The service is good, but the value for what you get, is poor. In the photo youll see a small bowl of oatmeal and a small, basic breakfast sandwich with two slices of fruit. Each meal was $11.99. Yeah, totally overpriced. The food itself was lackluster and one of the toilets didnt work here, I actually had to lift the tank and pull the chain just to get the toilet to flush. This place was busy on a Friday, mid day. I understand some places are more expensive than others, but I dont see the value here. I wont be returning.
Im giving it 5 stars because I really enjoyed my meal, it was 100% worth the money, and I like to support local businesses. However, there were a couple very small things that needed improvement...Its the pandemic, so theres an outdoor tent for seating - but no clear area to check in with a host. The host saw us and told us to sit in the back, but we kind of got lost and invisible to the staff back there. No big deal - we were tended to eventually and they were very friendly. Also there was a curtain that kept hitting my boyfriend because it wasnt secured.I got the crab cake benedict, and it didnt say on the menu that it came with any sides. It ended up arriving with country potatoes (I wouldve preferred a different side) and the country potatoes were very bland. I know its rude to ask for salt, but I wasnt going to eat them otherwise. They brought me salt packets instead of a shaker (because of the pandemic?).Anyway, Im being very nit-picky. It was indeed a great meal. The crab cake benedict was perfectly executed and worth every penny. Will be back!
Lollipop Kale and Salmon has always been my go-to order!Service has always been fine, nothing too memorable. Obviously the outdoor seating is beautiful! They have cute merch on display inside. I’ve purchased chocolate, candles, and ceramics all from different artist/vendors. Within the last 2 years my last 3 orders of the Lollipop Kale and Salmon hasn’t been served with Kale. It’s been served with mixed greens. The first time this happened I was bummed and assumed they ran out. The second time I was shocked. This last time I gave up all hopes. Here are some photos from 2017 of my visits.
Wholesome american food, decent to small portions, tasty. A grilled vegetables sandwich (two regular sized bread with chopped veggies) with side of small fruit is $17. The frittata was also delicious, potatoes were cooked well. The food took a bit to arrive, so plan for that. The staff was friendly.Inside the store they have knicknacks for sale along with local cookies, honey etc.
Great neighborhood place. Breakfast til 3.
The patio is a place I highly recommend.I took my son and my 103 year old mother there. They were very accommodating!!!!
Love this place! Perfect patio cafe to enjoy brunch with some friends on a fabulous spring day. They serve fresh organic plates with a wide selection on the menu. I love the eggs Benedict served with ham the classic style. The potatoes are always well cut and Seasons with just enough crisp on the outside. You have to try the pomegranate mimosas they are refreshing and such a delight to enjoy on the patio. They also have a set menu for health-conscious connoisseurs. This is a nice relaxing upscale environments, enjoy!
Perfect place to get breakfast, the food was really good and they have options for a half or full portion which is great for someone like me who only ever ends up eating half. They have several gluten free options and I was able to get an eggs benedict with a slice of good gf toast to replace the English muffin. My only regret is that I dont actually live in Fresno so who knows when I will get the opportunity to eat there again.
I dont know how I never ate here before...staff were friendly..service was great...food was fresh and delicious, it was a nice environment...I will be coming back very soon.
Pretty bad experience, went in there excited to try it out and was basically rushed out. I understand it must have been busy and they wanted to get other people seated, but they guy with the short hair literally took my gfs plate when she was still chewing on her last piece. We were both looking at each other confused and couldn’t believe how rude he and the older waitress were. You know the experience was bad when you log in just to leave a review smh
This review is strictly about the food. The service was good but I ordered huevos rancheros and my plate was COVERED in sauce, like my fruit and potatoes were also swimming in it, and it was topped off with one thick square of half melted cheese. It was Like I was eating soup with a fork. My friend ordered a pancake and it tasted dry and somewhat burnt. The flavor overall was pretty awful. For almost $20 a plate, and such a cute place, in such a cute shopping center, I hoped for better.
Great service, great food! Try the sweet potato hash!
Decent food, very fresh. The lady who sat me down and brought me my cappuccino was extremely nice. The cappuccino was good.Had the sweet potato hash (sweet potato with kale) and eggs over easy with apple chicken sausage and a english muffin. Sweet potatoes were cooked to perfection!Overall, food was good, and service was okay.
We had breakfast here on a Sunday. I called to reserve a table for two and was advised that they dont do reservations, but they do take call ahead seating 15-20 minutes ahead. I was cool with that and called 20 minutes out. The woman I spoke to didnt want to take my name because they were sitting tables for two immediately, so theres no need to put a name in. I told her wed be walking from a nearby neighborhood and would take 15-20 minutes to get there. She reluctantly took my name down. When we showed up and gave the name we had called ahead for, we were told it would be another 15-20 minute wait. I explained that we were told wed be seated immediately and the host worked it out for us when two groups ahead of us had apparently left. I totally understand the demand on food and beverage workers and am happy to wait when need be, I was just put off by the fact that the hostess on the phone seemed inconvenienced by taking my name down, and completely misinformed me as well. Had I taken her word for it, I may have been waiting a while. The food was okay. I feel its very overpriced for the flavor and quality we received. We ordered the sweet potato hash egg dish x2. It didnt seem like anything I couldnt throw together at home, and it was luke warm when it came. I ordered over easy eggs which I typically enjoy, but once the eggs broke, the plate was a cold, wet mess with some sweet potato chunks. The servers were very kind and we might revisit to try another dish. I dont think we will be coming back any time soon though. We paid $56 dollars for two cups of lemonade and two egg dishes, each with avocado added. I will also give kudos for how generous they are with avocado considering its a $3 add on.
Extremely overpriced for the food. Their salads tend to be very good if you don’t mind spending $17 for a salad. I tried their ‘margarita pizza’ and the entree was presented with a salad unceremoniously dumped on top, dressing and everything. When I tried to complain to the manager, an unpleasant woman with a short bob and mouse-brown hair, she angrily insisted that “California pizza kitchen serves their pizzas with the salad on top so...?” My feeling was I don’t care if the Queen of England serves her pizza with salad dumped on top, it’s gross that way. The moisture of the salad/dressing soaks into the thin crust of the pizza and its f-ing nasty. So if you enjoy that first bite of pizza mush (and neurotic, delusional management) this would be the place.
Five stars because it’s one of the few healthy places for breakfast we could find in the area. However, be aware that the regular drip coffee is a bit pricey at $3.50 a cup and a single pancake with butter is between $6.99-$7.99 depending on if you want the organic one or not. I am a regular at organic and farm-to-table places and this, even to me, seems a bit pricey. However, that being said, the food was good. I can recommend the Spinach and Pine Nut Egg White Frittata. The drip coffee was ok, but not great, and the servers we had were really good.PS: the bathrooms are not the cleanest I have ever seen. What looks like months or maybe years of half-hearted cleaning has resulted in floors that have been mopped but not exactly cleaned and walls that are spattered with dried mystery liquid drops. So there is that. Nevertheless, the food was good.
The food was extremely bland, I wish I had made breakfast from home instead. All the food needed was at least salt and pepper, maybe actual *sauce* for the eggs Benedict as well. Ordering food is exciting and its a huge disappointment when the food is barely as good as an elementary school breakfast.
Nice ambiance, good food. Waitress asked if I needed my change. Hate that!
There were eight of us so we kept a couple of wait staff busy. Food was good, service was better.
Great service, and decent food. Outdoor seating is inviting. I ve been coming back for years
Great place to go when your life is perfect!! If lifes not perfect, you can eat there and day dream of how great life is. And it is right!! Sorry. Back to the point. Patio Cafe rules!!!
Delicious, expensive, tiny portions, great service.
Love their food and atmosphere, fresh ingredients, and a selection of locally made food and gift items too.
Great food, great service, and I always leave happy and full!
Delicious breakfast. Nice shop on store.
Best local easy food.
Cozy saved great food.
The service is amazing, and I highly, highly recommend the Sicilian omelet and the Crab Cake Benedict.
Very good.
While the crab cake itself was good, my crab cake benedict came with no poached egg on top...How do you forget an egg on an egg’s benedict? I also had the stuffed French toast which was very mushy in texture and sloppily prepared as well. They say it comes with apples, blueberries & cream cheese but what they don’t tell you is that they literally just slice the cream cheese & stick the block into your French Toast. This resulted in two bites that had an absurdly strong cream cheese taste & the rest with absolutely none. I have no problem paying for good, quality food but this just isn’t it.(Below is one of my cream cheese blocks)
Fun place, yummy menu. Love the outdoors dining. Will continue to support eateries who provide this option. Will be back.
Nice sunday lunch spot on the patio
Pretty disappointing, I had ordered a breakfast burrito and the quality wasnt there plus this is a type of place to just throw random items into the burrito so if you have an allergy be sure to let them know
I love this little cafe. This was my first time and I really enjoyed myself and meal. The food was excellent. Great coffee and the atmosphere was amazing. I will be here more often.
Fresh ingredients, made with care. An amazing taste experience that few other restaurants can accomplish. Well done!
Excellent food!
Waiting for more than a hour to be sitting and they were sitting there friends first.
The chilaquiles were some of the most disappointing Ive had in Fresno (while also being the most expensive), and a single extra slice of ham was $5.
So disappointing. Ordered Texas style french toast and it came with two berries butter and syrup. It was a petite order but why only two berries and no custard?
We came here for breakfast. I was impressed! We started off with orange juice, pomegranate juice, and mimosa. The orange juice tasted fresh squeezed just like my mom used to serve us in the mornings. We also had eggs, bacon and waffles. I had my waffles with berries on top. my eggs and bacon were cooked exactly how I like it. And the waffles were delicious too!The art on the walls is unique, it is colorful and makes me feel happy when I walk inside, and I especially liked the long box of colorful flowers along the wall. You can also opt to eat out front in the patio.Next time I am trying the eggs Benedict. Ill let you know how they taste...
This place is great! Ive eaten here 2 times sofar and they have a really good breakfast
Im caught in the middle with this place. Met a friend here for breakfast and coffee and loved the outside patio atmosphere! Our waitress was attentive and friendly. The coffee was meh and the food was good but nothing that I can absolutely rave about. Our ticket was almost 40 dollars for 2 sunrise sandwiches and 2 coffees. The sunrise sandwich if I remember is an egg inside of an English muffin. If you want anything extra in it like avocado or Spinach then you add an extra 2 or 3 dollars for each item that you add. I know organic food is pricier but I probably couldve made a better organic sandwich at home and had some extra money leftover for organic veggies for the rest of the week for the price of this breakfast. But the atmosphere was cute.
Cafe food and the atmosphere here is very good. I love snacking here. There was quick and friendly service. The bill was reasonable I would say. Feels like a place in Los Angeles I liked.
I always enjoy having a meal at The Patio Cafe. Made the way I like it.
Great little place. Yummy food. Friendly service. Try the veggie omelet and the Mediterranean chicken salad. Definitely faves of mine! ❤
This was disappointing:- My table was dirty and not wiped down.- I ordered the sweet potato hash with eggs. Sweet potato was very under cooked, poached eggs were hard due to over cooking.- The dish was over $20 after tax and tip.
Wow!! I love this -- I have visited 4 times now and I have been wanting to do a review since my first visit-- the staff here is very attentive and respectful. The drinks and food are amazing -- I will be coming back again and again.Fast service and good sandwiches. I ordered the vegetarian grilled portobello and it was ready in 5 minutes. The sandwich was made fresh and the Kaiser roll was very good. Service was friendly.
Be on alert. A waitress asked us for our drivers license when we ordered wine. We are over 65 years old and look it. I asked for what purpose. She said it was the policy to look for expired drivers license. I asked why. She said they were instructed to do so. I said I dont think so. Identity thief is what comes to mind. After we got home I called the manager and asked for what purpose are you looking for expired drivers license. He said it was not their policy.
We always have time for Patio Cafe. Super friendly staff. I wish we could have a restaurant like The Patio Cafe in our town. Food is great. I finally ordered something other than the gorgonzola asparagus! Ive moved on to the egg white omelet with spinach and pine nuts. Yummy!
My fav location for Cafe food. Good place to relax and unwind. The staff was very helpful and observant. This place has positive reviews for a reason.
Very nice, good food, friendly service.
Finest food, kind employees, regularly good vibes. They charge convenient rates and the food quality is awesome. Keep it up.
I came to the patio when visiting family in Fresno, the best time I’ve had in a while. Good food, family atmosphere, but what was the best part of evening was “The Hillbilly Jazz band” each member a talent within themselves, and together an explosive awesome sound. From jazzy blues, country and bluegrass, A band that you don’t want to miss.
They have good food and prices are fair. Waiters are nice. I have been here several times with my girl friend and we enjoy coming here because it has a nice atmosphere and prices are affordable. Its nice to be able to eat outside as well.
Cafe food and the scene at this spot is very good. You will not be disappointed in the menu and service. Staff treated us so kindly. Bring your hunger - portions are large.
This is a wonderful place to bring your friends and family. The chef always makes us a delicious, fully-organic vegan meal.Make sure to order a fresh squeezed orange juice. Our server, Ariel, was very attentive and courteous. We will be back.
Nice servers
Cafe food at this place - yummy. Cool location to meet with coworkers. The service here is friendly. Prices are decent for the quality.
The food is great here, fresh & consistent in quality. Love the menu, the stuffed French toast is so good! And the service is great & personable. I love to suggest this place when meeting someone for a meal!
I do not care for this place.
Food is amazing, the waiters and waitresses are nice and helpful. The vibe of the Cafe is very relaxing, and food is priced reasonably.
Super fast service! Amazing food and FRESH SQUEEZED ORANGE JUICE. Hell yes
When I first walked in I noticed the fresh paint on the walls, the bright colors, and decorations. I liked how authentic the Mexican food tasted and their menu had a wide selection of things to eat for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. The food and customer service here is excellent. I ordered a torta and it was huge and I only finished half of it. I will definitely come back again for another taste of Patio Cafe.
Great food. Portions are solid.
Its super expensive. The service wasnt great. They forgot some of our food. The portions are super small. Overall Eh, Id rather eat somewhere else if Im going to spend that kind of money.
Great food and wonderful service. The patio is very nice area to spend time in.
Fresh and healthy meals and great service
Poor service and mediocre food.
Very good food and service.
Bland, uninspired food.... just like the service. If my meal was fresh, why the cold eggs and stale bacon? When I add salt and pepper to my food I know the chef is 100% uninspired or afraid to season. I spend money at restaurants to have fresh food, seasoned with inspiration, and delivered with great service. I will never waste my money at The Patio Cafe again!
The service staff were polite but not friendly. In fact the manager was RUDE!!!! They completely forgot to make my husbands breakfast so we had wait for them to even start his breakfast after ours was completely served letting our food get cold with barely an acknowledgment. After we ate, I realized they put all four of our meals on separate tickets (even though I told them the four of us in our group were together). I stacked them up and put the card on top. She brought them back with the only first one paid asking for the other cards. I explained they are all on the same card. She acted like it was the end of the world. Instead of just ringing the other three meals, she returned the first one put them all four on one ticket then rang them up. This took SEVERAL minutes. When we were finally presented with a bill I noticed the meal prices were completely DIFFERENT from the individual tickets (like breakfast went from 25.00 to 14.00)!? On top of that, I quietly leaned over and said, when yourre struggling this much you may not want to assume I want to pay such a large tip. She yelled at me in front of all of the customers What do you want me to do take away his tip? It was so embarrassing!! I responded, No, I just wanted you to think about it for the future. She RUDELY open the cash register grabbed some cash and tried to hand to my husband. He declined and said we dont want the tip back. She turned to me as we were walking away and GRABBED MY PURSE and shoved the money on top!! As I got outside I realized she had actually shoved 2 twenties in the top of my purse! Shes lucky I dont charge her with assault. We NEVER go back! Unbelievable! I only gave one star because it wont post without it:/
Over priced, mid tier food, lower than average service. Only thing going for it is the outside atmosphere.
A top scene for cafe food. Very filling. I look forward to a return visit. Atmosphere is like a restaurant in Fort Worth I loved.
Good location for tasty cafe food. Arrived at seven, it wasnt crowded.
Great food
Excellent food & music on Friday & Saturday evenings. Always a cool breeze in shade before 6pm on the patio!
Overpriced, service is not great, and the flies will eat your breakfast before you get to. Food lacks seasoning and did I mention its overpriced? Oh but you can buy a jar of fancy handmade jelly lol.
Thank you Patio Cafe for providing quality, healthy and organic food options on your menu and making delicious food. I love your new menu and the Petite portion sizes that you have made available. I had a wonderful brunch this past weekend and the Petite order of your Classic Eggs Benedict was wonderful. Great service too, a true jewel in Fig Garden Village!!
Service and decor were excellent. Very broad menu with a lot of variety. Everything, however, tastes the same. There is no flavor to anything and it is all very bland! It was presented beautifully and they give large portions, I agree the quality is high, but if I wanted to eat fresh I would just buy and prepare it all at home. The pricing is also high, regardless of the area. One breakfast dish can be $16! My friend and I were both not impressed and wont be going back. The only thing seasoning my food were my tears after I realized I was paying $15 for a dish of utter disappointment!
They have amazing food, however their service is horrible. Their not welcoming and they are sooooo slow. Last time my two kids and I eat there we waited over an hour to get our food and they were not busy at all. We almost just left.
Cafe food, mmm, very tasty. I love going here. Looking forward to going back again. Prices were appropriate.
Cafe food, yeah, super yummy. Its so appetizing. Menu is like a place in San Francisco I loved.
NEVER a poor experience. Super fresh and local food! Amazing staff!
Soooooo expensive! I went in here solo just to grab a quick breakfast. I ordered a single pancake and it was $7.99! I was thinking at this price it must be huge, but no, it was a regular, small, 5-inch pancake. A cup of coffee was $3.50. So after one pancake, a cup of coffee, and a tip my total bill was over $14. The pancake was good but it wasnt that good.
Good food & the atmosphere is some times relaxing. It depends on days where they have live bands playing.
Food was full of flavor and service was excellent. Love this place.
Patio is always top notch. Love the chilaquiles and the service rocks. One of the best breakfast spots for me!
Having worked in customer service management for 13 years, I can tell you that business hours are business hours. You open when you open. And you close when you close. All the minutes in between those times are supposed to be spent servicing your customers. From the moment we walked into this cafe on a Sunday (25 minutes till closing time) we were hurried out the door like we were a pest. We were actually greeted with the line “Hello! We are closing!” At least they said hello. So we assured them “Don’t worry. We don’t want anything big from your kitchen. Maybe just a coffee, pastry and some fruit for our toddler.” They obliged by giving us what we asked for and we took a seat on the patio. The server came out about 15 minutes to close and started stacking chairs. Before she had finished she looked up and told us she “needed to collect all the pillows” on the patio benches. In order to not make it anymore awkward, I started to hand her ours because we could just sit on the wooden bench and let our 2 year old finish her tomatoes. The server then became agitated with me and said “I’ll need to lock up the tables too. We are closing!” Still 10 minutes on the clock. So we took the cue and started to wrap things up and leave. By the time the kiddo was in her car seat and my wife was in the car it was a couple minutes to closing time and the area where we had sat was still as we left it. For all the hurrying the server put us through she didn’t even need that time for what she told us it was for. Pretty much took the entire exchange as a passive aggressive BUZZ OFF! Wish I hadn’t tipped her at the register on our check since she really did nothing but the bare minimum for us. This was our first time visiting this cafe and will certainly be the last. Like I said, closed is closed. The business hours on your sign are for conducting business with your customers. Cleanup and get yourself ready to go home after the clock strikes closing time. I gave the cafe 2 stars because the servers chose not to turn us away entirely.
Sad to say, but the server was horrible. We had to get her attention to get a menu. She never came back to ask if we needed anything else and if our food was fine. I will think twice about coming back🙁
The service was good, and food was great. The quality of the food is much better than most others, I presume that is why they priced higher for the meals. I would return recommend as a pass through town again.
