Wonderful bookstore. I order my books through them (instead of Amazon) and am able to pick them up within a few days. The store is small but they have an interesting selection. And the staff is friendly and willing to help to find the book you want.

Love it! Staff were friendly and engaging. Very receptive to offering book recommendations and helping clients. The space was well-currated and we were easily able to find multiple amazing book options. Definitely a supportive space and had many LGBTQIA+ displaces with diverse representation too. Would definitely return again!

I love love LOVE this place!I walked in this bookstore with a friend and we asked for some recommendations and an employee quickly and very excitedly picked out 7 GREAT options for us! We each bought a few of books from the ones she offered. They have a great selection in the small shop and the employees are really helpful and passionate about books.Remember to support your local bookstores or well lose places as wonderful as this one!

Stepping in for just a few moments, I was still so pleased with how wonderful the store is. There is so much variety! So much diversity! Its so nice to see a local spot highlighting writers from different backgrounds.Though small, the store is welcoming and friendly. The back of the store is reserved for childrens book, and the stores diversity offers a great chance to expose children to it. Itd be hard to find another local spot that challenges this one.

Wondered in found a bookstore for true book lovers. As you search through the titles they are most definitely curated. A bookstore that someone read the all the books and only put the ones they loved or made them think.

I wish this store wasnt as politically motivated. Lots of liberal/leftist books and accessories in there. Kind of makes me uncomfortable when Im just trying to find new fun titles. Probably wont be shopping there again, will go to wonderbook instead where old books find new owners.

I see the store as a family owned version of Barnes & Noble that does book readings for adults. Very cool and vibrant store on the inside but does not have what I’m looking for most of the time. Great reads but need to work on expanding their book assortment.

Lovely customer service and great recommendations given by staff. The only true mark up I could give were the prices but that hardly seemed to matter with the service I received. I would highly recommend the curious iguana.

Love this gem of a book store in Frederick. Its the kind of place you want every book store to be with quaint literary and other treasures to be discovered around every corner, in every nook and cranny. I could spend the entire day exploring this shop.

It is always super exciting to go into this place because you never know what you might find. By far one of my favorite independent bookstores. The staff is very knowledgeable even when Ive gone in looking for very niche topics. Great selection of local authors along with works by marginalized populations.

Wonderful inviting and friendly local bookshop... Excellent selection of childrens books and any family who goes in there will find something for everyone. I loved that they collaborated with a local school for a book fair.

Not a huge store but they have a books that you probably wont find at your Barnes & Noble. Good selection of kids books (including Hilda for those familiar with the Netflix series). Hard to figure out how books (aside from the kids section) were organized, but thats not a bad thing as it makes you walk around and look at everything.

Sometimes I look over old reviews and if Ive been back to that particular location and things have changed or efforts have been made I feel its only fair to acknowledge that and edit the review and/or add or subtract stars as necessary (was 2 stars, now 4).This was the case with this bookstore. My wife, my daughter and I went back into the bookstore to find a book we could all read together and the two employees that were working at the time, a young man and a young lady, couldnt have been more friendly and more helpful and I really appreciate that.I dont know if the issues of my old review are still present, but at the end of the day its about that one-on-one connection with your customers and they did that really well.These two employees brought you up 2 more stars.Im saving the 5th star for the next time I go in to see if the older issues have been resolved.Old review:This book store loses 3 stars because an employee was allowed to wear a shirt advocating a social/political cause. They also seem to largely display (promote) books from only one political perspective. That is their voice I guess. Heres mine: Leave the bias out of the business and I will return. Until then, hello Barnes & Noble and Amazon

We went to Frederick yesterday for Fire in Ice and discovered this amazing independently owned book store! Great selection and wonderful staff — I left with several new books, including two “blind dates” (a fantastic idea, btw, Curious Iguana!). I can’t wait to go back to this treasure trove!!!

Curious Iguana is an adorable little book store with an impressively curated selection The very brief interactions I had during my visit made me wish that I wasnt just visiting Fredrick for the weekend. Im a bit jealous of the people who are local for it.
