Best gift shop in downtown frederick or Frederick in general.

I absolutely love this store! They have cute knick-knacks, gifts, Maryland souviners, and jewelry. It is a locally owned small business so you can feel good shopping there. Their inventory changes throughout the year so youll always have something new to look at. I always stop in when Im downtown to see what new items they have.

I love all of the sarcastic, clever, Blue Q and Ann Taintor magnets, oven mitts, vintage/retro signs and oven more. Great place to find a unique fun gift or something fun for your home. I havent found another place like this.

There’s so many things in this store, it’s hard to leave with less than a few items. So many cool little magnets, coasters, and socks. They also have Frederick post cards, which are very hard to find at any other downtown shops. I highly recommend you stop in anytime you’re downtown and I’ll be sure you find something you will like.

Great shop in Downtown Frederick. They have a wide selection of curiosities and things for homes. I bought a nice business card holder. The staff is great and Cora was especially helpful.

Nice shop in the downtown shopping district featuring gag gifts, novelty items, joke items and a variety of small gift items some with some wickedly fun sense of humor. Clean and organized store, nicely displayed. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Near other shops, restaurant and museums. Highly recommended for a fun novelty.

I love this local shop! It is a must stop every time I come downtown. It has a lot of cutesy Maryland trinkets and Frederick specific things to buy. Any time I have visitors or if I need to buy something with a Maryland flag on it, I come here first.

This place has so many cute and funky finds. I always love coming in here to find gifts as you never know what you will find.

First off, I have purchased from this store close to a dozen times. I really have enjoyed the items in there for gifts and personal. The staff has always been really friendly. Until yesterday. I had brought my cousins in there, as part of touring around Frederick. There were several items that I was planning on purchasing. Before buying one item I needed(a corkscrew), I wanted to check in another store before deciding. One of my cousins and myself were looking at a lunch box, that was really cool! It didnt have a latch as they typically do, or even a hinge. While looking to see where the tab was on it it to open, the lid popped off and hit the ground. Immediately a disgruntled employee marched over, grabbed the box, and said it was dented, and she has to now throw it out, or sell it for half price. Its amazing how fast she found that dent. I bet this is not the first time this has occurred. Something like that should have tape on it to prevent that from happening. She had asked if I would be willing to pay for half of it. Of course her demeanor was pretty rude. I asked how much it was? The amount was actually something I was willing to pay, with the other items I was planning to purchase that day. I did not answer her right away because I was telling myself not to get angry with her attitude. Before I could say anything, she just immediately accused me of not being willing to help cover the cost of the item. Which I would have, with the rest of my intended items too purchase. But as stated, I just wanted to go to an adjacent shop for to see what corkscrews they had. Im not going back to Retro Metro after this incident! To have that kind of attitude with your customer over a $12 item is unacceptable. Especially over an item that this type of accident is likely to occur. You have lost a customer who has already spent several hundred dollars on repeat visits, and even brought others into your shop to do business with you. Shame on you for treating a customer like that!

Perfect shop when you need a gift. The variety is great and even though I was there so often, theres always something new to explore. The associates are really friendly and the shop is clean. Always fun going there

Today was my 1st time Visiting this place Cute little shop however I live an hour away and didnt realize I was double charged for An item. A little disappointing

Very nice place with tons of fun stuff. We went in because it said dog friendly and our dog was getting a bit hot outside. Little did we know it was such a nice place with very friendly staff! The dog got some treats and we bought some good stuff!!

I love the eclectic appeal of this store. Really great unique and one of a kind gifts, and a wonderful staff. They have VIP deals for frequent customers and it is my favorite store downtown Frederick.

Came into the store with hours posted on door and was told it was closed. I had exactly what i was going to buy in my hands... poor customer service on your end if your close remove the sign or lock the doors dont turn away a willing paying customer.Update: The company did a great job trying to remedy the issue.

I used to love Retro Metro, but yesterday I was treated rudely by the staff and I wont return there.My teenager son was looking at a canned candle when his father called him. He put the candle on the shelf to answer his phone and I guess the lid fell. The sale person came to me right away and told me that the lid had a bump because of my son and I had to pay for the candle b/c it was not salable anymore. It was very rudely said, in front of all the other customers.I did not argue because I saw my son handling that item but I suspect the bump was there before my son touched it.In any case, being rude and blunt was not necessary in those circumstances. I certainly wont get back and wont give them a good publicity anymore.
