I dont know how this place has so many good reviews. The breakfast burritos are super onion-y, with hardly any meat (and yet they are sure to charge you extra for meat). I always regret going here. Any of the other local coffee shops in Old Town are better.
Great location. Great food. I had a delicious tomato avocado bacon sandwich. Good selection of drinks if you dont drink coffee like me. Friendly staff to boot.
Best cup of coffee in Fort Collins. The Jazzy Java is utterly amazing!
Wonderful local coffee shop in the heart of old town.
Ive been to dozens of coffee shops looking for a chai that blows me away, FOUND IT! The sweet and spicy chai is life changing, well maybe thats going too far. Still its worth the effort to stop by and try it. They have great, made to order breakfast and lunch items too.
My husband and I used to come here for coffee when we were walking in Old Town or on dates. Today was the first day we’ve come in since the remodel and I LOVED the atmosphere. Super cute and such a warm and inviting space. I had an amazing americano too. Better than my usual favorites from chains in town. An older gentleman told me that he is a regular and that the baristas make it feel like family to him. This place is definitely back on my radar!
Awesome place! The location is great. Usually plenty of seating when I come by. Perfect for studying. I like to order their grilled cheese sandwiches. 😋
I think there are good things about Mugs, and then a few less-than-great things.First, Im a bit confused about their Daily Happy Hour from 3-6. I came at 4:30 and asked for a grilled cheese sandwich (listed on the Happy Hour menu) and I was told that the kitchen is never open past 3. I pointed out the Happy Hour bit of the menu and the poor, apologetic cashier seemed just as confused as I was. This isnt the first, or even the second, time that Ive been told that the food I wanted to order was unavailable for one reason or another :-(Ive been looking at some of the other more recent reviews, and I agree with what some people have been saying about the sub-par customer service. Im not saying that absolutely everyone here is a bad worker, but Im sure there are plenty of friendly and hard-working college students who would love to work at Mugs. How do they end up with all of these workers who have trouble even cracking a smile?Otherwise, Mugs is one of the more comfortable coffee lounges to spend time in. They have plenty of outlets spread around and their drinks are always good. The art from local artists hanging on the walls is very pretty and its awesome that theyre supporting local artists. There are several nice pieces that are available to buy. There are also some pretty tasty looking things to eat in their front cooler area, but it never seems like they have the same food day after day, so you cant really count on being able to order something one day that you just ordered a week ago. That said, there seems to be a pretty good selection on the weekends.Id say give Mugs a shot and judge it for yourself! The owners have created a very comfortable and aesthetically appealing coffee shop and they clearly know what theyre doing when it comes to coffee. I consider Mugs to definitely be one of the better places in FoCo to go to study, hang out with friends, or just grab a drink. Might want to grab lunch beforehand, though :-)
Great vibe and good cappuccino. Customer service was excellent too!
Yummy gluten free choices!! Had the Bacon, lettuce Avacado tomato sandwich on a gluten free bagel and it was amazing!!
Thanks for being an anchor in Old Town. Ive been around to watch Mugs grow and grow and its been fun. The variety of offerings including locally sourced products is wonderful. Thank you!
Breakfast sandwiches and breakfast burritos are worth every penny. The coffee and specialty drinks are fresh and delicious. I look forward to going back!
We found this gem while looking for a place to get coffee and a quick bite to eat and we werent disappointed at all with what they offered. Egg, bacon and cheese croissant and homemade raspberry toaster pastry with hot chocolate and a caramel/vanilla coffee. Sooo yummy. Our new favorite breakfast place. Small area, but laid back and comfy.
Great coffee shop! We ordered our breakfast for pickup the next morning as we had an early flight out of Denver. It was absolutely delicious, ready on time, and was very convenient to pickup.
Honestly a wonderful lounge, employees are great and always a joy to talk to. Definitely a nice atmosphere and a fun place to hang out on the patio during a nice day.
Mugs simply cant be beat for the best coffee in town! Its my go to spot, I’m often there multiple times per week. The sweet chai with a shot of espresso is simply divine. The espresso almost has a chocolately-ness to it which I love. Also try the banana bread or cinammon roll, you wont be disappointed. Thanks for the friendly service and for being a consistently fire local cafe!
Love their sweet chai latte
Such an amazing local coffee shop! Their drinks and food are super delicious and the atmosphere is very relaxing. Id definitely recommend going here if youre ready to escape the clutches of corporate coffee shops like Starbucks 😁
Bagel and lox had great toppings on a terrible bagel. Coffee was good
Awesome... Luvd the muffins and a great workspace too! 🙌☕
Still requiring masks. Im not going in. A sincere apology from the owner would be the only thing that brings me back.
Mugs is the perfect city coffee shop. They have great food options, the coffee is great, the staff is super friendly, and the seating and Covid protocols are well thought out.
Very good social distancing without being too restrictive (you can still dine in!) good vegan options. Good place to study! The baristas were so helpful and nice:)
Great service fast quick sandwich options and breakfast burritos
Avocado toast and coffee was great. But there was loud drunk company on the patio.
Great vegan and vegetarian options. Great coffee
Not as cozy as pre-remodel, but its still one of the best places in town. Love their jazzy java.
Fresh and delicious! Staff was very friendly even though it was early in the morning!
Mugs failed big today for us. The website is cumbersome, so I called to order after 2 tries. The woman who answered the phone said Can you hold a sec? Thinking she was getting a pen, I said yes. Apparently she needed longer, so 6 minutes later I hung up. They didnt toast the bread under my Eggs Benedict, put sausage on it without asking, and packed all of our food in big plastic packages. Even the to go OJ was in a plastic cup with a bulky plastic lid. I am not going back. Absolutely no need for giant plastic containers that we can.ot recycle. In summary, this place was out of touch with customers They have been a fave for a long time, it was a disapointment.
The staff is always super friendly! Best matcha latte in FoCo! And the veggie chorizo burritos are perfect for those “oops I’m late to work but still gotta eat” mornings😅💞
Favorite new quick breakfast in old town!
Ive been here 4 times now, and of the 3 americanos and 1 latte Ive ordered, theyve all been perfect. So was the breakfast burrito I sprung for once. Theyre doing a great job handing COVID restrictions and keeping up service. Plus, the atmosphere inside is just beautiful. Take a look at the gorgeous blue ceilings next time youre in.
Fantastic coffee shop! Stopped by whole driving through town and got their jazzy coffee and freshly made breakfast sandwich and both were incredible!
Best breakfast burritos in all of Fort Collins. I got a vegetable burrito. Wondrously delicious. Friendly staff that’s trying so hard to keep everyone safe during the pandemic.
Great place to get a caffeine fix adjacent to the Armstrong Hotel. Love the wrap that has feta cheese, spinach and sundried tomatoes (cant remember the name of that wrap, its vegetarian!?). Homemade brownies are perfect for packing in a backpack and storing for a day trip. Mugs can be busy with tables hard to find earlier in the day, but the positive buzz that fills the space even when its full is contagious. Awesome place to start the day!
I got the Snowshoe special drink and based on all of the promised flavors I expected it to be overpoweringly sweet, but it was surprisingly well balanced with delicious coffee shining through it all. A+, 10/10, excellence
This is my first visit in a long time. I am very impressed with the changes and the coffee! My daughter and I have been visiting different coffee spots in town on our regular dad and daughter coffee mornings and this was our spot this time, especially because they are one of the only places open before 7am downtown. The layout is great and it feels spacious with plenty of seating. The parking situation could be challenging if you are not here early, since it is downtown street parking. The service was good, but not impressive. I ordered coffee and there were four different flavors available. I liked the Jazzy Java, but decided on the Guatemala blend which was amazing! Refills are 50 cents and it is better to have cash for that since they dont let you pay less than $1 with a card. The tables are really nice and I especially appreciate the solid wood table tops in the back and the way they use them for decoration in other areas of the shop. There are food options, but it seemed that the breakfast burritos werent ready until closer to 7am. What a great place to come for coffee in the morning and I will definitely be back!
How is it that someone is hired to be a barista and yet they don’t understand the basic, yet pertinent, concept that an espresso shot expires after just seven or so seconds? If you doubt that there is a difference once the shot oxidizes, try it for yourself. No matter where I get my coffee, I always order the same way; “poured over steamed almond milk”. I cringe when I watch the shots sitting sadly while the “barista” gets the milk....pours it into the frothing pitcher....then puts the milk away......goes back to steam the milk........... pours the milk into the cup..........then finally adds what I already know will be bitter, acidic-tasting dead espresso. Ugh! That was my coffee experience at Mugs.On top of this, I ordered a bagel sandwich...toasted.Do you think this looks toasted or burnt??Ick.
I dont write many reviews but for Mugs, the people that make this coffee house so special & for how they do it, Id like to say Thank you. Youve made a much appreciated refuge in the storms that life can sometimes allow. Always warm on cold winter nights. Always cool on hot summer days. Always safe, comforting & lovely. You do make a difference. Youve created exactly where one can just be. I hope that has been given back to you all tenfold. Enjoy.P.S. Ive moved from Ft Collins but that feeling has stayed with me.Smiles & Gratitude.
Great drink. Fun, delicious latte flavors. Baked goods were fresh and delicious as well.
Mugs has been around for a looong time and they never disappoint! Super friendly staff, great coffee, and food.
Great people. Great coffee. Great food.
Lovely laid back atmosphere. Lots of food and drink options on the menu. Everyone here is very FRIENDLY!
Cute, charming place
Friendly people and good coffee!
Great local spot for a caffeine fix! No indoor dining at this time but there is ample outdoor seating. Also, gluten free bread is completely to die for, so soft and delicious!
Love this place. Exceptional staff there to navigate you through a full menu of drinks and breakfast foods. Their burritos...yummo!
The coffee is great its freshly ground, the owners and the staff are amazing
HIGHLY recommend the pumpkin latte with oat milk and half sweet. Yum. Had it at both the old town and the oval locations and were exactly the same and delicious.
Great coffee & atmosphere. I love the teas.
Always a great cup of coffee and really exceptional customer service makes Mugs my go to coffee shop in Old Town Fort Collins.
Mugs is open again! Hooray! We are really impressed by how Mugs reopened — the online ordering, friendly and quick curbside service, etc! They have a delicious food menu and their coffee always hits the spot — love anything iced from them on these warm days!
Excellent coffee! Try the Jazzy Java!
Great coffee and breakfast burritos. Very competent staff. Friendly locals. Awesome vibe. Best coffee shop in Fort Collins.
Lovely lil coffee shop in the heart of busy Old Town FoCo. Good drink selection & tasty baked goods!
I’m happy to have stumbled across this particular spot. The staff is always friendly and the atmosphere is warm. This place has been an excellent spot for me to enjoy tea and complete hours upon hours of computer work.
Thank you for being awesome!
I LOVED mugs a month ago. It had an incredible cute coffee shop vibe. amazing basement seating for studying and relaxing. An abundance of seating upstairs as well. Then they remodeled. Im so disappointed in the new design. Made to look sleek walls of gray and added a bar? A bar in a coffee shop? Removed downstairs seating and much of the seating on the main level as well. Used to be a great place to see local art and artists. I used to go nearly every day for a cup of my favorite coffee, have meetings and lunches there. Now I will be finding elsewhere to give my business.
Good coffee. Comparable to Starbucks and human bean.
Our go-to coffee stop anytime we’re in town. The expansion has dramatically increased the sitting space if you’d like to stay awhile; the coffee, food and baked goods are fantastic. Our only regret is that we don’t live closer!
Awesome smoothies! Not big on caffeine so no coffee for me. Really nice environment to work (I took my laptop). Get a smoothie and add the almond butter!
With the new remodel and updated menu, the Mugs in Old Town has become an even better place to work, eat, and meet! The decor is calming and classy, and the lunch and breakfast items offer a gourmet touch on classic sandwiches and salads. The coffee and pastries carry over as a great value for the quality.Ive had a few of the new lunch items and can highly recommend the Roast Beast and the Benoit. They also have a killer Bloody Mary for those looking for a different kind of midday pick-me-up ;)Overall, excited to see what the dinner menu for the new expansion will entail! I sincerely recommend this place as a standard of Old Town dining and community.
Great coffee
What a wonderful community place, great selection good coffee and a fun atmosphere.
Tried this for the first time and its DELICIOUS!!!
The baristas at the Old town Mugs location are always friendly and they make excellent Mexican mochas (my fav)! For a coffee shop they seem to not have a high turn over of employees and I always see the regulars (customers). That is always a sign of not only a good coffee shop but a great place to hang out. Keep on being excellent Mugs coffee lounge!!!
Peaceful settings, friendly staff and delicious food!
This was one of the first places I went to after I moved to Ft Collins many years ago, and its still my favorite coffee spot. Theres something about the energy that allows creativity to flow and time to disappear.
Great coffee, nicely prepared food and awesome staff!
Best breakfast burrito in Fort Collins by a country mile! Mugs is our go to when our kiddos wake up on the wrong side of the bed. Great coffee and great people-- what else could you ask for!?
Seemed pretty over priced; 4.25 for a tasteless caramel macchiato, & I am not sure if their handheld breakfast burritos are really $12 but that’s crazy if so. Staff was not friendly and did not let me change my coffee order less than 1 minute after ordering. And, not saying I got food poisoning from here as there is a bunch of nasty stuff going around but ate a muffin & 1 hr later had to go home due to vomiting & the dreaded D. As I new to town I hate to assume all food is overpriced & somewhat bland as that has been my experience. It did seem cozy though
Had a great experience, we stopped in as out of towners and felt very much at home there. The coffee is also very good.
Great sandwiches, a place to sit outdoor, live music and central location.
Best drip coffee in town.
On vacation and was passing through Fort Collins. We love to go to local coffee shops wherever we travel. We had coffee and delicious sandwiches for lunch here. Friendly helpful service. Great coffee (I had a cold press) my husband had a yummy blended tea. If you are in Fort Collins - you need to stop by here :)
Coffee, food, snacks are all great, everything is reasonably priced and has great flavor. However, customer service is lacking. I know its just a coffee shop, but you still have to say hello to your customers and not just stare at them blankly waiting for them to order.
Absolutely amazing place to go for coffee. I live in Denver and have made the 1.4 hour drive to Fort Collins simply to take my friends to be this shop. It has a perfect atmosphere for college students, with an underground hang out with a conference room should privacy be needed. Coffee and food served is great for any fellow coffee shop addict.
I was recommended Mugs while in town and it was great. They were super busy, yet still fast. The staff was awesome and friendly. The drink was on point and delicious, and muffin was equally as good. I definitely would recommend it now too!
Fantastic spot! Fort Lox is especially delectable. My only suggestion would be to ask for refills at register in the initial transaction. I routinely forget to purchase a refill with my coffee. Good way to avoid additional merchant costs on small transactions.
Mugs is very accommodating and friendly! Great beverages and food, plenty of space. Look forward to returning soon with our board game group.
Mugs is a great place with a great friendly staff, sitting outside and enjoying old Town Fort Collins is the best!
Very cute and comfy coffee shop. Not too busy for a weekend morning. My coffee was great. They didnt have a lot of special diet options, which surprised me, but they did have a lot of options on their food and coffee menu. Nice place, will visit again.
The remodel is great and the food and coffee always stellar, but it’s a shame that every time I’ve been in since the remodel really poor customer service has occurred. No smile, no greeting, no you’re welcome. It’s the holidays and it’s busy so I get it, but it’s part of the job.
Drinks are great and their breakfast is high quality
Mugs is great I came here to have a job meeting a couple years back and was surprised that I didnt know about it. I come in whenever i get the chance; its in a great location with motorcycle parking. The coffee is always delicious and the shop has an easy going vibe.
I visit this place at least once every month for breakfast. Fast and wonderful service. Croissants and capuchino Is the best combination
Its fine! Good coffee. Ive been three times and Ive gotten three breakfast burritos, and each time the potatoes were undercooked to the point of being inedible. Not sure why my experience is so different from everyone elses. The drink list is great and the ambiance is decent. Not one of my favorite spots, but just fine for a pop-in.
Love my mugs stop. They staff are friendly, knowledgeable, quick, and efficient. It’s also a nice place to have coffee, a quick snack, and read a book.
Good food, though I couldnt really hear the name s being called and my drink was taken by someone else. They replaced it no problem, just not ideal.
Love the staff and they have delicious coffee. Nice calm environment to sit down and enjoy your coffee in
Chill local coffee company, delicious coffee and friendly baristas. Their old town location features a downstairs area big enough to host meetings and quiet enough to hide and study. Tasty eats and fresh beats, what more could you want?
