I took my car to the Corner Mechanic after a referral from a friend because it was still having problems after taking it to the dealership. Alex and the team were extremely communicative and honest through the whole process and told me what was a safety concern and should be fixed now and what repairs I could wait on. They were able to fit me for repairs the next day. I highly recommend them!

I was driving home to Golden when my my drive belt started making an unpleasant sound. Id just moved to Golden, looked up mechanics with good reviews, and was thrilled to see that the mechanic .5 miles from my house seemed great!I called, spoke with Alex on the phone, asked if he could take a look under the hood and give me a quick estimate of what might be going on. My wife and I have a roadtrip this weekend, I wanted to make sure the car is in good shape.Turns out my water pump failed, and coolant was dripping all over the drive belt. 😭I would have left the car at the Corner Mechanic to do the work, except theyre booked solid for the next 10 days.Im taking my car to a different shop to get this piece of work done, but for the rest of the time I live in Golden (hopefully decades!), Ill be bringing my car to Corner Mechanic.

The Corner Mechanic was the only shop in the area that could get my car in quickly. They provided a quote within 20 minutes of my dropping off my car in the morning, quickly ordered the part they needed, and had my car ready by the early afternoon. They even charged me significantly less than their estimate, as the labor was less complex than expected. I greatly appreciated the quick and fair service!

I couldnt be more happy with these guys. They took such great care of my mother! Delivered her car to her home after doing repairs. We will see how the repairs turn out. This small family business is a gem, and theyre actually on my corner which is a big plus for me.They dont know it, but theyve helped me through my first year of car ownership. When my car battery died in the garage over winter break, they brought a jump box to help me out, free of charge. When I had to get my brakes replaced, they quoted me the best price I found and then charged me that exact price after the work was done. Theyre the only folks I trust to do good work on my car and charge a fair price.

We were on our way to California and heard a strange noise in our car, and stopped at Corner Mechanic at 5pm on a Friday night. Joe and his wife (unfortunately I did not get her name) treated us with respect and kindness. Joe and another mechanic looked at our car immidately and determined it was not a safety issue and we were fine to continue our road trip. We appreciated their honesty and willingness to look at our vehicle so late on a Friday evening. If you are in need of a mechanic in the Golden/Boulder Colorado, I highly recommend their shop.

Corner Mechanic is honest and reasonably priced. I limped my car in to these guys after a small accident. They took a look at it, gave me a price, and then proceeded to call another mechanic to find the other shop could do it cheaper! These guys actually sent me to a specialty muffler and exhaust shop even though I was panicked and they couldve gouged me because they wanted to give me the best service and price they could, even if it wasnt theirs. Very impressed with that level of integrity!

Excellent Mechanic. I couldnt be happier with the service and the work they did on our Jeep. We have an 04 Rubicon that was experiencing death wobble and we couldnt find the culprit. They figured out that our tie rods were loose and we had a frozen U joint and it drives excellent now. They even sat with us and went through computer simulations to show us why they thought the U Joint was causing the vibrations.

I was on a business trip when my vehicle began overheating. I was in need of immediate help. Joe (the owner) took it upon him own self to look into my problem and had us back on the road in an hour and a half. He was short two mechanics that day and had many customers he was helping yet had me fixed up. I would HIGHLY recommend Joe and his business for any of your mechanic needs!!!

Took my car in for a windshield wiper that wasn’t working and to replace a worn fan belt. Simple maintenance things.... they came back to me with a nearly $800 quote and saying my alternator was bad.I said something didn’t seem right and I didn’t want them to proceed with repairs and that I would come and get my car.Upon arrive, I was charged $120 for them to tell me that my fan belt was worn (which I already knew) and for them to tighten a bolt in the windshield wiper mechanism for it to work again.Very overpriced.I received a second opinion on my alternator and discovered that (surprise) it’s fine.Overall, just felt like they were trying to take advantage of me and scare me into replacing expensive parts that are working fine.

I stopped into the shop in person after work one day to schedule some car maintenance (TPMS install on one tire, alignment, and suspected tie rod end replacement since I had play in the steering). I asked Joe for a quote and he told me they would give me a quote after I brought the car in. The morning of my service appointment, I dropped off my car and headed home to wait. A few hours later I get a call from Joe saying the TMPS install had already taken place ($127 for this operation) and that I had a lower left ball joint that needed to be replaced. I asked for the estimate and he said that, in total, the cost would be around $730 or so. I asked for that to be itemized and Joe gave me a breakdown of:$127 - TMPS install and reprogram @ 1hr labor (keep in mind that I asked for install only and not install+reprogram)$600 - Replace entire control arm (they dont separate the ball joint and the control arm which later turned into they need to take the control arm off to get the assembly over to the press to get the ball joint out)I asked Joe if the entire control arm needed to be replaced and he said yes, they dont separate the two. I then asked if there was anything he could do to not replace the control arm but to instead just replace the ball joint. He put me on hold to talk to a mechanic and came back explaining that they needed to take the control arm off to get the ball joint pressed out. The estimate for the ball joint replacement and alignment (the alignment was originally quoted at 1.8 hours but then dropped to 1hr labor) was provided at $387.85. This, to me, seemed fair enough to go ahead with the repair of the ball joint and alignment.I then asked Joe if there was anything he could do to reduce the $127 to install the TPMS and he said it already took 1hr for the mechanic to do this. I expressed my shock at already being on the hook for this work because I thought I would get a call with a cost estimate from them like he told me. Instead, they performed work that I didnt authorize without providing a cost estimate as promised. Additionally, they performed the TPMS reprogramming work I didnt ask for.Joe then proceeded to get very upset with me, saying things like Im not gonna sit here and argue over nickels and dimes and I already gave you a good bargain and I dont understand why people always do this.. I have a business to run and this is the cost and tell you what Im gonna do.. Im gonna take the TPMS out and put your sh*t back in it and you can come get your car.I tried to talk him down to a calm state and explain that I wasnt trying to argue with him, but Joe was irate and raising his voice so I told him I would come get my car.I went to go pick up my car and Joe told me he was going to keep the new TMPS installed and that he wasnt going to charge me for it. I explained that I wasnt trying to nickel and dime him and that I just expected to have a cost estimate up front as Joe told me. Joe then said something about having another customer prior that morning that was being unreasonable and, therefore, already built up Joes temper. I guess Joe lost his temper with me due to a prior interaction with a different customer.Joe then alluded to not remembering that he told me he would provide a cost estimate for the work after I brought my car in. He made no effort to shake my hand as he as too busy printing out paperwork to level with me in a sincere manner.Geez.. I feel so bad about this. I just wanted to have a cost estimate up front before authorizing any work done to my vehicle, as promised. I definitely did not want Joe to be upset or feel like I was being unreasonable, and certainly did not want to get cursed out over this issue. I guess I will take my business elsewhere.I have gone to Corner Mechanic for significant work a few times over the last year, but will not be returning due to this incident. Seems like their initial cost estimates are high, and when you go to get further clarity from Joe, you run the risk of getting turned away in an aggressive manner.

Nice people, but I spent 400 bucks and several weeks trying to fix an AC and a 4x4 problem. They weren’t able (willing?) to fix either. Took to the dealer and fixed issue in a few hours.

In town visiting and someone clipped my bike rack and snapped off the tongue in the trailer hitch . I gave them a call and told me to pop by. They were able to knock the broken tongue out in a few minutes. Their rate was super reasonable too. A super positive experience.

Good work, but labor rate is high for an independent. Fit me in, work done quickly-good.Gave 2 prices and told me they would inform me 1st if more expensive. Charged upper price without informing 1st- bad. So will use again if I get 1 price estimate.

These guys are doing it right. They are polite, professional and reasonable. Or, as reasonable as any mechanic youll find.

I made an appointment at 8am in the morning, they held onto my car until the next morning. I was never contacted by them about what was going on with my car, I had to call for updates, estimates, and work needed to be done. At the end of it all I was charged 200 dollars for parts that were 20 dollars and took 20 minutes to replace. The problem was still there after the fact. When I brought it back the woman who worked at the front desk was extremely upset that I had questions about my bill, and did not appreciate me coming back with the same problem. One of the mechanics stepped up and really took the time to find the problem and make it right, he didnt charge me for the extra labor he spent to find and fix the issue. Cheers to that guy for stepping up being honest and doing the right thing, but the shop experience overall was miserable. The owner seemed clueless, the woman working the front desk was bitter and at the end of the day I was overcharged for a simple fix.

Charged me $119 in labor to swap (2) rear brake pads. We all know how much time that takes (maybe 20 mins). Told me it would be about $150 total. Total was $186. Not the end of the world, but I feel shafted.

I have been going to them for years. They never do any work that is not necessary and let me go as long as I can when issues do arise with my truck. They squeeze me in when they can, even when they are super busy!LOVE them!

I took my car to the Corner Mechanic for an oil change and tire balance. They didnt change the oil and the engine seized. When I called them they said they had no record of my request for the oil change, and since they didnt do the work they werent responsible for the car breaking down.

These guys have always gone the extra mile to provide good service at a fair price.

Very nice people but never tell you that it cost to see if your battery is dead. You would think by buying a battery from them that it wouldnt cost more. Almost 50.00 bucks extra to tell me you need a new battery. I would of used them next time for more auto work but after you ripped me off for a battery, Ill pass!!! . Next time you hook a little machine up to anyones car tell them before you do Hey Im going to charge you for this I could of changed my own F_ _ _ING battery. RIP OFFS DONT USE
