Cozy place and nice staff.Love this cafe!

Update:I boosted it to 3 stars for the prompt and respectful response by the owner Kyle. He even offered a refund. I politely declined (I wanted to pay for the materials used), but I will consider returning to give the shop another shot.1 star-Unpleasant environment. I went in a good mood and left in a sour one. I got snapped at by an employee (I think his name was Connor) for asking (yes, nicely) if a sandwich was mine (because it had been there since I paid). I was rudely told no, it belongs to that guy, and basically not to touch it. Ok... I waited while several orders went out and that guy left. After a bit I asked if mine was coming up (because they we just leaning on the counter not making anything) and was told they gave yours to that guy so you just take this one. The one left sitting for awhile and was told not to touch. Both employees seemed bothered and unhappy that there was work to do. I was running late at this point so I took the cold sandwich and left. I was so uncomfortable by the interaction I almost cried. Ill rush during lunch, lose my parking spot, and book it across campus before I go back there.

Neat building, neat coffee, friendly people. Get the everything, everything - you wont regret it!

This is a great place to go for studying or hanging out. The tables are cleaned regularly and the food/coffee is also really good. The building itself is really nice and gives the coffeeshop a nice casual atmosphere.

The food and coffee was good and all, but there was a really nice dog that just walked up to me demanding to be pet. Also the couch is comfy.

Great atmosphere marred by the worst roast beans in town. I will say, however that their smoothies and baked goods are excellent. Although incredibly bitter, their coffee is very strong and will help you power through long assignments. Their location across from the library is a huge plus.

Love their sandwiches, lunch and breakfast alike! And they started serving beer 🍺🙌🏼. The coffee is on point too ☺️

The barista I had was super nice and so concerned about if I liked the soy chai with pomegranate. She offered to remake it, but I told her it was fine. Great person. The second time I ordered, I only had a regular soy chai & the barista was different, but she too was super great!

Found this little gem while photographing a wedding at the Canad Inn in Grand Forks!Went in for a coffee, came out with two and two breakfast sandwiches and a brunch menu for the weekend.Chatted with the manager for a good 10 minutes about the shops history and current offerings and how they partner with their local bread company and sponsor homemade macaroons whose sales benefit a group at UND.Next time I am in town, I am seeking this place out and making it a point to come for their baked oatmeal and delicious brunch offerings.Also told several locals about this spot as well. Yum yum yummie

I didnt get anything from here when I visited but their stuff looks appetizing. I didnt eat them so I dont know how they taste.

Slightly disappointed that when I ordered, the barista began to tell me that I wanted something else, and when I clarified he continued to make a drink I did not order, despite the fact that as a barista myself I know what I ordered and how to properly make it. Unfortunate that I love this location but have been disappointed before when ordering as well.

Could burn hours here studying.

I love Archives, its always such a cozy atmosphere with a bustle. They recently turned it into more of a cafe coffee shop and the food is delicious. It is a little more expensive but its great food!

Archives is the quintessential coffee shop. It’s everything you want a coffee shop to be. The drinks are great, the staff is lovely, the seating is plentiful. It’s a great place to either go and visit or work on projects with others or to go and bring your laptop and study/work alone. Great coffee shop and I’m always glad when we are around and able to go.

It was my first time there but I enjoyed it very much. The staff was cordial and the service was pretty good. The food was good as well.

Amazing atmosphere. Huge area with tables, arm chairs, couches. Outdoor seating, shade trees. Limited menu but they have all the basics, coffee, espresso, tea, scones. I love it, I wish they were open on the weekends.

Wonderful experience here. I have been here a couple of times, it seems well curated, I have received good service and the coffee suits my palate very well. Good place to read in peace.

This is a great little shop that has a wonderful selection of tea and coffee. The baristas always remember what I like and make suggestions if I want to try something new. Im often in here for long periods of time during the semester and the atmosphere is always welcoming! This is probably my most productive space to get work done and relax.

Love the tea selections. It’s a nice place to come for a change of scenery during studying. It’s also not too loud if you’re looking for a place to study rather than the library.

I am very dissatisfied with this coffee shop. I ordered a latte on my way to class, only to be let down. Their large latte is the size of a small latte at Starbucks. It also cost a dollar more. Pay more for less coffee? I don’t think so. I also sent the owner of the coffee house an email stating my concerns; I never got anything back. I will never buy another cup of coffee here again.

Archives is an ideal place to study between classes or otherwise. There are many tables as well as comfortable couches to study alone or in groups. The coffee is great, staff is friendly. My one qualm is that the coffee is overpriced, but honestly, what coffee house isnt?

I really tried to like this place. I even gave it a few additional visits to make sure my opinion was not premature. Biggest dislike is the products are entirely overpriced. I ordered a small tea and asked for an additional bag and it was 3 dollars! I absolutely love the tea they use but the price is a big no no. Luckily, the brand of tea that Archives Coffeehouse uses is called Smith Teamaker. You can buy box with 15 tea bags for 11 bucks! ( Plus free shipping if you have Amazon Prime! #win.) Long story short, I will not be returning. Ever.

Even though the coffee is the most expensive in town, it is also the best! If the price was decreased this would be a 5 star review. The best place to study and the best place to get coffee!

Kind of high on prices and a smaller variety of choices, but they donate to a great cause and what they put out for coffee is great! Plenty of college students go there each and every day of the week.

I ordered a Lodon Fog & a blueberry streusel muffin. The muffin was amazing!! I wish I had ordered a dozen 😋 The Lodon Fog was delicious, but it wasnt very hot. The barista working was friendly and made my first experience very pleasant.

This is the best coffee shop in Grand Forks. Kyle, the new owner, has done a wonderful job improving Archives where it was needed while also keeping what was already working.

The coffees they buy are excellent and I really enjoy my daily Americano. They make it exactly the way I asked them to do it and, more importantly, they remember me!

Archives Coffee House is a great social, gathering, and study space on the University of North Dakota campus. I spend many hours here each week.

The hours online are not accurate so if you are a student gearing up to get some homework done after 9 on Saturday night you cant because even though the hours say they are opened until 11 on this fine Saturday evening, they close at 9.
