A staff member who tried to sell me furniture on 10/31 was very pushy. Almost to the point of making me and my fiancé feel uncomfortable. We quickly looked around the store and left - being sure to avoid that certain staff member. On a positive note, the fact that this store has an open clearance section is nice.
The delivery was promptly on time. They communicated with me before the delivery date to confirm timeframe and got here as promised. The two man crew were very polite and courteous. They quickly got me office set up and cleaned up afterwards. Very please! We will use them to furnish other spaces for sure.

I will never purchase furniture from Value City again! Within months of us purchasing a sectional, it was tearing at the seams all throughout the entire piece. I though no biggie, we purchased the extra warranty so they will have to fix or replace it. WRONG! I sent in very detailed pics and my claim was denied. After researching online, I saw many unhappy customers on BBB that had experienced similar issues. I would stay clear of Value City & wouldnt definitely not let them talk you into purchasing the extra warranty because it covers nothing.

I went in early March to order my furniture. The delivery date was originally schedule for May, later on pushed back to June and then pushed back to July. I was getting 2 bedroom sets, a living room set and dining table. A day before my furniture was scheduled to be delivered in July they called me to let me know the dining table and partial of living room set and one bedroom set would not be available on that delivery. The one bedroom set and living room were pushed back til august. The dining table was on back order until December, I couldn’t wait that long so i decided to go back in the store, order a whole new table set that was scheduled to arrive in august.Fast forward to August, Of course a week before my second delivery was due they called me again to tell me that my living room set was pushed back once again, now new date was in September and my new dining table pushed back to December. Just ridiculous! I get because of Covid things are not available, but don’t tell customers it is available give them a date and then change everything with a HUGE gap difference!So now I canceled my living room set and dining room set, went with another furniture store and already got my dining room set and getting my living room set in a week, thank God for them!The pieces I did get from there so far no problem, the delivery guys were really nice and set up quickly I would give the delivery crew 5 stars but not Value City service they can’t keep on pushing back, just tell customer is NOT available from the beginning!

Overall, we have had an excellent experience with Value City. We found what we were looking for at a very reasonable price. Unfortunately, VC did not have one of the pieces to our new living room set so they gave us two delivery dates, one in December for the three available pieces and one in May for out of stock item. Both deliveries were on the day promised and at exactly the times we were given the day before. In our experience with other furniture stores, we believe this is rather remarkable--promises made were promises kept. Thank you Value City for a delightful experience! Well most certainly visit you FIRST the next time we need new furniture and/or accessories.

I have been attempting to have a bed delivered and set up to my house. I had an issue with the delivery payment and using my Fortiva account. Due to longer then usual wait times it was hard to get through to the customer service department and get assistance. Jessica called me repeatedly, found a way to access my fortiva and use that account to pay the delivery costs. She was so pleasant every single time we spoke, and she never stopped trying until we found a solution. She is an excellent customer service representative.

I would give them no stars if it were possible, it took 4+ months to receive a bunk bed that I purchased from them, I have no complaints about the physical furniture, the sales representative that helped me was nice and no issues there, but after waiting over 4 months for the bunk bed to be delivered, I discovered I was missing an important piece to the bed, I called the store to explain the issue and they didn’t seem to understand, so I had to drive to the store to explain the issue, the sales representative was very rude and pointed me to a manager, the manager was rude at first telling me it was impossible for me to be missing that part I needed, said it would be another 2-3 months for that part, but he did eventually help get me a different part that fit the bunk bed, I had to wait an additional week for the part, never again will I do business with Value City Furniture
The delivery guys arrived within the time frame that I was given. They were fast and courteous and place the furniture were asked. No complaints

Purchased a reclining loveseat from this location.While the store and merchandise were in excellent condition, my encounter with their salesperson, Brendie, was very disappointing.She was pushy, annoying, made judgements based on our appearance and gave us misinformation. If I were to return to Value City, I’d most certainly asked for another salesperson.

Ordered furniture did it though there 120 day same as cash payment plan. Went in to pay it off only to find out about $125 hidden extra fees that were never told to me when I signed my contract. It was for some insurance what I could of opted out of if I had known about it. It was done sneaky. They give you one contract and then email you a different contract with hidden fees. Just be honest with your customers. They lost any future business from me. Cant deal with shady businesses. Be honest!!!
Got my dining table in 3 weeks as promised. Delivery was fast and they showed up right on time. Had an issue with the legs on some chairs not being level. Value City had a repair man come out quickly and repair the issue. Very happy with their service and will be back for further purchases. Love my dining set!

I ordered a couch the end of April. The delivery date was June 18. The day before I called to see what was going on, because I didnt get a phone call. I already got rid of the other furniture. After I spoke to them they said no one assigned a delivery store to my order so now it will be Aug 30th. Meanwhile we have no couch! Very horrible experience! Never will go back!
We worked with Valerie to get furniture for our house and she is just phenomenal and so dedicated!! She truly went above and beyond to make sure our family was satisfied and that we got everything we wanted. She even tracked down pieces that werent in store to make sure we got everything. We had a lot of pieces and she did an amazing job tracking everything until we got it all. Even after the purchase, she stayed in contact with us for any questions or help we needed. Literally the best sales associate weve ever encountered anywhere!! Just can not say enough about her, you rock Valerie!!!

The only reason why I’m not giving a 5 yet is because my delivery is the 23rd but I had to give a shout out to Gail (sales rep)! What great service. I was going to spend over 4K with another company all together CASH. I went over to VCF just to check and the 1st thing I walked into was a smile 😀. I am so happy that I shopped at Value City Furniture in Hagerstown, MD! I worked with Erik G. and he made this experience enjoyable. Due to COVID-19, my family was looking for a sectional that can be bought off the floor and no one had anything. When I called Value City, just to check, Erik let me know that they had a clearance section where they had a sectional. Not only did he take his time to describe it, he sent a picture because we were traveling from Inwood, WV in the middle of a snowstorm, and did not want to make a wasted trip. We bought the sectional one hour later and a matching reclining chair. Kudos to the presentation of the store and to Erik for being patient and kind! Will definitely be back for more furniture!
VCF in Hagerstown did an amazing job helping me out, I bought a grey sectional for my house and it kept getting pushed back and I walked in just to look and fell in love with another sectional Brendie helped me out and even got my price cheaper than what I paid originally. We went to Value City Furniture yesterday, 2/27/21. Our furniture will be delivered Wednesday. I just wanted to write a short review about our salesperson Valeria. She was absolutely amazing and was extremely patient with us while we were deciding which couch and loveseat we wanted. She never pressured us to go over our budget which is extremely nice especially when dealing with a salesperson. I highly recommend seeing Valeria the next time you are in need of furniture

I have bought my second living room set through them and have paid off my bedroom suit. I like them. If you like nice furniture that will last you, its there. Understand with Value City, you get what you pay for. I had bought a bistro kitchen dinette set. It has been passed down to my daughter and her family and still look like it did when I bought it.I almost say this; when I started out trying to get credit, Value City did! Ive been loyal for all my furniture needs to them. I know I always will be. When I can afford to buy their better things I do. When my money situation laughs, I still get lasting furniture. They back it up too.

Bought 2 sofas, took almost 2 months to receive them, which I figured was normal especially with Covid, but I had them for less than 2 months and half of the one sofa literally caved completely in! Like the seats all the way to the floor on 1/2 of it! I’d purchased the warranty so I called about the issue waited 2 months for it to be looked at then was told it shouldn’t have broken (no really?) and I’d receive a replacement (that I’d have to pick up at the store) in about month and 1/2..... just got a call it’s now being pushed out to June 11. ANOTHER 2 months! I called the store to ask for a return, to get my money back they said “that’s not how it works”. I have the option of picking out another couch, that for all I know will do the exact same thing or just continue to wait! I was also told that I’d have to return the broken couch to the store, that they wouldn’t pick it up. When I said I’d gladly bring it and drop it at the front of the store the manager said I was threatening him and he was hanging up. SERIOUSLY?!?
Brendie and her manager worked with me to find something in the store that I could pay for and take with me... rare to find something you can take with you the same day right now!

From the sale to the delivery, everyone was very polite, honest and upfront. The sale was easy and quick. The two gentleman that delivered my item was very kind, and nice down to the early morning phone call regarding delivery. They made sure that every thing was in working order and there was no mess left behind. Will definitely return to the store again for my furniture needs.

This has been one of the best couch shopping experiences of my life. Gary helped us out and made us feel assisted without hovering. He gave us the time we needed to try the various options and we never felt hounded or bothered, but he was close at hand any time we needed him. Gary was very helpful. Prices where good. No pressure from anyone. As soon as we entered we were greeted with a hello how are you. We just left Ashley home and looked around for 45 minutes not a single person talked to us. VCF was a complete opposite of that. We needed and purchased 2 sofas and a chair.
Really disappointed I ordered furniture probably 2-3 months ago and have been waiting for the delivery which I was told ahead of time wouldnt be until early July. Now I get a call telling me some of it is coming in Aug and the remainder wont be available until the end of Sept. this is ridiculous! If you dont mind waiting a yr for your furniture i guess this is the place to go.

Went in found a sectional that we liked, was told it wasn’t in stock bc of one piece so they told us may 15th (now mind you I fully paid it in February) was called 3 days before delivery date was told June 15th same thing happened again now June 29th. Called and told them I was done and want my money back, now I gotta wait two months for corporate to send me my money back. Place is a joke and will never be back
Our first visit to Value City. My fiance was working with Gary and left to bring me back to see a living room set he liked. When we pulled into the parking lot Gary was pulling out. Gary actually postponed whatever he had planned and instead walked in with us to the store. Gary was never a pushy salesman; left us alone to look around and talk with one another and was right with us when we needed him. I had questions and Gary worked with me on his day off! The phone support team is awful! Time on hold, lack of awareness of inventory and inability to answer simple measurement questions was very frustrating. If the manager, Scott, had not intervened we would not have purchased the set. The living room set is gorgeous and the service by both Gary and Scott sealed the deal. Arrival date is April 6th...well see.

July 03, 2020, I went to value City for the first time. I was impressed with the lovely furniture and assessories, I had a fabulous sales associate Gail. I left the store in an awesome mood because i had such a great 1st time customer experience. Well it ended quickly, sad to say, I read the reviews and a lot of customers had a similar experience such as myself.I ordered a fireplace and insert and a king bedroom set from Value City on Wesel Blvd in Hagerstown, MD. A portion of the bedroom set and fireplace was delivered around the 15th of July and the remaining pieces were supposed to be delivered 8th August. I received a phone call from Alec the store manager at 2:24 pm on August 4th stating that my furniture wasnt put on the truck and is it possible for them to deliver on Monday, I said sure but it has to be by Monday because I have to go to Atlanta due to an ill sister, he said sure.Well its Monday 10th August at 1:17 pm and I called to see what happened to my delivery, Im told that they dont deliver on Monday, thats not what I was told, is what I said to the young man, he put me on hold and the manager Alex/Alec not sure of the spelling, anyway, Im telling him what was told to me and he says the same thing, no Monday delivery. How do I the customer supposed to know the stores delivery days, I was following what was replayed to me.Alec asks me to walk him through my order as if he cant see whats already in the computer, not to mention he called me when the mistake of my furniture not being loaded on the truck. He then states all my pieces are in the warehouse and its stating that I supposed to pick-up, at that point I became so frustrated and started basically yelling to the point my blood pressure elevated and I became ill. To add insult to injury Alec proceeded to patronize me as if he was doing me a favor, instead of apologizing for their mix up. I took off work waiting for a delivery that wasnt even on their radar and its been almost a month since I paid over $3,000.00 for the merchandise. I guess If I never called on Monday, my furniture would still be sitting in the wearhouse. Its sad that this incident caused me a first time customer to NEVER shop at any Value City again.Note to management:Stop disregarding your customers, we keep the business going as well as the sales people who depend on the commission off our purchases. Alec did say that the 150.00 delivery charge would be waved; however, he NEVER apologized for their warehouse mistake and not before the company lost a good customer.Titles require leadership nd most definitely are the down fall of people and the ruin of businesses. Meaning not everyone is worthy to wear the title manager, supervisor or boss because titles make some people feel overly empowered.The remainder of the bedroom furniture finally arrived today 11 August 2020, the deliver persons were professional; however, upon drilling the frame, several boards cracked, I took photos in case the frame starts to crack later.Dissatisfied Customer Teresa P. Gail, our sales person was very helpful. She put up with our wacky married sense of humor. We were / are looking for a sofa, chair, and/or loveseat that electronically reclines,. 3 point preferably. I broke my finger getting out of our too low sofa. So were in the market. The set we came out with was too expensive. We need something with lumbar support that is long enough for a 6 ft. Tall person. We are heading over again today to see a different set Gail recommended. Fingers crossed!
Hope youre prepared to wait a few months for your furniture... they wont tell you that part. Nice stuff tho..
UPDATE: After writing this post, almost immediately, I was contacted by the assistant manager Alex. He was not there the day we went in but he was very apologetic and offered us compensation to come back that was too good to refuse. He was very understanding and seemed extremely genuine. He also emailed us a copy of what he had offered us. When we went back in Alex was not there so we dealt with Alec, the manager. He was EXTREMELY friendly, helpful and accommodating. He made sure to give us his undivided attention and we were thoroughly satisfied and impressed with his efforts to make things right. We understand that management does not always have control of an employees actions, however they were very quick to step in and make things right. They went above and beyond and because of that I am changing my rating and I will be back. Thank you so much Alex and Alec.Believe all the reviews about the horrible management and customer service. My husband and I just left. We were trying to purchase a sectional. The sales guy that was helping us was new and didnt know much of anything so he took us to the back to get the paperwork started. The guy in the back was SO rude. The sales rep kept saying I think, or I dont know every time we asked a question. Then he would try to ask the guy who was sitting at his desk, and he would rudely and obnoxiously say WHAT. He acted like we were bothering him! We had some questions about their acceptance now program and the guy said thats not his job, its the girls job over there (points to girl in corner). She is listening to the whole conversation but never looks up off of her phone to help. Shes literally sitting FACING US while scrolling on her phone with a bothered look on her face. We laughed and asked if Value City in Frederick had the set. Id rather give them my money. Their customer service is WAY better. Or you can drive across the street to Bobs. The management is going to be the downfall of this place! Rude does NOT sell.

I recently went into Valu City Furniture Hagerstown because I had a few pieces that my fiancé & I liked & we wanted to look at them, not thinking we would come out buying a whole living room set & some later! Val was absolutely excellent at allowing us to browse & giving us room to breathe without hassling us which I cannot stand & what I have experience before from places. After browsing the store she was able to answer our questions which was wonderful. When we did pick out what we wanted she helped us complete our entire look with her expertise & her great interior design eye which is what I felt took her above & beyond any other furniture store I’ve ever bought from. She was also great at explaining the financing process which I had several questions. I definitely recommend Val to anyone that wants a professional, easy going experience while finding designer furniture! She also stayed at least 30 minutes late for us. So yes please go see VAL!!

Ordered furniture back in August and was told that due to Covid some of the furniture would be a month out. Salesperson was a good guy and many other stores were out of stock, so we went with it. During checkout, we were told that the coffee table and couch would be there within 2 weeks and so we were ecstatic. Turns out that was a lie. Couch never came and the coffee table was delivered to the wrong address with 3 extra scratches on it. Now one month later, we get another call stating the couch is another month and half out. I am tired of the Covid excuses. Got another call an hour later and said that the chair and 1/2 is another week out! At this point who can tell if they’re lying or they’re just inept. But hey, they have my money and I have no product. That’s not how that works. So don’t let them fool you with their response. They don’t actually care and they don’t look into anything. They delivered the chair a week after this review but again sent it to the wrong address! And of course they won’t make that right. Don’t shop here ever.Update, of course my next delivery schedule was not honored either. January is my new delivery date. So originally the couch was at the warehouse, and now, I have to wait 6 months to get the couch and even then they may push it back further. What a joke!

Product is good but warranty service is terrible. They are hard to get a hold of and do not work with your schedule. They tell you to call the repair company to schedule even though they are the warranty company. I will not buy again as this is the same thing every time. I always had good experience at the store but they need to do better with their warranty company.
There was no one to greet me at the door. I proceeded to the mattress section and tried a few. Still no sales person. I finally went to the cashiers and asked if there was someone that could help me with my purchase. I was able to get what I needed but the warehouse employee was rude.
When we went in there was no initial greeting and the only 2 employees in site were lounging on the sofas on the close left corner and said nothing to us. Then we walked through all the aisles and saw only a couple more employees all who avoided us and made no contact with us. We were looking for a few things around the house and with ZERO customer service and NO ONE to help us in our search we went towards the back and got NO HELP and NO hellos. I even went over to the group of employees lounging and said, “Hey how are y’all doin” to get them to realize we were there to purchase. They both looked at me, and the female kept telling the male her story. Not even a Hello! Or even a friendly face. As if I BOTHERED them by saying hello. Very unfriendly and wouldnt recommend to anyone looking. Would give 0 stars if possible. Terrible experience overall.

Today was the best experience in a store I have had throughout this entire pandemic. Brian at the pick-up office wore his mask properly, wiped down pens before he handed them to me to sign, and made sure to let me know the piece of furniture he was giving me was disinfected and wore gloves for the exchange. If it wasn’t for having to exchange a slightly damaged piece of new furniture we received right before the pandemic blew up we would not have gone to a store, but the fact that they are taking the proper steps to keep both their customers and employees safe made me feel much happy and comfortable with my interaction today. Thank you Brian and Value City for properly executing interactions during this pandemic and making me feel safe with my business with you.
The furniture is cheap and usually comes with defects, blemishes or all scratched up but some of their stuff is really pretty . If you don’t mind getting stuff that won’t last long then shop at Value City Furniture but choose a different one because this place (the one in Hagerstown) is run very unprofessionally. Last time I was in there, the manager was rude to one of the employees and it made me feel so uncomfortable that I had to leave the place.

Ordered furniture in January. Was suppose to be delivered in February. Received another phone call that it wont be delivered until April. Very frustrating! Didnt know it would take three months!
The delivery men were awesome. Very helpful and placed the furniture just how I wanted it. I recommend value city furniture. The in store service is awesome as well. Daniel was exceptional and very helpful when choosing what fit best for my family.
I got a living room set a year ago its paid off and guess what its falling apart I will never go back to the store in Hagerstown md
The Delivery Guys were GREAT! moved everything with no problem. They even moved a few boxes out of the way, because I hurt my back, I really appreciated them going the extra mile. They have been here before and are always so pleasant, and professional.
We bought a large bed unit with drawers book case behind and towers on sides. 6 years later and we still love it...

Ordered furniture in early January, still waiting for my mattress (originally told it would be 2 weeks. They delivered my base 2 days ago and now its sitting in a box in my hallway and they have now moved my delivery date (4th time) to the end of March. Ive had to make 3 payments on furniture I cannot get! Dont buy from here if you actually want your stuff!!!
