A walk through Bobs shop is a must for locals and visitors, he has many gems and quite a few aspirational wines, but the key is to ask him for suggestions! We have been trusting him for 2 years now and you should too. He knows his wine and he makes you feel like family.

My husband and I live downtown. Our date night always includes a bottle of wine that Bob suggests. We pick up something from Caciques, and on the way stop in and tell Bob what we ordered and he sets us up with the perfect pairing. I also love to come by for something when were cooking something special for dinner, Bob always suggests the right bottle within my budget. Hes super knowledgeable, and hes obviously passionate about wines.

The owner of this shop is amazingly helpful and nice. I am from out of town and read up on where to find a decent bottle of wine and ran across reviews for this shop. The owner spent a ton of his time with me giving me suggestions and in the end was suggesting bottles of wine that were 1/3 of what I told him I was willing to spend. You cant beat that kind of honesty. He will be getting all future business from me over the next few months.

Another shop recommended we go here to find a bottle of wine. I like sweeter wines and they were out of my favorite but the owner recommended a Riesling on the sweeter side. So we bought it and really enjoyed it. The owner was very nice and funny also. 👍🏻

Weve been buying wine at least weekly from Viniferous since it opened in 2010. Aside from having the best selection of wine and beer in the Frederick area (perhaps the DC area?), Bob and Luke are there to help you find exactly what youre looking for. We simply say what were eating for dinner, whether well be drinking with or without food, how much we want to spend, and what we expect of the taste (of course by now they know our tastes well) and we walk away with a bottle that blows us away every time. Try doing that at a liquor store or big box wine shop... Downtown Frederick is lucky to have Viniferous.

I had a great experience at Viniferous. Bob is very friendly and honest about his wines. Hes got a great selection across the board and definitely some rarities. Dont be afraid to ask him what your palette is and he wont steer you wrong.

Every time I come here, I find a great bottle of something special that I did not know of but enjoy. Bob is so knowledgeable. Luke is really friendly and fun. They make the perfect team for all kinds of people looking to enjoy life.

Viniferous is, hands down, the best wine store I have ever shopped in. The owner is extremely knowledgeable, loves his craft and is really helpful. My wife loves Ace Pear Cider and he went out of his way to special order it for us. I strongly encourage you to check out the shop and come back again and again.

The owner is a cranky curmudgeon which some will say is bad but it in this case, it the best thing that ever will happen to your tastebuds! Bob has a fanatical dedication to quality and an unwavering support of small time farmers and vintners. If its in the store its because Bob drank it and it is EXCEPTIONAL! If you like Zin, Pinot or Priorrat try to get on the owners good side and maybe you can snag an invite to the exclusive club or the next tasting!

I wish I could give more than 3 stars for service! My husband and I have been to Viniferous several times, each time greeted by name and given excellent recommendations to pair with our dinner for the evening. It is family owned, and they are always there, prices are competitive and we have enjoyed each of the wines we have tried so far. We wont buy wine anywhere else!

We’ve been buying our wines exclusively from Viniferous for over 5 years for many reasons, here is the short list:#1 They have an excellent wine selection with prices from $10 .. >$100, you don’t need to spend a lot to get a great wine!#2 The owner (and his son who fills in from time to time) know their wine and are very enjoyable to talk to. They will make recommendations based on your input and they won’t try to upsell you out of your price range.#3 They’ve tasted every wine that they sell, you’ll never get that at a beer and wine store.#4 It’s a good location for downtown Frederick, you can usually find street parking up around 4th or 5th ave… Except the 1st weekend of the month when Frederick is very busy.#5 It’s a local business and worth supporting#6 They also sell excellent coffee at a great price, it’s all we buy We love Viniferous!
