Absolutely loved this place. Fast service, great price, friendly and down to earth staff. Needed my power supply replaced and it was done so fast that I didnt need to head back home. Ill be referring friends and family to this repair center as long as Im in Gainesville.

I was referred to Impact by a friend who said that theyd always done him right, and that has definitely been my experience. These folks are genuinely honest-dealing, helpful, and just nice people to work with.When HP was trying to screw me out of fixing my (still under warranty) laptop, I brought it to these guys. They could easily have taken my money and tried to fix it, but instead they advised me to keep pushing back against the HP people and even told me what to say. And they were right! HP eventually relented and replaced my laptop entirely.They have worked on other equipment for me and I always feel like I can trust what they tell me. As they say, they dont like to waste other peoples money.Thanks so much for everything. Ill continue to come to you guys and to recommend you to everyone I can.

Online, I told them that my laptop had gotten wet, that I had tried to clean it, and that it now would not turn on. I asked if they did component-level board repair, and they told me that they do component-level board repair. They also offered a free diagnostic. When I arrived, they took my laptop and then handed it back to me with the diagnosis of “liquid damage.” When I asked what was liquid damaged, they said the logic board. I asked them to please be more specific, and they said, “it’s just liquid damage, so it will be $500 to $800 to replace the logic board plus more if the keyboard also needs to be replaced.” I asked them about the component-level repair, and they said that someone comes by once per week to do that and takes the laptops, but given that they did not offer this to me as a service, I suppose that this is likely to the end of selling old broken laptops that they purchase inexpensively online. For the $800, I can purchase all of the equipment I could possibly need to complete the repair myself. The trip was a waste of time based on deceit.

Brought in my desktop that was held together basically with hopes and was nonfunctional (thanks Windows). Craig saved a dying system when I really didnt have the money to put down for a new one at the moment. Im incredibly pleased with his work. Full case transfer, great cable management job, everything works as it should. It was done in just a few hours for a price that was great. They really saved the day for me. Just bring your systems here and save yourself the running around and guesswork. Awesome work folks, thank you.

This is definitely not the most customer friendly place of business. I communicated with Craig and another employee. Ive written two reviews and they deserved to be rated excellent. This business deserves the worst rating due to the fact that they are not trustworthy. I am not going to go into specific detail because I dont believe in ripping individuals to shreds, either online or otherwise. Unfortunately, I would feel guilty if I did not warn my fellow Gainesvillians buyer beware.

I had problems getting my custom gaming PC to start up. Luckily, they were able to get the issue fixed in less than a day and even helped me install the OS. Its been 3 weeks and my computer is running great!

I had a problem with my laptop optical drive not reading discs . I took it in to Craig and in less than 10 minutes he had a new drive installed for $50. When there I talked to Craig about problems I was having with my desktop computer, he gave me his opinion on what was needed to get me up and running again so I took it to him the next day and in a few hours he installed a new solid state hard drive and a fresh installation of Windows 10 for a very affordable price. Both my laptop and PC are now running perfectly! Thanks Craig to you and your staff for friendly, affordable, and professional services that you provided to me. I had a Windows update issue (mess) that I mostly fixed, but during that arduous process I assigned a password to access the hard drive. I couldn’t find a way to undo this mistake and so I asked for help. Craig was just excellent. He literally fixed it within a minute of me walking in the door and charged me nothing. He will get my business ‘from the beginning’ next time Microsoft, etc., causes me problems.

Took my home built PC into the shop to upgrade a motherboard, power supply, and replace my CPU cooler with an AIO. As somebody who has built computers for years, and builds them as a hobby, I just couldnt be asked to take my own computer apart and re-route a bunch of cables. These guys did an excellent job, and did so quickly! Cable management was phenomenal. One thing to note is that they will NOT install manufacturer refurbished parts. These guys were upfront, honest, and a pleasure to do business with.

They were able to repair my sons laptop in time for him to go back to school. Amazing friendly service and very affordable.

I love the customer service I receive in that office. David and Craig are great to work with and are always very helpful and professional. They are willing to work with you and help you with any need you might have. Usually, the problem is taken care of in a very timely manner. I would highly recommend that office to anyone. Used to this shop for an estimate on my lightning damage on my desktop and it did not disappoint. Service was friendly and quick, the employee (owner?) was knowledgeable and honest, and the diagnostic was turned around in just one day.

Walked in with a cracked screen on my gaming laptop, I was in and out in less than 15 minutes! Best Buy told me the fix would be over $450, Impact Computers did it for $300 less. If I have any other issues, Ill definitely be coming back :) Plus, their dog is really cute.

Im not one to write reviews, but this place is top notch. The guy who works up front, not sure of his name, and the owner, Craig, were great. I brought a practically brand new 900+ laptop to them to replace a screen I unfortunately cracked. Other places quoted me $320, and these guys did it in 4 days for $160. The repair was quick and I was well informed of the process. Thanks, Impact!

Before I moved I took my laptop computer to a different shop as when I lifted the screen the computer would separate. 3 weeks later I had the same problem. I then took it to impact computers where Craig not only fixed my computer but did it in a timely manner and also informed me that the part the other place replaced was the wrong part, which is why it broke again. His price was great and even lower than the original place I took it to. The quality of his work far outweighs the price. He even took the time to show me what the problem was and also informed me of another issue it had and he did not push the sale on me. Craig was fast, efficient and a pleasure to do business with. From his personal experience, David easily understood my saga about my adorable kitten helping with my writing by rolling over the laptop keyboard - inadvertently creating several undefined macros that stopped all functionality. By the conclusion of our initial conversation, David had already diagnosed the issues, resolved them, and wished me luck with my project!! Its been a while since I visited the shop. I had a problem with my Lenovo laptop power jack. The repair coat was $130 and it will take a week ( $100 for the labor and $30 for the part). I WAS SURE It is overpriced and he wasnt flexible with that. The main reason Im writing this review is the following. I was able to fix my laptop in less than 10 mins with a genuine part I bought from amazon for $12. So, I think everyone should try to fix and have going to a repair shop the last choice.What you failed to understand is that I am not supposed to be OK with what YOU think is a competitive price based on surrounding shops. Claiming $130 for an easy fix that took less than 10 mins is no near a fair price including whatever expenses you need to pay. I am an electrical engineer and I know what is a reasonable price to pay for such fix and if this was the pricing standards in FL, it does not mean I should be OK with it.The low star rating is because the technician lied about the part cost, not what you think that I hadnt got my reasonable deal.Maybe I need to clear this out one last time! since apparently this is getting nowhere. The item cost $12 + free shipping, Your profit is more than 50%. The other thing you did not spend even 2 min taking with me about the price or anything plus I already said fixing the issue shouldnt take more than 10 min. Neither the part nor labor cost is FAIR to ME!This review is meant for customers, I DONT CARE about business. Last thing I did see other repair shops and they were around the same price. As I said before this doesnt mean I need to be OK with the price and I am no longer interested in further justification.

Excellent service. Staff is very knowledgeable and will teach you how to fix future problems on your own. Extremely reasonable and fair price!! (A lot better than Best Buy/Geek Squad). It took only 15 minutes to diagnose as well as repair my computer. If you want to save time and money this is the best place in Gainesville.

Absolutely amazing place! Just stopped by with my external harddrive that wouldnt power up. The housing was bad. They were able to replace it for $42 and all of my information was saved easily. They were super quick, kind and wanted to help solve our problem at the lowest cost. I would highly recommend going to them for any of your computer problems!

I recently took my computer tower to Craig at Impact computers to optimize it specifically for music production. He helped me immediately, showed me that I didnt have to spend as much $$ on it as I originally projected and helped answer all of my hardware questions. GREAT experience overall! anytime I need to make an upgrade or modification, this is the guy Im going to. I also call when I have questions and its very nice to talk to an expert instead of searching through blogs or threads.

Buys and sells computers, computer parts, and is honest to a fault, will tell you when you get the better deal somewhere else even if it means they dont make a sale. You cannot find a more honest place to get your computer needs.

I have been taking my computers to Impact Computers for years. They are extremely knowledgeable, very professional and helpful and have often gone the extra mile for me. They have patiently answered my questions and many phone calls when I was looking for a computer for my daughter and then my son. I have bought 2 computers from them, had my computers debugged had them download documents and pictures and purchased several accessories. I like taking my computers to the same people (Craig and David) and people I trust. If you are having computers issues, looking to purchase a used computer which they have onsite, or just need computer help give them a call.

Excellent service. My desktop died and they diagnosed that it needed burying. I bought another desktop from them and they kindly loaded my printer onto it. Couldnt ask for better treatment and professionalism.

They are excellent, and accommodating even if you build your own PC. They tested my PC with their parts for about $20, and let me put that towards them installing parts(That I bought, with no extra fee from them) for about $75 so I didnt have to worry about damage. They let me call several times to ask questions, and helped advise me for what I should buy as a replacement for free. Thanks

Staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Within minutes of walking through the door, we had worked out a solution for my broken laptop. If it hadnt been for 1 compatibility issue, we would have had a new laptop within the hour. Even after we werent able to solve our problem right there in the store, they emailed me even more information in order to help us make the best decision possible. So grateful to these kind folks!

My laptop fell and the monitor broke. Upon discovering this, I immediately took it to Geek Squad at Best Buy, who told me itd be at least two weeks before it would be fixed. UBreakIFix was not much better either. However, Impact Computers had my monitor replaced (for less than those other two companies) in less than 30 minutes. They even did some other work to my laptop within that timewindow for free. I highly recommend this company for laptop repairs before trying anywhere else in Gainesville. Thanks guys. Also, if youre stressed out about your computer, their cute dog will make you feel better.

Got a price quote of $300 on my macbook the day before, came back today and owner tried to hand me $90 in cash. When I reminded him of the $300, he said he cant do any better than $200.edit: idk how to comment to your response so I will through an edit. You thoroughly diagnosed my computer BEFORE you gave the price quote of $300 AFTER learning that it had a bad battery. The only reason I even went to the shop was because you said you could not give me a price quote or range before seeing the computer and doing diagnosis when I was on the phone call. You were the one that told me the battery was bad after looking at the system report during diagnosis and then offering $300 as your final price. Please do not say that I didnt mention it had a bad battery like I was intentionally trying to rip you off. I specifically remember waiting for you to do the diagnosis and to finish appraising the computer BEFORE giving me the final price of $300. You specifically said that you would buy it at $300 and probably sell at around $600, or I could sell it myself on facebook for around $500. Other sites had offered $214 yes, but Apples main site had offered $380 as a trade-in for my laptop which was why I initially left after your quote to sleep on the decision to sell to you, sell it myself, or trade-in. If you had realized that you could not make money from this purchase after I left you could have said so, instead of making me out to be a scheming rip-off withholding bad information about the computer. It does NOT make sense that you did not give me a price quote over the phone and yet give me the $300 quote WITHOUT diagnosing the computer at which point you would have known it had a bad battery. My Lenovo laptops hinge broke and I originally took it to BestBuy GeekSquad to get a quote. They told me the cables were likely severed (untrue, it still worked) and that it would cost the price of a new laptop to fix as the warranty was expired. Took it to Impact Computers who not only diagnosed the problem as a defective hinge, but also let me know that this problem was common with the Lenovo Ideapad laptops which may be covered by the Lenovo manufacturers warranty. So, I called up Lenovo and got the laptop fixed for the price of shipping. Impact could have quoted me a price to just fix it at their store but instead were honest and saved me a ton of money. Now they are my first option for any other computer issues I have.

Great group of guys there, should of went into the mobile market and feel theyre losing money because of it. Mostly handle people with little computer experience and can talk forever with someone who knows there stuff which is great.

I highly recommend Impact Computers for any computer issue. They are honest, reliable, and obviously care about customer service. I bought a new desktop computer from them for hundreds less than I would have paid at a big-box store, and they were able to build in the programs I wanted without all the junk I DIDNT want, like games, or Microsoft adware. Since then, Ive seen them for other repairs for two laptops and one voice recorder. They didnt charge me a cent for two of the repairs because they were simple. I trust them completely and would recommend them to anyone with a computer.

Craig is a really generous and helpful man. I had a new SSD and tried to install OS for a whole week. After failed so many times and wasted two weekends, I came here desperately to ask for help to install OS. Craig spent an afternoon and told me I had a bad connection between SSD and the motherboard, and I should try to buy a M.2 SSD. With his valuable information I fixed my laptop on my own that night, in only 2 hours. He helped me identify the crucial problem, but didnt charge me at all. His kindness and help is the brightest light to me in this frustrating week

I had a walk-in repair first thing on a Monday morning. They were friendly, not crowded, and diagnosed the problem within 10 minutes. Usually I do my own computer repairs, but this time I thought it was the motherboard. Turns out it was a solid-state hard-drive failing. They had a new one in and I picked up the PC before noon. Price was very satisfactory as well!

My mac would not turn on and was beeping. Geek Squad told me to buy a new one. I took it into Impact Computes and for an AMAZING price I walked out with my laptop working at its best in less the 15 minutes.

My computers OS was corrupted due to faulty Windows 10 installation. They repair it by replacing the corrupted OS with Windows 8.1. In doing so wiped out my Microsoft Office. When I called to complain I was told that I was informed ahead of time. But in fact I was not. So in addition to the repair cost I have to replace Microsoft Office.

My computer randomly wouldnt turn on the other day so I decided to Google some Computer Repair shops around town. After calling a shop that couldnt fix my computer they actually recommended Impact Computers to me. I called the shop and spoke to Craig who invited me to come in. Inside the shop was David (I believe that was his name) who greeted me extremely friendly. He took a look at my computer and discovered that there was actually no problem at all. I took up about 20-30 mins of his time and they did not charge me a cent. Not to mention, he was extremely pleasant to talk to the entire time I was there.All in all, I HIGHLY recommend Impact Computers to anyone in the Gainesville area.
