Always usually come see you guys every year from up in Wyoming with my best friend who comes up here from PA. Thank you for always the BEST chai and decade and a half of memories of me coming there and absolutely just feeling at home. Even when its busy it is peaceful and everyone that works here is so amazingly nice.
Great service great people. Lattes arent super sweet, food is good and well portioned. Plus lots of plugs for computers, book and games to use while just hanging. Love it.
Ive been going here for damn near 25 years. Its culture has changed a lot from when I was younger but it hasnt gotten worse it has just gotten more inclusive in my early years it was the internet cafe Id go to to bypass my moms restrictions on email as I grew up and as I started doing more it was the place Id go to to find friends and community Ive done a number of classes there for the various communities and Im a part of Ive done so much of my life exploration. When I started working with people for domestic violence its one of the places that I would go to unwind after work there is so much in this place that has been around for an age. The art by itself is worth it the staff is always friendly its got games and similar that you can play or you can bring your own and just engage random people its definitely more of a college hangout these days but you get some of us gray beards walking in now and again
I had not been into Alley Cats for many years. Decided to drop into it today. It was delightful! A quirky, cozy, warm, friendly place. Its been fully remodeled since I had last been there, which I say for people who like me remember it from decades ago, but it has retained its quirky charm of a one-of-a-kind place.
Absolutely love this place. Great place to study or socialize with friends. It has ton of character and a nice homey feel. The only few issues I have with it is how stuffy and hot it can get and how difficult it is to find seating at times. A must visit place if youre stopping in at foco unless you have a problem with crowded spaces.
I absolutely love this place and always will. However, lately some of the staff there has the attention span of a housefly. One day theyre open and friendly, and the next they dont even know you. The tall dark haired guy has maybe fallen off a ladder too many times and lacks the capacity to remember. Im always friendly and engaging, and I ALWAYS tip well. Be friendly to everyone, because you never know whos who.
Cool vibe...great music, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great selection of coffee drinks as well as smoothies and teas
Ive been coming in here almost every day for about 2 weeks to work on my online classes. Baristas are always really nice and coffee always comes fast. The only problem Ive had, if you can even call it that is the time someone took my latte instead of their soy one, they immediately made me a new one and gave me a coupon for a free coffee even though I insisted it was unnecessary. Great customer service, great coffee, great place to be.
Perfect for studying! Little tables with individual lights and plugs, great food/drinks, and friendly employees!
A bit of an odd location, but it adds to the character of the place. Definitely a place for younger people and students with a lot of people generally studying or hanging out as they have plenty of seating room. Coffee and food was really good and the staff was very friendly and I had some fun conversations with them. Definitely recommend
Ive been going to Alley Cat for years and have always had a great experience. Great vibes - I love the art and plants and could sit there for hours. The staff is always super friendly and the drinks are great (for sure recommend the red eye cat)
I cannot describe this place. It is wonderfully and beautifully made, with each ceiling tile representing individual artistic minds, the mosaic tile work on the bar reflecting the best Fort Collins has to offer, the mismatched furniture that reminds you of your favorite thrift store, and the aromatic lack of judgement, you are sure to enjoy your stay. The food is amazing for how simple they make it seem, and their coffee is one of the best Ive ever had. You wont be disappointed.
Really, really enjoyed this place. Cozy, warm, delicious coffee and cafe treats. They have adorable outdoor tables where you can sit with your dog while you sip. This place was quiet and clean and everyone was following covid protocol. We loved our drinks and would definitely return.
I have never written a negative review in my life but the service when I went to Alleycat for the first time just now was terrible. The baristas were very rude. I was at the front of the line for over 10 minutes with multiple baristas behind the counter and they made eye contact with me multiple times without saying a word and just leaving me hanging. I was treated like my patronage was an inconvenience.
Great coffee/espresso, and love the venue/location. Super homey, and they stay open fairly late, although not 24 hrs like they used to. Also have a great pastry selection, which is different every day, and are super tasty. I ❤️ Alleycat.
Awesome coffe, took care of me when I was having payment issues. Will definitely be back
Stopped in here my first day in town, been back every day since lol.Love the vibe, the baristas are great and so is the coffee and baked goods!Recommend the blueberry oat bar mmmm
Parking is weird and the streets dont go through, otherwise neat location on top of a restaurant with beautiful murals on all the buildings around there. Decent coffee, open early.
Cool place. Welcoming of everyone, so needless to say there are homeless people later at night. But good food. Good staff.
This is the only coffeeshop open after 6pm at the moment which is incredibly helpful, however, getting any work done (if thats what you came to do) after 7pm is extremely difficult because suddenly it becomes a night club. Im all for loud music - and the music here is part of what makes this place fun and different, but it gets so loud the table and chairs vibrate and its hard to hear your own thoughts let alone focus on school/work. I appreciate the fun, loud environment but lately its become a bit overwhelming for a place where people are sitting down and talking/studying/working. Maybe this is just a personal thing and I should find a different place to study, but if you need to really tune in to work or school late at night its become increasingly hard to do so here. Ive tried using noise-cancelling headphones as well but those dont really help with the violently vibrating floors, chairs, tables, and walls.
Very cute, quaint little coffee shop and a great place to get work done. The mud room offers an area for a dog friendly space, or there are little tables and chairs outside to keep your pooch at too. The coffee was great and their bagels are amazing too. The staff was very friendly and helpful . Overall i really like this place
Cool laid back grunge yum friendly coffee shop 24 hours
I love this place, but the guy with mid-length hair has terrible customer service skills. Just needed a straw and he rudely pointed out that it was in front me already, I apologized and he just scoffs. Everybody is so sweet, then he comes along making me and probably others uncomfortable.
I have traveled much of America and in my travels I have never found a better coffee shop than this one. Ive driven 16+ hours from Salt Lake City Utah just to prove to a friend that this is the best coffee shop out there. That friend told me it was well worth the drive. So if you are reading reviews asking yourself should I try this coffee shop? The answer is YES 100% you should.
Great coffee and a chill environment. Chat, work, read, or just stare at the cool ceiling tiles. 🙂
Stopped at Alleycat as I was driving through cross country and needed some late night coffee. I got a red eye, and it was delicious. The guy working was super nice and I loved the space - wish I had more time to stop and hang out here.
What a fun and funky coffee shop. I love how cozy it feels and how it’s always packed with students studying! The art is so unique and you could look at it forever. I always get a red eyed cat when I go!
Horrible experience with gossip there. When I posted original review, owner referenced only second hand backbiting and gaslit my experience.Never have had an issue like that anywhere else.Went there to meet new people months back. I don’t drink and I like late night coffee shops. People were mostly friendly. I gave my number out to some folks, male and female unobtrusively and detachedly. Met some cool people. Went to dinner with friends I made there. Had a lot of great conversations with different people, and wanted to be a regular.I’ll admit I’m an emotionally intense guy, but very friendly. I was hopeful to meet someone and transparent about that. I asked one barista out once, as she gave me her phone number to meet up. But didn’t pursue things when it seemed she wasn’t interested anymore. Mischaracterized by the staff. The baristas backbited to the owner about me. The owner banned me never asking my perspective. Called him once to have an adult conversation and consult about any misunderstanding. He never called back. Was never interested in hearing my perspective then trolled my when I posted a poor review. When I posted this, the owner responded defensively— insinuated an attack on me, referencing only the second hand gossip. I have been a regular at multiple different coffee shops and have never been treated with such deference and disrespect.Literally, bullying from the baristas and then gaslighting about it; of someone who was looking to fit in in a new community. To the owners credit, he at least seemed oblivious to his role placating that. Although he never sought to understand what actually happened. I want to reiterate, I’ve never had an experience like this before anywhere. Which is why I tend to think it wasn’t a “me issue” outside of my subjectivity. It really bothers me to write this. I reflected on this for months— as it was somewhat traumatic. It just seemed unjust. I wish nothing but the best for them, but you shouldn’t treat people that way just because they are different than you.
This place is odd. The coffee is good and they have plenty of unique drinks that are good too. I think you mostly come here for the atmosphere though. Lots of weird art and cool paintings on the ceiling. Its always really busy which can make your coffee take longer than other places.
What can I say, the Caramel, Hazelnut & Vanilla cappuccino was amazing. The best I have ever had. 5 stars for this specialty drink.
Such a great place! I love getting the berry blast herbal tea and getting lost in a good story here.
I don’t think they actually do take out… I called and asked to make a take out order and was told they don’t do to go orders and was hung up on. 😐
This was a pretty cool spot! Its got a somewhat obscure entry way, you can either go through a restaurant or up an unmarked stairwell in the alley. They were playing good music and both baristas on duty were super positive. I enjoyed a redeye and my friend had a delicious herbal tea. Their tea selection is on point! I also enjoyed the art and general atmosphere of the place. Definitely recommending and coming back!
The toffee latte is so good.
Love it. Their house blend is one of the best i have had if you enjoy true flavor. Straight. Ice toddy, heavy metal, espresso, Americano, all excellent.
As a coffee shop it wasnt great... Only one size coffee and only average quality. Havent tried anything else there though so cant comment on anything else on the menu. Staff was really nice though!
Its a really nice atmosphere and thier drinks are amazing!
Amazing place. Great music, great atmosphere, great coffee, great baristas, this coffee shop is the closest to perfection that Ive found and its my favorite coffee shop in the world.
The cutest little coffee shop I ever did see! This is my favorite of all the college town coffee shops Ive tried. The artwork inside and people create the best ambiance. You can go, order drinks/light food, and literally just play games for hours. We loved it (also the sugar cookie latte is the BOMB.)
While the Chai may be really good the customer service is AWFUL. Waited to place an order for several minutes with no one at the bar, and then barista was just cranky.
Classic FoCo experience. Piercings, art, excellent food/drink, the occasional costume, and always nice people.
The best coffeshop experience ever!!!
Best cappuccinos in town! Very peaceful in the mornings, definitely exciting at night. It is amazing to watch the staff get out the drinks so fast. Definitely glad that one of my friends brought me here, I wish I had known about this place sooner.
Great food, fantastic atmosphere, kind staff.
Its been about... 11 or so years since Ive been here. Im super, super happy the place hasnt changed one bit. Still has the chill as heck atmosphere, and the staff are still super down to earth too. Glad this place is still here, and still carries that same vibe that I really synced with. Seriously, keep it up folks!
No cats and no worries! Everyone at the cafe was a cool cat. Conor is delightful employee and rightfully informed me that there were no cats on the premises.
Very hip joint with great coffee and kambucha on tap!
This is one of my favorite coffee shops because its open 24 hours a day with free wi-fi. They brew the coffee fresh each cup, which can slow things down sometimes but it doesnt matter because the whole ceiling is covered with art from the customers. Mornings are quiet and that is when I prefer to go, but evenings are full of younger people. They make fresh ginger brew, their own chai tea, hummus and even soy milk from scratch. The clientele is varied but I like that.
Great coffee and dog friendly .
We literally waited an hour for our two drinks as our burritos got soggy and cold. They were impossible to pick up and the staff could not even provide a fork. Not worth the crowd, the wait, or the food.
I cannot tell you how amazing the vibe is here. People hanging out with their instruments, people studying, people working, people visiting, its for everyone. The playlist they had going was also memorable in how extremely good and unique it was. I almost wanted to ask what station they were playing so i could look it up for myself!I cant wait to go back here. Oh, and I love that its open so late too. Saw a couple of backpackers coming through probably 10 pm...like I said, its a place for everyone!
Great aesthetic with local art on the ceiling and walls. Excellent Americano.
Hands-down my favorite coffeeshop to hang out at. Love everything about it, from the unique art to the wonderful menu.
Im torn on rating. Great tasting coffee. But asked for an 8oz Cappucino and got a 16oz cup - not full, but way more than 8oz. Barrista was nice. Place is huge. Mask use was limited among customers even if not eating, (Larimer Cty is rolling back Covid restrictions soon). Anyway, mixed experience; would try again.
Cool spot, to bad its infested with commies
Always a great time!
I went there for some late night coffee after driving for a while and preparing to drive a while more. The vibe is really nice and the day I went there was live music just wrapping up. Baristas like: I’ll get you the most caffeine you’ll ever have in your life. I’m like: cool can I have that but at about 70%. Best drink I’ve honestly had in a while (if I remember correctly, it was a shot espresso in ice coffee on top of brown sugar and honey with a splash of half and half). Great place, definitely go there for the vibes.
A beautiful and space space. People are playing the guitar or doing homework or talking about social justice. The food and coffee is good, and definitely try one of their steamers. The atmosphere here is immaculate
The barista was incredibly friendly and helpful. She offered suggestions and I really enjoyed my time there!
Just picked up iced coffee drinks to go but hope to eat in one day, too.
What a cool place! It has lots of quiet booths where you can enjoy your drink or visit with a friend. The atmosphere is fun and the staff was helpful and friendly.
Fun hangout coffee shop. Good drink offerings
Great experience all around.
Delicious bean and leaf juice! Staff is always friendly and knows how to make a mean brew:D The atmosphere and decor are unsurpassed of any coffee house Ive been too thus far! Thx for being awesome Alley Cat 🐱
Great spot to study and grab a nice snack. Chai shake is great and so is the asiago spinach bagel I would go there frequently to get both but recently had a bad experience there. I ordered an asiago spinach bagel when they were quite busy and understaffed (one girl was working on maybe 20 orders). It took about 20 minutes to get my order and upon taking the bagel back to my car I came to find out it was some kind of spicy bagel. It was really upsetting considering I have no idea what was in that bagel and I have allergies and considering the long time I waited for it. I took it back to the cafe and asked if, because of how busy it was, I could just get the correct bagel loose and I would be out of their hair. The employee said she grabbed what looked most like asiago and that she would check in the back for the right one. She came back and told me they didn’t have any. Why did she sell it to me then? No refund offered and I had to throw out the bagel I had. It should be noted that this usually does not happen great service is typical and I would still recommend this shop to anyone but maybe be weary of ordering if they are understaffed.
Super cute, great atmosphere, and the ginger tea is god tier
Amazing spot but make sure you find a place to sit before ordering. Usually crowded and they will legit sell you a $20 plate of food for dine in and then tell you to leave because there aren’t any tables left.. hope this is helpful to someone!
I enjoyed this place. Very chill atmosphere and good drinks. The food looked good too but I didnt order any
Best breakfast burritos!!!! Very relaxed atmosphere, was able to sit and talk with a friend for awhile.
Get the chai. Or anything else really. Great place to chill and its locally owned.
Very welcoming atmosphere. Cant wait to come back here for some late night study seshes!
Best place to study, great price, and ambiance.
My most favorite coffee shop. Its so nice, clean, chill, and relaxing to be in. Love the fact that its open really late too! Good service and nice people!
Love the owner hunter he made the ally cat really a wonderful place and I always love the drinks and staff. great place to grab something quick or to meet up with friends.
Love this place! ❤
Just a vibe of a place.awesome
Very cozy place to go get a coffee or tea. I have been here twice. We sat outside along the walk because we are not spending time Indoors in restaurants yet.
The Alleycat is a home away from home! I spend many-a-morning here working and the staff greets me when I walk in, checks in as I while away the hours on my laptop, and wishes me a good day when I finally do depart. But this isnt specific to me - they treat everyone like family. Its a community space that is warm, inviting, cozy, and beautiful. As a freelancer, Ive spent much of my adult life in coffee shops. I have never had better than the Alleycat. Thank you all! And thank you for your kind words and van life moral support, Peter!
Terrible. The baristas, if you can even call them that, have no idea what they are doing. One drink was so hot it tasted like charcoal, and the other was hardly even luke warm. Theres definitely ben some changes here and its not for the better. Bread is perpetually stale despite being made in house. If theres a tall, dark and curly haired barista behind the bar, just walk away IMMEDIATELY.Customer service 1/10Drinks 0/10
Vibes= immaculatemusic= tastefulcoffee/tea= wowart= dreamyswag.
Used to hang out here a lot but it became too overpriced and overcrowded. I wish them well. Meow.
Always delightful 😊! I love the chi! Its the best!
Place was as packed as times allow. Vibe is hipster coffeehouse but nice and not overpriced. Quality of coffee+size = value!
My FAVORITE baristas in town by far! Not to mention the BEST coffee, food, and atmosphere. AlleyCat will never be overrated to me!
Used to be amazing (5 stars) when open 24/7 - now only open till 2 a.m. So just *kind of * amazing. ....It used to be true beatnik, more counterculture - it does still have that vibe -to be fair, these neoliberal times do have a way of getting under the skin of even to the best of us. Still, I am a vocal proponent of the 24-hour solution.
They have some incredibly smooth coffee. The kind you just wish you could sit with a good book and read all day. It would be big trouble if they were slightly closer to my home Id visit more often. With a few pretty good vegan options to boot!
