Nice diner style restaurant with plenty of indoor dining and lots of outdoor patio seating. Beyond a bunch of tasty breakfast options there are some good lunch options as well. I suggest the outdoor seating under an umbrella to enjoy the weather. Staff is very attentive and friendly. Food is good and portions were great.
We love this place. It is more like a traditional dinner. We support and recommend to support local businesses instead of chain restaurants. Services is excellent and the food is okay. Wish they improve the quality of food and produce. But the service and treat compensates.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! we waited 30 mins. To get our orders taken and our food was COLD, HARD Yolk and Cold Hard Potatoes!!! I had black hard scraps from the grill on my plate! I voiced my concerns to the owner Rene he did nothing about the situation nor did he apologize, his waitress became argumentative with me and blamed me for not correcting my order!! It was Mothers Day Morning it was cold and the heat lamps outside did not work. There is No social distancing inside they sat 2 Parties of 5 next to us. If I can give 0.5 stars I would.
So many breakfast options. We would have to come at least twice a week. Exquisite flavors. Non greasy. Health variety. Well be back!
This is a very home food restaurant, the people that works there is very friendly. The food is delicious, they have a lot of choices for breakfast my favorite food. Lost of space yo seat and enjoy a tasty meal.
Me and my girl have decided this place serves one great burger ! The egg and the choice of bun they use compliment the beef patty so well. I didnt get to ask but it tasted like if the patty was toasted . LolPancakes were great. Skinny yet fluffy.Felt like my curly fries were a little over cooked, could of been because there was one cook during slow hours.Anyway definitely worth a place to come eat and support. Really nice place to sit in the inside or back.
Great corned beef hash and eggs for breakfast.
TRY THE MEATLOAF!!! This is a good old fashioned coffee shop with a huge menu so youll always find what you want. Yum!
Food is great, sweet, nostalgic Diner experience where the employees remember your favs and greet you as family....
Food is good but service on that day not so goodThey forgot to give me silverware. Then they gave me my French toast and said the rest was coming up never did no eggs no fruitI finished the toast the rest never camePaid and left.
Wanted to try their breakfast and ordered for pick up. Picked up the food but a few of my orders were not in the bag. Front of house didn’t bother to double check the order and just gave us the food. It was my fault as well I didn’t check the order. Food not that great either. I don’t feel they put enough love to how they make their food and everything taste like cardboard. They also, didn’t bother letting us know they were out of supply for my order when we got inside. Customer service is not good at all. Food not that great either. Sorry but the first experience didn’t end well. Even my kid spit out the Belgian waffle on the first bite. If a kid doesn’t like your food then you know it’s not that good.
Nice place, good service. Enjoyed the outside patio area
We were getting our car serviced and this was a great spot to grab lunch. BLT and french dip
From the moment you arrive in this place the waiters give you a comfortable feeling. Very comfortable crew, it is a lovely restaurant to hang out with friends or with your date. tasty meals, professional chief cook and stuff, honest cost and professional service. Highly recommended.
Consistently good food. Excellent pancakes and overall, good breakfasts.
Great staff. Safe. Clean. Yummy fresh burger...Im still a red meat eater🤫, sorry...nah not sorry 😊. Lots of options re seating & dining. Fun time-took the sting off my car repair bill.
Great food! Very nice and friendly atmosphere!Edit: please keep in mind that even though Google page and their website say Glendale location is open every day till 8 pm, it is CLOSED on Sunday. 2nd time I stoped by to eat and it is closed.
Great spot for breakfast! Outdoor seating has a good vibe and fantastic service.
Service was great, food was ok, I was expecting better.
Food was good but took a good 20 minutes to get our checks
My buns got toasted? Or I got my buns toasted? Or I was toasting someones buns......wait! I know, I was toasted feeling like moses AND I was proposing a toast to my toasted buns!! Yep thats the story and Im sticky buns toasted to IT!
Amazing food great service very happy with the friendly family services. They have a great outdoor tables in the back somewhat beach vibe.
Good menu, plenty of tables inside and outside, and good food.
Always a good standby for breakfast and lunch. Lots of tasty options. Reminds me a bit of the diners back east.
This I the one place that really like the French toast best place
Delicious food with generous portions! Coffee was amazing as well! And the service was wonderful! Everyone was super nice and attentive!!
Love this place! Great food and service! Recommend!
This is a typical breakfast place that gets packed with people on the weekends. Weve been here twice and we decided not to dine the first time because of how long the line was. We were able to dine in on the 2nd try.Everything was going well but then realized that after ordering our meals, it took them at least 30 mins to hand us our food. We almost didnt make our appointment that day because we were planning on doing a quick bite. Didnt quite happen.Food was good but nothing special.
Food was pretty good but the gravy was horrible! Idk whats in it but but taste strange!
Toasted bun by far has the best breakfast and customer service in town. Theyve been super accommodating during the pandemic and the food is so so good.
Been eating here for years, since their original location. We love the food!
A wide variety of items on their menu, including vegetarian items as well. Good portions at very reasonable prices.
Food was excellent and servings were big 😋
There for breakfast. Good food, nice staff. Id be a regular if I lived closer.
Steak and eggs was nicely cooked.
Great food in a great rate, fresh and tastyThey always service us as needs to be .No competition!
The menu selection is good, the outdoor seating area is spacious, but the food was average. We were one of only 4 parties there and had to wait longer than expected both to be seated and for our order to be taken.
Cute place I go with my parents. Lots of outside seating. The food is good. I only have good memories here. The staff has always been polite and attentive. Large menu though I usually just get an omlet and short stack. This is the type of diner I like going to. Its not like Dennys. Not many places like this around. Its a darn shame. You must go
Great food, huge menu, friendly staff. Great parking and seating, even during COVID restrictions.
The Toasted Bun disappeared a few years ago and in its place on California Avenue there is a Pharmacy.Out of the blue i noticed that it re-appeared on South Brand. So i knew i had to check it out. With my friend in from Santa Barbara in town for a couple of days who is/was also a TB fan we headed south and entered the somewhat worn, eclectic interior of this coffee shop.Just looking around from the center of the counter i saw a large screen tv playing Friends, a sort of automatic keg thing dispensing Stella Artois and a quasi espresso machine. As in a Sushi Bar, the cooks greeted us with smiles, winks and generally sunny dispositions. The service here is dynamite: personal, informative, fast as it has always been... as in their old address.Amber was our waitress and she couldnt have been nicer: serving plates of super home-style breakfast though they obviously feature more here.We ordered:PancakesPoached Eggs and Turkey BaconBacon Cheese OmeletteHome fries on both the Egg PlatesCoffeeThe Pancakes are light as a feather and rich from real butter. If they use a mix here, they use a good one because the p cakes were slightly yeasty, slightly sweet and the toppings of real maple syrup and butter only contributed to our enjoyment, Good Stuff. Most coffee shops of this ilk hate making poached eggs because they are not easy to do right and are a pain in the butt if the cook does not have his technique correct...especially since i ordered them easy. These poached were perfect and though i asked Amber if ordering them would get her in trouble with the cooks, they were obviously cooked with joy.Turkey Bacon? What was i thinking? Well, in any event it was tasty as it could be, Got it?The Cheddar Cheese Omy was as homey as if yer old grey mum cooked it for yee in her well worn skillet: eggs were fluffy, the bacon was crisp and the cheddar was of a very good quality. The Home fries were tasty and sauteed with onions and red bell peppers: really good stuff. The Coffee could have been stronger but it was servicable and did the trick as in woke us up.I was happy to be back at the old Toasted Bun, I will definitely return soon
Great food great service
The food is really packed with flavor and is at a great location with plenty of parking. Its very easy to spot since its on a Main Street. They have plenty of outdoor seating and and employees here are very helpful.
Good place to have a meal, and enjoy and relax good conversations 😌food is excellent and plenty,
The Toasted Bun is always enjoyable and full of good food.
Have been to this location twice, love the service, employees, food is 👌👌 thank you
Shutty place here. Good staff are hit and miss here. This morning, Josh overchard us for hot chocolates after waiting fifteen minutes with no one arround. There are plenty better coffee shops around.Walking distance.
Just recently reopened and happy they did. My friend David tookme to lunch and what a treat. Staff is super friendly and attentive.I had a wonderful breakfast, pancakes, eggs and hash browns. The portions were very generous and tasty. !
Nice place 👍 good prices.
Portion sizes were larger than I expected and justified the price, which I was initially concerned about.Corn pancakes are the perfect blend of cornbread and pancakes. Highly recommended if you love sweet cornbread.Red-sauce chilequiles were the closest to what I remember Ive had growing up and havent been able to find a place other than here that made it. I love eating mine with banana sauce so I promptly took it home.Service was friendly, prompt, and attentive. Definitely would come here again.
Delicious food. There is a lot of choices for breakfast
I was really hopeful for this place, it’s a quaint diner with ample parking. I’d been really craving waffles and the photos on google looked great. I ordered a waffle combo with eggs and sausage. When it arrive it was a lukewarm except my sausage, those were cold. It took quite a few passes to flag down my waitress (she didn’t really scan her section as she passed by to see if anyone needed anything, even as one is literally waving in the air). She finally came, apologized, and said I’d get new food. The new stuff came in less than five minutes. This time the eggs and sausage were piping hot, if not under seasoned. However the second waffle was not even cooked. Even sat for a good 10 minutes after finishing my edible food before the waitress even noticed I was done and just sitting there. She’s super nice and they comped the meal, but disappointing nonetheless.
Stumbled upon it waiting for my car to be serviced down the street. Awesome find, patio seating open and felt very well kept. Toasted bun omelette was superb.
Good food, and lots of it. But honestly, the staff is great and the food is consistently good. This is as close to a good old fashioned, family owned dinner as you can get. Its just a good, comfy place, with good food and good people. Go, eat, be happy.
Been eating here since it opened. My mother age 97, her favorite place
The place is small, but very cozy! Amazing menu, something for everyone, and whatever you feel like eating. Service was good, and personable.. Food was excellent! Even the other diners were nice. Ill definently be going back...
Food was good. I had the French toast with fruit, my bf had biscuits and sausage with gravey. Sausage was good, gravey was ok. Overall not a bad place.
Went once and they got our drinks but we were never attended, I really like the outside and the inside but just the service need to kinda improve.
Good service. Large menu
Had a great breakfast here this morning. A very enjoyable and tasty breakfast burrito, crisp flavorful bacon on the side and much better coffee than I expected. The service was really, really good - my waitress, I think Stella (no glasses) took really good care of me and was warm and friendly. My first time... I will be back!
Very cool retro vibe to this diner, and the prices are great. Offer gluten free options, which is a plus.Ordered pancake combo and steak and eggs. Reason for the three stars is, food was incredibly bland
Did not know they had reopened with great PATIO area in back. So glad I found them again
Great service and employee have integrity! I lost money there and they saved it for me. I always go there for breakfast for the scrumdillYUMcous food
Good diner style food
Food, portions, and service was good. The bad:My coffee mug had a lipstick stainHair was found in my sons French toast and we thought it could be from my son so gave benefit of the doubt. Nope- we found the exact same type of hair in the bottom of my fruit bowl (definitely from the server)
This place serves the best food. They have breakfast, lunch, Mexican/American flavors...lots of vegan items too. Fresh, fresh, fresh. Get there early. Be patient its a busy place. Wait time 15 - 30 minutes but its worth it!
Very cozy and clean atmosphere. A big menu with a lot of options to choose from. Service was okay. I kept having to ask to refill my coffee but I came after the morning rush with a group of friends. I ordered the corn pancakes. The presentation was nice and they tasted like corn bread. Very unique. Located near the Glendale Americana mall, a very nice mall with good parking, lots of foliage and shopping options. The point off was due to the somewhat slow service and the fact I had to ask for more coffee, butter and maple syrup. The atmosphere is good compared to other diners Ive been to. A little on the pricey side for what you get.
The food was burned they did not give us all the stuff we asked for and it is way too expensive for that food
If youre looking for a Covid responsible restaurant, dont come here. I ordered pick up and the man handling my food was not wearing a mask or gloves. Same with the cook that I could see from the front door. This place is irresponsible and doesnt even know how to properly follow health and safety guidelines during a pandemic, so I can only imagine what other things they ignore when it comes to the cleanliness of their restaurant and food preparation.Disgusting.
The place is so cozy and the servers were very nice and patient (we had an active toddler with us). They were extremely attentive and responded quickly to all our requests. The food was also great, very tasty and massive portions. We will definitely be back!
Great little breakfast spot! Waffle had a nice crispy outside, soft center and i think a himt of cinnamon! So good!! Eggs were actually over medium and bacon was super crispy! Pleasant and friendly staff! Highly recommended... Ill surely be back.
The service is fast and exceptional! These waitresses are great at customer service and the food tastes exactly the way the food looks. Delicious!
A great little diner. Loved their fluffy pancakes. They had a lot of great meals on their menu too. My friend had the Lox Benedict and I almost regretted not getting the same thing, it looked so good! Definitely recommend stopping by if youre looking for diner favorites or just to try something new!
Rude staff, food was as bad as expected from the staffs attitude. Hash browns were not fully cooked and spicy (?), the veggies in the omelette seemed old and the avocado had multiple brown spots. I ordered through Google ordering service which is clearly something that the staff needs to know how to do, came to pick up my order only to be told its not ready, when I literally saw my order on the counter. The employee that was there asked for order number, thats when I went ahead to tell her I dont know how to find it, since Ive never used google to order food before. She only rushed me and was not helpful whatsoever, literally walked away from me when I clearly needed some help figuring out my order. Oh and the take out order did not have any utensils, granted I didnt ask for them and had to use a spoon in the office because theres no way I was going to go back to miss attitudes working over there. For people that park in the back, MAYBE you should have a sign by the back door to direct customers to the front so that they dont have to wait and then logically walk inside and get yelled at. I was willing to give a chance to a neighborhood breakfast cafe with a possibility to make it my daily breakfast go-to since its so close to my office, but having this kind of stressful and unwelcomed first time experience, Im never going back.
Went in with a group of 14 on a busy Sunday morning and they couldnt have been more accommodating. Staff was friendly, fast, and got all the orders spot on and didnt blink when we asked for separate checks. Food was terrific and very reasonably priced. Definitely will return!
Good food, friendly staff. A little slow on service, maybe understaffed.
We like breakfast at toasted Bun but lunch is terrible. We will never go back for lunch, ruben sandwich is terrible.
I ordered the Reuben and it was exactly how I expect my Reuben to taste. My friend ordered corned beef hash, eggs and hash brown. Everything was delicious on it, the corned beef hash is tastier than me cooking it at home from a can, so you have to try it here, youll be surprise how good it is.
The crew is very friendly and food is great. Menu has a lot to choose from. Great coffee
My wife and I went here for lunch on the rare occasion that we get a date. Food was delicious and plenty to choose from. The atmosphere was your typical down home diner. Doesnt feel like Glendale at all. Will definitely be back.
Walked looks like a great place. Wasnt really that busy with the amount of servers they had. Sat down as a single at the counter. Spent the next 15 minutes just watching them walk right past me without even saying hello or greeting me or giving me water or coffee. Too bad. Wouldnt recommend
Good food and friendly customer service. Coffee could be better.
My first breakfast in LA. Had the mascarpone French toast and it was great! Staff was courteous and food was great. Another winner on my food tour of LA.
I usually come here for brunch. The food is good and the atmosphere is friendly. Where they seem to excel here is items from the griddle. I highly recommend their corn style pancakes which have a cornbread texture and are my new favorite pancakes, and their stuffed french toast, which made me close my eyes in pleasure when I took the first bite. Eggs, bacon, and sausage are pretty standard diner fare but done well. If you are looking for a low-key diner for some good bfast food, I recommend this place. It gets busy at peak hours on the weekends but Ive never had to wait too long. Most of the time I can find a seat almost immediately.
Great food, service and extensive menu. I look forward to going back
I walk past this place sometimes 3 and 4 times a day when Im out walking my dogs and after almost a year my lady and I finally made it inside. Why did we wait so long. The menu is fabulous plus the daily specials. If you cant find something to eat you aint hungry. My problem was trying to make up my mind. I can already tell were gonna be regulars here. The food is delicious, prices are reasonable, and the servings ample. We both needed to go boxes lol
Always a good meal and very goodCoffee. Waitress are attentive.
Im impressed, most all of the restaurants in a 1/2 mile of my house are mediocre at best, many are sub-par. I hadnt ate at this place for over 2 years but decided to go back. There is a new owner and staff and now its my favorite restaurant. Generous portions, very tasty and large selection to choose from. Try them, you wont regret it, and plenty of parking.
