Have been through more IT companies than I care to remember over the years for my business. I was sick and tired of the lack of response, “geek speak” and condescending tone being the norm. Was lucky enough to have another business owner refer me to Potomac Computer Services and I can’t even begin to underscore how different it has been working with this professional company.Communication in basic terms I can relate to my business, very responsive, proactively identifying issues I wouldn’t otherwise know exist and all of this for a fair and reasonable price. I spoke to both Matt and Stewart about the problems I was having with my work computers. They offered a free small business analysis and this is where so many issues I thought the Geeks had fixed were found. Not only did they get everything up and running properly, they set up a proper online back-up system and I feel a LOT more confident in the security and safety of my work data.

My GO TO company for computer problems. =) I have known the owner for many many years and when I recently had computer issues, I dropped off my computer knowing that it was in great hands. I was given great advice, a very reasonable quote and now my machine is running problem free. Finding a good, reliable computer company is not longer hard. You do not have to look any more.
We contacted Potomac Computer Services because our (now previous) IT company was not being responsive and had not addressed several open issues that we were aware of. Stewart and Matt visited our office the following day and not only addressed the known issues quickly but we also took advantage of their complimentary systems analysis.To say we were shocked by the amount of issues that existed from the previous IT company is an understatement. While I am not technical (this is why we work with 3rd party professionals), I know that our server not being backed up properly, anti-virus protection being expired on half our computers and programs running in the middle of the day and slowing down the network are obvious issues. Unfortunately, we trusted the previous company and had it not been for reaching out to Potomac Computer Services we would not have known the significant issues that existed.I highly recommend Stewart and Matt for any small business that either has an existing IT resource and wants a 2nd opinion or is looking to add professional IT services to their organization. They did a fantastic job, proactively identified major issues that non-technical people such as myself rely on professionals to communicate and did all of this at a very reasonable price (less than the previous IT company!).This is also a cautionary tale. Do not stick with an IT company just because you are comfortable with them or because they lull you into thinking they are experts. We are lucky that our data is now protected, our computers (and employees) are much more productive and we have a non-technical blueprint from a professional IT resource. But we never should have waited this long to get a 2nd or even 3rd opinion.
By far the best overall experience I have had with a computer consulting company. Identified and provided clear options to resolve issues with a crashed computer, completed the work on time and on budget and will be reviewing our business network for ongoing service.

Very responsive, reasonable pricing and nothing but positive things to say about the entire process.Made the mistake of clicking on a link I knew I shouldnt have and had a virus and what I though was ransomware. Matt was able to remove the virus, verify that it was not actually ransomware and suggested how to avoid this in the future. Also set me up with online backup to protect my data from any future issues like this.

I had four people come out to fix the problem with my computer and nothing worked. I didnt want to go back to another large company and started researching and found Potomac Computer Services. Matt came the day after I called, fixed the problem in twenty minutes, and explained to me what was wrong. I would definitely recommend PCS and will continue to use them. Nadine
Spoke to Matt about a new tower. The machine is freezing occasionally. Because I built it myself they refused to even look at it. Matt assumed that I broke something during installation. Despite my claims that I believed it was an intermittent internal connection, and that I really just need a professional to go over the computer and at least diagnose where the problem is. But since Matt was either too busy, had too many customers, or just didnt like me, he refused to help. Very disappointing phone call.## Response to Potomac Computer Services response: ##If all Id said, was that I have a tower that was freezing up occasionally. Id bet youd have looked at it/agreed to work on it. But since I committed the sin of trying to point to where I think the problem might be, and what Id already tried, (I.E. Tell you your business), I am refused service. Chalk it up to bad tech dude chemistry. Your unctuous response doesnt fool anyone. Refusing service is something that should only be done in extreme situations. Which this was not.
