I have an old 20 shamrock pilothouse. I do all my own service and this time when i pulled the prop shaft i discovered that it had crevice corrosion and pitting in the cutlass bearing area. Even though a repair was technically possible Zak explained that it just wasnt cost efficient to do it on a 1 shaft. Zak also recommended another company that would be able to manufacture a replacement quickly. Its not often you get to talk to people that know their stuff and are happy to point you in the right direction. One day I hope to own a yacht instead of a dinghy and when i do i know where to go.
