Small sandwhich shop with a few British items for sale (very expensive). Disappointing selection of pastries for a British bakery. American style sodas - lots of ice! LOL. And no free refills. Some books and puzzles for little kids to play with, kind of dirty. Tea services offered (see pic). Worlds smallest Cornish pasty (see pic). And very small kids food portions. Terribly disappointing over all. This place was on my places to visit list for a long time. Glad I went, but we wont be back.
Nice little cafe, clean and cozy. Great food and wonderful staff. Nice Little English touches. Check out their baked goods youll gain weight just looking at them. Owner is delightful and loves her job.
Great little cafe! Delicious food, coffee, and baked treats! The woman that owns the cafe (as well as the rest of the staff) is very friendly and eager to make suggestions if you are unsure of what to try.Everything that I had the opportunity to try was fantastic especially if it has the RASPBERRY JAM! Trust me.The portions are not huge, but this isnt a steakhouse so what do you expect?I will definitely be returning!
Didnt get to try any of the amazing looking menu items from the breakfast menu but Ill most definitely be back for some of that soon. Great coffee, tons of choices, and the pastries were fantastic too. Got some free chocolate for first time and it was incredible. Aside from the quality of what they serve common the service itself was also immaculate. Everyone we spoke to was bright and cheery and happy to go over menu items and just make small talk. Absolutely lovely atmosphere. This may be one of my favorite places in Arizona.
My husband and I snuck away for a quick coffee. We loved it! The staff was super friendly. We brought home cookies for our kids and they were fantastic! Already looking forward to our next visit!!
Unfortunately this place has closed. If you want a comfortable breakfast or lunch spot with a creative menu, great baked goods, and incredible artisan chocolates then this is your spot. This is a place to sit back and enjoy chatting or reading your book. Not fast food.
Delicious food & the specialty coffees are delightful!! Personable service. Sharon is the best cupcake maker. Love stopping in at least once a week for breakfast or lunch. We all need to help these small-owned businesses thrive in our communities!!
Wonderful local coffee shop! My wife and I came here for the first time and loved it. The service, food and drinks were all great! We will definitely be back. Cheers!
This place is AMAZING!!! I wanted to find a coffee shop that wasnt so cooperate and this is absolutely perfect. The service is outstanding and everyone here is kindhearted and wants to make sure you have everything you need. The food and coffee are delicious and if its your first time here, you get a free piece of chocolate! I will be coming back here:)
I think Im still a little bit in shock from my visit to this restaurant this morning. I used to come here all the time with the old owners and wanted to grab breakfast to go today. I walked in ready to order and the new owner says Did you really just walk in here with a Starbucks coffee? I thought she was kidding around because I know its also a coffee shop but I didnt bring my Starbucks in to offend them simply for it not to melt in the 107degree car outside. I mean how long would it take to get breakfast to go? She then tells me that there is a law that you cannot bring outside drinks into any Establishment in AZ. I dont know if thats true but the waitress looks at me and asks if I would like breakfast and I say yes and the new owner was not having it. Very rudly she and another employee tell me that I should try their coffee. I just bought a $5 cup of coffee Im not going to throw it away. She told me I could only get food to go. That was the plan but Ive never been treated so rudely in my Life by an Establishment so I left. I wont promote a business that treats people that way. I was also the only one there. Dont waste your time going here. The old owners were amazing people and so kind. Sad that their legacy is ruined.
The owner is an independent and free spirit and it shows in her cooking. She makes a homegrown version of classics and all of them are delicious. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. There are a few places to sit and have a cup of delicious coffee!
Coffee was mild and smooth, chocolate was also good. The Italian cookie was dry, but the other pastries were not bad. Went with a friend and she felt pressured to purchase chocolate... Personally, I felt that the staff was lovely and extremely friendly. If I were in the area Id stop by for the coffee and the atmosphere.
Rayners is a lovely UK influenced cafe and bakery. Recently, we feared that it would close, as the owners were ready to retire. Sharon Bradford has stepped up to keep this beloved business thriving. Try Rayners, I am certain that you will like it!
Greek Chicken Pita sandwich. So big that I had to bring half of it home. Maybe thats because I started with a 16 oz Benjamin Breve latte! Service, food, coffee and chocolate were all AMAZING! Friendliest place. I will be back.
Had an awesome lunch with my love here. The food is amazing. There are a ton of drink and dessert options. I love the decor and environment of the Cafe. We are definitely coming back
Excellent sandwiches, I had the black forest ham with brie and it was amazing. really good coffee and excellent service. Definitely coming back! Thank you!
Not a big fan of sandwiches but a friend took me here for lunch. Tried the Turkey with cranberry relish sandwich. Omg- to die for! Have been there several times since then and always get this sandwich. Dessert display case has all kinds of tiny sets to tempt you. Its a keeper!
Sharon and her crew are the best! Doesnt matter if youre not from the UK, the food is great! Save room for some of their awesome desserts or treats. You WILL come back for more!
Went here for lunch.-The food was excellent.-The chocolate was smooth, flavorful, and not too sweet.-We had to get an extra shot of espresso to make our lattes strong enough, but the flavor was excellent.-The service is super friendly, theyll even take you to the back room and show you how they make the chocolate.
Lovely cafe. Offers a decent selection if food and they offer gluten free options which is great. The choice of flavours for drinks is amazing. Definitely recommend!
This little gem is up for sale. Im praying the new owners keep it the same. They provided a variety of pastries for my daughters wedding. Im still trying to figure out my favorite. All so tasty.
My chocolate rose coffee was great, but my husband was disappointed in his chocolate orange one. The pasty was pretty good. Loved the almond croissant! A little too sweet, but still something I crave.
The cafe is small, but full of history and cozy. The food is amazing! The owner pulls it all together by being friendly, knowledgable and personable. I will definitely return again, especially for the crumpets.
Very good breakfast and lunch!! Coffee is delicious and they have many different flavored preparations to choose from. GLUTEN-FREE options!!! They can actually use gluten-free bread for any sandwich.
Waiting for a Hanger shoe appointment and wandered in. They have some great low sodium options. Shortbread and cappuccino was excellent. Lunch menu looks real good.
This is a great little family owned place. They are only open for breakfast and lunch and while there isnt anything extraordinary about the menu, all the options that Ive tried are tasty. At my first visit I expected a bit more of a British inspired menu so that was a slight letdown. You wont find bangers and mash or toad in the hole here and when they say chips they mean that in the American sense, not in the British.I especially like the chocolates, pastries and coffees. The shop is quite small and it feels very homey. The staff are all extremely friendly. There is also a small selection of imported British goods available for purchase and they also offer free wi-fi.This is just a very quaint (in all the positive connotations of the word) place to visit. The food wont blow you away, but its quite good and the experience is enjoyable.
The new owners are very personable and sweet! Menu is still great! Loved the Unicorn drink with added activated charcoal!
Very cute coffee and tea shop. Plenty of delicious pastries to choose from, too! Theres a tiny selection of interesting British imports. The employees are very friendly and helpful.
A very cozy & warm shop! The service, baked goods & service is top notch! My nephew and I came for coffee & baked treats, he had fresh made smoothie. Definitely will have to return for breakfast & lunch!
Loved the food. Breakfast was delicious. Pastries were okay, I want to try them again when theyre fresh. Chocolates were yummy.
It is the best sandwich place ive ever been to. And the chocolate....oh heaven. They are some of the most delicious little tasty treats ever. Pat and Tony you both have food figured out. Thanks for the sandwich and chocolate. Im gonna tell everybody about it.
I love this local coffee shop. Delicious chocolates, upside pineapple cake. Unique coffee blends. Local art. Friendly people both employees and customers. Couldnt ask for a better place!
My mother stumbled upon this amazing and quaint coffee shop that specializes in Belgium pastries and chocolates. We both had turkey and pesto sandwiches that were the best Ive ever had! Will definitely be coming back and soon!
I do not recommend. They are friendly but expensive, have small portions, and are still not very good. The staff aslo while friendly did not have common ethics . Okay environment to chat with your friends though.
Amazing coffee, chocolate is the best I have ever had. The food is seasonal and very good. Atmosphere is comfortable and the staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
We had a lovely, savory cream tea that was a perfect afternoon treat. The finger sandwiches were delicious and the Assam blend tea was a hardy pick-me-up.
My wife and I had been looking for a good coffee house that wasnt Starbucks. I had read the great reviews so decided to try it. We have found our coffee house. The coffee was great and the service made it even better.
The food is stellar, the staff is friendly, the space is charming- we had a great lunch chatting with other customers. The menu is diverse and everything is fresh, and the pastries are amazing. I am stoked to have something this original in the area.
If I could give a zero I would. The lady working there was extremely rude towards me. I was there with my friend and the lady was very nice to her and gave her a free chocolate sample and asked her what she wanted to buy/eat. The lady completely ignored me knowing I was with my friend and didnt want to give me a free chocolate sample nor take my order. After taking my friends order she walked away and got my friends order all ready and still didnt want to take my order. Obviously she had something against me, not sure what. I insisted and told her that I also wanted to purchase some chocolate and buy coffee. She looked angry and barely spoke to me. She was so miserable just ringing my order up but she was all smiles towards my friend. I should have just walked out and never bought anything.
Loved the food and European style and gifts. Wish they had more room so I could bring lots of friends! Four stars only because it was a wee bit pricier than expected. Adorable shop though and great friendly staff who went ot of their way to make us feel at home. A wondeful experience!
I wish I had known about this place sooner! Everyone was really friendly and I loved everything we got. I wish I could have tried everything honestly. Definitely coming back here! Totally recommend the Azteca :)
English breakfast was amazing.. the coffee, so fresh and fragrant!! All this in a warm and cozy setting... Definitely coming back here..
Everyone here is friendly and pleasant. The food is great! A little loud and boistrous but we like that atmosphere! Family feeling!
A new friend of mine took me to this place for lunch and I absolutely loved it! I ended up having a blt club sandwich and the Elvis latte which was totally delicious! The service was great as well. I was bummed I didnt get to try any pies or desserts the first time around. But I cant wait to go back!!!
Had the chicken mushroom pastie with a Caesar salad. A pot of tea for sure. Faabulous! The Thai, soup was tasty too. A lovely mixture of English biscuits and sweets rounded off this visit.
Great ambiance, service and food. Absolutely worth stopping by if youre driving around that area, like I do every time Im in Glendale
Fantastic Mom & Pop bakery and chocolate purveyors. Crumpets and jam are great. Pita breakfast is delicious. Will be a regular stop of ours!
Huge chocolate snob here. After visiting four others, I have FINALLY found a decent chocolate shop in Phoenix: Rayners. Very homey little hole in the wall, British mom & pop place. While I was there, Pat Rayner was gracious enough to give me a little tour and some samples during my visit. Their selection is small, but they do *excellent* ganache / truffles using Cacao Barry for their base, and they do them well; the ganache has good flavour and *excellent* texture. The goat cheese truffle was definitely top notch - I cant compliment it enough! Looking forward to visiting again.
Thee best place for pan dulce and tortillas! A must! Its a long wait, but absolutely worth the wait! 🤤
I went here for my birthday and instantly fell in love with the quaint atmosphere and unique menu.I have sent 6 friends and clients there and they all loved it too!!! Coffee, Tea, Pastry, soup, sandwich and salads......what else could you want??Love It!! Oh and they are open on Sunday also!!
Came here for breakfast this morning with the kids. Food, coffee and pastries were great. Service was TERRIBLE. We waited to be seated and then continued to wait for about 10 min before anyone came to our table. You have to ask for everything....utensils, napkins, etc. Once we received our food we were never checked on again. REALLY??!!Would only come here and order coffee and pastries at the counter and LEAVE.
I love their pastries and coffee. Dont get to go there much since I moved out of Arizona, but I visit every time I go there.
I came here because its the only coffee shop that showed up near my location that wasnt a Starbucks. Do yourself a favor and come in here. The coffee is so delicious. Let them know its your first time and they will give you a free piece of chocolate.
Excellent food. Friendly service. Delicious candy and pastry made there.
Hidden away but has some amazing coffee drinks - will have to try some of the delicious looking baked goods next time.
Their coffees are delicious. I came here after a friend referred to it as the best kept secret in Phoenix. They also have a small grocery with British foods.
Come here quite often for my fix of English goodies! They have delicious pastries, pan au chocolat, croissants chocolate mouse cakes. Went here today and was served with freshly made, straight from the oven confectionery. Deliciousness all around!
English cafe with a southwestern kick. Great iced coffee and sandwiches.
Awesome little high quality mom and pop shop. Pricey, but worth it. Chocolate, coffee, food, pastries. What more could you ask for?
Best cup of coffee ever! I got a hot Azteca latte and all other coffee has been ruined for me! The Monte Cristo panini was excellent as well! Will definitely be a repeat customer!
This place is a bit out of the way but definitely worth seeking out! Great coffee, great chocolate, great food, nice people! Will be back!!!
Try The Benjamin latte (dark chocolate and orange). You wont regret it!
The coffee flavors are fun and the service is really nice but they should really consider selling the small chocolates again.Chocolates and coffee are always going to be better than the shortbread they sell. The lavender didnt have much flavor when I tried it either, unfortunately! Also entered 15 mins before they were closing (our bad), I wanted to try the Pecan shortbread but the woman with purple hair was already wrapping it up so I was offered something else I didnt want... and they insisted us eating in to be kind but that made me uncomfortable since we wanted it to go, haha. But my friend was way more polite than I am and we awkwardly ate the pastries sitting down. Very uncomfortable. We used to make $20-$25 trips every other week to buy chocolates and treats but too sad to see that go!
Service is excellent. Food is good, but nothing to rave about. Chocolate is very good, but pricey!
Good food. Comfortable place .Great staff
Amazingly attentive staff, like having coffee with friends, do yourself a favor get a piece of shortbread
Absolutely an amazing coffee shop its an English coffee shop which is refreshing . So many great treats hand made in the shop its really neat super friendly staff its like a mom & pop English coffee cafe
This place is a hidden gem. Amazing coffee and great service. Huge selection of home cooked food.
Lovely little place that if you didnt know where it was youd go right by it! Yummy food and Ill be back to try your pastries! 😛
Food was great, crumpets are amazing, and the Welsh was one of the best breakfast sandwiches Ive ever had.
I absolutely love when I find little hidden gems, especially in the west valley! This place is so cute and the food, pastries, and coffee are really good.
This cozy, hidden place is just plain fun. Their coffee drinks, chocolates and brunch menu is creative and unique, and theres always a beautiful display of original fine art (available for purchase) on the walls.
Amazing chocolate and great food. Picked up some chocolates as Easter presents for my nieces and they were the best chocolates any of us had ever had.
I love this quaint little British tea and coffee shop. Their baked goods are wonderful
Small and fantastic cafe, the staff is super friendly, and the food is stunning, its a relaxing casual setting and the chocolates the owner makes are just a cherry on top. I go here almost every Sunday now.
Love this place!!! Excellent customer care. Very scrumptious food. Roast beef sandwich was so good!
Enjoyed the Welsh breakfast sandwich. We got it to go, but soon well have a dine in.
The new owners are doing well to upkeep the traditional dishes and the new dishes are great too!
Good sandwiches and baked goods. Definitely will go bavk.
This little British Chocolatier has an amazing assortment of delectable chocolates and pastries. All her truffles and bars are Gluten Free. Didnt get a chance to try her coffees or teas.
A wonderful cafe I would recommend trying it.
We absolutely love the place, great food, great bakery, great chocolate, but more than all of that, the owners are a Blessing to All of the people that visit. A place where its about people which is a fading quality.
Love this coffee shop! Friendly staff and good food. Try the Azteca.
Great service, nice staff, great food!
Awesome peanut butter coffee. Full Irish breakfast great too!
Delicious! One of the best coffees I have ever had!
This post includes my food recommendations, my personal experiences and review, and pro tips.Basically: you wont regret a trip to Rayners!Everything is amazing! When you walk in to this quaint place, you know that you are part of more than just a quest for sustenance, you are part of an experience! I have had the pleasure of trying most every menu, bakery, and chocolate item, and I can say with certainty that it is all delicious, unique, and made with deliberation. Chef is constantly coming up with new, fun creations and Pat is an expert in the chocolate room and with espresso. More than that, they are the most sweet, caring, and inspirational people Ive met in a while. I guarantee there is something for everyone in this shop from the food, the atmosphere, the British imports, or a conversation with Eric.Pro tips:Keep an eye out for the red and yellow sign, it may be hard to see.Pieces from local artists can be found on the walls and are cycled periodically. Fun to look at and also for sale! Support local artists! If you are from Europe, you can mark where youre from in their map book or see where Chef is from! There is only one chef! Factor this in before getting angry about wait time.Waiting for food? Check out the fun British imports, look through the hilarious greeting cards, or purchase a pastry for an appetizer! There are many regular costumers that are very friendly; strike up a conversation! The cafe updates their Facebook with soup of the week, new creations, and other fun stuff.Hot tea comes in a variety of fun tea cups! You can ask to pick your own.Eating with a child? Rayners has a high chair as well as a Mr. Potatohead playset to keep the young one occupied. This is a great place for unique gifts-teas, British goodies, greeting cards, boxes of chocolate, and chocolate high heels (you can even get them personalized!).It would be wise to call ahead if you have a large party! There are only seven tables inside and two tables outside. This makes a great date spot!
Super amazing everything from scratch definitely worth some visits
Cute little place, really good chocolate, food and service. Order your lattes with an extra shot, theyre a little weak.

Delicious food and cozy atmosphere. Great coffee AND chocolates!!!!
Delicious chocolates. I cant wait to try the food.
My, how things have changed. They used to have such charm, warm pleasant owners and good food.
Biscotti and coffee were excellent. Decor cozy and warm. Service was excellent. Sampled dark chocolate blackberry truffle. Mmmm. Will definately return soon.
Amazing!!! Love the food and desserts. Cant go wrong with Mom & Pop shops!!
