My car wouldn’t start and I had to get it towed to a shop. Every shop I called were too busy and couldn’t fit me in. I called pep boys on Shaw and immediately told me they can fit me in when I arrive. I show up there and they check me in. And I was already expecting the worst! Long story short within the hour Anthony told me my battery and alternator were perfectly fine, all my battery needed was a charge. I was so stoked! They definitely save me a lot of money couldn’t be more thankful! Wonderful service!

Did a great job fitting us in as a walk in service. Kept us informed. Just wish they didnt charge so much for their diagnostic test and/or have to do 3 different diagnostic tests.

My father and I went here yesterday to get his truck somewhat fixed. I drive the truck because I have no car for my kids and I, so we go in and he asked us what we want done. We told him to try to fix everything that was wrong. He goes and looks at the tires. He asks me if the truck feels wobbly when I drive I said yes when I drive 50-60mph. So he suggests a price for different tires and price ranges. We insisted on just going with the two front tires because they’re wearing off the most. Total ends up being around $450+ tax. After a charge for a diagnostic, which was like around $100+, total is around $550+ now. Today my dad told me they didn’t fix the truck, they didn’t add new tires to the front. They installed the back tires to the front and new tires on the back. They told my dad they could fix the truck, but ended up telling him to go find a mechanic instead. I’m really angry and frustrated because not only did they do a horrible job at “helping” us, they didn’t resolve any problems. What a waste of money and time. This was my first time at pep boys and my last time! Do not go here!

This Pepboys(West Shaw location) is ok with their customers setting appointments that they cannot fulfill in a timely manner. They really should make the customer aware of actual wait times and any other factor that may affect their service.

This is the best Pep Boys in town. Theyve always been very helpful upfront and honest. If youre part of the rewards program and use coupons you can get really good prices on stuff. I got new tires cheaper here than I could at Costco or anywhere else in Fresno.

I had a 10am appointment and Have been a loyal customer for over 5year. I arrived 15 min early and waited behind 8 people. At 1015 I was not yet even acknowledged along with the other customers as if we all hadnt been standing there for 30min. Cashier spent about 20min on one customer and when he was done stepped out. I went over to the door that leads to where the repairs are made which was wide open and yelled out, “hello”. This worker makes his way over half ways and as im asking him if anyone can give his coworker a hand He tells me, “no, hes the only one”, as hes closing the door in my face. The embarrassment and disrespect was just enough to have me walk out and likely not ever give my business to them again. You know what was so ironic, as im standing there at the doorway entrance for 30min, right up above on one side of the cashier hung a sign that read “ Dedicated Service Center, Dedicated to getting you in and out faster”. I wanted to tear it down for false advertising. FYI, the waiting and bathroom smells worse then a Portable bathroom.

I made an appointment to for an oil change and also because my windshield fluid wasn’t coming out. I thought I had a crack in my windshield fluid reservoir and asked them to look at it. The ended up replacing it which cost me $230 only for it not to work. I had to take the day off from work to bring my car back and I told them that I just got the reservoir replaced from them yesterday and it wasn’t working. The guy checks out my car again and then tells me that it wasn’t a problem with my windshield reservoir but my hose was disconnected and if i wanted that replaced I was going to have to wait and it was going to cost me additional money. I took my car to a local mechanic shop and the guy there fixed it for $15. So if you don’t want to be scammed out of your money because of a companies intrinsic greed then I would recommend not coming here at all.

The store itself was closed but the service center was open and they was able to do an oil change in less than an hour.

The shop was busy, but allowed walk-ins for an oil change. The staff were very friendly. The job was done quickly.

Disappointed on their service agent. I had reservation at 10 am. I get to Pep Boys at 9:55 am. I waited 25 minutes to talk to the service agent. This was on a Tuesday and there were 2 cars in garage and 8 people standing in the garage trying to look busy but they were avoiding the customers. I will not go back!!!

We did some shopping while waiting for tires and alignment. 3 hours later and with one tire left to mount, our tech went to lunch. We had finished shopping and waited another 30 minutes for him to return before continuing the service. More than four and a half hours before we could finally drive the car home. Also, they were more expensive than others in the area. We only chose this shop because we could walk to local retailers from there while getting the work done. I should have walked away at the higher $$$ from the estimate. I would have too if I knew that the service wasnt very good. Needless to say, they wont be my first choice in the future.

Im glad I discovered this place. Miguel manages the store well. The technicians are fast, friendly, and expert at their work. The quality of the pep boys in Bakersfield was good too. So i think as a corporation they have high standards in general. Nothing wrong with that.

Tried to charge me way more than what I got the work done for. The way they explain what was wrong with my vehicle was not done in a clear way. Also, a lot of people were coming in to buy parts but they are no longer a store, just a shop.

We stopped in to find a luggage rack for the roof of our car installed it and went back inside to buy straps and Ray the cashier went above and beyond and made sure we had something to drink to stay hydrated as the temperature was 106° outside! What great customer service! And while we were there he waited on other customers and knew them by name thats impressive!

Always make an appointment! Cant stress this enough. Otherwise you will either get turned away or wait a really, really, really long time. Depending on the service, the price is fair. I would always suggest looking at their site prior and using a coupon to get the best bang for your buck. Some staff is friendly, others try to squeeze more money out of you. Be smart. Do your research.

DO NOT GET SERVICED HERE!!! I Got serviced here May 7th 2020 and on June 22nd 2020 I recieved a check maintenance light. I checked and the oil and it was low but shouldnt be because it was barely over a month.I then went to look at the windshield sticker to see when I should go back and it wasnt there. I called the store and they have me on record for doing an oil change only in December, not may. I have email proof that I got it in may.I am almost positive I paid for a service that never got done. The manager was rude and disruptive when I spoke with him, and kept referring to Oct, when I have an email from may. 120,000 miles was what they recorded in October. am now at 126,078 in mayPlease be cautious, when going here.

After waiting an hour and a half they told me my f150 truck wouldnt fit on the lift and I would need to go somewhere else. I pitched a fit after having waited that long and lost my temper because its a common truck and suddenly my truck fit on a different lift once they actually tried. Customer service could use some real improvement. $115 for an oil change is a bit ridiculous for a v8 engine.

I was okay until they tried tell me I needed a new ac compressor for $1000.00. I left there and bought some seal and ac recharge. This was last Monday and my ac ac still working blowing ice cold. They tried to rip me off but not.

I arrived here a later after 4 pm, less than 2 hours before closing. Bought a new set of 4 tires for my pickup truck after checking out a few places nearby. Hard to find good tires at a decent price on a Sunday afternoon apparently. Honestly, wasnt looking forward to the price tag of new tires at the time, but just experienced a flat tire, and the treads were worn so no point in fixing.Service crew were generally pleasant. I have to apologize to the crew for being so short with them, as I had three kids in tow (including a toddler and one Hell of a day). Yes, with a capital H.I had asked to replace the spare tire under the truck, but they couldnt find the spare tire bar. Not exactly inspiring confidence in service ability.I did receive my fourth tire free. So that was a nice surprise. Was expecting to pay an extra $150.Picked up the truck, and upon investigation realized the spare is missing. A bit of discovery I realized the technicians put it in the bed of the truck. Ok. Kind of sucks for a now Sunday evening for me to do it in the dark, but Ill take the cost of the free tire anytime.Overall Im happy, but being in the service industry myself, the extra mile wouldve gone a long way, so four stars because of the free tire!Thanks Pep boys for helping to get my truck back on the road in time for the work week.

This is the best Pep Boys in all of Fresno! The only place my wife feels comfortable leaving her car and we are never scared by the final bill. Their attention to detail and level of customer service in the shop is above and beyond any place I have ever taken my vehicles!

Service manager was a incompetent person. I was trying to get my vehicle fixed and these guys couldnt even do it, Ill just post another one for pepboys here since they couldnt help me, retail were ok but service manager Blaine wasnt

They were very helpful. Got an oil change. Had just spent most of my money Christmas shopping right before. The total was almost $35 and I hadnt anticipated that. I explained to the cashier that I didnt have quite that much. He gave me their rewards card which brought the total down to $21. I was very grateful.

At first I really liked pep boys and would go for routine maintenance on my car. They were good to me for about 2 years. Then they messed up a lot. I took my car in to get my fuses replaced which they did a good job on. But when they were finished they brought me a electronic box and said, we dont know what this is. I found out later that they removed my cruise control computer! I could no longer use cruise control. I also got my brakes pads replaced. But they put the wheel back on wrong and my wheel flew off my car while I was on the freeway! It took weeks to get contact from the manager. They claimed it wasnt their fault and did nothing to fix my car. I do not recommend this Pep Boys ever.

Had a battery that had gone bad after sitting in my car for 12 mo. w/o use. They tested it and replaced it free of charge without me having to bring in a receipt. They were able to look the battery up on their system, find out the purchase date and the warranty info. They were friendly and easy to deal with. It was a great experience!

Very helpful customer service. Had the assistant manager, he was very nice and helpful knew how to help and how to explain to us what was wrong. Very accommodating. Tires were our of stock but he made sure he got them in for us on that day

Service work here is awful! Pep Boys used to be a go to place but now they are horrible. Paid close to $500 for an alignment, 2 tires and check engine light on a small 2012 car. Was advised the service light was because of an oil change which we paid for only to get in the car to leave to still have a service light on AND tire pressure light still. The alignment feels off. Keep searching for pricing at competitors until they fix their service center. Right now its a ripoff. Then they try to sell a warranty on the alignment...a warranty on an alignment? Okay...

A/C switch needed replacement. I was told this by the mechanic when he looked at the car, but didnt tell me I needed to take it to the dealer until he charged $90.00. To check it. Only the dealer can program this new switch. But the good thing is after talking to the Mgr about the mechanic knowing the car, that the dealer was the only company who could fix it - the mechanic should have told me to take it to the dealer and save $90.00But the Mgr understood the problem and removed the $90.00 charge.The Mgr s name was Raul thank you Raul

Zero stars. Every repair Ive had done here since 2010 has been a horrible experience. Todays? I need some kind of emissions repair on my car, which didnt pass smog. I have the diagnostic sheet in my hand. Their service department accepts an appointment for such a repair, but when I arrive, the mechanic says No, we dont do that. What a waste of time. Go elsewhere, everyone.

Been a loyal customer the last few years... came to this location because another one screwed me up last time and put synthetic oil instead of conventional oil. Came here for another oil change and the guy who took my information and my keys didnt bother to give me a quote for service. When he rang me up asked me if I had a coupon, I didnt bring it so I started looking through my email. I couldnt find it so he just charged me, didnt bother to tell me how much it was and didnt even bother to look me up in the system. I wouldnt come here again, I went from paying $20 for an oil change to $75.

Very unprofessional in honoring appointments tried twice to go in with an appointment and the first time I was called after I was sent an appointment confirmation and told it would be over a 2 hour wait so then I scheduled a second appointment was sent a confirmation email and still someone called me to cancel it . Their entire appointment management system is ridiculous and so unprofessional. You guys really need to step it up !

My son had taken his car to have his brake done. A couple months later as my son and his friend were on the freeway his rear tire came off while he was going at least 55mph getting ready to exit the freeway. The car came to a complete halt as the front slammed to the ground and sparks flew up while watching his tire go up the off ramp almost causing an accident with other vehicles exiting the freeway. The lugnuts were not put on correct. The wheel lock is what kept the wheel on for as long as it was. The rim around the wheel lock was worn out. Called pep boys. The manager said he would drive by my house to look at the car. Ive never heard of THAT before. Then never heard from him again with no resolution regarding the fact that my son and his friends life were in danger with terrible workmanship

The DREAM TEAM! I want to set the record straight. If you go to this Pep Boys ask for Daniel or Trevor for assistance and ask that William work on your vehicle. You will not be sorry! Heres my scenario.....I flew from Seattle to LA to pick up a 1985 Toyota DLX 4x4 that i had purchased online. About two hours into my journey 40 miles outside of Fresno I went over a bump and lost ALL POWER to my new truck. I was beside myself. I called my wife, AAA, and Pep Boys in Fresno where I spoke with Daniel. I told hime the situation, and what I though was wrong with the vehicle and asked if he could help. He told me to tow the truck in and they would get on it as fast as possible. Unfortunately by the time I got to Pep Boys they were closing in 45 minutes and told me they probably would not get to work on my vehicle tonight. Totally understandable! Hey life happens. I left my truck with them and got a hotel room for the night. The nest day I went back to Pep Boys around 10:15am. Trevor told me exactly what was up with my truck. They were on it, and that I should be back on the road with in the hour. He quoted me a estimate of $150.oo for parts and labor. That sounded more than fair to me. They finished up with the truck in about an hour and for $25.00 less than the estimate!!! Every employee I encountered at this Pep Boys was more than professional and helpful. They bent over backwards to get the job done fast and done right the first time. The fixed my truck faster than I could have imagined and for such little money. The only down side to this is that I live in Seattle and not in Fresno. So if you live in Fresno and need car work done hit up Pep Boys and ask Daniel or Trevor for assistance. And make sure you insist that William service your vehicle. Professional, Courteous, Helpful, and Fast. What more could you ask for from your DREAM TEAM?!

Was told to just bring in my car for an oil change, no need to make an appointment. Came in and they said they were too busy to do it. Scheduled an appointment. Took almost an hour with an appointment, not 30 minutes. Called today, months later for another oil change. Told me to just bring it in, I said no Ive heard that before. Refused to let me make an appointment! Never going back.

I wasnt big fan of Pepboys but my todays visit changed my opinion except the guy at front who is cheesy to be a salesman car dealership ( he lied every time ), I walked into the store and explained I need an oil change and settled with synthetic oil and asked about timelines, as I was without an appointment so they told me 2.5- 3 hrs, I was okay with it as I requested for drop offNow the whole thing changed, the moment I sign the document, I was told that I will get drop off in next 5 mins as they are done with customer in queueI patiently wait, meanwhile an another guy ( Suk) told me that my car is started, and now when I asked for the drop off, the guy changed his stand that this will take another 30-45?mins so its worthless, I dont know why do they lie at first placeAnd I wasnt the only one, I saw 4-5 ppl getting same answers And all of them walk awayThe only reason I am still able to give this place 4 stars was due to other guy (suk), I wish they have more ppl like him

These guys suck! I took my motor mounts to get fixed by these guys (which was covered by my cars warranty company) and they said the motor mounts did not need fixing. A month later, my check engine light comes on and it turned out that indeed the motor mounts were broke. Also I called my warranty company after I left pep boys and they told me that they dont reccommend Pepboys because their system cannot accept the payment from the warranty company. Like, really did Pepboys lie just because my warranty couldnt pay them?

Made a phone appointment for brake pad replacement on Tuesday for Thursday at 9am. I was quoted about an hour for pads on both axels.Come Thursday at 9am, not in the system. One other customer here. No wait, get on it right away. Three hours later still not done.Dont have service done here unless youre unemployed and have an entire day to waste on something that should only take about an hour.

My sister car water pump broken and she took her car to them and they told her it would cause $400 dollar to fix. They told her the car water pump alone cost her 200 something dollar and other thing too and she call me and I told her no. So I when on youtube and they teach me how to fix it. I took the car old water pump to auto zone got the brand new water pump for 50 dollar with life time warranty and got it fix myself in 30min. If there not try to rip her then why would they told her car water pump cause 200 dollar? fyi she drive a 2001 Toyota corolla type s and she know nothing about car

Terribly surprised me today,i specifically told them i just wanted my front breaks done and thats it.so i returned to find all my weels off,and told instead i need all breaks and rotors done which would come out well over 300.00, so i declined,and they denied me any break service ..not so happy with there service today.which i was a loyal costomer.

Too often we only pay attention to the things that go wrong. The truthi is that if this company only does wrong things and they rip people off, why are they still in business? I have delt with PepBoys several times over many years. The only problem Ive ever had was with certain individuals, standard personallity clashes that occur from time to time. I fully recommend PepBoys, they are fast, dependable, and reasonable to deal with.
