This was our second time visiting Love Boat in 10 years: the first time was within a couple of days of when we got married and the second time was just after our 10th wedding anniversary when we were visiting Ft. Myers Beach once again.This was, flat out, the *BEST* sundae I have ever had...with no exceptions. They were completely okay with me making a substitution which made what I ordered that much better, which was appreciated.Check out the pictures of the Reeses Sundae that I ordered ( peanut butter, hot fudge, Reeses Peanut Butter Cups and cookie dough ice cream in lieu of vanilla, which was the substitution I had requested ) and you can see why this place gets the high marks that it does. Fantastic !P.S. -- We went in mid-October, 2021 and there were no mask or vaccination requirements to enter this establishment.P.P.S. -- My wife and I stopped again today and I had the cone shown in the attached picture ( Cinnamon Caramel Pecan ). Good *LORD* was it amazing !!

The best local ice cream. The cut the fudge brownie right out of the pan it was baked in. Very fresh. You can get a brownie sundae larger than this. 3 scoops of icecream on the small. WOW

Wow, delicious creamy (and textured) ice cream. Worth the wait on any day. The only thing I would improve is the menu design inside. I feel there’s room for improvement to better (visually) present all the great flavors they have.

A HUGE selection of Ice cream creations. The shop has a cute 50s dinner theme, with a cute sweet-treat twist. The ice cream is very delightful. A creamy base with lots of candy options, swirls, and/or combos. I would definitely recommend a stop here for a sweet treat. The sizes range from kids to multiple large scoops in cup or cones.Enjoy!

Lots of flavors to choose from, all we tried were excellent. Small cup is 3 generous scoops - next time, maybe Ill try a kid cup 😊

So I was coming back from a restaurant with family, and we decided to get some ice-cream here. Ive been coming for years, and as always, it was amazing! I had a vanilla milkshake, and it was superb! Check this place out if you have the time!

Ice Cream was fabulous, but outside it was so hot my waffle cone 2 scoops were melting faster than I could keep up. Had to go directly home to change my shirt and take a shower. My advice is order your ice cream in a cup and eat it inside. Been living here for over 5 years and this is my maiden voyage on the love boat.

I’m from liberal California where wearing a mask is assumed and not a task. It’s sad that in the middle of a pandemic, people here are downvoting this place because they were asked to wear a mask and the staff are pretty firm about it. This specific location actually had a COVID outbreak and they had to shut down for a while. This is why. They have the right to require masks or refuse service to anyone.Amazing ice cream. Got the banana split and black and white sundaes. Also highly recommend the chocolate brownie batter. Staff was great and friendly. Highly recommend this place if you can wear a mask. If you can’t, just go somewhere that doesn’t care and make sure you don’t catch COVID in the process.

LoveBoat have been around forever. Best homemade ice cream in all of SWFL. Great customer service. This location is the ORIGINAL ♡ redone of course, it use to be little janky hole in the wall with dirt parking out back. Just a fabulous place for a first date, for kids, for any occasion really. Came today after having not been here in 7 years and it’s still has that great cozy feeling and the ice cream is still top notch!! Just keep your mask on you’ll be good. People of all ages come here clearly they are just being cautious (:

I went to the Sanibel location of Love Boat previously, and when my dad and I were in the FM area and craving some dessert, we knew there was a different Love Boat nearby and our decision was already made. Safe to say, our sweet craving and most satisfied! The workers here were really friendly, and I got the kiddy waffle cone which comes with two scoops, because I learned from my other time that the waffle cone comes with *4* scoops of ice cream- it’s magnificent but sooo much, so I wanted a little less this time. The Oatmeal Cream Pie is by far my favorite flavor here, it really is fantastic but they have so many other flavors that sound really good too. There’s a couple locations in Fort Myers and the Sanibel one but that’s all so take your chance if you can! I’m just so impressed by the Love Boats because I did not expect them to be that great, maybe just another ice cream place like so many of them but they have found a way to stand out so props to them!

I cant remember ever having ice cream this delicious! Only authentic Italian gelato can beat this place. I questioned our server, Whats a large? - 6 scoops. So I ordered a small - 3 scoops, in a chocolate dipped waffle cone. I wasnt sure whether I would finish having just come from lunch. Oh boy was I wrong. I had the cookie dough (huge chunks of cookie dough) topped with 1 scoop brownie swirl. Simply divine.

Requires masks for children under two. Absolutely rude about it. Babies can’t wear them. If it’s a requirement at least be nice. Several people outside complaining no worries we all relocated to a different ice cream shop. It was delicious time to rethink your policy! Possibly retrain employees to be KIND. So you need an ice cream fix and 31 factory made flavors just arent enough....then the Love Boat is a must if youre looking for decadent homemade flavor, texture and taste.Locals and tourists alike will wait in line patiently for a scoop or more of heaven.A perfect place to stop on the way home from the beach. Portions are quite large and the prices are reasonable.Be sure to sign one of the 50 guest books while there. (One book for each state.)

This old fashioned ice cream parlor has so many different flavors and varieties that you can go there every day and never have the same combination. I went to the San Carlos Blvd location to make a delivery. I walked in to see happy families enjoy their ice cream and the awesome atmosphere! I was greeted by Kyrstin who was so kind and helpful (the menu is extensive)! Theres truly something for everyone here! She made me a custom order-I told her to surprise me, Lol! The ice cream was amazing! Because of her incredible customer service, we wil be back! Im sure all the staff is just as great because they all looked like they loved their job! Well done Love Boat! Amazing place! Has become a tourist destination as well. Come hungry as even the small portions are large. Expect a reasonable wait in line almost always but especially in the evenings. Very much worth the wait for the ice cream and experience.

This place has an amazing selection of fresh creamy ice cream. At the moment, there is only outdoor seating available but plenty of indoor seating is in place to be re-opened. The inside is charming and inviting. I enjoyed the French raspberry in a cone and my wife enjoyed the chocolate chunk and black cherry flavor. Portions are generous so come hungry.

My boyfriend and I forgot our masks. We knew there was a possibility we might be asked to leave which I understand.But when we walked in the staff at the front was SO incredibly rude. Some places offer masks if you forget and we asked if they had any. The girl told us to leave with the most sassy attitude. I will never go back after being treated that way.

The number of different flavors of ice cream they have was incredible. I had a smores sundae and I must say it was the best sundae I have had since I moved here to Florida 5 years ago! Its a 45 minute drive for me and I will definitely be back! Inside was clean and staff was fast and friendly.

This is the best Love Boat ice cream location. They replaced my kids cone when he dropped it outside twice. I appreciate the team members, even the young employees, professionalism when dealing with selfish people who do not understand mask wearing is out of respect for other people. Can you imagine being a grown adult thinking it is acceptable behavior to yell at 17 year olds for enforcing a mask policy they did not set. Their ice cream options are really great too!

Great place. Very busy. We used to have our favorite up North and this was pretty close in quality and taste to that. The quantity was also very nice. A large IS large for sure. We will be back.

Amazing.*Here’s the thing* if you go here, *you’re not getting ice cream*. From open to close, day and night, 7 days a week, there’s a line 75 people deep. The line wraps back and forth and back and forth and back and forth inside, and then the line goes out the door and around the building. Average wait time for your chance, 45 minutes.Hope you have time to kill.

This ice cream is so good! The list of flavors is dizzying and each one we have tried is delicious. My favorite is a scoop of vanilla combined with a scoop of lemon custard. Lemon ice cream is very hard to find snd this is the best version ever. My husband likes chocolate chip with vanilla. Also some of the best ever. It is usually crowded, and there is good reason for that. I get the kid’s cup, which is plenty for me. Don’t miss this when you are here.

Awesome ice cream place! Really good ice cream, a ton of flavors, good prices, and the employees were really nice and helpful.I was going to order a large cone until I saw someone with a small cone that had three big scoops on it. Even the kids size cone had about a scoop and a half.

Every local knows this is the best Ice Cream in town! Their new building is even better to accommodate the large crowds. So many flavors and options available. Personally love the cookie dough and gator tracks. Portions are large so usually we get a kids size cone or cup (2 large scoops).

Forcing me to wear a mask will not get my business, I walked out I rather get a sundae from McDonalds than continue to give you my business. Good luck enforcing this in south west Florida where we believe in freedom and no BS.

They also have sorbet and yogurt. It was challenging to select the flavors. However, I had the coconut almond fudge and the raspberry chunk in a cup. My cousin had the salted Carmel pretzel and my niece had the strawberry. Tasted creamy and homemade. It was a nice treat after spending some time on the beach. Worth the trip and a must do stop for ice cream.

The one star rating isnt for the ice cream. That was amazing. Drove over an hour to try it out. But the one star is for the drastic approach to the masking policy without offering customers a helpful solution (i.e. offering masks to customers who forget). Wearing a mask should be combined with other things (distancing, hand washing) because no one thing is perfect to prevent covid from spreading. So to refuse serving customers ice cream on this one thing definitely detracts from the overall experience for sure. And I feel bad for the employees who have to enforce such a drastic stance, but as other reviewers are noting, they are coming across as quite rude. But how could it be perceived otherwise? Refusing service and not trying to offer a solution IS rude.

My family and I have been going here for many years. What a shame they have gone full blown mask nuts. Every window and all over the store were “reminders” to wear your mask, thanks, I get it. No indoor seating (another bummer but I’ll survive). Then when I ordered my mask slipped down which can happen when your talking. I was instantly reprimanded and before I could adjust it was informed that if I can’t wear my mask correctly I wouldn’t be served. That was the last straw! I felt so unwelcome in a place I thought had such great service and product up until now. All in our party even felt the ice cream lacks that amazing flavor it once had. So sad to see an icon go down like this.

Love the Love Boat. I dont care how the long the line is. The staff is patient and friendly and of course the ice cream never disappoints. They also serve pup cups.

Listen here people. I am an ice cream connoisseur and this place is perfect in every way possible. Hands down the best ice cream EVER. If you are debating between this place and another ice cream place pick love boat because that other place is probably average on the “how bad do I want to shove my whole face in this” scale love boat is 10/10. Ice cream was delicious. There was many many flavors which all looked wonderful. This is their new location and it is very clean and bright. I do feel they should have placed more effort into the layout of the actual interior dining room when in the design stage. There is very minimum seating both inside and out. Regardless, theres a new building and ice cream is delicious
