Had the mango habanero wings today and they were awesome! Huge wings, lots of crispy-fresh carrot and celery sticks, and a lot of extra sauce. The sauce was so good I would have eaten the rest of it with a spoon if Id been at home. Thanks for a great lunch!
Wow what a great bar. Best bartenders around. Best tacos I have had here in AZ...great DJ on Friday happy hour. You guys rock....
I went with my wife & her Sister we had Terrible service the waitress treated us like we didnt exist and were last on her time & had a terribe experience which is sad since our previous last visit prior to the shutdown Service was excellent with a fun experience. Im normally a good tipper well not this time anger took over and she got nothing & We wont be going back.
First and last time going. Got a groundbeef taco and even though they say it was groundbeef that was not groundbeef. I got the tamale plate asked for salt which I never add salt to my food. The lady I think was a manager that helped us said oh does the tamale need salt we dont make them here I told her no the beans do and she just walked away. The Carne Asada taco were good the potato skins the bacon had a weird color to it. The bartender was very nice had great attitude and the atmosphere was nice. Then we are leaving and notice that the dishes that they serve your food on are sitting outside. Then we get the bill and they charged us different prices for the food and drinks from what they told us or what was on the menu. Worst experience ever.
Im glad its back and Downtown GlendaleGreat DJ and very good food
I loved the service. Even though it was a Sunday buffet our server was very attentive and checked on us regularly. The food was delicious. I didnt catch the gentlemans name at the omelette/pancake station, but he was very happy to answer any questions you had about the food. Great experience.
Thank you for your excellent bartender service, cleaning up after the Cowboys game to welcome us, setting up & offering delicious food at Johnnys reception. 4ever grateful 🙏
First time at new location. Great atmosphere and great food. I will definitely be back, the chimichanga was delicious.
La Perla means The Pearl. Its Chef, Jason Haynes, has been creating flavorful dishes for 25yrs.A friend and I went here for Sunday brunch. The ambiance of the place reminds me of a small, Mexican cafe in Puerto Vallarta. The service was prompt, accommodating and friendly. They served many of your expected Mexican fair such as chorizo, Spanish rice, pork carnitas in sauce, and many others. Their was also an omelette bar, pancake bar and fruit bar. All you can eat Buffett for only $18/person.My favorite food was the autumn chili sauce. I served it over the Spanish rice, pork carnitas, chorizo and later just ate it by itself. It probably would be good as a dip with chips. This is a sauce I wish I could purchase and bring home to use on chicken or even a Ribeye steak. It was amazing. My friend requested pancakes. They were the best looking pancakes I’d ever seen. They were creatively combined with bananas and blueberries into the mix. Its taste was mouth-watering and fluffy. Hands done best pancake I’ve ever had!
No bueno LA Perla, when your website states you open at 9:30 a.m. and folks have been waiting for an hour! Its 10:10 a.m. and you still have not opened your doors!!!!You cant even send someone out to explain!! SMDH Not good customer service.FINALLY get in about 10:30 a.m. only to walk out after getting our drinks. The tea smelled and tasted old.I get it, short staffed, but there was no empathy or a sense of urgency to those that have been patiently waiting.Honestly, not sure if there will be a return visit. At least NOT anytime soon.If I could it would be no stars.
Food was good, service was not. They have a big sign advertising a beer special, but we were charged $3 more. $6.50 for a pint of Coors light is ridiculous.
The bartenders were good but the food was horrible. We ordered just loaded potato skins. After almost 40 minutes they arrived. Burnt, and horrible tasting. We didn’t send back because it would probably be another 40 minutes. It wasn’t worth $10.Plus I think the fire code was broken. There was absolutely no room to move. Band was fabulous as always but we will never go back.
First time here on a Thursday (Latin night with salsa lessons) did not take the lesson but the class was a good size. Our server was very attentive and nice. Quesadilla tasted like it was made with canned chicken. The fried ice cream was not good.Fun group of people there that were dancing. We came here to dance but some friendly advice....PLEASE PLEASE find SLOWER tempo salsa music to learn and dance to. Althought it was fantastic for cuban dancers and more experience dancers the beginners were Running on the floor and rhythms were off.It should be enjoyable for dancers ( new and experienced) to practice and enjoy the dance. EVERY song was fast.Fast is fun...slow is sexy, more enjoyable and allows beginners to feel the tempo.Take note and head to other venues and experience the variety of salsa music and tempos.Ie: con clave / dave n busters / mijanas...etc:
Nice Atmosphere feels like a night club vibe. Plays a lot of old school music & the food is delicious. Would recommend 👍
Our first experience was fantastic! We love going out for taco Tuesday and felt we had found our place! But we went back this week and it was an awful experience. We waited for our drinks, ordered two but only got one and we waited a long time before just canceling. Very slow service.. Bill was wrong too.. The beer tasted weird like there was lotion or perfume in it. Ordered bean & chorizo dip that was just beans with cheese. Like I said though very impressed our first time. Will go back again. Perhaps just an off day. The staff this past Tuesday should be trained on better customer service and the kitchen staff needs to be taught the recipes and not try to pass things off.
People are there friendly the owner mark wonderful person Repeat to the brave waitress Closing the manager shes wonderful
Bad experience. Food and service was not good. Nothing g like the old Laperla food.
I went on a Friday night there was a DJ it was nice a cool little spot to dance have some drinks and chill
If I could leave zero stars I would. The food here is absolutely disgusting. I will never be back.
Sunday Brunch buffet was delicious. Will be going again!
What a great place to relax after a long week. Atmosphere, food, drinks, service, and especially the happy hour DJ, Alex Santa Maria, was great and wonderful. Will definitely return and not just for Friday happy hour.
This is not your Average Sports Bar, this place should be Recognized for its Outstanding Customer & Community Service. Everyone & Anyone Gets treated with Respect as Equals! they even welcome the homeless, to water and a set to cool off from the Overbearing Arizona Heat!!!! Look for Liana if you find Yourself at this Sports Cantina for the Best Customer Servi!e, Conversation, Care, and Drinks!!! XOXO -B 💕 ❤️
If you like a gangster bar were they think its ok to hurt people and stand by and laugh this bar is for you
Loved the Sunday brunch buffet.. chef was awesome & did a great job with making sure we were satisfied with our food!
Was very good. Staff friendly & helpful. Will go again.
The service is great. Bartender is very attentive and helpful. The food is also great. Burger is juicy, the fries are crispy. You get a good amount of fries too!The beer selection is really solid, and it comes cold. The atmosphere is awesome, decoration really appeal to the area. Ill definitely be a regular in La Perla from now on!
EAT HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK! Would rate ZERO if allowed! I worked here for one day in 2019 and I know it hasnt changed. The kitchen manager, Eulojio Sandoval, stored RAW CHICKEN on the top shelf and let the chicken slime drip down into EVERYTHING below it. Ingredients were rotting or spoiled, but clean ones were picked out of the same containers to put into salsa, guac, sauces, etc. without being washed first. Hot foods were NOT kept hot and cold foods were NOT kept cold. They did not have sanitizer for their dishes; they did not sanitize their work surfaces. There was cross-contamination EVERYWHERE. When I tried to fix this, I was fired. Ive reported them to BBB and to the Maricopa Health Department, since management was completely rude and would NOT listen.
For my 1st time it was so good 👍
Came in and waited to be seated. There were available tables but still took awhile. Seated and waited almost 30 minutes before I gave up and left. No drink order, no one came by to see if we wanted to order. I know why Adam Sandler didnt want to wait at IHOP 30 minutes for a table. Im over here dying of thirst. Never again. Money shouldnt have to wait
Always a great time. Thursdays, is learn how to Salsa dance with Martha. Very fun.
Great food, awesome service and good cantina vibe for sure!
I had so much fun
Just went for ladies lunch. First thing you order is a margarita. Well no bar tender until 3pm. So you can have lunch but you cant have a margarita. We left
Food was good a atmosphere was great music salsa dancing Good times
It was fun just to small of a place dance floor needs to be bigger
Saif Special Local Business Alert! I craved hockey playoffs and I thought to give La Perla a shot. They are new to the neighborhood (3 weeks in) so I gave it the College Try. The staff accommodated my request to change the channel immediately and before I knew it, I was immersed in local beer. They have exclusive Grand Canyon pours called Grand Canyon Gueros IPA and Grand Canyon Hitcher Hiker Wheat. Dont forget to try the Dirty Birdy named after Momma Birdy. This place is a local restaurant and bar helping to make the downtown Glendale free from corporate kitsch. Its a cultural gem and Im looking forward to seeing the artistic imprint from the staff. Definitely go for the art and stay for the drinks, intellectual conversation and Charlies like friendly vibe.
Strange mexican food. Not that good. Lots of beer and drinks! Pickup joint.
I really enjoy myself its a very clean and safe environment the people are very courteous and they take care of you when you go there its really nice place I will recommend it highly
The staff was very attentive friendly and you took care of all my needs thank you very much for allowing me to be there to enjoy a beautiful experience staff was very professional and take care of all my needs while I was there very happy to give you a part of their restaurant and bar is wonderful and a good Ambiance I enjoy being there hope to return soon thank you
Went there with my family for lunch on Sunday. They had a buffet style brunch and the chef was making omelettes and pancakes to order. All the food was delicious - the Menudo, Pancakes and Dulce de Leche syrup were ON ANOTHER LEVEL! Chef was super friendly and made the experience fun. Our server was slow getting drinks, she seemed distracted but everything else was great.
Saturdays are off and poppn but they close the kitchen to early.. people get there a lil late and want to munch. But cant cause its closed its should stay open at least til 1am if they close at 2
I go there for the scene and Raza. Tap beer isnt cold and bottle beer limited.
Lead female vocalist of Rhythm Edition Band here wanting to say not only do we get the honors to play our music there from time to time but I gotta say the service is out of this world and the servers are amazing. Youll live it there.
NICE PLACE WITH A GREAT STAFF!!
The music/DJ was PAINFULLY LOUD!!!The food was fair. Very limited selection of Mexican food. Nothing like the original La Perla
Great atmosphere and the service was good. The food was no good. The beans and rice were disgusting. My wife had cheese enchiladas well the only cheese was on the top. They hid the rest under the green sauce.
The foods not good. The buffet no buenotoo expensive.and the place was dirty
We showed up in our cuts. We were asked to remove them. Youre a restaurant. Not a bar. There should be no dress policy. We left.
I guess I was expecting it to be as shown on the video. And it was not a little dis organization was going on but being it was fathers day may had alot to go with it
Thursday night salsa and merengue lessons combined with a scratch kitchen. Throw in a full bar......
Food is horrible! Rice is not cooked and carne asada was dry. Waste of money!
The Sunday buffet food is like can food, just to fill the stomach.
If your searching to go out and get a bite to eat, be around friends, maybe dance a little or even have a drink to just let your hair down. Try La Perla Sports Cantina its the place to go and listen to music played by Alex Santa Maria.
Great place and awesome food.. we are coming back indeed! ✌️❤️🎈
We wanted old La Perla food. Went on a Sunday morning. They offer a brunch buffet with a omelet bar. The recipes although fine are definitely not old La Perla. The chef supervising the buffet was a wonderful source of information and makes a wonderful green chile cream gravy. Some suggestions would be to have servers offer beverages, chips and salsa, and tortillas as desired at the tables. This would give more room on the buffet to maneuver. Offer the chorizo and eggs at the omelet bar and not keep it in a chafer it was dried out. Eliminate the frozen pork cutlets and mini chilis either stood up to the chafers either. Offer the pork and some birria for the red and green sauces as well as some fresh homestyle potatoes. Dont offer the pepper cream gravy unless you also offer biscuits. Although not awful just not what we were hoping for.
Excellent music my beer was on point that Dos Equis was fresh and Lupita whats on points had a really great time my eyes were opened on many of things
Slow services...microwaved food...got the queso and it looked and tasted like paste. Tacos are okay but it shouldnt take an hour for 4 tacos! I am always late back to work. There is no smell when you walk in...no cooking sounds...its weird...that is why I know most of it is microwave. Well I can tell by how it looks too. Got sick for 3 days after going...so not heading back.
Only 3 stars because I have to split the review. Food was good, served hot and we didnt have to wait long. The salsa is a bit beyond my level of hot but it was tasty so I toughed it out. Biggest problem I we had was every time the waiter came to our table he pulled down his mask to talk to us. That sort of defeats the purpose of wearing one in the first place and for that I have to take away stars. It will not be on my list for a return visit for quite a while because of it.
Best place to chill on any afternoon. My current day drinking spot. Check out the daily specials. Food is amazing.
Great bar and restaurant with very friendly staff and good food. The beers were cold, the tacos were good and the salsa was spicy. Not much more you can ask for from this place. I will definitely be back with friends. This is a nice addition to the downtown Glendale area.
Server was great the food was ok my mom was not happy with her food at all
Honest staff. I left my phone in restroom and staff kept it for me til I got it back. Fun vibe with the music .
It was ok the welcoming service wasnt the greatest and the waitress looked like she was having a bad Day so not the best service. Food was what we paid for and price was ok
Friendly service, yummy Margarita....slow getting our food and my pizza was burned with black..cant believe they brought it to me like that. Definitely was not worth the money we paid
Came here for the first time because of an ad for their dollar mimosa deal. And it did not disappoint. Mimosas were fantastic. Breakfast was a nice big plate and it was sooo delicious and beyond filling. I am so happy i came here. Will 11/10 come again 🙌🏻🥂❤
Good food.Salsa is good. The spiciest salsa I did taste.I got the cheeseburger and my sister the steak picado and it was good.
Great place to dance
Allison the bartender was AMAZING! Greatest customer service! She made us a special drink that was perfect for a happy hour! Thank you. Made our Tuesday the greatest!
Great old school music and the shrimp tacos were great.
We love this place!!!!! Always delicious.
3/6/21 1:40 pm. Waited 20 minutes for a waitress of any kind. Ordered food which came 25 minutes later, cold! Then it yook 5 minutes to heat. We ended the experience leaving before food came back warmed up.First time in my 40 years in my adult life leaving a restaurant due to poor service.
It is a good place to hang out and have some snack and beer...no more than that
The Rocky Point Burro Change was to die for the drink were okay they couldve been a lot better
The food was nasty the eggs are basically rubber never again so not the perlas I remember and the service is awful and slow waitress was the only good thing about this place lol
WOW, The food was very good and the live DJ was nice. We will be back.
It was a really good time, thank you to Jasmine. She made amazing dribks and was really fun.
They make up the hours, everyday it changes.. open until 11, but they closed and wont serve you at 7:30..Tonight went in at 7 knowing they close at 8 now, there are a few people eating and some kid leans back in his bar stool and says were closed and doing maintenance in the kitchen. This place is a joke! Dont waste your time!
The food was cold, they told us to sit anywhere but didnt tell us there was an event and that people would be surrounding us. I did not like this place.
Disappointed that this restaurant wasn’t open when the website said it was open on its business hours. Wont take a chance to come back.
First time at the new La Perla, to start the menu was hard to read as it seemed as though they were black and white copies. After ordering we waited a long time for our food, long enough to eat three baskets of chips and salsa... Salsa had no flavor! The food was not appealing, tacos dorados were a fried taco shell with shredded beef, not fried together, one bite and it fell apart. The waitress seemed a bit overwhelmed trying to wait on 6 tables herself. The $1 Mimosas was the highlight of my visit, probably wont be going back. No photos to share!
