back with any future repairs.
Great service friendly staff fast and did a great job on my mustangs clutch the new one feels great
Thorough courteous. They find issues that others have missed. Straightforward and honest analysis of issues.
Integrity, honest, highly qualified are the best words to describe the people here. They go above and beyond. Spectacular service! Thank you.-Glen
These guys were professional, punctual, and resolved my car problems in less than 24 hours. Will definitely be returning in the future.
I will never go anywhere else! These guys are very thorough and still conscience of client financial limitations. There are not enough words to say how happy I am with the service I received!
These guys are the REAL DEAL!!!!!!! Quote it, fix it, and STICK TO THE QUOTE no matter what!!!! And they ( especially Lance) have the patience of Job, answering all my many questions . I am truly grateful to have found a place I can TRUST!!!!!updated! Seriously these folks have really saved my vehicles and me. Having older vehicles means things happen, clear communication with AAMCO helps solve the problem and I am back on the road:) Really happy to have a place that stands by their work and that takes care of things quickly and thoroughly.Once again, did a great job. Checked a question I had on the Blazer transmission and took care of the brakes:) Timely and well done, thanks AAMCO Fort Collins!
Very friendly! Honest about all the work they did. Been going to them for years.
No complaint. Had them mess up once causing me to have to bring it back the same day but they totally stand beside their work. They paid for a tow truck and fixed the issue. Strong integrity here. Won a lifetime client with that.
We took our truck there for a water pump replacement and they were beyond helpful. We needed it back same day to leave for a trip and they accommodated us with no problems, had it back by 3pm. Lance, John and Don were great to work with and I will be taking my second vehicle there next week for brakes. I highly recommend this shop.
The Fort Collins AAMCO is a highly skilled and honest vehicle repair shop. I have taken more than 20 vehicles there over the years, some with quite difficult-to-diagnose problems. The service has been timely, reliable, fair and accurate. Their Service Consultants are willing to take the time to explain the situation and the solution and to put it simply: they do what they say theyre going to do when they said they were going to do it. They get a A+ !!!
I have had nothing but great service from AAMCO in Fort Collins. They are always honest, trustworthy, and very reasonable. As an out of state student away from family, Todd and Lance have always been available to help me with any kind car trouble.
I took my car here to get a new computer system installed. The first time they did it, I drove my car home and it wouldnt start seconds after I got there. I was very upset about this because it was a very expensive repair. But When I called, they were very good about getting a tow out and fixing it correctly, no charge. Its been about 3 months since then, and Ive had no problem. Respectable people!
In my opinion the technicians at Aamco are a knowledgeable, quality group of guys who are always willing to go the extra mile for you. Whether youre perception of value is quality, affordability, or peace of mind (National warranty), you simply cant go wrong with these guys. They do tend to run a bit behind sometimes, probably due to being the busiest shop around, but its worth the wait. excellent value!!
These guys are amazing. Their availability worked great with my schedule, they were quick, and worked with me on the price. Id recommend them to anyone!
Todd, lance and the guys were honest, quick, and reliable. replaced my transmission in less then 2 days. thank you all
I have a 1991 S10 that has been giving us little fits about every 6-8 months other than that it still runs excellent. The team at aamco have been helping us with the issues and have never charged for diagnosis. and all the repairs have been very reasonably priced and this last time they actually found some shorted wiring and in doing so they took it upon themselves to separate the firewall and continue tracing wires and fixing all the wires that the mouse had eaten and the bill was under $200.I will be taking every vehicle I own (5) to them from now on. Thanks Team!!!!!
We are relatively new customers to Fort Collins AAMCO but all our repairs have been prompt, complete, accurate, and priced fairly. They have offered 2nd opinions on other shops recommendations and were honest with with assessments. We have old vehicles so things wear out. It can be stressful to trust your vehicle to a repair shop but Donald, Lance and the FC team can be trusted to do it right every time. We have been disappointed by other shops but never with AAMCO.
I had a free brake inspection on my 98 Toyota Tacoma while on a roadtrip through Fort Collins. They did a VERY thorough inspection and quoted me a huge repair bill. The mechanic (Dave) spent ten minutes under the truck going over every nut and bolt and explaining exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. He explained there werent any pressing safety issues and he didnt put any pressure on me to have them do the repair. 100% honest, comfortable environment. I would go back again.
Not only did they do an amazing job, the staff was more than courteous and helpful. They went out of their way to make sure my car was running in the best possible condition. They even fixed a problem that another mechanic had over-looked over a year ago. I will definitely be going back and recommend AAMCO to all of my friends.
Lance and team always provide amazing customer service, and I never feel taken advantage of. They explain the what and why of what they did. I highly recommend taking your car to AAMCO.
I dont review often, but these guys are worth telling about. I described my problem to them (and like so many of us, thought I had a partial diagnosis). They listened and took notes, and did a complete once-over on the car, looking at every system, not just the one that I thought was at fault. They called me later that day as they said they would, with what turned out to be a completely accurate diagnosis that was entirely different than what I thought was the problem. It turned out to be something simple enough for me to fix on my own, so I did that. For the 3-4 hours they spent thoroughly inspecting my car, they charged me exactly nothing, and sent me away smiling. I will definitely come back here in the future, and look forward to giving them business when the repairs needed exceed my capability.
I would give them negative stars, if I could.Go anywhere but to these guys. They are the worst.I went in for a clutch plate and throwout bearing replacement on an older truck. They tried to up-sell me on rebuilding the transmission (which was fine and was working perfectly.)When I got the truck back from them, the shifting was stiff, and not at all like it was before I took the truck to them. I lived with it for quite a while. I mentioned my grief with it, and someone told me that it was possible that the wrong transmission fluid was added to it.Sure enough, replacing the transmission fluid (at Valvoline Instant Oil Change) had the transmission running good as new. So the jerks at AAMCO went out of their way to sabotage my vehicle when I refused the unnecessary up-sell. Either that, or they are just negligent. Either way, there is no way I can recommend that anyone ever use this business.
