The best place for your whip professional clean organized the crew π π
I took my 2001 C5 Corvette to Restoration Rods to have some extensive work done. Rear engine seal, Engine pan gasket, clutch, clutch slave cylinder, and water pump. Had my car back in 2 days and in perfect running order. This shop does excellent work. I especially like being able to enter the shop and looking at my car while on the lift and seeing the progress. These guys understand real car guys!
Jerald and the team down at Restoration Rods are truly outstanding at what they do. If you own a hot rod you understand that they can be high maintenance to keep running in prestige condition. With that being said, the crew will make sure your car or truck is diagnosed and fixed the right way, the first time. They work at a caliber that is above the rest.My truck had a hard shake sitting in park and would get worse while driving. I was told by another shop it was my drive shaft that needed to be replaced. I took my truck to Restoration Rods and within minutes they where able to diagnose the issue. Turns out the other place that installed my motor had put my flex plate on backwards and damaged it in the process. The spark of lugs that where installed where incorrect and eventually would burn up. They went above and beyond to tune my motor and make sure the correct parts where swapped out to make sure it runs smooth and operates correctly. If you have any doubts about this shop, donβt! They have earned my business ten fold.
I had an appt for a LOF and showed up early. They got to work on my V10 rig prior to my appt time. Everyone acted like professionals. The shop and customer areas are spotless. Great shop! Great service! Great value!
Brought my car in for inspection and the tech was rude and wouldnt even talk to me. Just flat out ignored me and acted mad that he had to even be there. Always thought these guys were better than that. You could pretend to value your customers at least
These guys are honest and reasonably priced.
Restoration Rods is the best around! They always get straight to the problem and provide fast and friendly service. Highly recommended.
This is now my go to shop. I trust this shop with all of my familys cars. Would highly recommend.
My parents n crew are all awesome I love working their and growing
I bought a car from them. They seemed like great people. After my purchase I saved up my money and bought some upgrades for it. I have tried to reach out to them many times over the last 4 months. The person who answers the phone says he will call back. Not once have they called me back to say no or yes that they would work on my car. I was planning on spending more money than I should there. That will never happen now. Hopefully you have better luck with them.
Few of my buddies have taken in there babies to get some work. He was way overcharged and they didnt warranty any of their work.. Stay away from this place.
Stopped in after calling to inquire about replacing my engine on my oil pig of a truck. This big tall friendly guy comes out and knows which transmission I have at a glance. Then he tells me my options and pricing on the whole job. Clean showroom and cool performance stuff to see here.
Wow, very professional, cool place. Steve
Took my truck in, still isnβt running correctly constant backfires, no desire to stand behind their work. Wonβt go backβ¦. Especially for the rate they charge.
I have taken my car to Restoration Rods multiple times in the last few years and I am always happy with their service! They are quick at fixing cars and have great customer service. I have an old car that used to shut off when idling and no other auto shop could diagnose the issue. One visit to Restoration Rods and my car ran super smooth and idled great. 10/10 recommend!
Hands down the most amazing shop and craftsmanship. This place has got it going on...
****** BEWARE******They are far from honest, reliable or willing to stand behind their work!I took my 1989 Jeep Wrangler in to have the engine rebuilt and checked for overall safety. 4,260 miles after the first rebuild the engine seized and overheated. Brent claimed it was not his fault and claimed I caused the engine to overheat on a cold December night?? I reluctantly let him rebuild the engine again, which I was charged. 2,618 miles after the second rebuild the engine began to knock. This time he admitted to faulty work and said he would warranty and rebuild the engine a 3rd time. It sat at his shop for over 3 months before he got around to it. When I was finally able to pick up my jeep it was still running poorly. This time I went for a second and third opinion by 2 different certified mechanics. They both said the engine was in poor shape and did not appear to have just been rebuilt. I confronted Brent Rule and he said it was not his problem anymore and they were done with the jeep. I had to end up taking him to court, wasting almost a year of my time in litigation and finally was able to settle out of court.I had one of the other certified mechanics tear the engine down to diagnose and document the problems. They found old worn and broken parts were put back in, there were 2 cracks in the block, Brent and his team tried to cover up cracks in the manifold with a sealant, there was low compression, unusual scaring on cylinder walls, abnormal piston wear and much much more!Donβt let appearances fool you! Make your own informed decisions. Hope this helps****** The Following is an update to the reply posted by Brent Rule*******The response submitted is mainly false and incorrect. I gave him every opportunity to make things right, instead he choose to ignore and denied to help correct the problems. (Among many of the problems, cracks in the block and the manifold are not normal wear.) If there was any truth to his response he would have at least attempted to defend his actions. Instead, again, he choose to ignore our request to back up his claims. Everything is very well documented of the damage to the engine of which his attorneys were not able to defend and decided to settle out of court. Not sure why he feels this is an insult but rather a simple review of the well documented experience I had to let others make their own informed decision.
Brent and his team at Restoration Rods has been servicing my daily drivers, DIY pickup, and classic muscle car for well over a decade. Every time I bring one of them in for regular maintenance or a more serious issue I receive an accurate, honest analysis of what they are going to do and if there is a problem what is most likely causing it and the options that are available to me to resolve it. Nobody ever tries to tell me my battery needs to be replaced when it doesnβt, or that I need a transmission flush when I donβt, or I need to have my flux capacitor recalibrated like they do at all the chain tire stores. One of Restoration Rodsβ specialties is performance engineering. When you walk into their customer consignment sales showroom and look through the observation windows into the shop you will see things like a dual turbocharger kit being installed on a Hellcat, superchargers being installed on Mustangs, suspensions being tuned on auto-cross Porches, or a Meridian Speedway sprint car running on the chassis dyno sprinkled inbetween with RAV4βs, F150βs, and Tahoes.About 10 years ago I showed up at Brentβs and gave him a 45 year old Hilborn stack injection manifold, a box with a ECU and some cables in it, and my 360 Cuda and told him that I wanted to drive this combo on the street as well as race it at Firebird Raceway. This combo has never been done before anywhere so there were no instructions or similar vehicle to reference. Long story short, Brent and his team engineered the manifold and engine to work together, programmed and tuned the ECU software, and not only does it drive easily on the street it has won me 4 track championships, 3 NHRA Wallys, and over 50 individual class wins at Firebird. I give Brent and his team Grade A.
We have been working with Brent and Jerald for a few years. They have the best selection of Phenix AN fittings in town! They are honest and fair. Would recommend to family.
I had a special situation with my baby - a 57 Chev that has sat in my garage for almost 30 years. After checking around and talking with folks I decided to give Resto Rods a try.I am incredibly impressed with the way Brent and has staff treated me and my car. Not that it was to be expected, but because of the situation, he took the extra time to inspect the car beforehand and explain options to me. I ended up going with his shop because of his knowledge, professionalism, and no-nonsense attitude. The shop is always immaculate. Jerald is the best parts guy I have seen and takes the time to explain options. Scott is always friendly and willing to help. Thanks guys... for getting her back on the road again. The work done is SOLID and her engine roars. I am one happy camper.
The only place in town that I trust with my car.I had to come back and edit my comment because of that Bill Nixon guy that left the bad comment. I cant believe how easy it is for some people to lie...I know the owner personaly and the Mr Mad you are refering to is his mother and she is a very nice lady...the dogs u mention are the sweetst two dogs anybody is going to come across...my sons always play with them when Im there, the only danger from the dogs is ..they are going to lick you to death lol.Like I mentioned above this is the only place I trust with my car. I own a $100k car and expect perfection when it comes to the service and they provide it..their showroom and shop is as clean as a hospital (go check it out for yourself) so of course they are going to ask ppl not to touch the cars and I like that...plus a lot of times they will have 6-7 cars in the show room that are for sale... Collectors cars...very expensive. I was raised to look and not touch if you werent thats your problem but dont go around spreading lies about Restoration Rods especially since you are a google guide like me. Its not right buddy
The most knowledgeable and reliable shop in the Treasure Valley. I recommend them to friends and business associates as they will service personal as well as fleet vehicles. You cant go wrong with Rods.
Brent and his crew are great. We bring in all of our fleet vehicles whenever something goes wrong with them. They always do great work and get it done promptly.
Amazing experience. This shop is extremely knowledgeable and will find a way to make it happen. When youre a person with a specific custom vision with your car, or if you just need your driverside window repaired this is the place that makes it happen. No BS, no talk-ups, right to the point with the get it done attitude. Solid work and did i mention clean? Really happy with my work I had done here I will be back for more. Local, Professional and clean.
Clean well up kept and knowledgeable staff.
Amazing people and service!
Quick update (March 30, 2021), these guys did it again, brought my baby in for some drivetrain upgrades, and while they had it they found and fixed an on going issue Ive had with my active exhaust modes, they ordered the part and even scheduled me to have it fixed the day the new part comes in from Portland before I even knew they figured it out!!! If you need anything, I mean anything for your normal car or hotrod/ weekend beast do yourself and your car a favor and skip the dealership, go to the real professionals at Restoration Rods.....I couldnt be happier!I just had Brent and his amazing crew build my Mustang for heavy track abuse, and I couldnt be happier. It came back cleaner than I dropped it off for one thing. The work they did looks better than factory. Brent had great ideas that were less expensive to do and provided greater results than what I came in with my build list. He listened to what I wanted to accomplish, and then made it happen. In fact he talked me out of doing things that wouldnt give any results other than cost money. They worked on my car with the care that you would give to your own favorite grandmas car should she ask for a fire-breathing-dragon of a steet-able racecar. I came out of there having spent 3 thousand less than I was expecting to, with a car that produces twice what I thought I could get for the money. With Brents racing background, he really knows what he is talking about, and his advice in my build was just out-of-the-park-home-run amazing! Great guy to talk with and discuss all things automotive. If you have a car that needs fixing or perhaps an additional 600 hp to make that drive to the grocery store more lively or need to reach that next 100 mph club level out at Firebird Raceway, the best option on this hemisphere is Restoration Rods. I was treated with respect and so was my dad when we went to pick up my car. I felt like I had bought my car from him instead of the dealership honestly with how well I was treated. I even got a follow up call the next day, just to make sure I was happy with everything!!!!!......who even does that anymore????? They take pride in what they do and it shows....a real Gearhead Speed Shop for people who love cars. I wouldnt take my Mustang (or another car) anywhere else. Did I mention these guys are amazing?
I really enjoyed my experience with Restoration Rods. I had only a few minutes with Brent, the owner but he is very professional and said he was raised to do the best job he can.Gerald, one of the employees was on point for me on my repairs and he was also very professional. He was kind and engaged me multiple times in conversation. He also answered many questions about my car and the repair process. The repairs themselves went very smoothly. The mechanics they had working on my car were fast, efficient and seem to be very proficient in their fields. I greatly enjoyed the shop itself. They had a ton of awesome classic cars and I felt very taken care of when I was there.
Wonderful wonderful people excellent customer service Im so happy that I find out now they have a connection with Ronald McDonald house because my daughter was there and if it wasnt for Ronald McDonald house and all of their connections my daughter may not be so thank you guys so much at restoration rods red rose you do wonderful things for awesome people and thank you again
From Australia...called in to look at some cars on display...met the manager and introduced us to the owner...got the full shop tour...great looking business and a top bunch of blokes..thank you again guys.
Cool inventory
$1600 later and they fixed my starter. Thanks. Uhg great place if you have a lot of money to burn.
Very rude called over to get some help identifying a rear end for my mustang build and he told me google it. Dont think ive tried that? Could of had my buisiness rebuilding it not now!!!!
The staff at Restoration Rods was great. They got our car problem fixed in record time and under budget. I appreciated that they did not try to upsell me on any additional work that wasnt necessary. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family and will continue to take my car there for future repairs.
Have been doing business with them since they opened. Very friendly and talented. Show room is spectacular and shop is the cleanest Ive ever seen.
Jerald at restoration Rods is the most knowledgeable parts and diagnostic technician Ive ever met in my 40+ years of working on many different vehicles. Brent and the staff are organized machines that get your vehicle in and out super fast and get the job done right, THE FIRST TIME! Thats hard to find nowadays... This is the only shop i trust to work on my vehicles! Highly reccomended and competitive pricing to boot! Thank you Restoration Rods for going the extra mile and taking pride in your work!
Tried to take my vehicle in today. I had my wife meet me here to give me ride back to our house.I entered and was greeted by an angry woman behind the desk. Her greeting was to look at me like I was crazy for daring to enter the showroom. My wife and two year old were greeted by two dogs that were running around the showroom. The dogs ran up barking at them.Since this was my first time ever visiting and since there were 7-8 cars in the front showroom, I inquired of the Mrs. Angry, Is this where I would come for a repair? It didnt look like the typical repair check in area that you might find at other businesses. She replied, Say What?I repeated my question, though taken back by her angry reply. My two year old was fascinated by the red cars and trucks in the showroom. But the dogs kept barking and Mrs. Angry didnt say whether they were a danger or not. Just let them bark.Mrs. Angry said to my wife, do you need something? My wife replied that she was there to pick me up.I filled out the form from to check my car in and told Mrs. Angry that I wanted to ask about performance enhancement as well to beef up my towing ability. After waiting a couple of minutes. Mr. Mad emerged from the back. My wife was holding my two year up to see inside a car and Mr. Mad said to her, Dont let his feet touch the car. (which she wasnt)I said to Mr. Mad, I would like to see about performance enhancem......(interruption)Mr Mad: To my wife Thats a $90,000 car hes touching!I asked him, do you think he is hurting the vehicle?Mr. Mad replied, I dont need him scratching it.My thoughts are that you must be using some really, really, really bad vehicle paint if my two-year olds soft skin can scratch it.I got my keys back and said I would be taking the vehicle somewhere else and leaving a review.Mr. Mad: Okay as he walks off.So, if you enjoy being treated poorly, Restoration Rods is the place for you. I guess the dogs can have their wet noses and dog hair on the $90,000 vehicle but dont dare try to do business with them.
I had a supercharger installed on my 2016 Corvette. The work performed was well done, and I have no complaints about the workmanship or my interactions during the install process. I was allowed to drop in and take pictures during the build, and the staff was very kind. My only complaint is my experience after the installation. After the supercharger was installed, I noticed a loud noise coming from the engine bay. I brought this up to Brent many times and expressed my concern. Initially, he shrugged it off as me being paranoid and focusing on every little noise. Then later he said it could be tip in timing and maybe a little knock, which he said is normal (engine knock is never normal). Keep in mind, he never took the time to actually diagnose the problem during these weeks of my concern. Finally, he rode in my car as I reproduced the noise and told me he couldnt hear anything, but maybe he heard it once. I actually remember telling him he should have his hearing checked, or get another technician to ride with me that may have better hearing. He told me to give it a coupe of more weeks to see if my car would adjust automatically. When I contacted Brent again weeks later to confirm the noise was still there and at the same time told him I was interested in doing more work such as headers and exhaust, he once again brushed me off and refused to do any more work as he thinks that I would just be nit picky about every little noise that the car would make. He continued to brush me off and refused to diagnose my problem. After months of frustration, I took my car to Throttle Works. The first thing they did was test drive my car while attached to a computer to monitor my engine to eliminate things such as timing issues, or engine knock. Brent never did this. Next, Throttle Works placed the car on their dyno, popped the hood, reproduced the noise, and immediately located the issue. It was a bad tensioner. It took Throttle Works 20 minutes to find the issue and 2 hours to fix it.While the initial experience was very good, after I paid my $10K and the job was done, the customer service was horrendous. I once asked Brent if he gave a military discount as I am a disabled veteran. He said no, but he would take good care of me. Unfortunately he did not live up to his word.
I took my 99 Jeep to restoration rods for the first time last week to fix and oil leak. From the first moment I walked in the door, the auto mechanic shop experience was clearly different than what Ive seen in the past. No disorganized office, dirty bathrooms, or cigarette smoke. They got right on the job and finished it same day. I rarely write reviews on businesses but this was truly worthy. I will definitely recommend them in the future.
Nice cars
Brent, Scott, and team were very professional. They got my 68 camaro running great!
PRICES ARE REASONABLE AND THEY REALLY KNOW THEIR JOB!
Awesome shop! Cheap? No.... if you want cheap look elsewhere, but if you want quality work, Restoration Rods will do it!
Showroom so clean you could eat off the floor. Transitioning to the shop shows that the janitor spends just as much time there. Unbelievably clean workspaces. Brent and the crew were all extremely professional, and the power upgrades they installed on my 2017 mustang gt worked great. This place is like all the awesome restoration shops you see on TV, but without all the arrogant and tattoed jerks strutting around acting like prima Donnas. Their phone number is now in my phone contact list and they will be getting all my mechanic business that I cant do myself.
Pulled in today on my motorcycle with teenage son on back. We wanted to checkout this shop and talk about an idea I have for a classic car I own.Apparently one needs to tread lightly on first visit because a lot of people cut through their parking lot. I made the mistake of looking at a very nice early 50s F100 there on the lot rather than just parking and walking in.A guy who looks just like Poncharelliβs partner on CHiPs started whistling at me and said HEY this isnβt a road !Initially I had no idea what he was taking about then realized he had mistaken me for someone abusing use of his parking area.Very clean and organized business from what I could see before being chased away.Probably does good work.I see the owner posted an explanation so Iβll give it a four star.
Very neat and organized shop. Shop looks like they only do work on expensive vehicles but they are very reasonable and work on all types of cars.
Would not take my vehicle there if they were the last garage in town. No customer service. And very rude.
Knowledgeable people, super clean, gorgeous showroom.
