None of the associates spoke to us while we were there and no one asked if we needed assistance while we wondered around cluelessly. I couldnt even find someone to ask my questions. I ended up googling everything including where I could located what I needed once I figured that out as well. Ive worked in retail for 17 years. Im huge on customer service, Im also considerate of how things can quickly change or require immediate attention. At least there was someone at register to check us out.

Customer service at this location is excellent. We made a major purchase and our sales person went above and beyond. We appreciated the special attention we received and am very happy with our experience. A+ in my humble opinion

My favorite store for sporting goods. Always a good selection on most everything, but the fishing lure selection is very limited due to being out of stock on a lot of different lures, but still a good clean store with good management. We have been regular repeat customers the past few years. Definitely recommend.

We went on Fathers Day weekend so it was crowded but even with the extremely long line we had to stand in, they got us in and out super fast. They loaded up our kayaks and we got on our way in no time.

Academy was great! We went in to purchase cleats for our son and lo and behold, they were having a huge sale! We took advantage of it and purchased multiple pairs. They actually had a size 13 on display! Last pair! Academy is our go to when we need anything for sports!

I went to academy 2 days ago my friend took men his new truck and it was wonderful, they had every gym that u can think of and n different sizes and different colors and they had good prices on sell out sections which were off the chain 4 a little of nothing and if u had about a couple of hundred dollars, u could walk out of the store with about 8 or 9 boxes of nice and decent shoes. Im out,hawkeye

I was shopping for hiking boots. A great selection if your a size 8-10. Not so much for a size 12-14. I did buy a pair that im happy with for less than $100.

Love it! Its a great store for any outdoors or sporting activities you might be involved. On a semi negative note is they rearrange often and its hard to find things on a day-to-day basis.

The store was very clean, the staff was helpfull and informative. I was actually purchasing a wrist guards because my boyfriend broke his wrist riding a motorcycle, but he took his cat off because we couldnt afford for him to lose his job. The staff suggested a perfect one, I thought. I brought it home, he tried it out, for a couple days and decided he likes his other one more. I took it back without any problems. And was told I had 60 days to return... Nice!

Horrible selection on most products for girls softball and in store stock is low or unavailable on a lot of items. My two star review is very generous. The company definitely has lowered their customer appeal and convenience over the past several years.

I ordered a bike curbside pickup for my daughter for Christmas. When I picked it up from the store the basket wasn’t even connected to the bike. But I figured it was an easy fix no problem. So I loaded the bike and headed home. I hide the bike and waited till Christmas morning. She was so excited to receive this gift and couldn’t wait to ride it. We pushed it to the drive way and I proceeded to attach the basket back on. As I did this I noticed that parts were even put together correctly pieces were backward and bolts were extremely loose. I fixed things and noticed off hand before she hopped on. As she began to ride her paddles literally fell off luckily she didn’t get hurt. I purchased this exact same bike from an Academy store in Tulsa and it was put together to the T had no fixes whatsoever. Considering this bike was for my 4 year old daughter I’m pretty upset that someone was given a job to assemble this bike and couldn’t do it properly but yet another employee from a different store could. I will not buy another bike from the Fort Smith store again. I could have put it together better myself than someone getting paid to do so.

This location was ok. Same as most other Academys. The customer service was awful, which is why I gave it 2 stars. We had to search for someone to help us find what we needed. Then when we did find someone they acted as if they were bothered by us asking for help. It took nearly 15 minutes for the cashier to check one person out and a long line was forming behind me before anyone else came to open another checkout lane. Wont return to this location unless I cant find what I need elsewhere.

I always love shopping at academy and they have some best deals and they also have a lot of weightlifting equipment try to use on a regular basis. Ive also got good deals on outdoor activities for families.

Academy has a great selection of sporting goods, shoes and outdoor accessories. They dont seem to have a very good selection of sweat pants or sports wear. In the past, they seemed to have a wider variety of quality sports wear that were moderately and even lower priced brand names. Now, it seems like their sweats, gym shorts, running shorts and toes are mostly Nike and other high end brands. I dont live in these clothes nor am I trying to dress to empress and Im certainly not going to pay $65 for a pair of sweats just to lounge in or run errands. If youre looking for the lower to moderate priced quality sweats and other items, you might want to look elsewhere or online. If youre looking for higher end, pricey options, this is certainly the place to go. They also seem to have Levis that are competitively priced and have a pretty good selection.

Qualityclotheing at a comparable price. These Cathcart socks are the most comfortable ones Ive ever had on my feet. Hopefully these wolverine boots are as durable as the morrells I usually buy..in just soooii tired of rideing my shoes so Im switching to boota...wth??? Not selling handguns anymore....when did that happen ???

Customer service, or lack of it, matters a lot. This place had no workers on the floor to help the lots of people that was shopping and needing help. So I left and went shopping somewhere else. Try the woodsman, they had what I wanted but even better, there was lots of friendly help so I found what I needed quickly.

10 customers in line, 6 employees in the booth, one cashier. Staff all over the store. When the Supervisor called for more Cashers two employees got on their cell phones and walked away from the front. Needless to say, I laid my intended purchases down and walked out.

Its expensive compared to Amazon but if you need it right now and it is sporting goods...they probably have it.

Very disappointed that the store was a mess. The restrooms were closed due to no water. There was only one isle open. And the store was packed and had a 30min wait to check out. No ammo selection. And there was several broking fishing rods just shoved on shelves. And on a good note they did have very good clearances.

Shelves are still bare, hard to find anything. They have plenty of shoes tho

High prices. Nice things though.

The greeter was great! Friendly, helpful, courteous. Unfortunately no other employee engaged us during our hour long visit. It was extremely disappointing that the golf practice area was completely destroyed. Theres no longer holes for practice putting, no REAL (only styrofoam) golf balls to practice. The trial driving area has been turned into storage! Sad. Golf clubs are expensive and EVERY golfer needs to TRY the equipment to get a proper fit. Before spending $150+ on a putter you want to feel how it performs. Before spending $250-$400 on a driver you want to hit a few REAL golf balls.

Had great experience with this location in Ft. Smith while purchasing my firearm. The process was smooth and and the 4473 was electronic, which Ive never experienced before but I like it. The staff was friendly and very engaging during the entire time I was there, even though the store was pretty busy. Will definitely give them my business whenever Im in Ft. Smith again.

They had very little selection of cast iron skillets and they only had 12 IN EVERY SPOT! so under the 10 was 12, under the 15 was 12. Not happy with the lack of selection and the lazy stocking of the shelves.

My husband loves this store but they need to have a legit selection of western boots for women. They literally have two, and both are high heeled monstrosities that are made out of thin fake suede that would deteriorate if worn off the pavement. They have a good selection of everything else but theyre kind of spendy. Staff is very friendly.

Academy is a great place to find sportswear and exercising equipment. The only thing I am disappointed in is the lack of outdoor items like survival equipment, knifes, survival guides, and things like that. If you need new work out equipment, running shoes, or workout clothes this is the best place to be. They are just low in stock of camping and survival equipment at the moment.

All the staff very helpfull. Nice store great variety of products. Gun dept. Had the exact gun mount green hog hunting light that i ben trying to find. No other stores have this item in stock. Thanks to the guy working on eve shift 11/15/20. Very helpfull Thank You !!! Light works great !!!
