I am not a coffee aficionado but I do appreciate the time and effort that these folks put into making great coffee. The facility was well organized and the staff was very courteous and friendly. There was only one other person there and it still took longer than I would’ve expected to get a plain cup of coffee. The order was accurate and tasted great and I bought some cold brew to take home with me.

We love Rook! Have been going there since it opened and have always been impressed with the service and atmosphere. The coffee is fresh and delicious. We moved to Boston and now have it delivered. When people come visit we request the new orleans cold brew and an extra bag of beans to share. A bag of beans, t-shirt and mug are favorite thank you gifts for neighbors who take care of plants and mail while we are away! THANK YOU ROOK!

Love their coffee. You really cant drive pass Rooks and not get a cup of coffee. I wish they would expand to Toms River. Id be there every day!

Excellent coffee experience in Freehold, NJ. Many different roasts to choose from, all made via pour-over so the cups are fresh.The food offerings are limited and include croissants, pastries, and a few assorted snack bars.Reasonably priced, welcoming environment, and open at 6am everyday!

This location has gone severely downhill in the past few months. The coffee has been made incorrectly quite a few times but it’s not worth asking to fix it because they seem to be extremely short staffed. I’m writing this as I wait for almost 20 minutes for a mobile order to be made, which was placed 15 minutes before I even arrived. Sad to see this one become so bad

They should definitely change their coffee cup suppliers because coffee is all over my white sweater.

Their iced coffee is A1. Got the latte style and enjoyed every sip. This was my order and I found it to be the perfect balanceCold Brew Latte Style: agave sweetener, oat milk, less ice, oat milk and little bit of cream

There is nothing better than rook cold brew. I had the pumpkin-style for the first time and it did not disappoint!

Love the simplicity of this place. They make great coffee, and you dont get mentally flashbanged by 3000+ coffee choices like some other cafes that will not be named. Ive never had a bad or messed up drink, and I have always been met by a friendly barista. An overall lovely place.

Im done.. 2 bad coffees in a row . 1st time asked for cream and sugar and it super light and so sweet I had to drive back. Today I asked for 1 sugar and 1 cream & it was sweet and light.

1st time going to Rook. I bought an iced mocha coffee with almond milk. It was robust and had a distinct flavor. Ill be going back🙏🏿💪🏿 oh, the young lady behind the counter was amazing. I wish I could remember her name. Good energy☺

A nice place to get a coffee that is not the usual Starbucks experience. I had a Turkish coffee that was flavored with cardamom and made with dark roast coffee. Delicious! Also available was a New Orleans style coffee made with chicory. The store was tidy and baristas were very good at explaining the variety of beverages that were on offer. I cant wait to go back and try one of the cold brew coffees or just another variety of hot coffee.

Great local gem, with staff that is very helpful and friendly. Still trying to find my favorite brew, so more trips in store until I have tried them all. You will also find beautiful pastries and of course a bagel.

Was in the area and wanted a nice cup of joe and unfortunately my mistake trying to support a local establishment rather than a Starbucks or DD. The staff were very rude as I took my time to figure out what I wanted because it was my first time I was there and wanted to see options. I was greeted with a what do you want? and after please hurry up. They cared more about their social media posts rather than there customers. First and last time I go there!

Rook is one of my favorite coffee places to go to. I love the seasonal specialty flavors, currently enjoying pumpkin style. I cannot wait for their winter flavors. The experience is always pleasant at all Rooks but the freehold location is especially nice because it is one of their slower locations and the staff can really take the time with you.

They also offer essentially everything on their menu from beans to cold brew that you can make at work or at home all hours of the day when you can’t find time to make it to the store.

I ordered the mocha and it was delicious! I drink my coffee black, and the hints of sweetness from the dark cocoa and coffee was just so nice. It really hit that sweet spot for me today 😊. Their other coffees are great too.. So fresh.

As always another great experience at Rook. I am almost a daily guest at the Freehold Rook. I dont comment as often as I should so allow this to encompass and describe my overall experience over the last few months since my last post.It seems as the infectious, kind, polite and energized personality of Michael has spread to the whole team. The whole team is full of smiles (even when bogged down in the weeds) I would like to express my highest regards (this time) to Christine and Sean!Each visit, I am greeted with Hi Jimmy, they pretty much know my drink, but sometimes I surprise them with a curveball. Today, I wanted to try something new and Sean took his time to make some suggestions with their flavor profiles (even though there is signage).As always Christine runs the show. She always recognizes you and makes sure each guest knows they care even if there is a small wait. I am not sure if she is team leader, but she definitely handles herself as such and it seems as if the other team members respect her as well.Once again, great job Rook and keep the vibe going.

Superior coffee at a price. Rook coffee is very good (better than Starbucks, Dunkin and Wawa, in my opinion) but it is a little pricey. 1 regular hot coffee and 1 regular iced coffee was $7.00. More of a treat than a go to coffee shop but it is very good. Service at this location is usually quick and efficient.

I loved this little shop! They made my coffee with agave and coconut milk. Literally could not have been more pleased! They also seemed to know all the regulars by name, which made my day!

My overall favorite place to get a cup of coffee!! They don’t have anything too sweet which is nice. Just a basic coffee joint! The staff is nice and understanding! I go at least once a week to this place and come home happy

Heard this was the best coffee spot. I was not let down at all. I was the first customer of the day and the staff was very energetic and nice! The coffee is incredibly delicious. It is expensive but worth it. I usually order a regular coffee, nothing fancy. Their brewing method really brings out the coffee flavor and makes every cup as fresh as Ive ever tasted.Highly recommend.

Ive been to almost every location and the staff is super friendly as well. Great people, great coffee.

Had a cup of their Costa Rica and it ended up tasting weak and underextracted.Single origin coffees served hot seem to all be done as a pour over at Rook. Cool. But I watched in horror as the barista filled a measuring glass with 16 oz of water (a notably large amount for their smallest size) and dumped it on the ground coffee in one pour. A minute or two later, my coffee was ready. I could drink it for nearly ten minutes because it was so hot.The coffee itself seemed to be good. It’s not particularly cheap or easy to run a coffee shop using freshly roasted single origin coffees. Care was put in by Rook to get this far. But dumping 16 oz of boiling water on a bed of grounds is fumbling at the goal line.They’d be better off getting a big commercial brewer. It would save them time and make a better tasting product.

Rook Coffee is a like party in your mouth. Like, your parents went away for the weekend, and your best friends are all coming over, and your crush is there, and everyone is having a great time, and DJ Kalid is on the aux, and Batman gives you his utility-belt and a high five. Basically, it is great coffee.

I went in to the freehold location to buy a t shirt and a mug for a Father’s Day gift. We wanted to purchase beans and it was such a big deal to buy beans not through the app. Horrible customer service, will not be coming back.

Despite visiting with one or two of my English compatriots who are coffee philistines we all seemed to enjoy the coffee, purchased before local business meetings. Nice healthy snack bars too.

I got tired of getting iced coffee from some well known chains only to have the coffee taste old, bitter and nasty. Came to rook and had the freshest iced coffee Ive ever had, and the staff is friendly too. Thanks!

Actually pretty surprised by this place. I noticed it when I was entering to check into the radisson hotel next door. The next morning, i skipped hotel coffee to go try rook. I mentioned to the lady that it was my first time. She went through the menu with me and mentioned that everything is super organic. No artificial sweeteners. I ended up getting something iced with mocha. It was delish.

The staff at Took is very friendly and they remember our order and our names. Sabrina is the best!

I wupas first introduced back to rook coffee back in October. The smell was overwhelming & satisfying. I picked up a bag of sumatran & guitamalian. Bought are superb choices. 2 week ago I had a Turkish coffee & was a nice surprise. If you like a dark roast than Turkish is for you.

The coffee was good, but it is expensive. I just got regular brewed coffee. Starbucks has a lot more choices, and I pay less for plain brewed there.

Unfortunately for me, this location has horrible staff and a disrespectful manager. A young kid that called himself Matthew. I was on my way to work, I am a physician and I work at a hospital I decided to get a cup Of coffee that I absolutely love. I was the only one at the store at the time of order and right after me walk in 5 ppl some with 2 or 3 orders. I had to wait until EVERYONES was done. I asked the manager to please speed up the process, but he didnt even remember what my order was. Plus they got it all wrong .They have been here long enough and they just dont care. I refuse to go back until there are new staff members that serve the customers that ordered first, FIRST. Why did I have to wait for Everyones to be done? Shame the product is good but your customer service is horrific!
