This place rocks, the prices are fair and the customer service is outstanding. The staff is extremely help full and takes the time to help you come to decision thats right for you. I would highly recommend this store if your in the market for an AR as they have great selection. I had a very positive experience dealing with this shop and they have earned my future business. Give them a try and you wont regret it.
This is easily one of the best, most reputable establishments I have worked with. The staff is extremely friendly, beyond knowledgeable, and so helpful. As a first-time buyer, Dan walked me through cleaning, handling, safety, and storage. Jeff and Laura were always helpful whenever I called in with questions and extremely amicable. They have amazing inventory, are fully stocked, and their prices are beyond fair. I recommend taking all your business here moving forward, these are the best people to work with (and I visited multiple places before finding American Gun Works).
Not impressed... short story is a friend had them pick up guns, charged her to do so, then offered a low amount but got upset when my friend wanted to sell elsewhere. She needed to make extra money from these guns so they cant blame her for getting better pricing elsewhere.I understand customer service in a gun store youd expect some brashness.. theres limits though.
Got my Glock 17 there, guys were very nice and answered all my questions. Will buy again from them.
Probably the worst customer service we ever had just walked out the store. A short young men was rude, unprofessional just horrible keeps talking and talking and talking not sure how he got the job?@#. Thanks to him we will never go back to that place. Prices are higher than anywhere else for sure and with that service????? those prices????? no thanks
The worst customer service and ridiculous high prices. Very rude sales rep that would just talk and talk not even allow me to ask question. They have prices higher than anybody out there I checked it myself. Stay away from this place and you will save some money and stress.
Had a great experience buying ammunition from this shop. Staff is very knowledgeable. Would recommend to a friend
Went to a couple stores in the area today and found this to be by far the best. The staff are extremely passionate and knowledgeable. I felt a genuine care for helping me find the right firearm. The shop has a comfortable atmosphere. Love this place, I highly recommend it. This is my “go to” store
Bad attitude for no apparent reason. The guy selling us ammo was having a hard time opening his mouth to answer simple questions, and I have no idea why. It should have been the opposite, at least for the sake of the customer service, regardless of nationality, possible accent or look. One can easily get in a confrontation in such a situation. There was an older person who was really nice, and because of him I rate this store 2 stars instead of only one.
Worker was extremely rude and unprofessional. Horrible attitude with limited knowledge and and an unwillingness to help made me decide to never come to this place again. Go to Guns LA in Burbank they have awesome customer service and a larger inventory.
I’ll give you 5 star but Very high price for ammo
They have a good firearm selection, used, antique style revolvers, talyor&co., S&W etc. Modern firearms. BUT, by far the most overpriced ammo price Ive seen so far. Been visiting gunshops since the shortage started in 2020. 9mm, 12ga, 357, 308, were all $5-15 more expensive here. SOME of their firearms are fairly priced.
Wonderful place. Sweet lady helped me out and everyone behind the counter was nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend you try this place out.
Expect to pay premium. However, they are still open. Almost no lines and do get inventory that they post on FB. Got couple of HG and LR from them. I Dont mind paying the mark up. Still worth it.
Most comfortable atmosphere. Every one was extremely helpful. Would just like to go and visit, just to see what is new in stock. Just wishing ammo wasnt in such demand.
Amazing service! Employees there take the time to explain everything and go the extra mile to help you. They are very knowledgeable and they are welcoming.
The girl on the phone encouraged me to come by. Then the two little boys that attended me had no interest in selling me anything. This place is just not professionally run.
I purchased my first gun here today. All employees were very kind. Especially Mark was so professional. He explained everything in detail. I really recommend here to everyone. Thank you.
The best experience Ive ever had in a gun store. No attitude, friendly and knowledgable. Well stocked, had exactly what I was looking for. I will definatively be coming back. 35 years in L.A. gun stores, never had such a great time.
Im a first time gun buyer. Came in to get my firearm safety test and hold and testatest a few weapons.I ended up purchasing one and was very happy with the service that I received the entire time I was there.
Been coming here since 1975 when it used to be known as Kings Gun Works. The staff are very courteous and professional. When you need gunsmithing work done this is the place to come to. Highly recommended.
Worse people ever they dont pick up phone calls ITS A SMALL STORE THEY SEEM LIKE THERE TURNERS OR SOMETHING THAT THEY DONT HAVE TIME TO PICK UP THE PHONE .. WORSE PITTY PLACE TO CALL . SMALL STORE YOUBARENT THAT BUSY LIERS LIERS LIERS
This place is great! Knowledgeable, personable staff. Their main gunsmith Willie Clark is a national treasure. He is both a machinist and a gunsmith and he can even make parts. He is expert on working on antique firearms which many gunsmiths wont touch. This is very important to me because I collect and shoot antiques. I have been going to American Gun Works for several years now and they feel like family. Stop by.
In and out in under a half hour during this corona ordeal. My Glock pistol was slightly more than other places, however, it’s important to support small business and time is money. Also, the gunsmith fixed my .380 for free. Will buy from them again in the future.
They took 2+ months to do a simple sight repair/upgrade on a handgun. To make up for that delay, they did an excellent deep-cleaning job that it needed.
STAY AWAY!!!!!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. PEOPLE ARE VERY RUDE AND UNHELPFUL. FIRST OF ALL IT TOOK ALMOST 1-MONTH TO GET A SIMPLE JAM FIXED, SECOND i HAD AN AMMO TRANSFER TO THE STORE, THEY TRIED CHARGING 10% OF THE TOTAL COST. THE CHARGE WAS ALMOST 200.00. THEY WOULD NOT EVEN OFFER TO ASSIST WITH LOADING IN MY CAR. ALSO MADE ME PAY CASH.
Used to be my “Go To” gunsmith when it was managed/owned by the Capone family. After over 10 years I came back, spoke to Jeff (new owner), told him what needed to be done on my Colt Commander, he said it can be done just to give him time. Long story short, five months have gone by, my pistol just sat there for that long period of time and nothing was done. The new mgmt. failed to deliver...very disappointed!
Kind of a cool store, it had a good vibe to it . The guys working were very helpful and patient with my manyQuestions. . I bought 2 pink stun guns . Great gifts for my besties :) . Prices seemed very fair .
Website stated open till 4 pm today, but when we got there at 3:45 they stated they where closed but saw people coming out. Maybe cause we were asian americans? And came out with guns on side of their waist from the side door. I was surprised they came out to tell us their closed when it was 3:45.
My experience was awesome! The staff was very helpful and stayed open for us a little later than usual to accommodate my Wife and Is schedule. They werent condescending pricks like a few other places we visited. I would recommend this place to a friend or family member.
I went in to have them take a look at my Great Grandfathers Remington M11. They were very helpful and set me up with the most affordable options for cleaning kits! Great experience.
Needed a pretty obscure gun part and AGW had it! In addition to that they were helpful, advising me on how to maintain my Remington 1100. Thanks!
Had put a deposit on a consignment firearm and due to work was not going to be able to dros and pick up in there time frame, when I called to cancel the lady I spoke with told me there was a 25% cancellation fee off the retail cost of the gun. Even though the receipt says nothing and she never informed me at that time, I’ll never shop here again and I’m sure they can care less. Just be cautious what you deal with
Best place to go for anything you need for your weapon. Pete was awsome,Willie cleaned the hell out of my gun 100% and kaylib Im pretty sure Im spelling his name wrong but hes very educated in pistols convinced me to get one
Have had guns worked on and bought from for years. Very helpful. Will buy from again.
The most knowledgeable guys about guns in this area. Hands down. Reasonable prices too
Definitely in my top 3 gun shops in LA. In no particular order - Gretas, American Gun Works, and Oaktree
Having been to more Gun Shops where the staff have to be extremely generous have some really lousy attitudes.(I.E. Buy Something or get out) than I care to mention after 40 + years. A.G.W. is a wonderful surprise to these tired old eyes. In that the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and willing to listen to you the customer. With an added bonus being that Jeff the Owner also is a real character in the best meaning of the word as is the rest of his staff.Plus they have a real gunsmith in the form of Willie that gets things done on time and with reasonable rates. They also have a decent inventory of both firearms & ammo and are willing to go out and look for what you want to buy. For example I needed some 218 Bee ammo and lo and behold they had it at a fairly decent price. So if you are in the area, it is well worth the time and gas to do a recon on this establishment in my humble opinion.
My dad wanted his 22. Rifle fixed after returning a few days the store owner wanted to keep my dads firemarm because he lost the stupid slip even when the employee that helped him insisted it belong to my father they argued and eventually few weeks later he got proof of identity and got it back.....
Customer service was excellent. Felt comfortable and at home.
Well rounded gun store! They have a bit of everything. For sport shooters, self defense, rifle shooters, collectors, and even for the cowboy-western shooter! Very knowledgeable staff. Competitive prices. Good selection of used firearms. Gunsmith on duty. Fast DROS (usually no wait time). Lay-away plan. Great selection of ammo, even for the older rifles! All the accesories and cleaning supplies youll need.So do yourself a favor before you go and aggravate yourself waiting at other gun stores, go see the AGW guys first! You wont regret it.
Great gun shop the people working there are nice and have great knowledge on firearms
Called asked to see if they accept online ammo order to store pick up the guy said we charge $25 for back ground check or 10 percent of the invoice price you purchased the ammo from online this guys are rip off the state requires by law to make sure back ground check is $1 for online order to store and yet they want to price gouge people stay away from this people they are very dishonest in business!!
Sent my for-end to my model 99 rifle in to have refurbished and re-checkered. Two months later I was called in to pick it up. little if anything had been done. they said they could not find their checkering tools. When I got the for-end back, the walnut had turned almost black from using a stripper. They gave me my for-end back in worst shape then they had received it. They charged me anyway. A word to the wise....beware of any claims made by these people, they do not stand behind their work!!!!!!!!!. This review was made by a very unhappy customer.
STAY AWAY!!! I went to these guys to purchase a lower AR15 what was supposed to be a two week process took almost a month and a half and the reason they gave me was ..we had a miscommunication with the manufacturer.. POOR MANAGEMENT thats what it is..When I arrived to pick up my gun Daren the gunsmith started blaming the manufacturers I explained I dont have time for this and just want to get this done Daren tells me .. I couldnt care less.. with the FINGER gesture behind the counter. Well what can u expect from a place managed by a grown kid with a quilt named Jeff that doesnt know how to talk and listen to clients. Save a lot a headache and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!
Very nice staff. Never felt intimidated in there.
Ive seen a few negative reviews here, which I wonder what the other side of the story was cause Ive had nothing but great experiences with the staff at AGW.First let me say that a few years ago I was looking for a good, friendly, knowledgeable, reasonable gun shop. Plus I was looking for a good gunsmith, which in the San Fernando Valley can be tough. Well I found all that at AGW. I have bought firearms from them. Ive done out of state transfers with them. I have had gun repairs done with them. Every time Ive had quality service without a problem. Willie the gunsmith there is the most friendliest, knowledgeable and helpful gunsmith that Ive ever met. Many times I spoke to Willie about firearms, problems with firearms, and repairs. Without a doubt, Willie is a excellent gunsmith. I take all my firearms to him. Plus the turn around for gunsmith work is a lot faster than other gunsmiths that Ive dealt with in the past! If they can get the parts quick, your firearm will get done in a reasonable amount of time. Plus the price is fair.If you want to talk about bad service and horror stories I can tell you many about Turners Outdoorsman! Take my word for it, everybody at AGW are aces! If you do have a problem with service, they are very reasonable to work with you. When it comes to gun shops, they are my second home!
I came here, they were quite helpful and good
I like to start by saying there were 4 or 5 other reviews on google with 1 or 2 stars, somehow these guys got google to remove them. This place is a poor excuse for a gun shop. Staff is rude and uneducated. The tall prick with the beard was rude and didnt know that a 556 rifle can also shoot a 223. Go to Gunworld in Burbank or Turners in Pasadena, dont give a penny to this store. Dont believe me? Try it out for yourself and write a review here.
Awesome staff, very friendly, reasonable prices, and wide selection.
Good and helpful guys. Very informative and knowledgeable.
Best in the West
Conducted a PPT at American Gun Works on 09/06/14. Staff was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.
They r really so rude and they dont want answer question politley
