While the dust still seems to be settling from their recent remodel, it seems to have really improved the store. There’s now a dedicated section for furniture; and most things in the store are organized in a way that at least somewhat makes sense. Do note that they only refund in store credit, so make sure what you’re buying actually works and is in good enough repair for you before you check out. They also don’t take American Express.
Years ago, I was given a birthday present of a great new leather jacket. For some unknown reason, it would not break-in! No matter how much I wore it the jacket continued being brand new, too new, shiny new. I dragged it in the dirt and even drove over it, vehicle tires on asphalt, and it still snapped back to perfect brand new condition! It was horrible! It must have been cut from the hide of the most happy steer in the west. Now, I know a solution...We like to donate to Goodwill and also occasionally shop. With a bit of patience and good fortune in timing, you can pull some true gems out of Goodwill Grand Junction. The prices have gotten higher. As long as the money is going to good causes it is fair enough. The store tends to be in fairly good order and pretty clean aside from clothes you buy needing a wash or dry-clean.1 star deducted because I have seen some people working there that should be filtered out. Even though the plan is to help people off the street and back on their feet after jail, theres a line that the hiring team seems to miss sometimes. It is important that hired workers are not boomin on drugs or going berserk in mental issues. Also, there is a special invention called breath mints and in some situations they can be sorely missed, like when you turn around an end-cap on the shelves and come chin to chin with one of these hires that should not have been hired. The fun part is when you find a quality article made by a great company and it is already broken-in nice and you buy it for a fraction of the original cost and current value.Having someone break your clothes in for you is like being royalty and having official tasters of food to ensure it is safe! Now, if you ever get a new item that wont break-in, thats totally on you, cause you read this review and had the solution in hand!
Not a mask to be seen on any employee. No distancing. ( Five local covid deaths in the last couple of days...a community hospital full for two weeks, looking for beds up to 500 miles away, and we cant do the simplest of things to care for each other.I was disappointed to see the low standards.
Things are priced close to retail on platform like eBay Amazon etc. Which would be fine if they fully tested the items and cleaned them. And if something doesnt work or fit or whatever you dont get your money back. You just get store credit which is just a rip off.
This store is remodeling so they dont have changing rooms. Buyer beware!! If you buy something, you cant get your money back! You get store credit for anything returned. We bought $35 worth of clothing that couldnt be tried on. I used my credit card. After trying the clothes on, I returned $20 worth that didnt fit. Upon returning them, I was issued store credit instead of issuing a credit on my card. I wont be back until the remodel is done and clothing can be tried on. This is just wrong!! 😡😡😡
I love this store but i just went with my friend and the lady who rung her up was so rude. we were wondering what was making her total so expensive for 5 items, we were not unreasonable with our question of why. we are high school students that don’t have a whole lot of money to spend in the first place. she was snarky and disrespectful i’ll be surprised if i go in there anytime soon. i don’t enjoy a cashier being so rude!
Pretty solid place for furniture or other items. Things are chaotic now with the remodel but easy to reorient and find good stuff.
Seems like this store is getting pricier--even to the point of being overpriced on some items. Despite the high prices, selection is limited by low quality/well used items and clothes. The staff were nice.
WOW!One of the most clean and organized GWs Ive ever been to. Killer selection. Killer staff!
I appreciate the organization here, the cleanliness, and the turnover of goods, but the prices are sometimes inconsistent. Just because an item has a brand name does not mean it is either new/ish or in great shape. Im also concerned about no changing rooms and a store credit only policy, but will see how this one goes..Also I sometimes experience excellent customer service here, sometimes not, but understand the challenges of the position! Overall, thk you.
I always find good deals at Goodwill. Have bought several pieces of furniture and never been disappointed
Its a cool place to shop l luv shopping there
Much better now that they redid the inside layout.
Over the years I have been to Goodwill stores in 4 different states. This one is the nicest and most organized store I have seen! The Goodwill in Skokie, IL comes in 2nd place. The prices have increased a lot over the years in Goodwill but this store is still fairly reasonable on most items.
Their prices are outragious. Takes forever to check out. Goodwill is a for profit org. take your stuff to Salvation Army or the Ark on North Ave. Returns now are only for store credit.
Its a nice goodwill the only issue I had was that there sizes Were not orginized verry well
I came to GJ to visit my daughter. I love your goodwill. Friendly staff that is always eager to help answer questions. Your store has a big variety of items. Especially for new college students in the dorms at CMU. Lots of lovely clothing and jewelry as well
They have decent stuff but there asking retail price like from reselling platforms ebay ect, witch is crazy because there stuff isnt even clean and they get the stuff for freeWhy would I go there to pay retail and find item in the store while I can go on ebay buy the same price or cheaper I send a offer and get it shipped to my door
Please be careful about accidentally donating stuff. They say they will look for it but wont. Ive called multiple times, gone to the store a lot. I donated the night before they closed, I Called right when they opened the next morning about my stuff and its been weeks. I I keep going to the store looking for my stuff but its probably been sold. If things take way longer then they need to explain it or the process.
Great shopping, clean store. Happy campers!
The store smelled bad and too many people close together.
Super easy to drop off donations. Friendly staff, lots of cool stuff at low prices.
Found so many great clothes.
Good place for lower price items
Pretty good deals this visit.
Always a great place to shop. They have good prices. The store is clean and they practice social distancing. The employees are very knowledgeable about the products. There is very helpful people working there.
Very well kept store, very friendly staff.
I shop here often. Good selection, decent sales, but some stuff is overpriced.
Fitting rooms are closed. Items are able to be returned. All you get back is store credit though, which is not noted anywhere on the receipt nor in store. Never donating again, because these guys are total crooks. Oh and if you think this is a charitable organization youve also been fooled. Its privately owned and they are raking it in! Boo!
All sizes.. large selection..clean. Wednesday is Seniors Day for discount.
Good prices on higher end clothing, staff is nice.
Good selection. Found some bearclaw boots for the mud !
The shift supervisor ( what employees have told me) is absolutely horrible to the customers. Intimidating and mean for no reason! Im disgusted with this place and will not be coming back. Overpriced too. Some items are more expensive than NEW! Outrageous!
Great clean, organized store and reasonable prices.
Very clean store and FRIENDLY helpful staff
Its the weirdest thing. Everytime I take my kids to this place they get really really sick. I mean every time. I dont think their products get sanitized before going on the shelves.
Love getting baby clothes here!!
Very nice, and convenient
Goodwill always pulls through with affordable bangers 👍
Why you cant keep up with my gps
Best store for good brands. Thanks Goodwill,
Very organized and good prices.
They were very organized. Well mannered, very helpful.
The older woman named Janith that works in the fitting room is absolutely the most disrespectful employee I have ever met. She was extremely rude to a friend and I after mistakenly bringing the cart in the fitting area. ( mind you the sign is extremely hard and easy to miss)and continued to be very rude to me after 2 managers were called to resolve the situation. Instead of the 2 managers appropriately handling the issue they continued to let this employee argue with usthe managers did not ask her to leave the situation, the managers proceeded to start arguing with me only escalating the issue that I was upset., and and still not discussing the disrespectful employee Janith who threw her arm in the air and rudely spoke to us. The managers not only humiliated me in front of the entire store but continued to do so as I was trying to change in the fitting room and leave the store. All the way until I left. I purchased an entire cart of clothes and they continued to talk to me and continued to escalate the situation. Im appalled at how these managers escalated the situation and didnt handle the employee at all. I felt attacked. I was a very regular customer until this happened. I will never again go to this store.
There lots of clothes well organized, different things for kitchen, shoes and other items which are in good condition. Its a big store I recommend to visit.
Very nice place to shop! I have gone to a lot of other locations in several different states and this is easily the nicest one. I loved how they have everything sorted by sizes in the clothes because it was easier to just look through the sizes I needed instead of looking at every piece of clothing searching for my size. I even found brand new name brand jeans and the prices were great too! The store was clean and everything was pretty easy to find even though it was my first time there. I was amazed at how friendly the staff was and how willing to help they were. They even had someone walking around to offer cookies to the customers! Definitely going to go back soon!
At 8pm. 2 employees with 1 register open, & 12 customers. Sounds like a good joke huh? You create the punch line. Funny? Not even 1 of the 12 customers were laughing!
Nice big place! Decent prices. Lot to look through
I always go there because they are the best i always come out here with a lot of cloth es and thing for my house they are friendy i like that.
Your floor supervisor is a pain in the romp, not friendly at all, lack or customer skills, not very helpful providing information on articles, she needs to be train in social and customer service skills it you want to keep your clientele otherwise the are other thrifty stores in town that be glad to welcome Goodwill former customers.
Well kept good selections
Fantastic prices on everything you can imagine. From childrens toys to furniture and household items. They have a huge selection of clothing, all in very good condition. Everything is very well organized, which makes it easy to find what youre looking for. The employees were all incredibly friendly and helpful. And the restrooms were spotless. I was very impressed with this business, and would highly recommend it. Five stars!!!
Staff were friendly! Nice clothes selection! If you need to try clothes on, dont bother. The dressing rooms are closed due to Covid19.
Shout out to Toby. He is a real people person. Easy to talk to. Helped us with what we needed. Toby and Angie were both very kind. The store was very clean and well organized this evening. Had a great experience as always.
Ok. Not super friendly or helpful. No dressing room and returned only go to store credit.
Price of things were pretty high for items that were given to them free!
Great stuff but u have to stand in line for an hour or so but hey if u have all day its a good deal
Expensive for used clothes.
Great selection of items every time I go. I do wish the outdoor section were larger, it is a bit cramped. I love that there is always a discounted color tag for that particular day, just find the sign hanging from the ceiling above the jewelry section.
A good selection of quality used items that benefit the community, and which also provides employment to deserving and friendly people. Excellent customer service and kind and helpful employees.
Excellent staff and always clean. A ton of options and well organized. Nice that they have a coffee/book nook at the back of the store. Dressing rooms are clean and spacious with very friendly staff waiting nearby to answer any questions you might have.
Nice thrift store. Good selection, well organized.
The female employee (older, with brown curly hair) that works in the clothing area is very rude. She kept getting very close and she’s pushy. I was looking at clothes and she put more clothes right next to where I was looking. I was also standing somewhere and she walked past me very fast and almost bumped into me. She never said excuse me or anything.
Fantastic
Absolute worst store ever, went to donate a loveseat and was turned away and told they were not taking any furniture. Called and spoke with the manager who said they are always taking furniture. This manager then “spoke” with the donations department that lied and said they did not turn anything away, I know they have cameras so they should check. I hope ARC has better business practices.
Ive always liked this store but theyve now combined No fitting rooms with no refunds (only store credit). Makes me reluctant to shop there.
Clean and very organized. Great deals.
I had a bad experience while shopping here. The cashier never offered to bag my items. He was also very rude. He was ignoring my grandmother and talking to employees about what he would do when he got off work. We over heard the other employee say his name was Taylor. We ended up asking for a box and he pointed in the direction of the boxes! Rude.. Would not even box up the item for us. The young man Taylor, (blond hair and black fingernail polish) who was working the register.. PLEASE START HIRING KIND PEOPLE AGAIN GOODWILL! THE FOLKS ON THE REGISTER NOW ARE VERY RUDE. IM NOT COMING BACK! This is the last time I let some young person with a bad attitude take my money! I SUGGEST OTHERS AVOID THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU LIKE RUDE EMPLOYEES AND HIGH RETAIL PRICES.
Store selling donated items. Its cheap. Thats why broke mfs like me shop there
I love this place it is always clean neat and theyre friendly
Great store with reasonable prices. Clean restrooms. Serve free coffee. Well organized. Only complaint this visit was the cashier who was talking more than cashiering and holding up the line. I have shopped here numerous times, this was the only time with a negative.
Love to donate quality items. Many racks are SO packed cant even move the hangers to see the items. Need to have a one dollar tag(s) day a wk.
Found a great shirt. Still had store tag
Drop off is terrible at this location. Very rude people in this section of goodwill. If your dropping off only a couple of bags of clothing there should be an express lane. Not right when people are filling up their entire cars and trucks full of stuff to make you wait and you only have a few items. The woman in the giraffe costume told me to get back in my car! Rude! Second time this has happened. First time we were refused a donation of crib/toddler bed. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the item!
Love this place
Good place
Probably has the best selection of all the thrift shops in town. Most of the staff is great though occasionally you get the one or two that dont want to be there. Otherwise, a great place to shop.
This is the biggest goodwill Ive ever been in. Staff was super friendly. They were also giving away cookies. Prices seemed a little higher than most other goodwill stores Ive been in but not unreasonable.
Greedwill should be ashamed of the prices in this store $25-40 for USED Jeans. Jerseys $21 in poor condition. Kids jerseys $16. Stuff new with tags $5 under retail. Ok I am going to give goodwill a free business plan. Stop paying executives millions, lower the prices and watch your sales increase 50%. I know you think you are trying to beat the resellers although what you do not realize is that the majority of your customers are resellers. You raise your prices to retail the resellers cant afford to buy anything then you lose lost revenue that is supposed to go to CHARITY. An employee at this store said that the manager would deal with prices when we went to the counter she would not deal at all. Lost out on 150 in sales because she would not take 10% off a $250 total. 10% is not that much in reality. I just gave you advice that will increase your sales by a million dollars a year. I expect my cut at the end of the year. Jay. I forgot to say that all the employees (except the manager) were very friendly and personable.
Glad to finally have a place to drop off my unwanted items.
I was heart sick about a ring my grandmother gave me that I thought I left in a pocket of a shirt I had donated to our Goodwill store. Supervisor Tammy was so helpful in taking down the information and looking for the ring. Thankfully I found it at home later that day. Whew! Thank you Tammy for your efforts! I love our Goodwill store and the people who work there.
Not a great selection for childrens toys. Other then that it was okay.
My most favorite place to shop in Grand Junction for just about everything I need! Alway look up on the hanging board to see what the two discount tag colors are and ask any worker what the third secret 50% off tag color is! Remember, whats one persons junk is another persons treasure! And... OLD by todays relatively poor mass-manufacturing standards often means QUALITY! They just dont make things like they used to.
I just called to ask a question and someone by the name of Heather answered the phone today. Before I could even ask a question she hangs up on me. It was so loud and for her not to even give me the opportunity to say anything she says I cant hear you and hangs up on me. I have never experienced anything of this kind his disrespectful customer service from any organization before. I was calling to donate a substantial amount of money towards Goodwills programs. But Thank you for the lack of customer service and hanging up on me . I will donate my money to a more deserving Non-profit organization.
This is a very clean and very organized store. The people who work there have always been friendly and professional. I love the variety of things in the store and have found some practical needs as well as treasures that I have purchased.
I just left a large load of dish set, wine classes crystal serving tray, glass ware. In total about 15 boxes and they dumped them all in a large container breaking it all. If I had known this is what was going to happen to it, I would have given it away. I will never go back to good will.
This store is clean and well organized! My only complaint is that I feel they ask to much for items that I have paid half the price or more at habitat.
I love this store, I always find nice treasures and clothing. The store is clean and is even color coordinated! Another thing is how kind and nice the employees are, they are fun to talk to and very helpful. Very well organized and I was much more impressed by how they ran this Goodwill, Denver has probably some of the worst Goodwills, the employees are unhappy and everything smells and disorganized. Good job Grand Junction Goodwill!!
Clean, organized, and free coffee. All this and helping out a good cause. Who could ask for more?
The goodwill is the spot
What an awful experience! I have regularly shopped at goodwills all over Colorado for over 10 years, this store was full of very RUDE and UNHAPPY staff. I kindly asked my cashier if they could honor my 30% coupon (I received in Denver CO) and instead of simply saying no, a “manager” dressed like a homeless woman with greasy hair started jumping down my throat. I have been in the customer service industry for a long time, you NEVER raise your voice to a guest. Very unhappy customer...will not be back.
My wife and I tried shopping at Goodwill stores in Denver and was always very disappointed with the merchandise, prices, and overall dirty, stinky stores. We were apprehensive when this one opened here in Grand Junction. Boy, were we surprised! We always find treasures and must haves. The selection is great, prices are outstanding, and the store is clean and feels more like a department store. The quality of merchandise here is awesome too! This is how to run and maintain a Goodwill!
